READ THIS PART ON HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND CONFIGURE CUTEFTP
Note: there has been an update with the NES emulator, so you have to put the ROMs in the
/var/mobile/Media/ROMs/NES folder, and not the /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES folder.
Another Note: you must install BSD Subsystem and OpenSSH through Installer in your iPod before configuring your iPod to CuteFTP.
This simple tutorial tells you how to add NES games to your iPod Touch. I apologize for not having a microphone, that's why I typed everything in Word.
The two links for the web page to download games are the following:
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary%27s/Emulation/NES/ROMs/NES_roms_summary%200-L.htm#-L.htm
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary%27s/Emulation/NES/ROMs/NES_roms_summary%20M-Z.htm
The link to download CuteFTP is the following:
http://www.download.com/3001-2160_4-10696155.html
Here are the steps to install CuteFTP:
1. Open the link I gave you and download and install CuteFTP.
2. Open up the task manager and end all processes that have to do with iTunes.
3. Open up CuteFTP and configure your ipod with the window that pops up, if this isn't the first time you open CuteFTP, the window won't pop up, so go to File - Connect - Connection Wizard.
4. In "Host Address", just type your iPod's IP Address. If you don't know what that is, on you iPod, open Settings / Wi-Fi / click on the blue arrow next to your network, and there it is.
5. Click next, on this screen, they will ask you for a user name and password, for user name, type root, and for password type alpine, click next and wait.
6. On the next screen just click next, or choose a folder if you want to, then click Next, or Finish.
* When you want to connect your iPod, next time you open CuteFTP, there is a sidebar on the right, just click on the tab "Site Manager", and right click the one with your iPod's IP Address. iTunes CAN be open and running after installation, so you don't have to en all iTunes processes next time you open CuteFTP.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me.
Remember that the first step says that you have to download the NES application from the Installer application in your iPod, so you should have jailbroken your iPod previously.
I will also put up the instructions in case you don't want to watch the video XD
1. First thing you must do is download the NES emulator from Installer in your iPod Touch.
2. You must have CuteFTP installed, do you have it installed? If not, watch ipodtouchmaster's video "How to get the Iphone Apps onto your Ipod Touch!!".
3. You must download ROMs, or games, through these webpages:
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary%27s/Emulation/NES/ROMs/NES_roms_summary%200-L.htm#-L.htm
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/Libarary%27s/Emulation/NES/ROMs/NES_roms_summary%20M-Z.htm
4. Once in that webpage, select a game you want (I will use Zelda1.nes as an example), and save it somewhere on the Desktop, then open it.
5. Inside there will be another folder, open that one too.
6. Inside there will be a file named Zelda1.nes, drag that one to the desktop. You may now delete the zipped folder.
7. Now open CuteFTP and connect your iPod.
8. Open the folder called Media.
9. Once there, create a folder called ROMs (ROM with capital letters, s as a lowercase letter), and open it.
10. Once there, create a folder called NES (NES with capital letters).
11. Drag the Zelda1.nes that is in your Desktop into the NES folder in CuteFTP, wait for it to copy.
12. Once it copies, right click the copied file and select Properties. Change the Permissions to 755 and click OK.
13. Close CuteFTP and Restart your iPod.
