I am simply an avid fan of her new book, The Luxe. I received it Christmas Eve, read it Christmas Day and promptly knew I had to make a video for it.
I STRONGLY encourage you to READ THIS BOOK. It is fantastic - in the same league as the Gemma Doyle & Twilight trilogies. And the best part is that this author is planning more books in this series so there is more to look forward to!
I don't want to spoil the book for anyone with a detailed synopsis but I don't want to confuse anyone so here's a bit of background. It basically chronicals the lives of two sisters, the lovely blonde Elizabeth Holland and her passionate, free-spirited sister Diana. Things get messy when Elizabeth falls in love below her station but is forcibly engaged to society dreamboat Henry Schoonmaker. Things get even more complicated when Henry begins to take a particular interest in Diana.
For more info, READ THIS BOOK! I promise, you will not be disappointed.
Regarding the video: I used clips from the BBC miniseries Wives and Daughters as well as a TV version of Dracula (2006). It was a little difficult to mesh them and unfortunately, both of the leading men are quite similar in appearence. To avoid confusion, there are 5 characters - the blonde girl is Elizabeth and the brunette is Diana. The guy with light brown/blonde hair that is always dressed up in a suit is supposed to be Henry and the ruggedly handsome stud in plain clothes (that is constantly portrayed with the blonde girl) is Will Keller. And the haughty looking girl with narrow, slitted eyes thats constantly dressed in red is Penelope Hayes, Elizabeth's scheming, unscrupulous friend.
For those good with names:
Elizabeth Holland - Sophia Myles
Diana Holland - Justine Waddell
Will Keller - Anthony Howell
Henry Schoonmaker - Dan Stevens
Penelope Hayes - Rosamund Pike

Newcomer Jake McVey made the decision to walk away from a lucrative business (More) www.jakemcvey.com Within every musical soul, there’s always an inner battle between security and creativity. Newcomer Jake McVey made the decision to walk away from a lucrative business designing and building custom guitars to pursue his dream. Instead of providing instruments for others to play music, he decided to step out and make his own. "It was a scary leap," confesses McVey, who just released his second album, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. "Everyone always wants security, but I always knew I was going to go this direction. It got to the point where I was doing a ton of shows and still working the day job. I always knew I was going to make music and somehow you just come to the point where it’s time. I bought a bus, sold everything I had, moved in it and went on the road." The decision has paid off as McVey has become one of the most in demand young acts in country music. Performing 300 shows last year, he was named one of the Top Ten touring acts by Billboard magazine. His experience encompasses a variety of venues from sold out clubs to opening for Martina McBride in front of a crowd of 22,000. His high-energy stage show has earned the respect of fellow performers as he’s paid his dues opening for Dierks Bentley, Sugarland, Keith Anderson, Jason Aldean and Little Big Town, among others. This year he was booked for 10 consecutive nights at the Iowa State Fair. "I love to entertain, that’s my drug," says McVey, whose upbeat attitude and impressive work ethic are nearly as appealing as his fresh country sound. "I love people, the more the better. I don’t really get butterflies anymore. It’s just great to entertain and do what you love to do." Performing for fans all across the country is the fulfillment of a dream Jake had been preparing for most of his life. "My mom played piano and my dad was a drummer, so music was always going around the house," recalls McVey, who grew up working on is parents’ Iowa farm. "I knew at a young age that music is I wanted to do. Once I graduated, I moved to Phoenix to learn how to build guitars at the Roberto-Venn School of Luithery. Now most all of them---except one---that I play on stage are the ones that I built. When I first started and my tour schedule wasn’t so busy, I had my own little shop, but it started getting bigger and my goals were still here in the industry. I said ‘I can do this when I retire.’ I still build every once in a while for myself." McVey’s first CD attracted attention, especially with the singles "Unknown Highway" and "One of Those Days." Still McVey admits it wasn’t easy when he first hit the road. "I had to sell some of my prized guitars to keep things a float for a while," says McVey, whose high-energy stage show and skill as a guitarist has elicited comparisons to Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. "It was tough, but my approach was the old way of just taking the music to the people. And Of course, we’re Internet savvy and that’s helped too." His knowledge of instruments as well a wealth of performing experience that taught him what an audience wants coalesce on Jake’s new album. "Tone is everything that’s for sure," he says of carefully selecting the instruments he used on his latest recording. "I play a lot of lead, the Keith Urban thing instead of just strumming acoustic or playing rhythm. I’ll do