In the last year or so there's been some interesting and bizarre debates about the "who would win?"
So here's Bobby Diablo's Galactic Geek ground rules for this scenario taking place in DC Crisis Earth Universe 66.5:
Section A: Battlestar Galactica
1) Quit referencing the new version of Galactica. No bullets on these old school ships: Lasers & Missiles were established in the original show. The timeline of when the show occurs was sort of established by Galactica 1980, a 2nd version of the show Universal Studios is trying to forget about and so are we.
2) Very few Galactica ships can go past Light Speed. (See: The Long Patrol episode: recon viper) The Galactica was established at a max of Light speed.
3) Size wise, according to the show and show's bible then: the warship is about 3 miles long. Thats a lot of 800 year old Colonial tin and rusted pipes. Must be pretty damn durable. Union labour built?
4) Power source: was established as Tylenium fuel, and shes a plasma gas guzzler.
Section B) Star Trek (mostly old school)
5) In the episodes the Enterprise sometimes battled at sublight. The Klingons reasoning I guess, is they like to see the "terror of thier enemies eyes" thru the windows.
6) Shields. In DS9 the Jem H'dar pounded the hell out of the Federation as thier weapons cut thru shields faster than an Alien spilling blood on the decks of the Nostramo! Same principle applies here with the Galactica lasers, except the Klingon shields use a different alien tech, so the Galactica weapons aren't as effective. (Run with it, you'll enjoy the show better. Also if your of age: get a beer.)
7) The Viper pilots shoot the Galactica because a) they're in a war and a big white ship shows up, whom they don't know and kinda looks like a Klingon ship, maybe it's re-enforcements? " The design of the ship is the same." - James T Kirk- Stardate 4523.3
b) They're also trigger happy space cowboys once blood has been spilt. Note: They also cheat at Pyramid.
8)Photon Torpedoes. Yup, they kick ass and apparently can be set to change thier destructive yields. Also the Feds use hard cased torps and the Klingons use HUGE energy photon cannon ports on their bows! Go figure. In an early version we had the Battlestar Pegasus blown up after 3 Klingon torps, but hey it's a big ship with a lot of Colonial metal so we re-edited and she dies with 12-15 hits.
9) Relax, have a fumarillo and chill as in the 90 minute version everyone has a Shakepearian ending. "Let slip the dogs of war." - Some Bald Klingon General Dude named PF Chang.

This video is probably about the 15th edited version of this question. A friend of mine and I edited the original called "The All Out Attack" back in high school/1983 using his betamax and my VHS deck. We'd have all night editing marathons on the week-ends. In 2002 I re-edited a 90 minute version called "Conquest of the Galaxy" using better VHS tapes for fun, and to see if it was possible using some many different elements, and "craft/edit" a co-hesive storyline, from programs that were never meant to be together. "A 90 minute version, are you insane?" LOL. Yes I am. But surprisingly, it works. This 9 minute version plays like a explosion trailer. But its fun, if you like to watch Birds or Prey fight Vipers! It is what is, but I hope you'll enjoy the diversionary sci-fi romp. Some have requested I post the 90 minute version, I'm not going to, as you really need to be a die-hard fan and it wouldn't be as fun all chopped up in 10 minute pieces. (Less)

