Monster Magnet est une formation respectée de tous, adepte du rock n roll, de bière, de moto et de jolies filles dénudées. Une ambiance très très fun accompagne tout le long d’une carrière finalement sans concession. <br />Space Lord est le single tiré de l’album Powertrip. Leur plus grand succès. <br /> <br />Coïncidence ? C’est aussi leur clip le moins sérieux, parodiant tous les clips connus de l’époque. Après avoir goûté au punk dans les années 80, Dave Wyndorf engage le chanteur Tim Cronin, le guitariste John McBrain, le bassiste Joe Callandra et le batteur John Kleiman, tous natifs du New Jersey. <br />Ensemble, ils développent un son heavy. Ils sortent un mini album dans lequel Dave Wyndorf assure toutes les voix. Tim Cronin reste en retrait. <br />En 1992, Monster Magnet sort son premier album Spine of god, suivi de Tab en 1993. <br />John McBrain est remplacé par Ed Mundell après avoir été plus ou moins renvoyé. <br />Repéré par une major, le groupe enregistre Superjudge qui ne trouve pas de public. En 1995, Monster Magnet sort Dopes of infinity qui fleure bon la tentative de polir le son du groupe mais qui ne se vend pas bien pour autant. La formation revient à ses racines en 1998 avec l'album Powertrip composé dans un motel à Las Vegas par Dave Wyndorf. Ce disque remporte un franc succès grâce notamment au single Spacelord. En 2001, Monster Magnet revient avec God Says No puis, 3 ans plus tard, avec Monolithic Baby! <br />Mars 2005, le guitariste Phil Caivano quitte le groupe.. <br />Plus de nouvelles des déconneurs de Monster Magnet depuis. <br />(Less)