that when I need to, but when I rip off a solo, I have as much fun as the rest of them. It’s a part of my life." A gifted singer and songwriter, McVey cites a diverse array of influences including Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Brad Paisley. "Instrument driven artists are the ones that inspired me a lot," says McVey, who writes regularly for www.guitarjamdaily.com. "Sometimes there’s nothing more powerful than just sitting on a stool and playing a song." Produced by J. Gary Smith, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE is a potent collection of songs that explore life’s challenges and celebrate the triumphs. Mixing youthful optimism with a hard dose of cold reality, McVey’s music taps a universal current of emotion. On the Even Stevens-penned "Carry On," McVey’s warm, soulful vocal reminds us that "what don’t kill us makes us strong." It’s an emotional song that explores some heartbreaking scenarios yet still offers up hope. "I Want to Live Like That" is a thoughtful look at a life well lived and the things that matter most. "Times Like These" is a poignant ballad with an understated melody and a lyric that celebrates the cornerstones of life---love and faith. McVey also turns in a compelling version of the John Rich tune "I Pray for You," which serves as a perfect vehicle for his road-tested, emotion-laded vocals. "Any Road Will Get You There" boasts a catchy chorus and infectious melody, and McVey’s skill as a songwriter shines on "Maybe." The title track, "Anything Is Possible," was penned by Catt Gravitt and Carl Falk. "It’s just a good positive tune," says McVey, "and we got the idea of doing pay it forward things, kind of like the ‘Pay It Forward’ movie. When we go on tour, we’ll visit nursing homes or children’s hospitals before our show in that town and do a 45-minute acoustic show. It’s great. I’ve heard 90 something-year-old women who can whistle louder than I can. They are just having a heck of a time. It feels good to go into a town and give something back." McVey’s music has a sense of purpose and an ever-present element of fun. When he first embarked on this journey, he told his dad "failure is not an option." He bought a bus, hit the road and has never looked back. McVey embodies the title track to his new record and proved that with hard work and creative passion, anything IS possible. "It’s a lot of work," he says, "but it always does pay off as long as you have heart behind the wheel." (Less)

Musicians and critics today recognize him as one of the founders of soul music, and as one of the most important singers in soul music history.[1] He has been called "the king of soul" by many, and while some may dispute this title, Sam Cooke's legacy is an extensive one and his impact on soul music is undeniable. He had 29 Top 40 hits in the U.S. between 1957 and 1965. He is therefore seen by many as "the creator" of the genre. Major hits like "You Send Me", "Chain Gang", "Wonderful World" and "Bring It on Home to Me" are among some of his most popular songs. Cooke was also among the first modern black performers and composers to attend to the business side of his musical career.[1] He founded both a record label and a publishing company as an extension of his careers as a singer and composer. He also took an active part in the Civil Rights Movement,[1] using his musical ability to bridge gaps between black and white audiences. Biography Sam Cook was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. He added an "e" onto the end of his name because he thought it added a touch of class. He was one of seven children of Annie Mae and the Reverend Charles Cook, a Baptist minister. The family moved to Chicago in 1933. Cooke began his musical career as a member of a quartet with his siblings, The Singing Children, and, as a teenager, he was a member of the Highway QCs, a gospel group. In 1950, at the age of 19, he joined The Soul Stirrers and achieved significant success and fame within the gospel community. His first pop single, "Lovable" (1956), was released under the alias of "Dale Cooke" in order to not alienate his fan base; there was a considerable taboo against gospel singers performing secular music. However, the alias failed to hide Cooke's unique and distinctive vocals. No one was fooled. Art Rupe, head of Specialty Records, the label of the Soul Stirrers, gave his blessing for Cooke to record secular music under his real name, but he was unhappy about the type of music Cooke and producer Bumps Blackwell were making. Rupe expected Cooke's secular music to be similar to that of another Specialty Records artist, Little Richard. When Rupe walked in on a recording session and heard Cooke covering Gershwin, he was quite upset. After an argument between Rupe and Blackwell, Cooke and Blackwell left the label(Greene, 2006). In 1957, Cooke signed with Keen Records. His first release was "You Send Me", which spent six weeks at #1 on the Billboard R&B chart. The song also had massive mainstream success, spending three weeks at #1 on the Billboard pop chart. In addition to his success in writing his own songs and achieving mainstream fame a truly remarkable accomplishment for an R&B singer at that time Cooke continued to astonish the music business