This video is unique for several reasons. It may be the only video of bison mating. Very few videos exist of bison fighting or of pronghorn antelope fighting. No videos exist of bison watching pronghorn fight (later the buffalo broke up the fight --to be shown in more detail in another video).
The bison is the largest land animal in North America. They can reach up to 2 meters (6.6 ft) tall, 3 meters (10 ft) long and can weigh 900 to 2,100 pounds (400 to 1000 kg). The largest individuals on record have weighed as much as 2,500 pounds (1,130 kg). The heads and forequarters are massive, and both sexes have short, curved horns, which they can use in fighting for status within the herd and for defense.
The American bison (Bison bison) is a bovine (related to cattle) mammal, also called the American buffalo. Two subspecies exist, the plains bison (Bison bison bison), which is distinguished by its smaller size and more rounded hump, and the wood bison (Bison bison athabascae), which is distinguished by its larger size and taller square hump. The wood bison is one of the world's largest species of cattle, surpassed in size only by the massive Asian gaur and wild Asian water buffalo.
They are a keystone species-a force that shaped the ecology of the Great Plains. America's first thoroughfares were bison and deer traces, including the Cumberland Gap.
Today's bison came from a few individuals that survived the slaughter of the buffalo. Once huge herds roamed the country.
The animals are dangerous, and considered among the most dangerous of park animals. They will attack people if provoked. They can easly outrun humans and can run as fast as 35 mph. In Yellowstone, over 4 times as many people were killed or injured by bison, than by bears.
As shown in the video, bison escape easily. Although they are large and don't look like they can, they have the ability to leap over a standard barbed-wire fence. I didn't have the camera turned on in time to catch the escapee jumping the fence. (Less)

The problem of what to do with sex offenders has exercised societies since the beginning of time. Beginning in 1996, six US states introduced legislation to allow for the castration of sex offenders: either chemically or physically. Is it treatment, punishment or both? Many doctors, rape survivors and prosecutors are sceptical of the operation - critics argue that rapists are motivated by power rather than sex, and castration may well lead to more violent assaults. This film explores the issues involved in society's search for a 'magic bullet' to deal with the problem, including interviews with offenders who have undergone the procedure.
Mention physical or chemical castration and you can be sure any man will wince. This film, which goes straight to a man's 'crown jewels,' is sure to make anyone, male or female, baulk at the idea of men willingly undergoing a medical procedure, intended to suppress 'deviant sexual behaviour', and allow the convict to go free, instantly reformed. The results might surprise, but one thing is indisputable -- the controversy and sensitivities of doctors performing operations on seemingly healthy individuals, to get them to fit in better with what society demands of them, or to cure a serious illness, depending on the side of the fence on which you stand. But in this show, Janet Kuypers, because shw was exemplifying living in a big world (the title of the show), she drew a large chair, painted it onto a white canvas (which actually was a bunch of pieces of 8.5" x 11" paper stuck together) and attached it to a wooden base, so she could literally sit in a drawing of a large chair (it was 60" wide, actually). The visual display of the artwork projected onto a large paper screen for this show (which once again was actually a bunch of pieces of 8.5" x 11" paper stuck together)was a drawn TV, and inside the TV a bunch of Janet Kuypers photographs from around the world was shown in this "drawn" TV. I sell my performance art audio on iTunes & Naster, I try to share myself with the world, but I wonder if I'm actually getting through to anyone. I heard a Native American man, whose parents were from two different tribes (meaning that he could never truly have an allegiance with just one tribe), say that after he traveled extensively, he tried to tell his story to the people of either tribe, and no one wanted to even listen to him. They called him Ex-eh-ba-che, which means "man who talks loud... say nothing." Ex-eh-ba-che. "Man who talks loud... say nothing." Oh, what am I saying, I've been around the world, but I've never talked to a Native American. That was actually from a movie I saw, I don't even know if "Ex-eh-ba-che" is a real word or means anything. But... If I want to see something about the world around me, maybe I should turn on the tee vee, I mean, if news channels can have reporters in war zones, there's got to be something worth watching. Maybe I'll just get out the remote and turn on the tee vee, then press the play button and see what's out there in the world. — the poem: Fighting I Can Do I know these