They said it couldn't play,
Broken piano; urges searing,
Brittle, broken notes,
Just one touch and you feel,
The sadness that pours from inside,
A piano that 'bleeds' to heal,
Dreaming of notes; formed purely of opal,
Rusted black keys are now white,
But this piano refuses to stop dreaming,
It will continue to fight,
Screaming out in agony,
The piano breaks even more,
Some said they've even seen tears-
Form on the keys and drip down to the floor,
Then one day an orphan boy,
Feels that he is needed,
No older than seven,
He stands before the piano still undefeated,
The abandoned piano stood layered in snow,
Its' satin black was now tarnished and did fade,
The little boy smiled and brushed off the keys,
He sat and then he played,
With knotted strings and rusted keys,
The piano was struggling to play,
But the boy didn't give up,
His fingers paved the way,
Others gather around,
Adoring what they hear,
Shocked to learn that this piano,
Was the one kept out in the rear,
The melody, the sound; the notes,
All were opal-infused,
The sound was sparkling like that crystal,
The piano was finally being used,
As the boy just finished,
The piano had collapsed,
Teary keys; full of gratitude,
The piano felt loved at last,
In his final melody,
The piano spoke:
"I may not have been perfect,
I may not have been the best,
But on my final melody,
I can happily rest.."
Another song by me. I find this one to be the best out of all of the pieces I've composed. Played in B flat minor, now a favorite of mine.
I was inspired to write this piece by Riha's (xXRihaChanXx) poem entitled "The Broken Piano".
This piece is also based on an image I saw. The day I composed this was on a gloomy, rainy day...sort of fits the mood, doesn't it?
The image I saw was a soldier. He was the last one standing. Around him were his fellow soldiers, all gone. Meters away is his enemy staring back at him. He tries to fight back. There's one part in the piece where the left hand plays a note continuously...well that's his life clock. The happier parts (where I switch from B flat minor to D flat major) is when the soldier is remembering all the moments with his friends and family. Notice near the end, it gets a lot louder. That would be the pain he's feeling. Then the last notes just drift away into nothingness. Also remember that there are very few parts where it's played in D flat major. The sad parts overshadow the happier parts.
Dedicated to Riha for her inspiring poem that in my opinion, is the best poem I have ever read in my entire life. I'm serious; I've never read anything like it. (Less) Channel: youtube

In the beginning, Gabriel is told by his doctor that he has schizophrenia. Gabriel asks him for help, but the doctor says until he can diagnose it further he can't. Gabriel flips out and leaves. Outside, his girlfriend, Claire, is waiting. Gabriel can't bring himself to tell Claire what the doctor said. Besides Claire has more news. She tells Gabriel she made the cheerleading squad. The next day as Claire is at practice, Gabriel is helping a customer, but his vicious side is released and he kills the man. Claire comes home to find not Gabriel, but another man. He introduces himself as Sylar and tells Claire about Gabriel's condition. At first, Claire doesn't like Sylar, but when they bump into each other on the streets they talk and she feels a similar connection to him. However, one cheerleader on the squad doesn't like Claire. Sylar knows this and kills the girl and Claire sees how violent Sylar truly is. After Claire runs away, Sylar turns into Gabriel. The next day, Sylar tries calling Claire, but when she sees who it is, she doesn't answer. Sylar becomes Gabriel again and he goes to Claire's house. She yells at him for not telling her the truth and Gabriel tries to apologize. Afterwards, Claire tells Gabriel to leave and never come back. Instead, she witnesses Gabriel as he becomes Sylar. Sylar tells Claire that he loves her too and he won't ever leave her, but Claire won't here any of it. When she gets a chance, Claire jumps out the window to escape Sylar. These are the results of atrocities of life when you have no respect for the living. We are conditioning these young kids to be monsters when they reach adults. They will hunt humans one day.
Puppy set afire
Oakland boys accused of animal cruelty
In a crime that has outraged neighbors, police and dog owners, two Oakland boys were in custody yesterday for allegedly setting a 3-month-old pit- bull terrier on fire after forcing it to fight another dog.
The youths, ages 12 and 15, told police they threw flammable material on the stray dog Tuesday afternoon after it beat another pit bull puppy in a fight they staged outside an East Oakland apartment building, said police Sgt. Arturo Bautista.
One of the boys cares for the female puppy that lost the fight, and the attack may have been the boys' revenge, authorities said. A third boy, age 14, is also being sought in the case.
"This is a terrible event," said Glenn Howell, Oakland animal control director. "You have a juvenile, of all things, setting a puppy on fire. It's very cruel. People need to be aware that pit bulls as a breed are just totally misused."
The injured puppy suffered burns on one-fourth of its body, including on its face, back and legs, and was recuperating yesterday at the Veterinary Centers of America Bay Area Animal Hospital in North Oakland.
Veterinarians at the hospital have named the hapless, 19-pound puppy Theodore and have been giving it painkillers and antibiotics intravenously, feeding it high-calorie food and applying soothing aloe vera on its skin.
Groggy from morphine yesterday morning, the brown-and-white dog blinked slightly in its cage while wrapped in a Minnie Mouse towel. A yellow sign read,
"Feed only after giving morphine. He will vomit after morphine is given."
The case comes after last year's high-profile crimes in which vicious dogs were the aggressor: the fatal mauling of Diane Whipple, 33, a popular St. Mary's College lacrosse coach, at the door of her San Francisco apartment, and the pit bull mauling of 10-year-old Shawn Jones in Richmond.
"It's an unusual case," Bautista said of the three boys allegedly involved in setting the dog on fire. "It raises concern in everyone, not only police but anyone hearing about it, as to why this was going on."
The injured puppy is about six pounds underweight, slightly emaciated and already suffered from mange before its ordeal, said veterinarian Carl Singer.
"He's really pretty strong," Singer said. "He may not need surgery."
The puppy will probably stay at the animal hospital for three to seven days before it is transferred to the Oakland Animal Shelter on 29th Avenue in East Oakland. There, animal control officials will decide whether the puppy can be adopted.
After the puppy won the fight about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, the boys sprayed him with some material from a canister, threw flammable material on the puppy and ignited it with a match, Bautista said.
The boys then chased the dog into a vent underneath an apartment building at 1436 71st Ave. in East Oakland, where part of the building also caught fire,
Bautista said.
Firefighters quickly doused the blaze. It was unclear whether the flaming dog set the building on fire or if the boys started the building fire.
Animal control officers took the other dog, which had some previous scars but was uninjured in the fight, to the Oakland Animal Shelter.
Two of the boys were taken into custody on suspicion of felony cruelty to animals and attempted arson. They were being held at Alameda County Juvenile Hall in San Leandro. Because of their ages, their names were withheld.
"That's messed up -- they should be punished," said Andreina Madriz, 13, who lives on the block where the incident took place. She said dog fights are common in the neighborhood.
Relatives of the 15-year-old boy said he had a soft spot for animals and couldn't fathom him doing what authorities allege.
"I know he's innocent," said the boy's grandmother, Anna L. Moore, 80, of Oakland. "He's never hurt any animal."
The boy's 21-year-old sister added: "I just don't believe it. I don't understand any of it."
Amber Niewold, 28, of Oakland, a co-founder of Bay Area Dog Lovers Responsible About Pit Bulls, or BAD RAP, said the abuse highlights how the breed has been unfairly stigmatized.
"I hope the media and the public are able to use this event to begin placing blame where it belongs, which is people, and to stop bashing breeds of dogs and making judgments about breeds when it is clearly people who are behind horrible things," Niewold said. (Less) Channel: youtube