in the 1960s with the founding of his own label, SAR Records (Greene, 2006), which soon included The Simms Twins, The Valentinos, Bobby Womack, and Johnnie Taylor. Cooke then created a publishing imprint and management firm, then left Keen to sign with RCA Victor. One of his first RCA singles was the hit "Chain Gang." It reached #2 on the Billboard pop chart. This was followed by more hits, including "Sad Mood", "Bring it on Home to Me" (with Lou Rawls on backing vocals), "Another Saturday Night" and "Twistin' the Night Away". Like most R&B artists of his time, Cooke focused on singles; in all he had 29 top 40 hits on the pop charts, and more on the R&B charts. In spite of this, he released a critically acclaimed blues-inflected LP in 1963, Night Beat. He was known for having written many of the most popular songs of all time in the genre, and is often unaccredited for many of them by the general public[citation needed]. Cooke died at the age of 33 under mysterious circumstances on December 11, 1964 in Los Angeles, California. Though the details of the case are still in dispute, the official story was that he was shot to death by Bertha Franklin, manager of the Hacienda Motel in South Los Angeles, who claimed that he had threatened her, and that she killed him in self-defense. The verdict was justifiable homicide, though many believe that crucial details did not come out in court, or were buried afterward. Cooke was interred in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Glendale, California. Some posthumous releases followed, many of which became hits, including "A Change Is Gonna Come", an early protest song which is generally regarded as his greatest composition. After Cooke's death, his widow, Barbara, married Bobby Womack. Cooke's daughter, Linda, later married Bobby's brother, Cecil. Cooke was inducted as a charter member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986(Greene, 2006). [edit] Death The details of the case involving Sam Cooke's death are still in dispute. The official police record[2] states that Cooke was shot to death by Bertha Franklin, the manager of the Hacienda Motel, where Cooke had checked in earlier that evening. Franklin claimed that Cooke had broken into the manager's office/apartment in a rage, wearing nothing but a shoe and an overcoat (and nothing beneath it) demanding to know the whereabouts of a woman who had accompanied him to the motel. Franklin said that the woman was not in the office and that she told Cooke this, but the enraged Cooke did not believe her and violently grabbed her demanding again to know the woman's whereabouts. According to Franklin, she grappled with Cooke, the two of them fell to the floor, and she then got up and ran to retrieve her gun. She said that she then fired at Cooke in self-defense because she feared for her life. According to Franklin, Cooke exclaimed, "Lady, you shot me," before finally falling, mortally wounded. According to Franklin and to the motel's owner, Evelyn Carr, they had been on the phone together at the time of the incident. Thus, Carr claimed to have overheard Cooke's intrusion and the ensuing conflict and gunshots. Carr called the police to request that they go to the motel, informing them that she believed a shooting had occurred. A coroner's inquest was convened to investigate the incident. The woman who had accompanied Cooke to the motel was identified as Elisa Boyer, who had also called the police that night shortly before Carr did. Boyer had called the police from a phone booth near the motel, telling them she had just escaped from being kidnapped. Boyer told the police that she had first met Cooke earlier that night and had spent the evening in his company. She claimed that after they left a local nightclub together, she had repeatedly requested that he take her home, but that he instead took her against her will to the Hacienda Motel. She claimed that once in one of the motel's rooms, Cooke physically forced her onto the bed and that she was certain he was going to rape her. According to Boyer, when Cooke stepped into the bathroom for a moment, she quickly grabbed her clothes and ran from the room. She claimed that in her haste, she had also scooped up most of Cooke's clothing by mistake. She said that she ran first to the manager's office and knocked on the door seeking help. However, she said that the manager took too long in responding, so, fearing Cooke would soon be coming after her, she fled the motel altogether before the manager ever opened the door. She claimed she then put her own clothing back on, stashed Cooke's clothing away and went to the phone booth from which she called police. Boyer's story is the only account of what happened between the two that night. However, her story has long been called into question. Due to inconsistencies between her version of events and details reported by other witnesses, as well as other circumstantial evidence (e.g. cash Cooke was reportedly carrying that was never recovered, and the fact that Boyer was soon after arrested for prostitution), many people feel it is more likely that Boyer went willingly to the motel with Cooke, and then slipped out of the room with Cooke's clothing in order to rob him, rather than in order to escape