are normal things for me to be going through I know that I have been raped and beaten I know they've tried to kill me and lucky me, I survived I think I can survive everything they throw at me But as time wears on little pieces of this statue are chipped away everybody wants something, right? well, they've been taking from me and taking and taking and taking and my defenses are getting weaker and I don't know how much more fighting I can do — the poem: I Want you know what I want? i want a big house with filtered central air and i want a big lawn so i can recreate nature and i want a big fence so i'll know what's mine and i want the evergreens trimmed into neat little balls, because it has to look neat. plant everything in a row. and i want to spray chemicals on my lawn to keep the dandelions away and i want a plastic lobster bib over my fancy dress at the fancy restaurant and don't forget the hundred dollar champagne and i want a big fat car, and i want someone else to drive it and i want the two kids, one boy, one girl and i want a nanny to take care of them for me i want to be famous i want everyone to love me i want it i want it all — the prose: Adjusting Your Beliefs We lived in Pennsylvania for 6 months, and while I continued my work with cc&d magazine, I got a P.O. box in the town Intercourse Pennsylvania. And actually, it was an amish town, and we would go to the store there to stock up on spices, and the amish people who worked there were all short - Now, I know I'm tall, but when I say they were short I should also say that their heads looked child-like... that the people working there looked like they had a mild form, or early stages of, downs syndrome. We could only guess by looking at the faces of these people that the Amish had too severe a history of inbreeding, and no one new came into their community. And recently I was in Champaign to plant a tree, and we stopped at a mall and there was this hydro massage store in the mall - it was this temporary place that had booths set up for individuals to lay down in, and many jets of water pulsated into plastic sheets over the person's body, it was a massage thing that people could pay for. Now, I had seen things like this before, but I was told I should try this, you know, just splurge, so I was in this thing that looked like a tanning bed for your body with your head sticking out at the end, and John talked to a few girls there, because he noticed how they looked liked they were dressed in near Amish, or Mennonite, clothing. And he found out that these girls were in their late teens, and they came in from out of town on a bus trip; yes, they were Amish, but yes, this was a trip sponsored by their Amish community, and one of the girls said she was on this trip to hopefully find a husband. And it seems that they were doing this, they were allowing this much technology into the outskirts of their lives, to find someone else to have children with. Ah, the choices we make. The sacrifices we make to help our lives, or the things we are willing to destroy when faced with insurmountable decisions. — the poem: A Retired Policeman Talks About Suicides He's Seen As a cop, I remember one lady, we found her in her bathtub, she cut her throat. That's odd, for women, normally they take pills, they don't like to disfigure themselves. But she knew what she was doing, cutting her throat in a full bath. Less messy that way. Autopsy said she was full of barbiturates. She was a nurse, that explained how she knew how to do it, but then we found out that she was pregnant, too. And to top it off, her brother was a priest. — the prose: Technology and Communication (which is prose that has a bit of the poem "Communication '05" in it) Oh, I'm sorry. I was listening to my iPod. Oh, wait, let me see, maybe I can hook this up to play the music for you. You know, I was thinking about it - advancements in technology have been a wonderful thing, and many say it's brought the world closer together, have kept people more connected. And on some levels I can totally agree with that - I mean, I read submissions from email, saving paper and ink and postage, I keep magazines on line so people around the world can read good writing, I've even had musicians from Wisconsin, Ohio and Tennessee find my readings and set music to my words. But in the same respect, I sit all day at the same desk, staring at the web sites for the domain names I run, instead of actually meeting and working with people. I mean, at one point, the people i emailed the most lived in the same city as me, and were only a local call away. in fact, one of my friends lived a block-and-a-half away from me, on the same street as me, but i still emailed her as much as i'd call her, even though i could just walk over to her house and have an actual conversation with her. And even the phone, with cell phones you can carry a phone with you wherever you go, so you'll never be lonely, but it seems to give teenagers another reason to talk endlessly on the phone... And I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to attack