His greatest achievement was the world's first functional program-controlled Turing-complete computer, the Z3, in 1941 (the program was stored on a punched tape). He received the Werner-von-Siemens-Ring in 1964 for the Z3.[1]
Zuse also designed the first high-level programming language, Plankalkül, first published in 1948, although this was a theoretical contribution, since the language was not implemented in his lifetime and did not directly influence early languages. One of the inventors of ALGOL (Rutishauser) wrote: "The very first attempt to devise an algorithmic language was undertaken in 1948 by K. Zuse. His notation was quite general, but the proposal never attained the consideration it deserved."
In addition to his technical work, Zuse founded the first computer startup company in 1946. This company built the Z4, which became the second commercial computer, leased to ETH Zürich in 1950. Due to World War II, however, Zuse's work went largely unnoticed in the UK and the USA; possibly his first documented influence on a US company was IBM's option on his patents in 1946. In the late 1960s, Zuse suggested the concept of a Calculating Space (a computation-based universe).
There is a replica of the Z3, as well as the Z4, in the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
The Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin in Berlin has an exhibition devoted to Zuse. In it are twelve of his machines, including a replica of the Z1, some original documents, including the specifications of Plankalkül, and several of Zuse's paintings.

The first one happened at about 5:30 p.m. at 5440 Merriam Drive in Merriam. Officials said a teenage carhop was delivering food to customers in a black Sedan when an armed man forced her into the vehicle and took off.
After stealing the small amount of money the woman had on her, the abductors dumped her out of the car a few blocks away, investigators said.
The girl was not seriously hurt.
Shortly after that, a female carhop at a Sonic restaurant at 535 Southwest Blvd. in Kansas City, Kan., reported that four men in black Sedan attempted to abduct her when she delivered food to them, police said.
"She held on for her life to the door and started screaming. She punched him and got away somehow," said Christina Alonzo, a friend of the female carhop.
The victim, who is seven months pregnant, was able to escape uninjured.
Police said they believe the two incidents are related.

Two witnesses told police Jarrett punched and kicked her in the stomach.
His 19-year-old girlfriend was six months pregnant.
She miscarried a couple of days later, and Jarrett turned himself in to police last weekend.
On Wednesday, Jarrett was charged with a felony, which carries a possible 20-year sentence.

They're visible from his foot all the way up to his inner thigh, where the pit made a 13-centimeter deep bite. He's able to hop around now, but his family says this is one Christmas Day that Darious will never forget. As Velma Guice tends to her son's wounds, she thinks back to Christmas Day. The sounds of Darious screaming out for her still linger in her mind. Just 15 feet away from her child, she was in shock and could not get to him. "We always said what we would do if something happened. I always said I'd gouge their eyes out. Baby, I was stuck. I just froze."
'Sweet Pea,' a one-year-old pregnant pooch pounced on little Darious after getting loose while her owners gave her water. Darious's older sister barely escaped the dog's wrath herself. "At first, he came at me. I didn't know what he wanted to do, so I jumped on top of a car," says Mourgann Guice. Mourgann watched as 'Sweet Pea's' owners punched the pit continuously. She was beaten with a bat until it broke, but the dog simply would not let go of the six-year-old. "It scared me to see him getting thrown like a doll. I thought he was going to die. And after he killed Darious, I thought he was going to come for me." After 10 minutes, which felt like an eternity to Guice, 'Sweet Pea' was finally knocked unconscious. "I was scared to death. And it's through the grace of God that my baby's still alive," says Velma Guice. Under the recently revised animal ordinance, 'Sweet Pea' is now considered a "dangerous dog." Animal control agents say the incident is still under investigation. The pit's owners have not been fined and the dog is currently being held in quarantine.

Down stairs my parents were still yelling at each other for what I did. My mom was yelling how it was my dads fault because he wasnt very protective but, I beg to differ. He punched one of my boyfriends before and if that doesnt say protective I have no clue what does. And my dad was saying how it was all my moms fault for not having the talk with me. But she did, my dad wasnt home and maybe thats why we even had that talk. Im actually glad that my dad wasnt there when I and my mom had that talk. It had made it the littlest less uncomfortable than it already was. Dont get me wrong my dad is a health teacher and he probably knows more about that kind of stuff then my mom but he still thought she should do it. He said it was something only mothers and daughters could really talk about.
I lay down on my bed thinking about what will happen when everyone else finds out. Or I could just say that Ive been eating way too much food and got really fat then got a tummy tuck. But I doubt that would work. I doubt that anyone would even believe me because I sure dont. Maybe I should call the guy and tell him hell be a farther but I dont have his number. I started to feel dizzy and faint. I couldnt leave this town, I absolutely loved this town. I loved living in the middle of nowhere of Florida. My aunt lived in L.A that is a huge city! I cant believe there shipping off to L.A. Most people would be really happy if they were moving to L.A but not me. I mean its not like I wasnt the only person in my grade that got pregnant or are pregnant. Ugh, I hate this. I want to stay here but all my stuff was already packed before I could even begin to protest.
