More»n the summer of 1986, hundreds of teenagers have gathered in the woods for Estonian student summer camp-three days full of adventures, falling in love and partying. But, when the teens are forced to comply with rules of proper behavior, camp in a totalitarian system isn't all it's cracked up to be. The political metaphor of the counselors' control leads to an uprising of the students. The main character is 16-year-old Tanel, who initially is as focused on losing his virginity and getting drunk as overthrowing the system. But taking part in the revolt, he discovers himself. One of the few competition titles to generate international buzz at the Moscow film fest (where it won the Silver St. George special jury prize)... Sergi Sánchez - FIPRESCI Pig's Story By Sergi Sánchez Let's talk about pigs. They could be either 'Babe', the Mad Max of green prairies, or the allegorical boars in "Porcile", or, even of the same kind, the pigs that lead "The Revolution of Pigs", the magnificent debut film by Jaak Kilmi and Rene Reinumagi... ...over Duran Duran's greatest hits, behind the intimacy that tents provide shining as glow-worms in the night, a time for first loves and first drunkenness, "The Revolution of Pigs" throws several tons of rotten tomatoes in the face of the old Soviet communism, which oppressed the Baltic States. Pigs mean chaos, devouring the traces of a regime that applauded with so much enthusiasm the war of Afghanistan as much as the USA is now doing with the war in Iraq. Pigs are sniffing among the garbage. Pigs are the children of the revolution and, in this fortunate Estonian film, revolution must be by the young or not at all.... LASplash.com: Film Revolution of Pigs - Review By Paul J. Kowalski This feature debut from Rene Reinumagi and co-director Jaak Kilmi blends satire and comedy with a rare historical and political perspective. "Revolution of Pigs" appeals to a range of people and ages - despite its unique and captivating Estonian roots, the film's heart remains the age-old, universal struggle of youth versus adulthood, and ultimately the will for human freedom under the stranglehold of oppression..."Revolution of the Pigs" succeeds via the universally accessible vehicle of a common humanity.... Lil Boosie was born Torrence Hatch in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 14, 1983, he was bestowed the nickname Boosie by his family and was raised on W. Garfield St. in a ghetto in the mean streets of south side Baton Rouge (SSB).
Growing up, Boosie was hardened by the many difficult experiences he was put through. His neighborhood, notorious for drugs and violence, was a place feared by the general population. To outsiders, it was a jungle, to residents, it was life. Boosie got very involved in basketball to stay off the streets, and was actually expected to move on to college level basketball.
At 14 years old, Boosie moved in to live with his grandmother after his father was murdered over drugs. Growing up with no father figure and without a strong guiding hand, Boosie turned to drugs and crime. After being expelled from school, Boosie picked up freestyling and began to get serious about his music. Living in the 225, Boosie had no contacts, no real means of exposure. Lil Boosie teamed up with Baton Rouge rapper C-Loc in the late 1990s and made his debut on C-Loc's 5th album, "It's a Gamble", which also featured Three Six Mafia, South Park Mexican, and the rest of the Concentration Camp. This album was a saving grace for C-Loc, as he was slowly losing popularity. Releasing this album put him back in the spotlight, as he had a new young tallented rapper at his side. Baton Rouge couldn't get enough. Shortly afterwards, Boosie released his debut CD, "Youngest of the Camp", which sold over 10,000 units and featured fellow up and coming Baton Rouge rapper Max Minelli, which was exactly what boosie needed to jump start his career. The album spread like wildfire, every hood in Baton Rouge had flyers up for it, everybody was playing it.
After the incarceration, Boosie once again turned back to the streets. Ultimately, his behavior led to him also being incarcerated. At this point, Boosie felt as though he was a failure. However, fate lent Boosie a hand, and Boosie had an opportunity to join an up and coming record label called Trill Entertainment aka Trill Ent which was backed by Pimp-C of UGK. Trill signed Boosie and assisted him in bring his legal issues to an end. Soon after, Boosie and Trill independently released the CD "For my Thugs" under TrillEnt. This release went on to sell over 15,000 copies. Later in the summer of 2003, Boosie co-starred with one of his label-mates, Webbie, on the album "Ghetto Stories" which also went on to sell well over 15,000 copies.
Again paired up with Webbie, Lil Boosie's 2004 release, "Gangsta Musik" is what really gained him popularity. This CD featured the ever popular songs "Swerve" (which later made an appearance in the movie "Hustle and Flow"), "Give Me That", and "Bad Bitch". This was Boosie's first really popular album, actually penetrating the borders of Louisiana and reaching far beyond.
