The wedding ceremony was just a private party that ressembled a Moroccan wedding: there were no mariage contract signed what's so ever.
The court convicted the men based only on videos of the party that were published on youtube without the people's involved consent (Videos that radical tabloid-becoming newspapers promoted in a non-neutral maneer for comercial purposes which prompted unprecendented grouped islamic homophobic violence in the city against the men) & Instead of judging the public, the newspapers, and so on for aggressing the privacy & freedom of expression & conscience of the homosexuals, the court chose to jail the latters from between 6 to 10 months just based on the videos and people's overreaction & without any credible evidence of the men violating the baseless unjust & vague article in the first place
In this part of the video, Moroccan & Maghrebian homosexuals speak up & explain their hell-life & the hypocrisy of their retarded uni-dimensional self-righteous ignorance-educated "earth is flat" dark-age naive 3rd-world culture.

Early life Welch was born in Chicago, Illinois, (More) Jo Raquel Tejada (born September 5, 1940), best known by her stage name Raquel Welch, is an American actress who reached fame during the 1960s. Early life Welch was born in Chicago, Illinois, the oldest of three children born to Armando Carlos Tejada Urquizo and Josephine Sarah Hall. Her father, who immigrated from La Paz, Bolivia, was an aerospace engineer of Spanish-Castilian descent; her mother was an Irish-American.[1] In 1942, Armando Tejada was transferred to San Diego, California. The family moved to the suburb of La Jolla, where Welch grew up. She took dancing lessons as a child, and was winning beauty pageants by the time she was a teenager. Among her titles were "Miss Photogenic," "Miss La Jolla," "Miss Contour," and "Miss San Diego." In 1957, she was named "Miss Fairest of the Fair" at the San Diego County Fair. After attending La Jolla High School, she entered San Diego State College on a theater arts scholarship. The following year she married a high school sweetheart, James Welch. [edit] Career In 1959, Welch played the title role in the famous Ramona Pageant, a yearly outdoor play at Hemet, California, which is based on the novel Ramona by Helen Hunt Jackson. Raquel Welch as Loana in One Million Years B.C. (1966) She became a weather forecaster at KFMB, a local San Diego television station. Because of her heavy schedule, she decided to leave college. Her marriage broke up and she moved with her two children to Dallas, Texas, where she modeled for Neiman Marcus and worked as a cocktail hostess, intending to move on to New York City from there. Instead, Welch moved back to California. She found a place in Los Angeles and started making the rounds of the movie studios. She was cast in bit parts in two films and in the television shows Bewitched, McHale's Navy, The Hollywood Palace, and The Virginian. She auditioned for the part of "Mary Ann" on Gilligan's Island but lost out to Dawn Wells.[citation needed] Welch's first featured role was in A Swingin' Summer, which led to a contract with 20th Century Fox. She was then cast in the Sci-fi hit Fantastic Voyage (1966), which finally made her a star. On loan out to Hammer Studios in Britain, Welch starred in the remake of One Million Years B.C.. After her appearance as Lust incarnate in the hit Bedazzled, she returned to the United States and appeared in a Western with James Stewart and Dean Martin titled Bandolero!, which was followed by Lady in Cement with Frank Sinatra. Myra Breckinridge (1970) Welch's first real starring role was in Myra Breckinridge with Mae West. She took the role as the film's transsexual heroine in an attempt to be taken seriously as an actress, but the movie turned out to be a dismal failure. Welch became one of the leading sex symbols of the 1960s and 1970s. Her most memorable publicity still, where she was clad in a furry animal-skin bikini for One Million Years B.C., became a bestselling poster. Playboy called her the "Most Desired Woman" of the 1970s. Ironically, despite her iconic sex symbol status, having acted in numerous films and been subject of countless magazine layouts, including Playboy, Welch has never appeared or posed nude. Welch was due to star in the 1982 adaptation of Cannery Row, but was fired by the producers only a few days into production (allegedly, she was taking too long to get ready each day). She was replaced with Debra Winger. Welch successfully sued, collecting a multi-million dollar award, but this effectively ended her film acting career until the mid-1990s. Her television appearances include the series The Hollywood Palace, the made for TV movies The Legend of Walks Far Woman and Right to Die, in which she turned in a stirring performance as a woman with Lou Gehrig's disease, and in the PBS series American Family, about a Mexican American family in East Los Angeles. She has also appeared in the night time soap opera Central Park West and made infomercials and exercise videos. While she never appeared on the show, her name was frequently used as an all-purpose answer on the game show Match Game. In 1987, she flirted with a pop singing career, releasing the dance single This Girl's Back In Town. She has also performed in a nightclub act in Las Vegas and has starred on Broadway in Woman of the Year and in Victor/Victoria, replacing Julie Andrews. In a 1997 episode of the comedy series Seinfeld entitled "The Summer of George" Welch played a highly temperamental version of herself, assaulting series stars Kramer and Elaine, the former because he fired her from an acting job and the latter because Welch mistakenly thought that Elaine was mocking her. On July 18, 2007 Liz Smith reported that Welch has been invited to play Eva Longoria's sexy aunt on Desperate Housewives.[2] [edit] Beauty business career "The Raquel Welch Total Beauty and Fitness Program" was published in 1984. The book, written by Welch herself includes a Hatha Yoga fitness program, her views on healthy living/nutrition, as well as beauty and personal style. As a businesswoman Welch has experienced great success with her signature line of wigs. She also began a jewelry and skincare line although neither of those ventures compared to the success of her wig collection. In January 2007 she was revealed as the newest face of MAC Cosmetics Beauty Icon series. Her line features several limited edition makeup shades in glossy black and tiger print packaging. [edit] Latin American status Her professional name, Raquel Welch, served as protection against discrimination in Hollywood.