http://www.thaithiefthemovie.com/ The title "Body Slam" is really Thai Teeb which means "Thai Kick" and refers to the muay thai move where you push against your opponent's torso with your foot. It isn't really like kicking someone from the side like a roundhouse. I think the word "teeb" sounds like "thief" so I think that's why the title was altered. The film is set during WW2 and several characters, all social misfits, con-men, criminals and 2 female spies have their eyes on a train load of Japanese gold. This team of frauds have personal and also patriotic motives. The director was inspired by the search for lost gold in Kanchanaburi which is the location of Bridge over the River Kwai or "Death Railroad" built by the Imperial Army using allied POWS. The film is a very light hearted comedy adventure and has obvious nationalistic overtones. Thailand did join the Axis powers in WWII.(Less)