Boosie's talent was now undeniable, and he caught the eye of some Universal Records representatives. In late January of 2005, Boosie signed a deal with Universal, and released the CD "Boosie Bad Azz". This album, backed and promoted by Universal Records, was his strongest yet. In early 2007, Boosie came with yet another hit, "Wipe Me Down". West to east, North to South... Everyone had heard of this one. This was Boosie's biggest break, and no one could deny it. Teamed up with Foxx, Webbie, and other members of the Trill Family, Boosie went on to release "Trill Fam: Survival of the Fittest" on May 22, 2007. Featuring such hits as "Wipe Me Down", "Do It Stick It", and "Adios", this album rocketed to #17 on the charts. Boosie continues to gain popularity at an astonishing rate, and shows no sign of stopping soon. He's just getting started. (Less)

And of course the galactic geek question: "Who would win if the Enterprise fought the Galactica?"
In the last year or so there's been some interesting and bizarre debates about the "who would win?"
So here's Bobby Diablo's Galactic Geek ground rules for this scenario taking place in DC Crisis Earth Universe 66.5:
Section A: Battlestar Galactica
1) Quit referencing the new version of Galactica. No bullets on these old school ships: Lasers & Missiles were established in the original show. The timeline of when the show occurs was sort of established by Galactica 1980, a 2nd version of the show Universal Studios is trying to forget about and so are we.
2) Very few Galactica ships can go past Light Speed. (See: The Long Patrol episode: recon viper) The Galactica was established at a max of Light speed.
3) Size wise, according to the show and show's bible then: the warship is about 3 miles long. Thats a lot of 800 year old Colonial tin and rusted pipes. Must be pretty damn durable. Union labour built?
4) Power source: was established as Tylenium fuel, and shes a plasma gas guzzler.
Section B) Star Trek (mostly old school)
5) In the episodes the Enterprise sometimes battled at sublight. The Klingons reasoning I guess, is they like to see the "terror of thier enemies eyes" thru the windows.
6) Shields. In DS9 the Jem H'dar pounded the hell out of the Federation as thier weapons cut thru shields faster than an Alien spilling blood on the decks of the Nostramo! Same principle applies here with the Galactica lasers, except the Klingon shields use a different alien tech, so the Galactica weapons aren't as effective. (Run with it, you'll enjoy the show better. Also if your of age: get a beer.)
7) The Viper pilots shoot the Galactica because a) they're in a war and a big white ship shows up, whom they don't know and kinda looks like a Klingon ship, maybe it's re-enforcements? " The design of the ship is the same." - James T Kirk- Stardate 4523.3
b) They're also trigger happy space cowboys once blood has been spilt. Note: They also cheat at Pyramid.
8)Photon Torpedoes. Yup, they kick ass and apparently can be set to change thier destructive yields. Also the Feds use hard cased torps and the Klingons use HUGE energy photon cannon ports on their bows! Go figure. In an early version we had the Battlestar Pegasus blown up after 3 Klingon torps, but hey it's a big ship with a lot of Colonial metal so we re-edited and she dies with 12-15 hits.
9) Relax, have a fumarillo and chill as in the 90 minute version everyone has a Shakepearian ending. "Let slip the dogs of war." - Some Bald Klingon General Dude named PF Chang.
So as Stan Lee says: Excelsior! True Believer!
This video is probably about the 15th edited version of this question. A friend of mine and I edited the original called "The All Out Attack" back in high school/1983 using his betamax and my VHS deck. We'd have all night editing marathons on the week-ends. In 2002 I re-edited a 90 minute version called "Conquest of the Galaxy" using better VHS tapes for fun, and to see if it was possible using some many different elements, and "craft/edit" a co-hesive storyline, from programs that were never meant to be together. "A 90 minute version, are you insane?" LOL. Yes I am. But surprisingly, it works. This 9 minute version plays like a explosion trailer. But its fun, if you like to watch Birds or Prey fight Vipers! It is what is, but I hope you'll enjoy the diversionary sci-fi romp. Some have requested I post the 90 minute version, I'm not going to, as you really need to be a die-hard fan and it wouldn't be as fun all chopped up in 10 minute pieces. (Less)

Sept 1st - Datel selling Pandora clones called Max Power, however they don't work on their own and you still need the Pandora memory card image to access Service Mode. Cost of $24.99. Unfortunately, since a HEned PSP is required to make the files needed, the battery by itself is useless.
Sept 2nd - LAIR, the dragon fighting flight simulator for PS3 (yes, I made a mistake on this in the video) is the first game to use remote play feature. You can control your dragon and watch the game remotely from your PSP.
Sept 3rd - CXMB v2.31 is released, allowing the use of themes on 3.40 and 3.52 custom firmwares with no flashing involved.
http://tinyurl.com/yumsjt
Sept 5th, Sept 6th - PSP Slim officially go on sale in Europe and the US respectively. The slim is priced $169.99 US. Featuring a brand new TA-085 motherboard. Shipped with 3.60 firmware.