One of Terence McKenna's most widely promulgated ideas is known as Novelty theory. It predicts the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. McKenna developed the theory in the mid 1970s after his experiences in the Amazon at La Chorrera led him to closely study the King Wen sequence of the I-Ching. Novelty theory involves ontology, extropy, and eschatology.
The theory proposes that the universe is an engine designed for the production and conservation of novelty. Novelty, in this context, can be thought of as newness, or extropy (a term coined by Max More meaning the opposite of entropy). According to McKenna, when novelty is graphed over time, a fractal waveform known as "timewave zero" or simply the "timewave" results. The graph shows at what time periods, but never at what locations, novelty increases or decreases.
Considered by some to represent a model of history's most important events, the universal algorithm has also been extrapolated to be a model for future events. McKenna admitted to the expectation of a "singularity of novelty", and that he and his colleagues projected many hundreds of years into the future to find when this singularity (runaway "newness" or extropy) could occur. The graph of extropy had many enormous fluctuations over the last 25,000 years, but amazingly, it hit an asymptote at exactly December 22, 2012. In other words, entropy (or habituation) no longer exists after that date. It is impossible to define that state. The technological singularity concept parallels this, only at a date roughly three decades later. According to leading expert Ray Kurzweil), another concept called cultural singularity (essentially cultural dissolution, or language dissolution), parallels this as well. Terence claimed to have no knowledge of the Mayan calendar, which ends one day before the Timewave graph does: December 21, 2012, this is likely to be true as Mckennas timewave theory, also known as "Time Wave Zero", was published in The Invisible Landscape 12 years before the book which brought the Mayan calendar into public consciousness; José Argüelles's The Mayan Factor.

The BBC's review of the album said: "At only 38 minutes long Franz Ferdinand may not be a particularly long album, but it is a masterpiece of funky, punky, suave cool from the first track to the last." The All Music Guide rated the album as four out of five stars and said: "Franz Ferdinand ends up being rewarding in different ways than the band's previous work was, but it's apparent that they're still one of the more exciting groups to come out of the garage-rock / post-punk revival."
The album received an extremely positive 87 rating on MetaCritic[1] putting it among the top 100 albums rated by the site.

Franz Ferdinand is the debut album by Scottish indie rock band Franz Ferdinand, released in early 2004. It entered the United Kingdom album charts at number three in February 2004 and contains three UK top ten singles: "Take Me Out", "This Fire" (on the download chart) and "The Dark of the Matinée" or "Matinée". Franz Ferdinand won the 2004 Mercury Music Prize. The album has since sold over 3.6 million copies worldwide. The album is notable as one of the very few modern albums that are not compressed to the max in participation of the loudness war.
Chart performance
The album entered the UK album charts at #3 in February 2004 and at #12 on the Australian ARIA album charts in April 2004. The album entered the Billboard 200 album charts on April 26, 2004, and climbed slowly, peaking at #32 in December 2004. It reached #2 on the Heatseeker chart for new acts. As of September 2004, there have been five different singles released from the album:
The "Darts of Pleasure" EP reached the top 50 of the UK singles charts in September 2003.
"Take Me Out" reached the top 5 of the UK charts, top 10 of the Irish charts and top 40 in a composite European chart.
"The Dark of the Matinée" or "Matinée" reached the top 10 of the UK singles charts and top 30 of the World Modern Rock Charts (a composite chart of United States, German, UK, Swedish, Finnish, Canadian and Australian modern rock charts).
"Michael" reached the top 20 of the UK singles charts in August 2004.
"This Fire" only first played by KROQ in September 2004.
Take Me Out was voted #1 in the national Australian music poll, the Triple J Hottest 100 (2004) and This Fire and The Dark of the Matinée were placed at #29 and #50, respectively.
Reception
Franz Ferdinand received universal critical acclaim. The NME said that the band was the latest in the line of art school rock bands featuring The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Duran Duran, Roxy Music, the Sex Pistols, Wire and Blur. It rated the album as 9 out of 10 and said: "This album is the latest and most intoxicating example of the wonderful pushing its way up between the ugly slabs of Pop Idol, nu metal and Britons aping American bands. What these blossoming bands have in common is the absolute conviction that rock 'n' roll is more than a career option."
The BBC's review of the album said: "At only 38 minutes long Franz Ferdinand may not be a particularly long album, but it is a masterpiece of funky, punky, suave cool from the first track to the last." The All Music Guide rated the album as four out of five stars and said: "Franz Ferdinand ends up being rewarding in different ways than the band's previous work was, but it's apparent that they're still one of the more exciting groups to come out of the garage-rock / post-punk revival."
The album received an extremely positive 87 rating on MetaCritic[1] putting it among the top 100 albums rated by the site.