someone at a bar, who is there with friends, who gets a walkie-talkie-style call from someone, and they take turns screaming their heads off to get little phrases to someone who couldn't even be there with them. I mean, the iPhone just came out, combining a cell phone with an iPod, as well as email and Internet web browsing. But some bits of technology allow you to tune the world out, like the iPod here. When people see these headphones on someone, they know that you've apparently found something bigger and better than them for their lives right now... But even without technology, when I go for walks every morning, I wear the iPod, but I also wear sunglasses, even if it's overcast, so no one knows if I am studying every person I pass. With a lot of the technology we have now, we can learn about the rest of the world - or we can tune out the rest of the world and ignore any news that doesn't fit in with what we want to believe. — the poem: The Carpet Factory, The Shoes i heard a story today about a little boy one of many who was enslaved by his country in child labor in this case he was working for a carpet factory he managed to escape he told his story to the world he was a hero at ten but the people from the factory held a grudge and today i heard that the little boy was shot and killed on the street he was twelve and then people complain to me when i buy shoes that are made in china now i have to think did somebody have to die for these will somebody have to die for these — the prose: Differences in China: children & trains Children in different parts of the world... I saw in China once a little boy outside, a toddler, drop his pants at the street side at a market and just start pissing on the sidewalk. And as I saw this, I saw that all the people there weren't even bothered by this... Someone explained to me that while they're little, toddler boys in China can go to the bathroom like that outside - but if he goes number 2, the mother has to pick up his feces (you know, like they were taking care of a dog). But on the trains in China, they had a television screen in every car, with clips from what seemed like "America's Funniest Home Videos." Well, I couldn't understand a thing anyone was saying in China on this show on the train, but you couldn't help but watch, and you couldn't help but laugh. It was a great means of bringing levity when you're on a public train, like when you're on your way to work every morning on the el. — the poem: Private Lives 2005 sitting on the el train i saw a middle-eastern man sitting across from me holding a large Zip-Loc bag of some sort of food paste, i couldn't tell, it looked like some sort of curry-filled food paste and the man looked unhappy, and after a few minutes i saw him open up the Zip-Loc bag, throw up into it, then close the bag again so, he was carrying his vomit with him on the el at least he had a bag he could seal it up with — the prose: Passport To Outer Space And a lot of us have experiences around the city, and I've tried to see the world, not just this continent, but 15 European countries, Russia, China... I've searched for these stories around the world, I've gotten my passport stamped like mad... but my sister told me about Don Stump, a friend of my dad's who ran a restaurant, well, his father-in-law apparently bought and had the rights to the space in outer space (you know, like all of the space beyond out atmosphere between planets and stars and comets and asteroids and stuff...). My sister even said that his father-in-law stamped the passports of the astronauts that went into outer space, since they were crossing the areas he owned. But Don Stump was pushed away from their house once, because at least two men from the FBI were there... Apparently Don's father-in-law was minting coins, it wasn't money that was valid anywhere, but it's illegal for U.S. residents to try to make any sort of profit this way, the way they might have potentially done. Now, Don and his wife and parents have passed away, so.... I guess there's no way I can pay them for having my passport stamped for going to outer space. But when you're up high in the Earth's atmosphere, a lot of places look the same. I mean, Siberia, with snow peaks and mountain lines along the eastern coast, looks like the Rockies in America in the winter. It's only when you get closer to the ground do you see the real differences. — parts of the poem: In The Air Chicago looks grand from the sky with this huge expanse of lake next to it, like civilization crept up as far as it could but finally had to stop. The power of nature stopping the power of mankind... Daylight, and the snow on the ground in the winter time looks dirty, too many cars have splashed mud on it as they drove by. And in the winter the sky always matches the shade of grey of the snow: fitting for the city of the Blues. Maybe the snow is already that color, that perfect shade of grey, when it falls from the sky in this city. When I'm in the air, I like to look out the window. Clouds look like cotton balls when you're above them, and when you're