This video features the production of artist Nick San Pedro's oil painting of Madonna & the world.
Nick San Pedro was born in Las Vegas, NV on November 15, 1978 to a Cuban-Chinese father, and a Spanish-French mother.
As a young child, San Pedro immersed himself in art, spending most of his time drawing. People quickly grew fond of the young artist's creations. San Pedro was surrounded by all types of music and live stage shows, being raised in Las Vegas. The artist's father was friends with Siegfried and Roy, which led to Nick having many opportunities to share his works with them throughout his adolescence. Roy was especially encouraging, and his acknowledgment of San Pedro's talent was all the artist needed to believe that his artwork was truly magical.
San Pedro's love for music and performance led to the creation of many works of art that would eventually gain attention from musicians coming to perform in the entertainment capitol of the world.
In 2002, while attending college, San Pedro was commissioned to produce artwork for 'NBC's Last Call with Carson Daly'. The following year, The artist was hired to paint eight musicians, including Madonna, for the 45th Annual Grammy Awards Pre-Party.
After debuting his artwork in New York City in the prestigious Rainbow Room, San Pedro went on to share many of his paintings with numerous people in the entertainment industry, including: Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Elton John, Celine Dion, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Steven Spielberg, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Carey Hart, Siegfried & Roy, Jerry Seinfeld, Ani DiFranco, Ben Folds, The Osbournes, Carson Daly, Ludacris, Kathy Griffin, Carmen Electra and Pamela Anderson.
San Pedro is realizing the impact his work is having on the world around him. The artist continually looks for ways to enlighten peoples lives with his creativity. He is proud to lend his time and work to many non-profit organizations that benefit art programs, children's charities and AIDS programs.
Nick San Pedro is currently producing oil paintings on canvas and looking forward to sharing his body of work abroad. The artist is truly grateful for every experience he's had to share his artwork, and for all the people who share this journey with him.

Madonna Wine Goss (or "Mrs. G." as she was lovingly known by her students), passed away on Monday, December 18, 2006 at the age of 83. Born on April 1, 1923, Madonna was a graduate of Roosevelt H.S. and Manchester College. She also completed numerous graduate studies including Westminster Choir College; Juillard School of Music; and the Cincinnati conservatory. In 1946 she began her teaching career in Alexandria, OH teaching vocal and instrumental music in all 12 grades. She returned to the Dayton area in 1948 where she taught choral music and organ at Roosevelt High School. Madonna taught in Oakwood and 21 years in the Kettering School System before retiring in 1983. Many of her students were selected to sing with the Ohio Honors Choir who toured Europe several times as she accompanied and was an assistant director. On a subsequent tour she took her own students and parent chaperones to Austria to sing with choirs from other countries in concert. She will be remembered as a devoted teacher and second "mom" to many students as well as for the outstanding productions of Broadway Musicals she directed at Kettering Fairmont East High School. Her 50 year organ career began while she was still in high school. Madonna was an organist at College Street Church of the Brethren, Ohmer Park Methodist, Memorial Baptist, South Park Methodist and Dayton First Baptist Church, where she was a member. During those years, she also directed choirs at First Baptist and Fairmont Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the American Guild of Organists and past Dean of the Dayton Chapter AGO, Secretary and Historian for 12 years of Ohio Choral Directors Association, President of Delta Omicron Music Fraternity, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, member of The Dayton Music Club, member and board member of the Dayton Women"s Club and Choral Director of the first three "Muse Machine" musical productions. In 1984 she received the honor of being inducted into the "Chester A. Roush" Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by her husband, Ted, and her parents, Dr. Norman B. and Grace E. Wine. Survived by son, Craig Goss, daughter Sherri Kertesz and grandsons, Larry and Stephen Kertesz; relatives, loving friends, and literally thousdands of students whose lives were forever changed and enriched for having had her as their teacher. A British court is ordering Paul McCartney to pay nearly 50 million dollars to his ex Heather Mills. The decision was made yesterday after one of the most bitter celebrity divorces came to an end. Mills told reporters outside the courtroom she was pleased with the result. The couple married in 2002 before splitting in 2006...they have a four year old daughter Beatrice together.
Madonna's rep is rejecting rumors that she and her husband Guy Richie are splitting. Her spokesperson says the two are "happily married' despite reports that they're relationship is on the rocks. They're apparently in London with their three kids...11 year old Lourdes, 7 year old Rocco and 2 year old David...who they are in the process of officially adopting.
Will Smith says he's not a scientologist. In an interview with Radar magazine, the actor rejected rumors that he follows the religion. Smith has been linked to Scientology because of his friendship with the religion's follower Tom Cruise. But Smith says in the magazine, you don't have to practice the teaching t be a friend of Cruise. The actor says he's a Christian and "student of all religions."
A new Iraq war drama is making it's way to theaters. "Stop-Loss," starring Ryan Phillippe premiered in Los Angeles last night. Other cast members like Steven Strait and Channing Tatum attended the event as well. The film is about the lives of soldiers who have served in Iraq. It's set for a U.S. release March, 28.
Stars hit the town in New York last night to help aspiring young actors. Actresses Stockard Channing and Kathleen Turner were jut a few of the celebrities that showed up at the Stella by Starlight benefit. The event raised money for inner city kids trying to become actors. Actor Martin Sheen was honored with the Marlon Brando Award for his work in film and the community. And Gossip columnist Liz Smith was given the Harold Clurman Lifetime Achievement Award. The late Roy Sheider was also honored for his work onstage with the Group Theater Award. His wife Brenda accepted it on his behalf.