[citation needed] Many other stars did the same in times prior to the 1990s. The names included people like Rita Hayworth. With the recent attention and acceptance by the American public of people of Latin descent, she has been coming out and reminding people of her Hispanic heritage.[citation needed] On July 18, 2007 Liz Smith reported that Welch is proud of her Bolivian roots.[2] [edit] Personal life She has been married to James Welch (1959-1962), publicist and agent; Patrick Curtis (1967-1972), director/producer Andre Weinfeld (1980-1990); and Richard Palmer (1999). She is the mother of Damon Welch (b.November 6,1959) and actress Tahnee Welch (b.December 26,1961). She is a fan of Chelsea FC, or was "in the '70s".[3] During the 70s, she attempted to date shock rocker Alice Cooper. He attempted to avoid her since he was dating a dancer that would become his wife [edit] Achievements and awards In 1974, Raquel Welch won a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress in a Musical or Comedy for The Three Musketeers. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the TV drama Right to Die (1987). She was also the recipient of the Golden Turkey Award for worst actress. She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7021 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood. [edit] Trivia Trivia sections are discouraged under Wikipedia guidelines. The article could be improved by integrating relevant items and removing inappropriate ones. Raquel Welch is a relative of the only female president of Bolivia, Lydia Gueiler Tejada. Raquel Welch's son, Damon Welch, married Rebecca Trueman, the daughter of cricketing legend Fred Trueman, a union of the acting and sporting worlds but the marriage was short-lived. Raquel Welch arrived at the wedding after the bride, completely upstaging her. She claimed at the time that her lateness was because she had been giving an interview and lost track of the time, but later she admitted that she had done it on purpose, knowing that the press would write about her, so she planned to give them something to write about. When the couple announced they were splitting up in Hello!, they emphatically denied that the split was anything to do with Welch. Raquel Welch's daughter, Tahnee Welch followed her mother's December 1979 example and appeared on the cover of Playboy, the November 1995 issue. Raquel's publicity poster for the movie One Million Years B.C. played an integral role in the film The Shawshank Redemption, by serving to hide the tunnel Andy Dufresne was digging to escape from Shawshank (Less)

American striptease nurtured its roots in carnivals and Burlesque theatres featuring famous strippers such as Gypsy Rose Lee and Sally Rand. The vaudeville trapeze artist Charmion performed a "disrobing" act onstage as early as 1896, which was captured in an Edison film, "Trapeze Disrobing Act" in 1901 . Another milestone for modern American striptease is the possibly legendary show at Minsky's Burlesque in April of 1925: The Night They Raided Minsky's. The Minsky brothers brought burlesque to New York's 42nd Street. However the burlesque theatres here were prohibited from having striptease performances in a legal ruling of 1937 leading to the later decline of these "grindhouses" (named after the bump 'n grind entertainment on offer) into venues for exploitation cinema.
The sixties saw a revival of striptease in the form of topless go-go dancing. This eventually merged with the older tradition of burlesque dancing. Carol Doda of the Condor Night Club in the North Beach section of San Francisco is given the credit of being the first topless go-go dancer. The club opened in 1964 and Doda's première topless dance occurred on the evening of June 19 of that year. The large lit sign in front of the club featured a picture of her with red lights on her breasts. The club went "bottomless" on September 3, 1969 and began the trend of explicit "full nudity" in American striptease dancing.San Francisco is also the location of the notorious Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theatre. Originally an X-rated movie theater this striptease club pioneered lap dancing in 1980, and was a major force in popularizing it in strip clubs on a nationwide and eventually world wide basis.
In the seventies, with changing cultural expressions of sexuality, striptease declined in profitability and status. In the technology boom of the eighties and nineties, those in the profession enjoyed increased acceptance and better working conditions.

**PART 1
'A Cor OberT' with GuiLLem Clua
With Open Heart [ Heart-to-Heart ]
I don't think that the plot of Max and IagO are more important than the others, in a sitcom like El Cor there is always a main plot and several secondary plots, although that can change as the sTory goes on, it might happen that a certain week the Max or Iago's plot become more important, but it depends of the plot not of the fact that they are gay.
-What do viewers think?
Well, there are two polemic issues here, the first one that they are two men and the other is to show sex, and both thinks are intrinsically shocking to be shown together.
[ scene of Max and MiKi ]
Some people think that this plot tends to increase the cliché that gay people are promiscuous because we are showing a story of sex between men, but I always give the same answer, which is that it's vital that part of the gay community feel identify with this story, because this are the kind of things that happen in their everyday lives. There is no reason to make a scandal over it. In El Cor we try to reflect the gay reality, and part of this reality is the one we show. Probably the mistake many people often make is to think that gay characters, which are a minority like in the society, represent all the gays in the world. It's not like that.
-Max, EnriC, IagO, Edu and IsabeleTa are gay . . . are they a minority?*
Well yeah they are a minority, there are only 3 main gay characters and one secondary, each one has their own plot. They have very few friends since if there is a gay couple and there's a third person, the other is gotta be gay too. That can't be changed. Is like a love story.
[ scenes of a girl and who I believe to be Peris' son kissing and eTc ]
Other plots in El Cor also have a sexual part, for example Nuria who was dominated by Victor in season 4, or NoeLia with Rafael, well there have been scenes of violation, sadomasochism, which are very shocking, but they haven't had such a repercussion because now in this case there are two men, and I understand this situation [ people are not used to it ].
-What do writers care more about when creating gay characters?
