It is a beautiful anti-phonetic love song. The singers used a typical Miao singing technique: Miao Vibrato. It is interesting to compare Miao Vibrato with Korean Vibrato (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wo47IO9zYY ). A key feature of the Miao Vibrato is that it sounds like a resonance from the mountain. It reminds the audience that many Miao people are living in mountain areas. So when you listen to this song, you fell like you are in a beautiful green mountain with fresh air surrounding you.
About Duo-Die Duo-Ah's performance in the National Youth Singing Contest:
This song is Duo-Die Duo-Ah's performance in the first round of the final stage competition of the 12th National Youth Singing Contest hosted by CCTV. Duo-Die Duo-Ah was ranked 7th after four-round competition. Since only 6 singers/bands were awarded medals, Duo-Die Duo-Ah did not win any medal in 2006. Actually their performance was excellent in the 1st and the 2nd round of the final stage competition. However, they made a small mistake in the 3rd round by choosing a song that is not love song. Their strength was apparently love song because their performance of love songs was very touching. Actually the audience felt that their hearts were filled with love when they listened to Duo-Die Duo-Ah's love songs. And Duo-Die Duo-Ah ranked 2nd in the 1st and the 2nd round because of their excellent performance. However, their mistake in the 3rd round was very costly, making them lose the chance of winning a medal. After the contest, all girls in this band could not hold themselves and kept crying. In fact, the competition in the national singing contest was extremely intensified. Any small mistake could kill a singer/band. While it was a very sad thing in 2006, I wish that Duo-Die Duo-Ah do not forget a famous Chinese saying "The true gold will be shining one day".
About Duo-Die Duo-Ah:
Duo-Die Duo-Ah in Miao (Hmong) language means "Brothers and Sisters". This band comes from Taijiang county of Miao & Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Southeast Guizhou (also known as Qiandongnan).Their hometown is a beautiful and appealing place, where the local Miao & Dong people use songs to express their love, tell their history, and entertain themselves. Nearly 98% population in Taijiang county are ethnic Miao Chinese, who are experts of dancing and singing. When Guizhou province held a "Colorful Guizhou" song contest, 2,000 people in Taijiang registered the contest in a short time!
Like their ancestors, six members of Duo-Die Duo-Ah love singing & dancing. Song is the best media for the youths of Miao to know each other. Xin-xiong Zhang, a member of Duo-Die Duo-Ah, knew his current wife via his song. He sang songs for seven days & nights in order to lure his wife. He said, "When I was hungry, I went back for food and then returned to hillside to keep singing, I was very happy and did not feel tired at that time".
The life of Juan Ou, a girl in this band, has changed because of singing. Juan Ou's mother is a famous local singer. She learned a lot from her mother. She did not continue to study after graduating from the junior high-school. It has been her regret for a long time. However, she did not stop singing. She said, "I felt happy when I was singing. So why not singing songs"? After Duo-Die Duo-Ah got a good result (ranking 7th) in the 12th National Youth Singing Contest, Juan Ou was recommended to Guizhou College of Nationalities, waived of entrance examinations.
The good news of Duo-Die Duo-Ah kept coming. Xuan Wu applied Guizhou University and was admitted by its Department of Music in its Art School.
Juan Ou said, "I feel that our aboriginal Miao songs also need innovation. Based on the aboriginal Miao songs, I want to borrow some good musical elements from other forms of songs. It is important for Miao songs to be improved over time".

Just over the wall from the wall can be seen the columbarium or dovecote - see ill. 38, which was built in the time of the Templars but had fallen into disrepair by the time the Hospitallers took over, this is confirmed in an account of the property written by John-de-la-Haye in 1313. Although very feint now, there is a Latin inscription over the door which in The Gentleman's Magazine of 1907, p.635, the Reverend John Webb stated read in abbreviated form: The full version is, " Anno Domini millesimo trecentesimo vicesimo sexto factum fuit istud columbare fratrem Ricardum", which in translation reads, "In the year of our Lord 1326 this dovecote was built by Richard", - see ill. 39, this is thought to be somewhat of an exaggeration and probably means that he repaired the dovecote in 1326. John Webb also remarks that on his visit he also noticed another inscription in the interior of the dovecote which read, "GILBE RTVS", whoever Gilbertus was remains a mystery, perhaps he helped Brother Richard in the restoration of the building? Webb describes other stones carved with, "the double cross of the Templars, accompanied in one instance with the letter R, of the scriptorial form". The upper part of the roof is 'dished' which allowed rainwater to feed through an opening into a round cistern on the floor, this then supplied the pigeons with drinking and washing water, Bond, 2004, p.151. Inside there are 20 tiers each consisting of 33 nesting holes which gives a total of 666 holes.
The Knights Templar were given land in Llangarewi by King Henry II in 1180. The Ministry of Taxation has revealed plans to introduce individual tax numbers for every citizen.
