This video was taken from our front yard near Tanglewood Rd, about 6 miles south of Amarillo. This 2001 has been there for more than 13 years and has never failed. The battery backup actually came in handy one night in 1995 as a tornado was spotted and the power had gone off. It was just an F-0 but still hit my house. Only damage was to some shingles. The siren kept on going! It is located about 1/2 mile away and is plenty loud. Although it does it's job, it is very "Mono-toned". The wind was blowing a bit and can be heard on the video. Not much I can do about that. Notice too, how long it takes for the sound to arrive at the camera after rotation begins.(Less)