When we create a character we don't care about differences like if the character is gay, straight or whatever. What we care about is what this character will show and the way they'll show it. It is vital for people to understand the meaning of a sex scene, whether it is with gay or straight characters. Of course for many people is a little hard to understand because they are not used to see a scene of two men being affectionate to each other. If the audience finds it way too shocking or too different the plot won't succeed.
[ lesbian scene ]
In TV3 sitcoms there are always gay characters. For example PoBla Nou, where there was a gay character that was very important for the story. Well in this sitcoms, the gay theme was managed in a more didactic way.
[ men kissing, women talking, kid saying "I saw them kissing!" and mom saying "Shut uP!" ]
The gay character in the soap opera had a normalization role; his reality was a problem for him and for people around him, like if it was an issue that needed to be solved. This plot had a very important goal which is to make the society more understanding about the gay reality.
[ girl fighting with her dad about her girlfriend, she says the real reason why he's mad is because he can't understand two people loving each other and that he is unable to love, she says he disgust her and she receives a slap ]
All over the years the gay character has been evolving in the Catalonian TV, I believe that the didactic times have already finished in some way and now the gay characters can go beyond and be less politically correct. I mean there can be characters that besides being gay, which is a very important aspect of their personality, can be bad or can do things that are not socially accepted for people. This may also create problems of acceptance because they are not being politically correct.
[ scene of EnriC ehmm jerking off ]
This season of El Cor is a very brave one, and TV3 is very brave as well for showing the homosexuality more openly and explicitly, and that's great because that's the way young people, in this case MaX,EnriC and IagO, live their sexuality and they are not afraid to show their feelings in public.
[ scene of MaX and IagO almooosT kissing ]
In addition, what we are showing here is what we always show in El Cor: Feelings, love and more love in stories that happen in real life situations, and because we show it in El Cor, a lot of people watch it and can give their opinion, or scandalize, or get mad. However, it is still a real life story, and because it is one it belongs to El Cor.

2008-04-21 15:59:37 Description: Rising even higher than the greatest expectations engendered by the International Press when it became a favorite of the film festivals, BEAUTIFUL BOXER is one of the more poetic, sensitive, (More) Rising even higher than the greatest expectations engendered by the International Press when it became a favorite of the film festivals, BEAUTIFUL BOXER is one of the more poetic, sensitive, luxuriously vivid and colorful films to come out of Thailand - and that is saying a lot, given the extravagant epics that yearly grow in popularity. This work of art is simply stunning in content, in direction, in acting, and in heartfelt simplicity of message. This is a great one! Writer/director Ekachai Uekrongtham based his first film on the true story of Parinaya Charoemphol AKA Nong Toom, a famous Thai athlete Muay Thai boxer (better known as 'kick boxer' - a demanding, dangerous sport) who entered the world of Muay Thai to garner enough money to help his family and pay for his ultimate sex-change surgery. A tough story to offer general audiences, perhaps, but Ekachai Uekrongtham presents this edgy biography with such cinematic finesse and care that it becomes a film that should appeal to a very wide audience. And much of that success is due to the towering performance by Asanee Suwan in his acting debut: Suwan is in life a professional kick boxer who won the title role after extensive auditions by many practitioners of Muay Thai.
BEAUTIFUL BOXER takes us through the life of Nong Toom, his childhood in a family of loving accepting parents who respect his love of beauty and things feminine, his brief period of being a monk who must leave the monastery because of his inclinations, through his introduction to makeup and play-acting women's roles in the Thai theaters, his ridicule as being more girl than boy (a fact that results in his parents' incarceration!), and his devoted friendship with a girl who supports his desire for femininity and a young man who stands up for him in the boys' camp for learning sports. Gradually Nong Toom realizes that the only way he can make enough money to achieve a sex change operation is to become a successful kick boxer and he aligns himself with a trainer Pi Chart (Sorapong Chatree) and with much commitment and practice becomes Thailand's most famous Muay Thai. His self-respect is further established when he openly wears makeup in the boxing ring, causing many to believe his act is a gimmick and not the manifestation of his true transsexualism. He fights the toughest opponents and wins consistently until he at last arrives in Toyko for the 'big purse' of fighting female wrestler Kyoko Inoue (who plays herself). With the money from the fight he is able to have his surgery and becomes the famous actress and model now living in Bangkok.
Under less sensitive eyes and minds this story could have become audacious, but instead the film elects to be sensitive to the transsexual conviction that Nong Toom is a woman trapped in a man's body, and it is the journey of self acceptance and personal victory that makes the story so deeply touching. Asanee Suwan, as a fine athlete, does all of his own fighting in the film and it is more choreography than brutality. He is amazing to watch and coupled with the fact that he is so wholly convincing in his fine acting that he makes this young transsexual utterly credible in movement, emotional density, and purity of vision is an extraordinary achievement.