landing cars look like little ants, on a mission, bringing food back to their hill. And the streets look like veins, capillaries in some massive, monstrous body. And the farmlands look like little squares of colors. I wonder why each plot of land is a different color, what's growing there that makes them different. Or maybe it's that some of them are turning shades of red and brown because they are dying. And it always seems on a plane that you're stuck sitting next to someone that is either too wide for their seat, or is a businessman with his newspaper stretched out and his lap top computer on his little fold out table. Once, when I was on a flight back from D. C., a flight attendant walked by, stack of magazines in her hand, Time, Newsweek, Businessweek, and I stopped her, asking what magazines she had. And she replied, "Oh, these magazines are for men." This is a true story. And I asked her again what she had. I had already read Time, so I took Newsweek. — the poem: On An Airplane With A Frequent Flyer "I was once on a flight to Hawaii and I was waiting in line for the lavatory. There was always a line for a flight this long, you know, it seemed the washrooms were always on demand on a flight this long. So I finally got into the washroom, you know, and I looked into the toilet, and someone, well, lost the battle against a very healthy digestive system and left the "spoils" in the toilet, stuck. Maybe it didn't want to go down into the sewage tank where all the other waste from this long trip went to. Can you imagine all the stuff this airplane had to carry across the ocean? Well, anyway, so I saw this stuck in the toilet, and I went to the washroom, and when I was done i flushed and it still wouldn't budge, and so I opened the door and walked out into the aisle of the plane again. And there was this long line of people waiting to use this cramped little washroom, and I just wanted to tell them all, 'you know, I didn't do that.' And then it occurred to me that everyone, when they leave the bathroom on that plane, will think the exact same thing." — and the prose: Around the World, & sweet home Chicago And you know, I talk about travel around the world, but where we come from shows who we are. I mean, once I was on the other side of the world, at the Summer Palace, and an older man came over to me, knowing little english, and said, "My daughter and I wanted to know where you were from." So... not knowing how much geography they knew, I said, "I'm from the United States, in Illinois, in Chicago." And that's when this old man from the other side of the world said, "oh... my kind of town." And I started laughing, knowing the song, and then he said, "Frank Sinatra sang that." and I laughed more, then realizing that although I try to learn about the world, but my soul still hold on to my Chicago roots, other editors even comment on my style of writing being affected by being from the MidWest, being from Chicago... being from here affects my style and my art, oftentimes as much as my family history. Also one very distressed young cow is shown at the end of the video. She was very vocal and called for a long time. She would run toward the stockaid. It appeared another was trapped in the stockaid and she was trying to communicate this. Buffalo are social animals who look out after each other.

He is charged with second degree aggravated assault and evading and resisting arrest but he is currently out on a $12,000 bond and he is on paid administrative leave despite what happened. His victim is Tamara Vaughan. She is 18 years old. On Sunday July 22, 2007, She was swimming with family members in the community pool of a gated community. Detective Keith Alfaro was in the pool area smoking a cigar despite a pool rule prohibiting smoking and he was talking on his cell phone. When she asked him not to smoke, he told her "You (racial slur) need to go back to the east side where you belong. Just because you think you have money, you think you can stay where y'all want...If you want to act like a man...treat you like a man." 18 year old Tamara told how he punched her in the face with a closed fist then beat her on her head, neck, chin, and her arms. She said he punched her about 25 times and also choked her. He kept beating her until he finally stopped on his own and walked away. Tamara was taken by ambulance to North Central Baptist Hospital. The investigation of the assault is being conducted by the Bexar County Sheriff's Department. This incident should never have happened. I reported witnessed police brutality in January 1991. Everything was shockingly covered up and since January 1991, I have been under SAPD sanctioned mobbing retaliation. After 9-11, my name was deliberately placed on the 'terror watch list', a cover for SAPD to operate, out-of-control, terroristic stalking and mobbing activities to harm me and to isolate me from anyone who might help me stop the victimization. I am SAPD's 'Poster Victim' on what they can get away with. Here we are in 2007. From the few videos I have uploaded, anyone can see the severe