Sept 6th - Sony officially bans all homebrew-related discussion on their message boards. They released a laundry list of things that can no longer be discussed on Sony message boards including custom firmware, theme applications, emulators, cheat programs, firmware flashing, and more.
Sept 6th - PSP Slim Sony firmware 3.60 dumped by Mathieulh with the help of Dark Alex. As you may know, dumping a firmware is the first step in hacking it.
Sept 8th - iR Shell v3.62 out, compatible with 3.52 M33
http://tinyurl.com/2878tb
Sept 9th - Fanjita and Team Noobz release the 3.11 Fw HEN/Downgrader. This downgrader uses the US or EUR version of Lumines.
http://tinyurl.com/26hld6
Sept 10th - Team M33 release 3.60 M33 cfw for PSP Slim. Has all the features of 3.52 M33 except 1.50 kernal support - meaning it a much lower homebrew compatibility rate. Uses the pandora battery for installation.
http://tinyurl.com/yrvjmt
Sept 10th - Sony released official 3.70 firmware.
Sept 10th - PSP Brightness fix for TA-082 and TA-086 motherboards. Fixed the brightness problem caused by earlier downgraders on certain motherboards. Not to be used in firmwares higher than 3.51 M33-7.
http://tinyurl.com/27pmer
Sept 12th - Sony begins releasing official themes for firmware 3.70. 10 themes are released: cookies, classy pink, lemmings, wipeout, and pursuit force. Several themes appear to be subtle advertising for the games they represent.
Sept 13th - Official Sony firmware 3.71 released. New features include support for "custom" themes, assigning buttons in remote play, scene search feature in video as well as sequential playback, and music can now be played while viewing pictures in Photo (it's about time).
Sept 15th - Team Noobz released eLOADER V1.000 to help run certain homebrew on the Slim 3.60 M33.
http://tinyurl.com/26tgzq
Sept 17th - Tean NeoFlash releases a custom made Motion sensor kit reported to work with all fat PSPs.
Sept 21st - Normal boot loader for P_B. Booster of DevHook fame releases an application to allow you to load into your firwmare normally while using a P_B battery. This can remove the need for having more than one battery or for having to un-Pandora your battery after every use.
http://tinyurl.com/22mttd
Sept 21st - Ahman, maker of iR Shell announces that he is working on an app to allow PSPs to play PSX games two player via wifi.
Sept 23rd - Team M33 released CFW 3.71 M33. Team M33 announces that they are Dark_AleX and friends. Unfortunately, 3.71 M33 has been proven to have several bugs and vulnerabilities so it's unwise to update to it at this time.
Sept 24th - Sony releases new "Pandora-proof" batteries. PSP-110. Don't buy a new Sony battery if you're planning on making a Pandora. Also, keep in mind many budget batteries cannot be made into Pandoras either.
Sept 28th - Sony Japan releases an official PSP Theme Maker (it's about time)
Sept 28th - In Japan, PSP outsells all other consoles combined for the week ending sept 23rd. This success was of course aided by the release of crisis core: final fantasy 7. The PSP sold 277k units, DS in second place with 70k, then wii with 24k, ps2 with 11k and ps3 with 10k. Never underestimate the power of Final Fantasy.
Sept 28th - Dark_AleX releases Despertar Cementerio, a universal unbricker for PSPs fat and slim. According to DA, you should only restore dumps made with your own PSPs. He said using a dump from another PSP could lead to brickage or idstorage corruption.
http://tinyurl.com/yureyo
Sept 30th - Dark_AleX releases 1.50 kernel addon for fat only versions of 3.71 M33. Again, due to some issues with 3.71 M33, it is advised that you stay at 3.40 OE/* or 3.52 M33-4.

Xavier
Eight-piece funk group featured Ernest 'Xavier' Smith (lead guitar/bass/lead vocals), Ayanna Little (lead vocals), Tim Williams (drums), Ralph Hunt Jnr (bass), Jeffrey Mitchell (guitar), Lyburn Downing (percussion), Emonie Branch and Chuck Hughes (vocals). Smith started in the mid—60s as bass player with the Coasters. Between 1969 and 1973 he joined Wilson Pickett's backing band the Midnight Movers and later worked with Isaac Hayes and the Temptations. In the late 70s he moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he transformed local group the Shades Of Directions into Xavier and LUV (Life's Universal Vibration). The group joined Liberty, shortened their name and released their first single 'Work That Sucker To Death'. This dance record with a positive message also featured Smith's old friend Bootsy Collins, and George Clinton. The record went into the R&B Top 10 and made the UK charts in 1982. Their follow-up 'Do It To The Max' also reached the R&B chart and their album Point Of Pleasure narrowly missed the Top 100, yet despite this encouraging start the group were not to chart again.