Yes, the film has a few flaws of editing and other minor aspects, but the overwhelming power of the story more than compensates for those 'first film' learning curves. Highly recommended for ALL audiences, especially for those who fear there will be gratuitous physical scenes that might offend. There are none! Grady Harp

Back in the 1990's and ravenously hungry for some real old school, voluptuous glamour, it would be hard to exaggerate the effect that Anna Nicole Smith's 1992 nine-page Guess campaign had on me and my young friends, both male and female, all of us film classic buffs. The super models like Cindy Crawford and Claudia Schiffer had never appealed to us with their faux reinterpretation of the 1950's bombshell. Madonna was still vainly ripping off Marilyn Monroe but her bulging triceps, flat bottom, square hip to waist to ratio and six pack just didn't cut it and we hated her for trying to hijack Marilyn's mythic legacy. Even British Vogue committed the mortal sin of comparing the rail thin Christy Turlington to "a young Sophia Loren," an act that would surely send them to hell, we all mused. Quickly seeing through the clever clothing tricks and PR hype, we knew all of these wannabees were about as close to Monroe, Loren, and Bardot as New Kids On The Block. Would the media ever really deliver "the real thing," much less a reasonable facsimile? One day our prayers were answered. The terrifying "heroin-chic" waif model movement lead by Kate Moss and Kristen McMenamy was just gaining force, and yet suddenly, all over the magazines, there was this bodacious blond nearly 6 feet tall with complete curves everywhere. Large breasts, small waist, an unheard-of set of 39 inch hips and strong, solid legs with healthy thighs. Her doll-like face and cupid's-bow mouth radiated a true vintage pinup look which was set off by the most unearthly shade of platinum blond since Harlow. In some shots she danced in a clingy dress, her full, wide backside left unadulterated by the art department; in others, her bodacious calves and thighs wielded a pair of six-inch stiletto platforms with all the dexterity of an expert flying twin kites on a blustery day. She looked sophisticated and commanding, a true amazon and the only heir apparent to Anita Ekberg, one of my most adored actresses. So a few months later, when my best friend Trisha and I saw a picture of Anna Nicole Smith in her previous and small-chested incarnation via an old photo sniffed out by US magazine we were disappointed to learn she was not 100% natural. But she had already grown on us by then and we were not ready to divorce her. She was after all a young mother, she'd come from poverty, she had a cartoon-like personality and an ancient husband who had put a huge diamond on her hand. She liked to eat and obviously loved sex more than the gym. Natural schmatural, the implant acceptance culture started with Anna Nicole Smith because they looked so good. The guys I knew were less concerned about the origins of the curves or even if she could talk.. "Hurt me!" was the response of Matt, the guy who sat next to me in English homeroom, "Anna can do whatever she wants with me, I don't care if they're fake!" And in an odd way, authentic size queens that we were, neither did we. You can actual chart 'implant acceptance' with the rise of both Pam Anderson and Anna Nicole Smith. My close friend Brian K who holds three, count em, three degrees from Stanford and has serenaded Polish busty sensation Ewa Sonnet, recalls his discovery of Anna Nicole at the age of 16: "When I was in high school back in her Guess? Girl days -- before Playboy, before reality TV -- Anna Nicole was like a muse to me. I had never been interested in the mainstream models at the time, and suddenly she came along and I realized what I had been missing -- a voluptuously feminine beauty, vivacious and proud to be different." I think he speaks for many of us. There are so few tall audacious amazons anymore and it's a shame..." -Super Amanda Song Credits: "Rene & Georgette Magritte With Their Dog After The War" by Paul Simon http://superamanda.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html (Less)

I give you a worksheet I created which is my personal MLM Online Success Step-By-Step 'Blueprint' that gives you the exact 1-2-3 step-by-step checklist I use to help me generate free leads and traffic using MySpace, YouTube, and many other little-known Web 2.0 technologies. (There's no guess work here... it's time-tested and proven to work every single time. If you follow this easy-to-follow 1-2-3 step-by-step 'To-Do' list exactly as I have laid it out without making any alterations, you could be getting free leads and traffic on demand for your business in as little as 48-hours depending on how fast you can go through the checklist and get things done.) It's based on a proven scientific mathematical formula that I learned from some of the biggest players in the marketing world. And like I said earlier, it's scientific, it's mathematical, and it's proven the test of time. Just like how 1+1=2... well, if you follow my proprietary MLM Gold Mine treasure map without any deviation... the predictable outcome on the other side of the formula is free leads and traffic chasing you and begging you to tell them more about your opportunity. • You get access to the *PRIVATE* MLM Gold Mine 'Members Only' training calls that I hold twice a month where I keep you up-to-date with the latest trends, secrets, tactics, and strategies that I learned from talking to my 'INNER CIRCLE' of the top internet marketers in the world. If you want to network with pioneer doers, sharp marketers, *SERIOUS* business-builders, and people who are up to *BIG* things with their business... there's no better place to network with other successful like-minded entrepreneurs who are also using my MLM Gold Mine system. Because think about it... each of these 'Members' were only accepted by *PRIVATE* invitation, or they had to fill-out an application and be 'APPROVED' before they could become a member of this 'MASTERMIND' group. And we are very 'SELECTIVE' on who we allow to 'let-in' to our MLM Gold Mine 'INNER CIRCLE'... because we don't just want anybody to be a part of this 'ELITE' group of ambitious entrepreneurs. We are only looking for the best-of-the-best, the sharpest minds, or people who truly have that burning-desire for success. The high-ticket price tag alone already weeds-out and scares away most wannabe entrepreneurs who are negative thinkers, whiners, complainers, and don't care much about success. Because of the $1,997.00 dollar price tag to apply... you'll only find *SERIOUS* business builders. And these are the best people to network with, bounce ideas with, they are successful, they are action-takers, pioneer doers, innovators, and if you want to take your business to the next level... the people of this *EXCLUSIVE* Mastermind Group can help you do it. • You'll get access to my private "MILLION DOLLAR" Rolodex of programmers, web designers, copywriters, people who are my 'GO-TO' guys... the guys who I turn to whenever I need