Vocals, snare (More) 32bit Remaster & Mix, March 2008 I used the "Jimi Pass It On" source for this 32bit remaster. The two stereo channels are remixed, balanced and high quality cleaned now. Vocals, snare drum and the bass in the mid/end part are more in the background. I dragged all guitars into the light and you can hear even the ride cymbal. Altogether more details and very close to how it was intended 1970 but it still is rough. I assume if this really was leaked, they've blemished it deliberately. If you don't like it, make yer own remaster! Enjoy... For some time, it has been speculated that Jimi Hendrix played on one more song with Stephen Stills when Stills was recording his self-titled debut album back in 1970. The song "White Nigger" has never been officially released. Subsequent sightings of the song was always the 1973 version with Manassas, not Hendrix. Recently, the JPIO collective [Jimi Pass It On] released a nice collection of what may be fan remixes of Hendrix called Silver Blue To Bloody Red Vol. 2 which contained a version of "White Nigger". One fan David offered his thoughts on the Hendrix connection: "I thought I'd just add a couple of words about the Silver Blue 2 collection...This set has one track which many of us have been looking out for years, and which I never expected to hear - the Stephen Stills song "White Nigger" with Jimi on guitar. I didn't have high hopes for this one - after all, 90 percent of boots claiming to be the Stills/Hendrix sessions are fakes in my experience, and the version of this track which has been circulating for a few years is definitely a 1973 re-recording by Stills with Manassas and has nothing at all to do with Hendrix. "However, the version on Silver Blue 2 sounds like it's the real McCoy! It's a bit of a mess, actually, because it sounds like someone has just transferred all the tracks from the multitrack recording without any attempt at mixing, so it has a couple of Stills lead vocals and a lot of guitar tracks, some of which are Stills himself but many of which are Jimi's. It sounds like Jimi was attempting multiple harmonised guitar overdubs like on a lot of the material he was recording in spring 1970. Basically, it's unmixed and messy, but it's fascinating and - I never expected to say this - I'm 95 percent certain it's the real thing." David concludes that the track may have been found while Stills was looking inside his vaults for rarities to include in his upcoming boxset. No guarantee that this is indeed the famed collaboration...Judge for yourself. (Less) Channel: youtube

Description: Tahira Jumah is my new protege, my Evelyn Thomas for the new millenium. When she came to the studio with Fay Jones, they were both friends of Angelo Starr, and he brought them along to meet me. I (More) Tahira Jumah is my new protege, my Evelyn Thomas for the new millenium. When she came to the studio with Fay Jones, they were both friends of Angelo Starr, and he brought them along to meet me. I decided to pair them up to make this song which I wrote with Angelo, "It's An Ill Wind". They had never met each other before that day. But as I got to know Tahira, I realised she had all the attributes of a real Ian Levine long term star, which is why she is singing my very first song ever, "Reaching For The Best", for the upcoming album, "Yesterday And Tomorrow". "It's An Ill Wind" has now firmly become another of my favourite tracks off "Disco 2008", and, along with the Odette Adams track, these two ended up being the real sleepers of the whole bunch. With the release of this last album, in December 2007, "Disco 2008", I have spent thirty two years honing my craft to the point when I am able to produce a record like this. I have gone back to my Disco and High Energy roots and done what I love best, and what I know how to do best, and with the best artists imaginable. This to me is the real McCoy, and I am so proud and excited with it. On December 3rd 2007, exactly three months after my last album release, we finally released my utterly fabulous exciting new album called "Disco 2008", which was released on Centre City Records, distributed by Goldsoul Music and Vital Distribution. This album consists of twenty four brand new 2007 songs by soul and disco legends, including Sheila Ferguson, Hazell Dean, Steve Brookstein, Tina Charles, The Flirtations, Voices With Soul, Ebony Alleyne, Noel McKoy, and lots of others. Each song has an accompanying video of the artist basically performing it the studio and in various locations. Because a lot of my fans on MySpace and YouTube have been begging me to do this, I decided to get up and make it happen, so there is a giveaway DVD with the CD showing the same twenty four songs, all being performed in the same running order as the CD, followed by three more bonus tracks which simply wouldn't fit on the main CD itself. The work that we have all put into this project is quite staggering, and I hope it will break down the barriers between the Disco stalwarts and a new generation who haven't yet been exposed to decent dance music if all they've heard is the bilge poured out over the last twenty years. Play the CD, watch the DVD, and give new Disco a chance this time. This isn't Disco's return, it's quite simply Disco's REVENGE !!!!!!!! And Tahira and Fay will have you dancing in the aisles. Ralph's two singles were "Extra Extra (Read All About it)" and "When You're Young And In Love." He also sang on a couple of his TV show's episodes. His use of modal playing, pentatonic scales and heavy use of fourth chordal voicings give him his distinct playing style which is unmistakably "the real McCoy" when he plays. Many people try to emulate his style of playing because it is so energetic and to be honest, it's fun to play! I find it useful to explore the playing styles of the great players and learn from them and hope that some of "that sound" gets thrown onto the palette of my musical knowledge to allow me to integrate it into my own sound. Sometimes though, as in this video, I just love to channel that McCoy vibe all the way through and see where it takes me.
The great freedom that comes with playing in this style for me is simply that there are "landing" points throughout the form of the tune. These landing points allow the freedom to wander harmonically building tension until resolving into the zone. In this particular exercise, the main landing point comes every 8 measures landing on the D Minor. A secondary landing zone is the start of the chromatic II-V's (Db-7 to Gb7). McCoy likes to make the II chord a sus chord by putting the V in the bass.
Many different variations of the basic pentatonic scale are used for soloing. One is to add the 6th of the scale. In D this would be DFGABD. Playing these along the changes and then going outside the changes with them is one of the vehicles McCoy uses to get "that sound". This is the post apocalyptic world of Wolf's Rain, and it's commentary regarding our very own corruptions. It's the NWO and the destiny of humanity; the Awakening and the struggle to take a stand for what's right. No wonder this show was only aired for a limited time... This is the other prominent message in Wolf's Rain. After close examination and researching, I've seen many symbols that are used to indicate that their world is similar to the world where we are headed and are already in so to speak. One could also notice the blood ritual of when Jagara drinks the wolf blood, seeking to further her power as well as insult the creatures. Such is a similar tale to the legend of Dracula, or Vlad the Impaler who often drank his victims' blood to gain power, as he believed he would. Then there are the security cameras and the zombie-like civilians. That is more related to today, especially in America. It's disgusting how surveillence is becomming so domineering... =_= Then the creation of a False Paradise. Such can be also related. But I'll leave that up to you viewer's for your own discrimination. My opinion on that may not make sense or upset someone without a full detailed explanation with even more explanation unto itself. So many messages in this Anime. It's incredible. I've never been so touched by a tv show, even anime....I can't even explain the true importance this show has for me but it stands for everything that I do and that I am. (Less) Channel: youtube
