I was a member and a teacher in a church for several years. I couldn't embrace all the tenets of Christianity. I met privately with my pastor at the time with many questions. I couldn't reconcile myself with his answers. As a result of this and other issues, I eventually left the church. (I am afraid that the hijacking of authentic spirituality by these violent "chosen people" belief systems is eventually going to lead to an atheistic society that will use this violence and hatred in God's name as an excuse to minimize or eradicate real spirituality.) This was one my major dilemmas: Anyone who is not a Christian is going to be punished eternally in Hell. 1. The Old Testament (Jewish Torah from the Levite priests) and New Testament contain conflicting messages. I couldn't understand why they were considered equally Divine. The Ten Commandments of Moses and the laws of the Levite priests and Pharisees seemed to clash. It seemed that a "Third Hand" had combined the Torah and The New Testament, altering the meaning of the Ten Commandments for less than Divine reasons. 2. Jesus was purported to have said that he was the Messiah, the only way to salvation, etc... This didn't make sense to me. It sounds more like the Messianic and "chosen people" theme from the Levitical and Pharisee teachings where God favors one group of people, and anyone outside that sphere of the "law" is going to suffer eternal torture and damnation. It seemed that again, a "Third Hand" was involved in the formation of the New Testament. Morality and compassion had been replaced with adherence to "the law." 3. I am still learning about the history of Islam, and I am reading the Koran. I see this "Third Hand" again in the idea of the Muslims being Allah's chosen people, and any non-believer being labeled a "kuffar." I don't think it is a coincidence that Zionists, fundamentalist Christians and Islamic fundamentalists seize upon this idea of the "other" in the form of hatred and terrorism toward goyim, unsaved heathens and kuffar to further violent and political agendas.