an attempted rape. Ultimately though, such questions were beyond the scope of the inquest, whose purpose was simply to establish the circumstances of Franklin's role in the shooting, not to determine exactly what had happened between Cooke and Boyer preceding that. Boyer's leaving the motel room with almost all of Cooke's clothing in tow, regardless of exactly why she did so, combined with the fact that tests showed Cooke was inebriated at the time, seemed to provide a plausible explanation for Cooke's bizarre behavior and state of dress, as reported by Franklin and Carr. This explanation together with the fact that Carr, from what she said she had overheard, corroborated Franklin's version of events, was enough to convince the coroner's jury to accept Franklin's explanation that it was a case of justifiable homicide. And with that verdict, authorities officially closed the case on Cooke's death.[3] However, some of Cooke's family and supporters have rejected not only Boyer's version of events, but also Franklin's and Carr's. They believe that there was a conspiracy from the start to murder Cooke, that this murder took place in some manner entirely different from the official account of Cooke's intrusion into Franklin's office/apartment, and that Franklin, Boyer and Carr were all lying to provide a cover story for this murder. None have been able to provide any evidence of this, however.[1] [2] [3] My brother was first class all the way. He would not check into a $3-a-night motel; that wasn't his style. Agnes Cooke-Hoskins, sister of Sam Cooke, attending the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 2005 tribute to Cooke. In her autobiography, Rage To Survive, singer Etta James claimed that she viewed Cooke's body in the funeral home and that the injuries she observed were well beyond what could be explained by the official account of Franklin alone having fought with Cooke. James described Cooke as having been so badly beaten that his head was nearly decapitated from his shoulders, his hands were broken and crushed and his nose was mangled. Nevertheless, no solid, reviewable evidence supporting a conspiracy theory has been presented to date. However, in Our Uncle Sam: The Sam Cooke Story From His Family's Perspective, the biography written by Cooke's great-nephew, he discusses little-known facts, glaring inconsistencies, and an alternate scenario to the singer's death. [edit] Legacy Cooke's influence has been immense: even people who have never heard one of his records have still heard his voice and phrasing if they have listened to Rod Stewart or Southside Johnny. Other rock artists with a notable Cooke heritage include The Animals, Simon and Garfunkel, Van Morrison, James Taylor, the Beatles (particularly John Lennon), John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Marriott, Terry Reid, Steve Perry, and numerous others, while R&B and soul artists indebted to Cooke include Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Otis Redding, David Ruffin, Bobby Womack, Johnnie Taylor, Lou Rawls, Al Green, The Temptations, Philippe Wynne, Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples, Ben E. King, and many more. Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" was memorably featured in Spike Lee's film, Malcolm X and was most recently redone by the group Solo. Rapper 2Pac references Sam Cooke in a line of the song "Thugz Mansion," as well as rapper Nas, who references him in the song "We Major" with Kanye West. In the Roots song "Stay Cool" the lyrics say, "I got the soul of a young Sam Cooke". Other notable artists include India.Arie, Joe Budden, the Wallflowers, and John Legend. On the West Wing (television) episode "A Change Is Gonna Come", James Taylor performs Sam Cooke's song by the same name in tribute to Cooke. Cat Stevens hadn't released a song that he didn't write until 1974 when he released his Greatest Hits album with a cover of Sam Cooke's "Another Saturday Night". He also released it as a single which reached No.4 in the US. Southern radio stations can be picked up at night in Jamaica, and Cooke's recordings were a major influence on the singing style of Bob Marley. John Landis has used many of Cooke's recording for his films such as Animal House and American Werewolf in London. Cooke was an influence on punk vocalist Mia Zapata of The Gits, who honored him with a cover of "A Change Is Gonna Come" on their album Enter: The Conquering Chicken. Shortly following his passing, Motown Records released We Remember Sam Cooke, a collection of Cooke covers recorded by The Supremes. In 1966 the now cult '60s British pop show Ready Steady Goes Live, the live version of Ready, Steady, Go devoted a whole programe to a live performance of Soul singer Otis Redding, who regularly covered many of Cooke's songs. One of the highlights was a rousing version of "Shake" on which Redding was joined by British Soul legends Eric Burdon, lead singer of The Animals, and chart topper Chris Farlowe. The programme is acclaimed by many as the best episode of the whole series. After being featured prominently in the 1985 film Witness (1985 movie) [4] (starring Harrison Ford), the song "Wonderful World" gained further exposure. "Wonderful World" was featured as one of