something done. Also, as an extra bonus... I'll give you introductions to some of my best 'joint venture' partners. Guys with 1,000's and 1,000's of people on their mailing lists. Guys with massive *INFLUENCE*. Now I can't guarantee that they'll be willing to do any joint ventures with you, but I'll give you a simple *INTRODUCTION* and let you reference my name... but from there, it's up to you to build a relationship with them. And based on your own relationship that you establish with them, that will determine whether or not they'd be willing to do a joint venture with you for whatever you're up to. But at least I'll give you a way to get in the door which is sometime that hardest thing to do. You can only get an introduction to my joint venture partner as a member of my MLM Gold Mine system. • You'll get one 15-minute, private 'one-on-one' tele-consulting call with me, every other month. And don't be afraid to be embarrassed to share either... because if you know me... I failed for years and years and years before I finally hit it big. One of my mentors taught me that failing is inevitable... so you might as well fail forward as fast as you can and as much as you can in the shortest amount of time possible... that way you can get a lot of the failure out of the way very quickly... and then move forward towards achieving success much sooner! • Be willing to present your greatest successes as a video which we can post-up on our MLM Gold Mine sales page... and also be willing to share your successful experiences on our opportunity calls and training calls as well. • Attend 'at least' one of the two monthly training / coaching calls every month. • Have an honest desire to grow your business to 'at least' $1,000,000.00+ gross. • Maintain *CONFIDENTIALITY* of all sensitive information discussed at our private 'Members-Only' MLM Gold Mine Training / Coaching calls and our exclusive 'Inner Circle' 'In-Person' Mastermind meetings as well. • 12-Month Commitment to work through all of the different exercises recommended as part of the MLM Gold Mine Leadership Training & Development System. • You must *QUALIFY* before you will can be *APPROVED* to be accepted as a full member of the MLM Gold Mine System. • You must also agree to all of the terms and conditions found on the following web pages here: http://www.MLMGoldMine.com/agreement COST: $1997 Registers You To Receive Lifetime Benefits of Our MLM Gold Mine Membership Lifetime Subscription (Payment Must Be Submitted and Paid-In-Full To Your 'Authorized MLM Gold Mine Reseller' Along With Your Completed Application.) We are committed to personally reading each and everyone's story in this section because we really want to get to know who you are before we can determine whether or not you would be a good fit for our MLM Gold Mine Leadership Training & Development System. So tell me (and the rest of our MLM Gold Mine Mastermind team)... tell us more about yourself on this application. You want to include as much as you see fit that would allow us to get to know who you are, what your situation is, and anything else that can help us determine whether or not we have a match between what we are looking for... and what you have to offer. There are 3 main questions I would like you to answer... #1) Who are you... and what is it that you really want to accomplish in life? #2) What exactly *ATTRACTED* you about MLM Gold Mine? Why are you here? #3) What are your *STRENGTHS*... and what can you bring to the table that could benefit or contribute to all of us here at the MLM Gold Mine family? (For question #3, just think of any special talents, gifts, or things that you are really good at... or what are some of the things that are super easy for you... that might be hard for others?) By answering this 3rd question in detail... this will allow all of us to see what your strengths are... and that way if anyone one our Mastermind team has a 'weakness' in that area... perhaps we could connect you 2 together and 'barter' or exchange services so you can help each other out and we all can move our businesses forward. This 3rd question is great for networking or teaming-up with other people. For instance, let's say you may have a weakness like building websites... but if someone else on our team is really good at building websites and could do it on the fly with their eyes closed and both hands tied behind their backs... then this could potentially lead to many business partnership with other members who are not-so-good at building their own website. We could connect the 2 of you... and you guys can talk further about the possibility of exchanging services to help each other out. (This is just an example... but I think you get the point.) Now what you are going to find below is the actual questions I would like you to answer... then you're going to find several lines underneath the question to give you space to answer the question. If you need more lines, feel free to take out an extra blank sheet of paper and continue your answer to the question. After the lines underneath the question... you're going to see a sample of how I would answer that question myself. To give you some ideas, or leave you with a better sense of direction on how I would personally answer those questions. Remember... if you need more space, simply attach an additional sheet to this application and continue to write as much as necessary. Remember, we are committed to reading each and every application we receive... so be as specific and as detailed as possible... Because you may not realize this yet... but your answers to the questions on this application will actually help save you time when you get to the 6th Step of our proprietary MLM Gold Mine proven online success formula. Not only will this help your creative juices start flowing for creating your own compelling story for marketing purposes... but you could also use some of the ideas you write down here and use it for crafting your own MySpace profile using our *exclusive* 6-Step Formula for creating a powerful compelling story that actually brings you free red-hot leads chasing you... instead of you chasing them! So if you're ready to get started... here you go: #1) Who are you... and what is it that you really want to accomplish in life? (Don't forget to include what you want to accomplish with your business over the next up-coming 12-months.) HERE'S HOW I WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION #1... For me, my name is Dennis Karganilla. I'm about to turn 29-years-old on April 8th... and I have a *PASSION* for coaching and training others (especially when it comes to anyone who is 'entrepreneurial' and is looking to build a successful business online.) You see... last year, I realized how lucky and truly blessed I am to be able to really *EXPERIENCE* what it means to "Live A Life You Actually Love!" I got to travel all over the world from the beer halls of Munich, Germany... To taking yodeling lessons at the tops of the Swiss Alps... to riding on a gondola ride through the canals of Venice... partying it up in the streets of