Plymouth Hoe and waterfront February 2008. What could be potentially one of the best waterfronts in the Country is a total eyesore. New proposals at re building could prove to be very dangerous. And move the craze of tomb stoning on to other cliffs over looking the sea, and possibly cause serious harm to those involved. The temporary repairs of the Hoe and waterfront over the years has made the place look like a derelict building site. During the summer over the last few years scaffolding has been put up in order to create invalid axes to the Art Deco Tin Side pool. This effectively creates a total eye sore and blocks of most of West Hoe to the public beaches during the summer months. East Hoe, The Lions Den What was traditionally a nude sun bathing area which stems back from the days when tye Marines from the Citadel above used the East Hoe for recreation? Untill three years ago was still used for nude sun bathing, then suddenly with out telling anyone the police started to come down and aresst individuals, usually a about 5 to 7 plicemen would come down at a time and tell people that they haver had a complaint from a memer of the public, Usualy there is no proof to back up this clam. On one occasion when one of the guys questioned them about targeting men, by saying if there where women nude sun bathing in the area the policeman said that there would be possibly a fleet of plicecars parked on the road above trying to take a look. My view is that Plymouth wants to be dynamic and open so take on the views of Brighton and have a designated nude sun bathing area for both men and women and remove predgudist attitues from the police and council and be prepared to stand up for things instead of dithering or passing the book from one to another in order to avoid being responsible for actions on issues.