two concurrently running a Levi's Jeans commercials in 1985 and became a hit in the United Kingdom because of this, reaching #2 in re-release. Other notable movies that featured his music Animal House ("Wonderful World" and "Twistin' The Night Away") and Cadence ("Chain Gang"). In 1999, Cooke was honored with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked him #16 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[4]. Erik Greene's Our Uncle Sam: The Sam Cooke Story From His Family's Perspective, is an introspective look into Cooke's life, music, and controversial death. Voted "Best of 2006" by Soul-Patrol.com, Our Uncle Sam compiles the intimate memories and never-before-seen photographs of Cooke. In 2007 Irish rock-group Jetplane Landing released the album Backlash Cop featuring the song "Sam Cooke". Arctic Monkeys selected 'Cupid' for their Radio 1 Playlist. (Less)

Seeing the opportunity to take the money and start a new life, Marion leaves town and heads towards Sam's California store. Tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the main highway and pulls into The Bates Motel. The motel is managed by a quiet young man called Norman who seems to be dominated by his mother. Written by Col Needham {col@imdb.com} For Marion Crane, it's been quite an eventful day. The day before, she had stolen $40,000 from her employer's client, packed her bags and driven all day on her way to join her paramour several hundred miles away. Now, she is taking a relaxing hot shower after her long day's journey. The remoteness of the motel suit her purposes perfectly. The only sounds heard are the chirping of the crickets, the splashing of the water, and her humming contentedly as the hot needles of water caress her aching shoulders. Leave It to Beaver Leave It to Beaver is an American television situation comedy about an idealized American family of the 1950s. CBS first aired the show on October 4, 1957, but decided to drop it within a year. ABC picked it up and ran it for another five years, from October 2, 1958 to June 20, 1963. It was produced by Gomalco Productions (1957-1961) and by Kayro Productions (1961-1963), and distributed by Revue Studios. Premise The show is built around young Theodore Cleaver (Jerry Mathers) and the trouble he gets himself into while navigating his way through an often-incomprehensible, sometimes-illogical world. When he was a baby, his older brother Wally (Tony Dow) mispronounced "Theodore" as "Tweedor". Their firm-but-loving parents, Ward (Hugh Beaumont) and June Cleaver (Barbara Billingsley), felt "Beaver" sounded better. Beaver's friends include the perpetually apple-munching Larry Mondello (Rusty Stevens) in the early seasons, and, later, Gilbert Bates (Stephen Talbot), as well as the old fireman, Gus (Burt Mustin). His sweet-natured-but-no-nonsense elementary school teachers are Miss Canfield (to whom Beaver declares his love in the episode entitled "Beaver's Crush") (Diane Brewster) and Miss Landers (Sue Randall); Mrs. Rayburn (Doris Packer) is the principal. In the early seasons, Beaver's nemesis in class is Judy Hensler (Jeri Weil). His brother Wally is popular with both peers and adults, getting into trouble much less frequently. He letters in four sports and has little difficulty attracting girlfriends, among them Mary Ellen Rogers (Pamela Baird) and Julie Foster (Cheryl Holdridge). His pals include the awkward Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford (Frank Bank) and smart aleck Eddie Haskell (Ken Osmond), the archetype of the two-faced wiseguy, a braggard among his peers and an obsequious yes man to the adults he mocks behind their backs. Eddie often picks on the Beaver. The family lives in the fictional town of Mayfield. Beaver attends Grant Ave. Grammar School, and Wally, Mayfield High School (after graduating from Grant Ave. in season one). Cast =List of Leave It to Beaver cast members Jerry Mathers as Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver. The casting directors noticed that Mathers was uneasy and asked him where he'd rather be. Mathers replied that he'd rather be at camp. That boyish youthfulness got Mathers the part of Beaver.[citation needed] Tony Dow as Wally Cleaver Hugh Beaumont as Ward Cleaver. Before he made Ward Cleaver his acting trademark, Beaumont sometimes played villains in film and television. Most familiarly, he played a former convict, Dan Grayson, struggling to go straight for the sake of his wife and son, in 1953's "The Big Squeeze" episode of Adventures of Superman, a few years before Beaver. He directed a number of Leave It to Beaver episodes in the last two seasons, including the final one, the retrospective "Family Scrapbook". Beaumont was an ordained Methodist minister, who from 1974 until his death, sold live Christmas trees. Barbara Billingsley as June Cleaver. Billingsley has said that June Cleaver's wardrobe was more than a fashion statement. The pearl necklace hid neck shadows and high-heeled shoes were employed to offset the boys' growing height. Ken Osmond as Eddie Haskell. Osmond became a cop, serving eighteen years with the Los Angeles Police Department. Diane Brewster as Miss Canfield Sue Randall as Miss Landers Stephen Talbot as Gilbert Bates. Talbot works as a reporter