An original requiem mass in tribute to friends who have died from AIDS, composed by singer/songwriter Angela Carole Brown, and proudly featuring the voices of The Hollywood Master Chorale, in a performance on April 22, 2007, at the Wilshire United Methodist Church, Los Angeles. "I chose images of stone angels to accompany this music because, in the words of playwright Tony Kushner: 'They commemorate death, yet suggest a world without dying. They're made of the heaviest things on earth, stone. Yet they're winged; they are engines and instruments of flight.' And from my own words, they are known as the guardians of our souls. They take up, or we assign them, residence in the memory of our departed ones.