abuse I'm under. Follow me whenever I leave the house and watch as I'm stalked and harassed and threatened wherever I go. My house is not safe either. Twice, my home has been broken into. The first time my pet bird was tortured and killed in his cage. The second time I was home and I was severely beaten and raped. I was told women do not have the right to become Drs. What do you think is going to happen to anyone who comes forward as a witness for her? Recall that in January, 2002, an employee of the Bexar County Sheriff's department, Tammy Johnson, came to my home and asked me a substantial number of questions. I now understand the questions were to determine my vulnerability as a targeted victim. She even loaned me a camcorder to record the ongoing abuse. When I told her of my first successful recording of the ongoing SAPD helicopter terroristic flyovers, she couldn't get to my home fast enough to view the recording. She acted shocked and said that she didn't think I was going to be able to record the helicopter and then she left with the camcorder - but a blank tape inside. I switched tapes, not trusting her after the way she acted. I called her later and asked to borrow the camcorder to transfer the tape to a videotape to take to the San Antonio Police Chief, not trusting Internal Affairs anymore. She refused. She came to my home one more time. She told me she had bad news. She stated to me "They are going to kill you". "They" representing the terroristic stalking/mobbing network. She told me I needed to write my will and to sign my house over to her so that my pets would not be harmed. I refused. I had already paid her $2000 in cash at my bank out of the $10,000 requested to stop the terroristic stalking. She left angry. Later she called. She requested again that I pay her $10,000. I refused. She asked me if I knew about the woman who had been killed by two rottweilers. I said yes. (For the reader's information, a couple, who owned two Neapolitan mastiffs, hated their neighbor, a single attractive college educated woman. They would encourage their large dogs to act aggressively towards their neighbor who they hated so much until one day the dogs attacked and killed their neighbor). Bexar County Sheriff's Dep't employee, Tammy Johnson, then said "That should have been you those rottweilers killed. You are so passive you deserve to die". What she knew but you the reader does not know is that I have scarring on part of my upper lip and under my chin where I was bitten in the face when I was a child by the neighbor's dog and I was terrified for years of dogs I did not know until I learned quite a bit about dog behavior. I am a strong advocate for owning a dog and adopting that dog from the city pound where personally I feel the irresponsible owners should be, not the pets they treated like trash. Since then there was a brief news article in the San Antonio Express News about her. On January 22, 2005, she was stopped @2:35am for driving 65mph in a 50mph zone. She was the second Bexar County Sheriff's deputy charged with a DWI for that month. The officer who stopped her also noted a smell from the car raising his suspicion of the use of an illicit drug. Her supervisor in the Bexar County Sheriff's Department was at that time Amadeo Ortiz, the brother of then SAPD Police Chief Albert Ortiz. The Bexar County Sheriff is Ralph Lopez. He was with SAPD for 34 years before retiring and becoming Bexar County Sheriff. In an San Antonio Express News article August 3, 2007, author Ken Rodriguez stated that Detective Keith "Alfaro proclaims his innocence" and quoted another officer as saying "He felt his safety and the safety of his family was threatened." San Antonio Express News writer Rick Casey in a January 12, 2003 article asked "The police union's action committee is one of the largest contributors to the City Council. Will council members react in the light of the day as reasonable employers, or as paid agents?" I think additional questions to ask and investigate are: What information will they be gathering on City Council candidates and will there be any coercion or extortion measures enacted from union police officers to force City Council members to give them the $55 million contract they want which includes significant pay raises for the union police officers. ________________________________________ 'Cop faces jail time for groping nurses' San Antonio Express News article October 19, 2006 35 year old San Antonio Police Officer Randy Ramirez pleaded no contest to charges that while he was on duty he groped several nurses at Baptist Medical Center downtown. The incidents that were reported took place from February through May The article said he frequently stopped by the emergency room for coffee and to see a friend. According to the article the nurses said in police affidavits that they did not immediately report Ramirez to police because they feared retaliation. One of his victims told him she was going to report him and he replied "Who's going to believe you? I'm a cop." I think what is important is that the