Handlung:
Die Musikerin Sydney Wells ist seit ihrem fünften Lebensjahr blind. Nach einer Keratoplastik, bei der ihr die Hornhaut einer Toten eingesetzt wird, kann sie wieder sehen. Anschließend wird sie durch Visionen geplagt, in denen sie unter anderem Tote sieht oder sich an anderen Orten befindet. Ihre Angehörigen denken, sie sei geistig labil. Wells sucht den Spender der Hornhaut, die bei ihr eingesetzt wurde und findet heraus, dass die Augen früher Ana Christina Martinez gehörten. Wells spricht in Mexiko mit der Mutter von Martinez und findet heraus, dass Martinez nach einem Großbrand Selbstmord beging -- aufgrund der Vorwürfe an sich selbst, sie habe nicht die vielen Opfer eines Großbrands gerettet.
Auf dem Rückweg in die USA kommt es an der Grenze zu einem Stau. Hier begegnet sie einem Mädchen, welches in ihren Visionen verbrennt sowie einen Tanklaster mit der Ziffer 106 -- ihre nächtlichen Visionen begannen immer um 1:06 Uhr -- und realisiert, dass sich das Unglück ihrer Visionen erst ereignen wird. Nachdem sie alle Menschen retten kann, verliert sie jedoch durch bei der Explosion entstehende Glassplitter erneut ihr Augenlicht.
Kritiken:
James Berardinelli schrieb auf ReelViews, der Film sei „noch eine von einem asiatischen Original adaptierte Geistergeschichte", was bereits wahrscheinlich alles notwendige sage. Die Hauptdarstellerin sei sehr attraktiv, aber sie wirke hölzern. Das Filmende sei dumm und es verspotte die vorangegangene Handlung („It's stupid and insulting and makes a mockery of everything that comes before it").
Gernot Gricksch schrieb in TV Digital 11 vom 16. Mai 2008, dass der Film professionell, aber leidenschaftslos runtergekurbelt sei. dieses ordentliche Schauerstück sei relativ unblutig und vorhersehbar. Alba allerdings sei immerhein eine Augenweide.
Hintergründe:
Die Produktion des Films plante zunächst Paramount Pictures mit Renée Zellweger in der Hauptrolle. Das Projekt wurde an Lionsgate übergeben; Zellweger wurde durch Alba ersetzt, die als Teil der Vorbereitungen sechs Monate lang das Spielen auf einer Violine lernte.
Der Film wurde in Albuquerque, in der Innenstadt von Los Angeles und in Vancouver gedreht.
Er startete in den Kinos der USA am 1. Februar 2008 und spielte dort bis zum 17. Februar 2008 ca. 26,87 Millionen US-Dollar ein.

The Eye is a 2008 film starring Jessica Alba. It is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong-Thai-Singaporean film of the same name. The film was rated PG-13 by the MPAA for "violence/terror and disturbing content."
Plot
Sydney Wells, at the start of the film, is a successful classical violinist, although blind since the age of 5. She and her sister had been playing with fireworks and they had been set off too close to her face, damaging her corneas.
Now, nearly 20 years later, Sydney undergoes a cornea transplant which causes her vision, albeit blurry, to begin returning. At first, she is confused and disoriented, unable to understand if what she sees is "real" or not. During her first night with her new eyes, her bedmate at the hospital dies, and Sydney, not understanding, watches her blurry figure being led away by someone else. During her stay, she also befriends a young girl named Alicia, who is there undergoing surgery for a brain tumor.

Themes
Using the pretext of a psychological thriller and paranormal experiences, the film explores mental illness, and in particular, of the monothematic delusion known as Mirrored self-misidentification, referred to in the story as cellular memory.
Other themes include the concept of precognition, or premonition, perhaps becoming a popular cultural crossover from Asian beliefs about the unknown- since this film was a remake of a Hong Kong horror flick, and still retains Asian themes in the 2008 version.
Filming
Exteriors were shot primarily in the Downtown Los Angeles area. The establishing hospital shots - wherein Sydney is supposed to have had her sight-restoring surgery - are of LAC/USC Medical Center in the Boyle Heights district; 3/4 shots looking north- and southeast of the main 18-floor-high central building (the same bldg. used for the television soap-opera General Hospital). Fictionally, the burned-out Chinese restaurant is supposed to be located just three-blocks from where Sydney lives; the exterior scene, in which Sydney is about to get into a taxicab and travel to Mexico, was filmed on 7th Street, just east of Figueroa, in the downtown area.