for PBS' Frontline. Rusty Stevens as Larry Mondello Richard Correll as Richard Rickover Stanley Fafara as Whitey Whitney Jeri Weil as Judy Hensler Burt Mustin as Gus the fireman Frank Bank as Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford Richard Deacon as Fred Rutherford, Lumpy's pompous, demanding father and Ward Cleaver's equally pompous, smug co-worker. Deacon was working a second job for much of the life of Leave It to Beaver; he was concurrently Alan Brady's (Carl Reiner's) brother-in-law/producer and Buddy Sorrell's Morey Amsterdam's foil on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Buddy Hart as Chester Anderson Tiger Fafara as Tooey Brown Pamela Baird as Mary Ellen Rogers Cheryl Holdridge as Julie Foster Cultural influence Leave It to Beaver often aimed toward a moral lesson and is referenced even now as an emblem of simpler American times. Ward stated that his father "had a fine sense of values",[1] and if Ward himself sometimes seemed possessed of the gentility of a man of the cloth, it may have come from Beaumont's own background: he had become an ordained minister before he took up an acting career. June Cleaver, likewise, became a model of the archetypal suburban 1950s mother who wanted nothing more than to stay at home and take care of the family. The show strongly promoted the importance of family. The recurring themes expounded parental expectations for children, while the moral messages stressed the importance of teaching children proper behavior. Proper parenting techniques and methods for resolving problems and achieving consensus were demonstrated. The pervasive influence of the show was the subject of a theory proposed in 1965: that a prime cause of the Watts Riots was "Television Kitchens." A study was done of they types of kitchens that appeared in TV commercials for cleaning products and in sit-coms, like Leave It to Beaver. Those shown on TV belonged in houses worth far more than the average house at the time. But these kitchens were being shown over and over, day after day, to people whose own kitchens did not match up. The implicit comparison was obvious: "That's typical, and this is what I've got?" [2] Episodes The pilot episode, which aired on April 23, 1957, was entitled It's a Small World.[3] It featured Max Showalter as Ward Cleaver, and Paul Sullivan as Wally Cleaver. TBS re-aired the pilot on Sunday, October 4, 1987, to commemorate the show's 30th anniversary. Syndication After 234 episodes, Leave It to Beaver ceased first-run production; however, the show didn't stay off the air for very long: reruns were part of CBS affiliates' lineups in the mornings for several years to come. TBS showed it for many years in the late 1980s, and now it airs on TV Land—where it has been shown since July 1998. Today, NBC Universal Television owns the syndication rights and all properties related to the series. Spinoffs A made-for-television reunion movie, Still the Beaver, appeared in 1983. The main original cast appeared, except for Beaumont, who had died the previous year. Ward Cleaver was still a presence, however: the film's story used numerous flashbacks to the original show, as it followed young-adult Beaver's struggle to reconcile divorce and newly-minted single fatherhood, straining to cope by what his father might or might not have done, while facing the possibility of his widowed mother selling their childhood home. June Cleaver is later elected to the Mayfield City Council. Its reception led to a new first-run, made-for-cable series, The New Leave It to Beaver (1985--1989), with Beaver and Lumpy Rutherford running Ward's old firm (where Lumpy's pompous, demanding father — played by Richard Deacon in the original series — had been the senior partner), Wally as a practicing attorney and expectant father, June having sold the old house to Beaver himself but living with him as a doting grandmother to Beaver's two small sons. Eddie Haskell runs his own contracting business and has a son, Freddie, who is every inch his father's son — right down to the dual-personality. Feature film 1997's movie adaptation of the series starred Christopher McDonald as Ward, Janine Turner as June, Erik von Detten as Wally, and Cameron Finley as Beaver. It was panned by many critics, except for Roger Ebert, who gave it a three-star rating. It flopped at the box office, earning only $11,713,605. Original TV co-stars Barbara Billingsley, Ken Osmond, and Frank Bank made cameo appearances in the film. The Cleaver house The Cleavers' address for the first two seasons was 485 Mapleton Drive, Mayfield. In the season-one episode "Beaver's Old Friend", Beaver states that the teddy bear (the "old friend") was given to him by his aunt at their old house, which implies that the Mapleton Drive was their second home. The family moved to 211 Pine Street, also in Mayfield, in season three. This house can still be seen at Universal Studios, though with the facade built for the 1996 production of the Leave it to Beaver movie — the original facade sits in storage elsewhere on the Universal lot (it was replaced in 1988 by the Klopek house for the following year's The 'Burbs) and is not shown on the tour. In 1969, it was used as the house for another Universal-produced television hit, Marcus Welby, M.D.. Musical theme The show's playfully-bouncy theme tune, which became as much of a show trademark as Beaver's baseball cap or Eddie Haskell's false obsequiousness, was "The Toy Parade," composed by David Kahn, Melvyn Leonard, and Mort Greene. For the final season, however, the song was given a jazz-like arrangement by veteran composer/arranger Pete Rugolo. The lyrics to the theme song are: Hey! Here they come with a rum-tee tum they're having a toy parade. A tin giraffe with a fife and drum is leading the kewpie parade. A gingham cat in a soldier's hat is waving a Chinese fan, A plastic clown in a wedding gown is dancing with Raggedy Ann. Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're crossing the living room floor Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're up to the dining room door. They call a halt for a choc'late malt or cookies and lemonade Then off they go with a ho ho ho right back to their toy brigade. DVD releases Universal Studios Home Entertainment has begun releasing Leave It to Beaver on DVD Region 1. Snyder pointed out that he hadn't worked for a long time and that there was rumor going around that he had been killed "in the war in Southeast Asia". Mathers politely replied that he had heard that rumor and that he had no idea how it got started. The earliest appearance of the story in print was in a student newspaper at the University of Kansas in 1972. Later the author admitted that she had only heard the story from someone who had heard it a party in Omaha, Nebraska earlier that year. The paper printed a retraction but by then the story had swept the nation and this silly rumor joined the rest of the legends of Americana. The story was later attributed to a member of a defunct Omaha comedy improv group whose hobby was concocting outrageous stories and then convincing people they were true. "Beaver died in Vietnam"[1] was a classic urban legend, memorable for its juxtaposition of prelapsarian 1950s imagery with the chaos and violence of the 1960s. Another urban legend was that actor Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskell) became porn star John Holmes. Holmes took Osmond's name and did several movies satirically under the name "Eddie Haskell". It started because there was some facial resemblance between the two men, which porn distributors exploited by using the name Eddie Haskell in advertising Holmes's films. "It was a pain in my butt for eleven years," says Osmond,[citation needed] who brought a defamation suit against porn houses, producers and distributors. Mr. Osmond launched a $25 million suit. The suit went all the way to the California Supreme Court. The court ruled for Mr. Holmes, saying the name was protected as a satire. This case set a precedent in the matter, and is still referred by other cases in California today.[4] In a Rolling Stone interview with rock singer, Alice Cooper stated that he was "Eddie Haskell" as a child. He was speaking metaphorically, yet some readers interpreted him literally.[citation needed] Horror SitCom Horror Sit Com Horror Sit-Com (Less)

Leave It to Beaver hit the airwaves in 1957. The show from which these video clips were taken was the Pilot and never aired.
Jerry Mathers played Theodore 'Beaver' Cleaver
Barbara Billingsley was June Cleaver, his Mom.
Hugh Beaumont would be Ward and Tony Dow, Wally Cleaver, after the pilot. For the first, unaired show, Casey Adams played Ward. And another actor played Tony. Ken Osmond as Eddie Haskell did not show in the pilot, let alone Larry Mondello. I think I saw Dennis the Menace's neighbor in there too... !
So I asked myself, "Wouldn't it be interesting to blend Alfred Hitchcoc's Horror / Thriller into that sit com?"'
"No?" you say. Uh Ohhh - you must thus sit this one out for that's what I did anyway
I combined Anthony Perkins as crazy Cleaver neighbor, Norman Bates - along with Janet Leigh as the other beaver, Marion Crane.
Enjoy !

Plot summary for Psycho (1960)
Phoenix officeworker Marion Crane is fed up with the way life has treated her. She has to meet her lover Sam in lunch breaks and they cannot get married because Sam has to give most of his money away in alimony. One Friday Marion is trusted to bank $40,000 by her employer. Seeing the opportunity to take the money and start a new life, Marion leaves town and heads towards Sam's California store. Tired after the long drive and caught in a storm, she gets off the main highway and pulls into The Bates Motel. The motel is managed by a quiet young man called Norman who seems to be dominated by his mother. Written by Col Needham {col@imdb.com}
For Marion Crane, it's been quite an eventful day. Written by filmfactsman
Plot summary for Leave It to Beaver (1957)
The Cleavers are the 1950's 'All-American Family' in this 'feel-good' family sitcom. Parents Ward and June, and older brother Wally, try to keep Theodore ('the Beaver') out of trouble. However, Beaver continues to end up in one kind of jam or another. Unlike real life, these situations are always easily resolved to the satisfaction of all involved and the Beaver gets off with a few stern moralistic words of parental advice. Instigator and troublemaker Eddie Haskal is an older kid who always manages to avoid being caught.