nurses were so afraid of retaliation. The questions should be what did they know that they were so afraid of retaliation, retaliation from whom... A San Antonio Express News article November 23, 2005 states that the "University Health System, which is a partner in AirLife with Baptist Health System..." ___________________________________ 'SAPD detective facing charges in Floresville' San Antonio Express News article September 13, 2005 39 year old San Antonio Police Detective James Joseph Montanio is a 12 year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department. At a McDonald's in Floresville, he asked a woman and her sisters to lift up their shirts anad then he grabbed his crotch. He yelled vulgar comments at them. He was arrested in Floresville on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was released on bond and returned to duty at the San Antonio Police Department. ___________________________________ SAPD helicopter pilots are also SAPD police officers. The very public terroristic stalking by air by San Antonio police officers using police helicopters began on September 27, 2001. At or about 11:45 a.m. on that date, I observed a helicopter flying in the clear blue sky heading West above a small greenbelt area behind my home. The helicopter caught my attention for several reasons: I don't recall seeing a helicopter in the almost twelve years that I had lived at my residence before this date; air space was under restrictions due to the terrorists' September 11, 2001 air attacks on the U.S.; and it was less than three weeks from the horrifying terrorists' attacks of 9-11. I watched from my backyard as the helicopter turned and began heading North and flew over the property parallel to mine and over my neighbor's home. I looked and kept looking for any identifying letters and/or numbers on the aircraft's visible side and tail section but I didn't see any. I observed the helicopter as it flew over and past my neighbor's property, gaining altitude and heading slightly Northwest over the subdivision I live in. Abruptly, the helicopter turned around and was directed in a dive bomb descent over the roof of my home at me in my backyard. I went as far back as I could to the back corner of my fence and was trapped there at my locked six foot backyard gate that gives access to the greenbelt area behind my backyard. I'm grateful for the trees in the greenbelt area protectively backing up to my backyard and the power lines above my back fence. They restricted how low the helicopter could get. The helicopter HOVERED JUST ABOVE the power lines overhead. I read the word POLICE in bold letters on the underside of the helicopter. Then the helicopter after a long hovering, turned in place and headed North again. I ran to my house and grabbed my camera but the helicopter was by then out of sight. I called the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) and spoke with Sergeant Moseley (spelling?) from Internal Affairs. He placed me on hold while he called and spoke with the SAPD Helicopter Division and relayed to me that he was told no SAPD helicopter was in my area at the time I gave him for the helicopter incident. I questioned him. Then where did the helicopter come from? Wasn't anyone concerned over what had just happened? In reply, he gave me the SAPD Helicopter Division phone number to call and talk to someone there which I did. I called the SAPD Helicopter Division and spoke with Sergeant Torres who identified himself as the SAPD supervising staff member of the SAPD Helicopter Division. I could not understand why Sergeant Torres was not concerned about what had happened, especially a helicopter with the word POLICE on its underside, especially considering the heightened state of alert since 9-11 and concern that there could be more air attacks by terrorists. As I spoke with Sergeant Torres, he repeated some of what I said over the phone to an audience he had at his location. I could hear them laughing. They were laughing at me, laughing at my distress, laughing at my fear for the safety of others who could become targets of the unidentified helicopter with the word POLICE on its underside that had just terrorized me in my backyard. Why were they laughing? Why didn't they think that what I told them was alarming? I kept questioning Sergeant Torres until he finally 'confessed' that, YES, an SAPD helicopter was in my area at the time given. He said they were looking for an abandoned vehicle. In my small fenced-in back yard? He said 'they' didn't see me. An OUTRAGEOUS LIE. Anyone who's flown in a plane and looked out the window, while it was daylight, during a take-off and/or landing, is aware of how well 'they' in the helicopter did see me as 'they' were flying just a few feet above the height of typical streetside power lines. I told Sergeant Torres that what 'they' did was terrifying, my heart was pounding when it happened, that it was not funny, and that I could have had a heart attack (family history of heart attacks and strokes), and that what 'they' did was irresponsible. Sergeant Torres' reply