A police source said someone was believed to have cooked over an open fire there. The police invited the parents of the wanted man to Fu Shan Mortuary in Sha Tin yesterday to help identify the body, but identification could not be made due to the body's highly decomposed state. A Chinese man, in his fifties, and two women were seen searching the cliff on Sunday morning. The man reportedly told the person who called the police he was looking for his son. The police discovered ropes, a backpack and a bag containing the wanted man's identity card on Sunday. Marine police on Sunday found the body with bruises and injuries, believed to have been inflicted by a boat propeller. The bail-jumper was also wanted in connection with a brutal attack on his ex-girlfriend, also 22, who was slashed nine times in the throat. The assault took place at On Tin Estate in Lam Tin in the early hours of November 7. The assailant was believed to have climbed into the victim's 24th-floor flat through a window and escaped by abseiling from the window, earning himself the nickname "Spiderman."