Leave It to Beaver
Leave It to Beaver is an American television situation comedy about an idealized American family of the 1950s.
Premise
The show is built around young Theodore Cleaver (Jerry Mathers) and the trouble he gets himself into while navigating his way through an often-incomprehensible, sometimes-illogical world.
Cast
=List of Leave It to Beaver cast members
Jerry Mathers as Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver. The casting directors noticed that Mathers was uneasy and asked him where he'd rather be. Mathers replied that he'd rather be at camp. That boyish youthfulness got Mathers the part of Beaver.[citation needed]
Tony Dow as Wally Cleaver
Hugh Beaumont as Ward Cleaver.
Diane Brewster as Miss Canfield
Sue Randall as Miss Landers
Stephen Talbot as Gilbert Bates. Talbot works as a reporter for PBS' Frontline.
Rusty Stevens as Larry Mondello
Richard Correll as Richard Rickover
Stanley Fafara as Whitey Whitney
Jeri Weil as Judy Hensler
Burt Mustin as Gus the fireman
Frank Bank as Clarence "Lumpy" Rutherford
Richard Deacon as Fred Rutherford, Lumpy's pompous, demanding father and Ward Cleaver's equally pompous, smug co-worker. Deacon was working a second job for much of the life of Leave It to Beaver; he was concurrently Alan Brady's (Carl Reiner's) brother-in-law/producer and Buddy Sorrell's Morey Amsterdam's foil on The Dick Van Dyke Show.
Buddy Hart as Chester Anderson
Tiger Fafara as Tooey Brown
Pamela Baird as Mary Ellen Rogers
Cheryl Holdridge as Julie Foster
Cultural influence
Leave It to Beaver often aimed toward a moral lesson and is referenced even now as an emblem of simpler American times.
The implicit comparison was obvious: "That's typical, and this is what I've got?" [2]
Episodes
The pilot episode, which aired on April 23, 1957, was entitled It's a Small World.[3] It featured Max Showalter as Ward Cleaver, and Paul Sullivan as Wally Cleaver. TBS re-aired the pilot on Sunday, October 4, 1987, to commemorate the show's 30th anniversary.
Syndication
After 234 episodes, Leave It to Beaver ceased first-run production; however, the show didn't stay off the air for very long: reruns were part of CBS affiliates' lineups in the mornings for several years to come. TBS showed it for many years in the late 1980s, and now it airs on TV Land—where it has been shown since July 1998. Today, NBC Universal Television owns the syndication rights and all properties related to the series.
Spinoffs
A made-for-television reunion movie, Still the Beaver, appeared in 1983.
Feature film
1997's movie adaptation of the series starred Christopher McDonald as Ward, Janine Turner as June, Erik von Detten as Wally, and Cameron Finley as Beaver. It was panned by many critics, except for Roger Ebert, who gave it a three-star rating. It flopped at the box office, earning only $11,713,605. Original TV co-stars Barbara Billingsley, Ken Osmond, and Frank Bank made cameo appearances in the film.
The Cleaver house
The Cleavers' address for the first two seasons was 485 Mapleton Drive, Mayfield.
Musical theme
The show's playfully-bouncy theme tune, which became as much of a show trademark as Beaver's baseball cap or Eddie Haskell's false obsequiousness, was "The Toy Parade," composed by David Kahn, Melvyn Leonard, and Mort Greene. For the final season, however, the song was given a jazz-like arrangement by veteran composer/arranger Pete Rugolo. The lyrics to the theme song are:
Hey! Here they come with a rum-tee tum they're having a toy parade.
A tin giraffe with a fife and drum is leading the kewpie parade.
A gingham cat in a soldier's hat is waving a Chinese fan,
A plastic clown in a wedding gown is dancing with Raggedy Ann.
Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're crossing the living room floor
Fee fie fiddle dee dee they're up to the dining room door.
They call a halt for a choc'late malt or cookies and lemonade
Then off they go with a ho ho ho right back to their toy brigade.

Urban legends
In the mid 1970s, Mathers appeared on The Tomorrow Show hosted by Tom Snyder.
This case set a precedent in the matter, and is still referred by other cases in California today.[4]
In a Rolling Stone interview with rock singer, Alice Cooper stated that he was "Eddie Haskell" as a child. He was speaking metaphorically, yet some readers interpreted him literally.[citation needed]
