As the election heats up, here come the attack ads! The National Black Republican Association, has launched a racially charged ad targeting Senator Barack Obama and of course, the media whipping boy Jeremiah Wright.
The National Black Republicans Association (NBRA) is a Florida based group of African American conservatives. NBRA is led by Dr. Frances Rice, a staunch conservative who is an African American. Rice was former lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force, by my account. Her group is funded by the Heritage Foundation and has at most over 100 members. http://nbra.info/
She along with many on the conservative right has launched ads claiming that Senator Obama is too "radical" and "anti-American".
In the previous elections, the NBRA has launched controversial radio ads in states such as Maryland, Ohio, Florida and Pennsylvania. The group claims that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican.
The controversial ads were ineffective and really did political damage to former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, former Florida Congresswoman Katherine Harris, former Maryland lieutenant governor Michael Steele, and former Ohio Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell, all Republicans respectively. Steele and Blackwell are the first Republican African Americans from their home state to run for higher political office.
Once again, for those who are racist and self loathing, who are you to call a sitting senator from a state that a majority of his constituents voted for, an anti-American?
Before you answer, here's where I am come from. There is just too much hate in our country. As Clinton struggles to keep pace with Barack Obama in pledged delegates, in superdelegates, and in campaign contributions, her argument to stay in the race has shifted several times in the past few weeks...She refrained from engaging her opponent directly but did take him to task for not supporting the federal gas tax holiday. Clinton said Obama calls it "a gimmick" which prompted one man in the audience to yell "We need that gimmick!" Clinton ended her speech with a final plea to voters to turn out tomorrow saying again, "West Virginia has nearly always picked the next president." She even called on young voters to get involved in the election. "I am asking for you help tomorrow. Those of you who have just turned old enough to vote, I would be honored to have your first vote."

Though she has now apologized for that very strange and tasteless comment to the Argus-Leader, this was not the first time she's said it. This from her interview with TIME Managing Editor Richard Stengel, published March 6:
TIME: Can you envision a point at which--if the race stays this close--Democratic Party elders would step in and say, "This is now hurting the party and whoever will be the nominee in the fall"?
CLINTON: No, I really can't. I think people have short memories. Primary contests used to last a lot longer. We all remember the great tragedy of Bobby Kennedy being assassinated in June in L.A. My husband didn't wrap up the nomination in 1992 until June. Having a primary contest go through June is nothing particularly unusual.
Her excuse now is that the Kennedys have been "much on my mind these days" with the illness of Senator Edward Kennedy, but that doesn't explain what brought it to mind more than two months ago.