was a threatening tirade on how I needed to be supportive of law enforcement and the officers who risked their lives to protect life and property. Sergeant Torres covered up one serious wrongdoing with another serious wrongdoing - badgering me, the victim. There is no doubt in my mind that what the helicopter pilots did was deliberate and self serving in the same way as those who commit acts of violence against children, women, and pets. Sergeant Torres then retracted his 'confession' that I had obtained from him through careful questioning. He told me that the helicopter I saw was not SAPD's but was probably from one of the area cities' police departments. He said SAPD helicopters were royal blue with metal flaking and a gold stripe . I had described the helicopter as turquoise with a white diagonal stripe. Under my additional questioning, he did say that YES the word POLICE was on the underside of the SAPD helicopter. It should be clear to everyone that something is seriously wrong with SAPD if SAPD was not involved. Why wasn't the SAPD Helicopter Division concerned about the actions of that 'NOT SAPD' helicopter, especially since according to the information from Sergeant Torres, the helicopter with the word POLICE on its underside, besides being piloted in what I considered a terroristic action, was also out of its area of jurisdiction??? I called several of the area cities' police departments to identify the city police department responsible for that 'NOT SAPD' helicopter. I received the same answer from all of them: The SAPD Helicopter Division handles the helicopter services for all San Antonio area cities' police departments and also for the Sheriff's Department. That alone should be sufficient proof that Sergeant Torres had told me another OUTRAGEOUS LIE but there was still the problem with the discrepancy in the color of the helicopter. I called area airports. Once they learned SAPD denied involvement, they referred me elsewhere (out of fear of personal involvement?). I called the City of San Antonio Aviation Department Noise Abatement Office @ 210-207-3471 and spoke with Jerry Brinken who identified the helicopter as SAPD regardless of the color discrepancy. He said he could only write up the helicopter incident as a noise complaint and allegedly did so. I called a number given to me as the San Antonio District Office Flight Service Station where flight plans are filed @ 1-800-WXBRIEF (992-7433). I spoke with someone with a name sounding like Woodren (spelling?) who said he could only give me information if I had a call number. I called FAA San Antonio Flight Standards District office @ 210-308-3300. I spoke with 'Gracie' who referred me to 'Gary' who asked me to call him back at 3 p.m. at which time he told me he was waiting on information from Linn Scott (spelling?) and to call him back again at 3:30 p.m. which I did. Gary told me he gave the information on the helicopter incident to the International San Antonio Airport and there was no identification for that kind of helicopter with police written on the underside and no call numbers. There was no consideration given for a helicopter with call numbers that were not easily visible/readable. By calling in a complaint and trying to identify the two San Antonio police officers/pilots responsible for the September 27, 2001 incident, I was targeted for severe and extreme mobbing by air in addition to ground mobbing. The San Antonio Police Department remains unaccountable for its act of air terrorism on a woman alone in her backyard less than three weeks after 9-11. The San Antonio Police Department is frighteningly out of control by the activities it has engaged in to cover up for its police officers wrongdoings. The San Antonio Police Department continues to abuse and misuse resources available to it after initiating and continuing to date a very public terroristic mobbing targeting me as a victim involving collusion of governmental agencies at the local, state, and federal levels and nongovernmental agencies. The terroristic stalking by air, using helicopters, that I have videotaped and identified ownership of, have involved helicopters owned by the Military, the Department of Public Safety, EMS agencies, media agencies, and U.S. Customs as well as ongoing terroristic stalking by helicopters owned by the San Antonio Police Department. For over five years, I have videotaped aircraft, involved in stalking me, flying over my home, my backyard, my FORMER office that I had no choice but to close, over me when I'm driving, in parking lots of shopping centers... I have videotaped fuel dumping over my back yard, terroristic circling, nose dive flying at and over me, and disabling deliberate migraine triggering aircraft sounds. In January, 2002, an employee of the Bexar County Sheriff''s department, Tammy Johnson, came to my home and asked me a substantial number of questions. I now understand the questions were to determine my vulnerability as a targeted victim. She even loaned me a camcorder to record the ongoing abuse. When I told her of my first