Barcelona, Spain... diving off the cliffs in the north shores of Hawaii... to rafting through the waters of the beautiful Philippine Islands. I could go on and on, but I think you get the point... life was just *GOOD*. But, after a while... I kind of got tired and *BORED* of just hangin' around in all of these different exotic vacation spots around the world... I wanted more *EXCITEMENT*... I want to do something *WORTHWHILE* and something that would actually *MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE* in the world... and so that's why in 2007... I made the commitment to give back. I committed to returning the favor to other people who have not yet had the good fortune of experiencing what it really means to live a life that you actually love. And that's why I started MLM Gold Mine. I made the commitment to create a *SAFE* place for entrepreneurs to hang-out, learn, network, and share their experiences with others so that we all could go out and create successful businesses online together. Because what a lot of super-successful people tend to find out more often than not is... it sometimes can get a little *LONELY* at the top. But the good news is... it doesn't have to be that way (That's why even if we're all in various different businesses... we can team-up *TOGETHER* and create success and wealth as a *TEAM* committed to *PROSPERITY* for all.) I truly want to provide whatever it is I can that will lead you to experience the same intensive rush of joy and peace in your life... the kind of joy, peace, and happiness that I am so lucky and blessed to have in my life right now. So my mission now has taken a complete turn. And my vision now is to touch, move, and inspire 1 *MILLION* entrepreneurs... and to *EMPOWER*, *TRAIN*, and *DEVELOP* 1 *MILLION* new leaders... from ordinary average Joe's just like me... and giving them a way to build confidence in themselves... and providing an access way to becoming the *LEADER* that they didn't even know existed inside of them. It's all about peace, love, joy, and happiness. It's all about making a positive difference in the world. (And there's nothing wrong with making a *TON* of money in the process as well! *wink*) The last other *HUGE* difference that makes my MLM Gold Mine system distinct from anything else out there in the whole entire internet is... my system is the 1st and *ONLY* system that actually "BRIDGES" the "Generational Gap". I'm the 1st people a lot of the younger and newer entrepreneurs who are in their 20's and 30's... I've created the first system ever that can actually relate to them. No other system out there can bridge the generational gap like my MLM Gold Mine system. I'm the 1st and the only one existent today. Finally, the 20's and 30's can drop out of the 'Old-School'... and join the 'New School'. Finally, someone was able to take the fundamental proven time-tested business principles that have worked for ages... and has now presented it in a medium and language that the 'New School Generation' can actually relate to and understand. And that's what sets my MLM Gold Mine system apart from anything else out there on the internet. Okay, so enough about me... now it's your turn. What is it that you really want to accomplish in life? What's your purpose? What's your vision? And why are you here? #2) What exactly *ATTRACTED* you about MLM Gold Mine? Why are you here? What do you want to get out of your involvement with our Leadership Training & Development System? HERE'S HOW I WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION #2... For me, MLM Gold Mine came about almost by complete accident. One of my personal goals was to 'connect' with other like-minded people who were my age. People who I could easily relate to. People who had similar interests as me. I call these people the 'NEO-Entrepreneurs'. Neo = New. And I borrowed the name 'NEO' from the main character of the movie 'The Matrix'. Because I grew up watching that stuff. I grew up playing Nintendo. I grew up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The internet was a part of my life while growing up. The 'Neo-Entrepreneurs' grew up using AIM (AOL instant messenger). We grew up and adapted the latest technologies (including cell phones, text messages, MySpace, and YouTube)... and all of these new technologies were simply just an everyday part of our lives. (If you grew up with this technology, know what "Saved By The Bell" is, and you've seen the movie "Napoleon Dynamite"... then you are a *TRUE* "Neo Entrepreneur".) I wanted to reach that market and really *EMPOWER* them and *INSPIRE* them with a message that showed them that you really can "Live The Life of Your Dreams" by following your *PASSIONS*. A lot of people give up on that... and it's just sad for me to see such wonderful, gifted, and talented people give up on their dreams and passions just to work in a job you hate... and working under B.O.S.S. that you can barely stand... (when spell B.O.S.S. backwards, it actually means he/she is a "Double S.O.B."! okay, just playin' around... gotta have some fun right?) So that's one of the main reasons why I originally started MLM Gold Mine... is because I wanted to reach out to the 'Neo-Entrepreneurs. But soon after I started to launch this stuff with MySpace and all the videos on YouTube... I soon found out that a whole lot of other people wanted to learn this same stuff too. A lot of older 'cats' wanted 'IN' on this info too... because even though they didn't fit into the age bracket I was looking to reach... many of them told me they still feel like the are only "30-years-old in heart". And so even if you're age is a bit older... but you feel like you're in your 20's or 30's at heart... and you're just totally *FASCINATED* by all of these new cutting-edge breakthrough Web 2.0 technology stuff... then you too also qualify to fit in the category of what I call being a 'NEO-ENTREPRENEUR'. So it evolved... and evolved... and evolved some more... and now MLM Gold Mine is where it is today. It's become a *COMMUNITY* of like-minded entrepreneurs. It's become a *FAMILY* of bright, ambitious, passionate people who are all focused on a single goal of building a successful business online... becoming leaders, making a positive difference in the world... and making a *BOAT-LOAD* of money too in the process!! That's why I started the MLM Gold Mine Leadership Training & Development System. And that's why it's now taken an entirely whole new life of it's own. So tell me more about what it was that *ATTRACTED* you to my MLM Gold Mine System... and what exactly is it that you are looking to get out of this. Please be as specific as possible. Tell me why you are here. Because based on what you answer with this question... that will give me a better sense of what me and my time would have to bring to the table to assist you in making this happen. So don't take this one lightly. Really get down in writing what it is you want to accomplish right here. #3) What are your *STRENGTHS*... and what can you bring to the table that could benefit or contribute to all of us here at the MLM Gold Mine