Is your Christian morality actually objective? You believe that God is entirely good. God is the source of all good. An action is "good" if and only if it is in accordance to God's will. Sin is the defiance of God's will. By definition, then, God can only do good. Is there anything that God could do that could be considered "evil"? What if God created people who had no concept of good and evil, but then punished them and all of their descendants because they "sinned"?(Genesis 2, 3) What if God psychologically tortured a good man, urging him to kill his own son, just to test his loyalty?(Genesis 22:1-18) What if God made a man kill his own daughter as a sacrifice? (Judges 11:30-39) What if God let Satan torment a good man, destroying his life and killing his family, just to test his loyalty? (Book of Job) What if God took over a king's free will so that he would bring plagues upon himself and his people? (Exodus 9:12, 10:1, 20, 27, 11:10, 14:8) What if God killed every first born son in every family in that entire kingdom because God made their king disobey him? (Exodus 12:12,29-30) What if God raped and impregnated a thirteen year old girl? (Matthew 1:18, Luke 1:35) What if God then set up his own son to be sadistically executed in a bloody human sacrifice?(The Gospels, The Pauline Epistles) What if God ordered his people to wipe out entire cities, peoples, and nations? Hitler: Jews, Roma, Poles, Slavs, Soviets, homosexuals, the disabled Yahweh: Midianites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites (Numbers 31, Exodus 23: 23) What if God killed almost every single human being, plant, and animal on Earth? (Genesis 7:21-23) Could you call any action, no matter how heinous or cruel, "evil" if God does it? If you answer "no," then what does "good" even mean? It would be entirely arbitrary, depending only on the whims of Yahweh, your god. If Yahweh were to be replaced as "God" by Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden, or Satan, would the world be any more evil? Would your concept of "good" change? Would your morality be any different? Do you even know what "good" is? Ask an atheist. He or she probably has a better understanding of morality.(Less)