successful recording of the ongoing SAPD helicopter terroristic flyovers, she couldn't get to my home fast enough to view the recording. She acted shocked and said that she didn't think I was going to be able to record the helicopter and then she left with the camcorder - but a blank tape inside. I switched tapes, not trusting her after the way she acted. I called her later and asked to borrow the camcorder to transfer the tape to a videotape to take to the San Antonio Police Chief, not trusting Internal Affairs anymore. She refused. She came to my home one more time. She told me she had bad news. She stated to me "They are going to kill you". "They" representing the terroristic stalking/mobbing network. She told me I needed to write my will and to sign my home over to her so that my pets would not be harmed. I refused. I had already paid her $2000 in cash at my bank out of the $10,000 requested to stop the terroristic stalking. She left angry. Later she called. She asked me if I knew about the woman who had been killed by two rottweilers. I said yes. (For the reader's information, a couple, who owned two Neapolitan mastiffs, hated their neighbor, a single attractive college educated woman. They would encourage their large dogs to act aggressively towards their neighbor who they hated so much until one day the dogs attacked and killed their neighbor). Bexar County Sheriff's Dep't employee, Tammy Johnson, then said "That should have been you those rottweilers killed. You are so passive you deserve to die". What she knew but you the reader does not know is that I have scarring on part of my upper lip and under my chin where I was bitten in the face when I was a child by the neighbor's dog and I was terrified for years of dogs I did not know until I learned quite a bit about dog behavior. I am a strong advocate for owning a dog and adopting that dog from the city pound where personally I feel the irresponsible owners should be, not the pets they treated like trash. Since then there was a brief news article in the San Antonio Express News about her. She had been the subject of a traffic stop and the officer who stopped her noted a smell from the car raising his suspicion of the use of an illicit drug. Of course she still wears the Bexar County Sheriff's Department uniform and service gun. Law enforcement is a family above the law and covers for its own. I need to add some more videos then I will tell you who I contacted for help... Obviously no one has yet been held accountable for the terroristic stalkings. I'm still videotaping and the stalkers are freaking out because I found youtube and while they may have been able to control covering up what they have done in San Antonio and Texas, anyone outside their retaliation range can speak out against what they are doing and get the legislation passed to stop this in my state and your state and our democratic nation. Not so, said Hubert Selby, in his novel, LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN. For a good deal of the working class, times were still tough. Preyed upon by crime, toyed with by factory owners and unions, and, ultimately, shackled by their own ignorance, the working class had their promise of a white picket fence and primrose garden vacated. In Brooklyn, particularly, things were acutely tough. Manufacturing jobs were on a rapid decline, as companies moved out of town or out of state (which was why those companies remaining in Brooklyn were able to mess with their employees: take it or leave it, was their attitude). At the same time, an influx of immigrants seeking jobs made the hunt for work even more competitive--another bonus for the remaining factory owners. Slums rapidly worsened, so much so that Dodger owner Walter Alston decided his team's future was in jeopardy. L.A. looked like a much safer place for a stadium.
But neither Selby nor director Uli Edel portrayed this working class as merely innocent victims. Neither the book nor the film is a didactic rant about class warfare. The poor had their own vices of greed, brutality, and dissipation. Just about every other scene has someone going through someone else's wallets, union funds or pockets. If they aren't doing that, they're drinking, fighting, or whoring. It's a pretty dismal world. The natural response to this film might be: "Wait a minute. Not everyone working class Johnny-Punchclock guy was a criminal. Most people worked hard and honestly." Of course, this is true but it's not the film's concern. This is a study of those who were trapped in that world, and this study is compelling and horrifying.
Uli Edel has perfectly captured this bleak world, either bathing everything in a garish light or obscuring it in heavy shadows. The performances are brilliant. There's no understating Jennifer Jason Leigh's gritty and powerful performance. Also keep an eye out for a cameo by Hubert Selby as the driver who hits Georgette. Not for the weak-stomached and definitely not for kids, LAST EXIT TO BROOKLYN is as cinematographically close to the innermost circle of urban hell as you can get.