family? (Why do you feel you're a good candidate for the MLM Gold Mine Leadership Training & Development System? And why should we choose you over other applicants?) HERE'S HOW I WOULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION #3... For me, my strengths are the 'know-how'. Because like I've told you before... I go to a lot of internet marketing seminars. And some of my buddies are the top marketers in the world when it comes to making money online. So I usually get access to the 'inside-scoop' before anyone else. And that's something I can pass-on to you guys who are part of our MLM Gold Mine family. Another one of my strengths is coaching and mentoring. I'm very good at working with people and pointing out things that they might not have seen in themselves. Just like Phil Jackson used to coach Michael Jordan in basketball... even sometimes the best-of-thebest players in any industry still get caught up in their own world and may overlook such obvious things which could make a positive impact on their results. And that's why Michael Jordan (perhaps one of the greatest basketball players of all time)... even he still had a coach to point out at times things the Jordan could not see for himself. Let me be your coach. Let me be your mentor. Let me point out things to you that you may not be able to see on your own. Let me be there for you not only as support to assist you with your business... but also support to assist you in your life as well. Those are my 2 main strengths... and that's what I bring to the table. So tell me what your strengths are? Are you good at making websites? Are you good at talking to people? Are you just a good student? Do you have experience mentoring, coaching, and training other people? Maybe your area of strength is that you're a fast learner. Or perhaps whenever someone tells you to do something you always are able to get things done with speed and velocity. Just tell me more about what you consider to be your strengths and what you can bring to the table. That way if we have someone who has a super-hard time with HTML for websites... but you know how to do HTML like the back of your hand... perhaps we can pair you guys up so you can work together and exchange services. Remember... it's all about family here... wherever one person is weak in the family... I'm sure we could find someone else on the team who has that strength. And that way, we could put you 2 in contact so you two can possibly talk further about bartering services, or helping each other out for a fee, or however you wish to work it out. So you see... This is just an example of how I would introduce myself, and what I would say when I answer the 3 questions above. I encourage you to do the same thing as well. And remember... the 3rd question is *HUGE* because this will allow the rest of the family to see what you are good at... and then if you get accepted as a 'Member' of our system... then we can better 'team-you-up' with a *RUNNING BUDDY* based on your strengths and weaknesses... and that way you can help each other out, bounce ideas back and forth... and work with each other to help one another move your businesses forward.I understand that one of the biggest benefits I'm going to get from your MLM Gold Mine Leadership Training & Development System is something called "OHANA". Where 'Ohana' means family... and that means "Nobody Gets Left Behind!"my space marketing music video marketing mlm scams quickstar mlm mlm leads recipes gold mine mortgage mlm mlm scam usana mlm mlm Lisa and Marissa are transgender men - born in male bodies, yet possessing a female identity. They don't want to hide their true selves anymore. But finding acceptance can be heartrendingly difficult. On its next edition, VisionTV's Gemini Award-nominated current affairs series 360 Vision examines the struggles that transgender individuals experience in their daily lives, and visits a church in Ontario that has opened its doors - and its heart - to this community. The program airs on Wednesday, May 23 at 10 p.m. ET, and repeats on Monday, May 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET. Lisa, now 54, spent most of her life struggling with her sense of self: born a boy named Larry, but feeling like a girl. Larry was married for 10 years and had a son, but never shed the feeling that he should have been a woman. "I was actually very angry at God," Lisa tells 360 Vision's Janet Aronoff. "Why did you do this to me? Why me?" Marissa was Paul, a police officer in England. Paul guarded his secret from fellow officers, from his wife of more than 20 years, and from his three children. When the truth finally came out, it cost him his marriage and his family. The price of coming out as transgender can be almost unbearably high: rejection and ridicule, the loss of families, friends and jobs, and severe depression. Help is not always easy to find. Some churches, however, have sought to reach out. Centenary United Church (www.centenaryunited.com) in Hamilton, Ont., for one, provides a place where members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community can pray together and be their true selves. "God's love is without condition," says Rev. Wayne Irwin of Centenary United. "It's not dependent on behaviour, it's not dependent on how good we are. God's love is dependent on how good God is." 360 Vision is the only weekly Canadian television program that probes the intersection of spirituality and daily events. Its mandate is to give viewers a compass to help them to navigate the diverse and complex world of belief. For more news and information on 360 Vision, please visit www.visiontv.ca. For the oleo-resin, see Animé (oleo-resin). Anime (アニメ, Anime? IPA pronunciation: /ɑnime/ listen (help·info) in Japanese, but typically /ˈænɪˌme(ɪ)/ or /ˈænɪmə/ in English) (pl. anime) is an abbreviation of the word "animation". Outside Japan, the term most popularly refers to animation originating in Japan. To the West, not all animation is considered anime; and anime is considered a subset of animation. While some anime is hand drawn, computer assisted animation techniques have become quite common in recent years. Like any entertainment medium, the story lines represent most major genres of fiction. Anime is broadcast on television, distributed on media such as DVD and VHS, and included in video games. Additionally, some are produced as full length motion pictures. Anime often draws influence from manga, light novels, and other cultures. Some anime storylines have been adapted into live action films and television series. History Main article: History of anime The history of anime begins at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques that were being explored in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia.[citation needed] Animation became notable in Japan as it provided an alternative format of storytelling compared to the underdeveloped live-action industry in Japan. Unlike America, where live-action shows and films have generous budgets, the live-action industry in Japan is a small market and suffered from budgeting, location, and casting restrictions. The lack of Western-looking actors, for example, made it next to impossible to shoot films set in Europe, America, or fantasy worlds that do not naturally involve Japan. The varied use of animation allowed artists to create any characters and settings.[1] During the 1970s, there was a surge of growth in the popularity of manga— which were often later animated — especially those of Osamu Tezuka, who has been called a "legend"[2] and the "god of manga".[3][4] As a result of his work and that of other pioneers in the field, anime developed characteristics and genres that are fundamental elements of the art today. The giant robot genre (known as "mecha" outside Japan), for instance, took shape under Tezuka, developed under Go Nagai and others, and was revolutionized at the end of the decade by Yoshiyuki Tomino. Robot anime like Gundam and Macross became instant classics in the 80s, and the robot genre of anime is still one of the most heard of in Japan and worldwide today. In the 1980s, anime was accepted in the mainstream in Japan, and experienced a boom in production (It should be noticed that, manga has significantly more mainstream exposure than anime in Japan). The mid-to-late '90s, on into the 2000s, saw an increased acceptance of anime in overseas markets. Terminology Etymology and pronunciation Note: This page or section contains IPA phonetic symbols in Unicode. See IPA chart for English for a pronunciation key. The Japanese term for animation is アニメーション (animēshon, pronounced /ɑnime:ɕoɴ/), written in katakana. It is borrowed from the French word for animation, "l'animé" (it's lacking the article--both are pronounced similarly). Both the words "animation" and "l'animé" come from the Latin word "anima" which means to move. [5] The Japanese term is spelled アニメ (anime, pronounced /ɑnime/). Both the original and abbreviated forms are valid and interchangeable in Japanese, but as could be expected the shorter form is more commonly used. The pronunciation of anime in English differs significantly from Japanese. The first vowel is further forward in English than Japanese: /æ/ is more likely than /ɑ/. As English stresses words differently than Japanese, the second vowel is likely to emerge as an unstressed schwa /ə/ or /I/ in English, whereas in Japanese each mora carries equal stress. As with a few other Japanese words such as Pokémon and Kobo Abé, anime is sometimes spelled as animé in English with an acute accent over the final e to cue the reader that the letter is pronounced as a Japanese /e/. However, this accent does not appear in any commonly used system of romanized Japanese, and English native speakers may produce /eI/. Definition An example of an anime drawing styleLinguistically, the anime definition is subject to interpretation. In Japan, the term does not specify an animation's nation of origin or style; instead, it is used as a blanket term to refer to all forms of animation from around the world.[6] In English, main dictionary sources define anime as "a Japanese style of motion-picture animation" or "a style of animation developed in Japan".[7] Thus, non-Japanese works are sometimes called anime-influenced animation if they borrow stylistically from Japanese animation. In western countries the word is used usually only to refer to animated programming of Japanese origin, with the term "cartoon" or "animated series" used for most other visual styles. The online anime database AniDB generally defines anime (in the singular form) as "an animated, professionally produced, feature film created by a Japanese company for the Japanese market".[6] However, some anime are co-productions with non-Japanese companies like the Cartoon Network. Thus, anime is no longer specific to the Japanese market. Syntax and morphology Anime can be used as a common noun, "Do you watch anime?" or as a suppletive adjective, "The anime Guyver is different from the movie Guyver." It may also be used as a mass noun, as in "How much anime have you collected?" and therefore is never pluralized "animes" (nouns are never pluralized in Japanese). However, in other languages where anime has been adopted as a loan word, it is sometimes used as a count noun in singular and in plural as in Danish "Jeg tror, jeg vil se en anime" ("I think I'll watch an anime") and "Hvor mange anime'er har du nu?" ("How many animes do you have now?"). Synonyms Anime is sometimes referred to as Japanimation, but this term has fallen into disuse. Japanimation saw the most usage during the 1970s and 1980s, which broadly comprise the first and second waves of anime fandom, and had continued use up until before the mid-1990s anime resurgence. In general, the term now only appears in nostalgic contexts. The term is much more commonly used within Japan to refer to domestic animation. Since anime or animēshon is used to describe all forms of animation, Japanimation is used to distinguish Japanese work from that of the rest of the world. In more recent years, anime has also frequently been referred to as manga in European countries, a practice that may stem from the Japanese usage: In Japan, manga can refer to both animation and comics (although the use of manga to refer to animation is mostly restricted to non-fans). Among English speakers, manga usually has the stricter meaning of "Japanese comics". An alternate explanation is that it is due to the prominence of Manga Entertainment, a distributor of anime to the US and UK markets. Because Manga Entertainment originated in the UK the use of the term is common outside of Japan. The portmanteau "animanga" has been used to collectively refer to anime and manga, though it is also a term used to describe comics produced from animation cels. Characteristics Dragon Ball Z (1989) is a popular shōnen anime based on the original manga series which spanned 291 episodes and 13 movies.Anime features a wide variety of artistic styles. They vary from artist to artist or by studio to studio. They are generally characterized by detailed backgrounds and stylized characters in a variety of different settings and storylines, aimed at a wide range of audiences. It is usually coloured and designed to look as realistic as possible. Unlike Manga, which uses slightly exaggerated colours and designs. But, anime fantasy creatures, (e.g witches, spirits etc.) can have exaggerated facial and physical features. But, they will always be designed to look as realistic as possible, and bright colours would be rarely used unless needed to. Genres Anime has many genres typically found in any mass media form. Such genres include action, adventure, children's stories, comedy, drama, erotica (hentai), medieval fantasy, occult/horror, romance, and science fiction. Most anime includes content from several different genres, as well as a variety of thematic elements. Thus, some series may be categorized under multiple genres. For example, Neon Genesis Evangelion might be considered to fall into the genres of post-apocalyptic, mecha, drama, and shonen-ai. A show may have a seemingly simple surface plot, but at the same time may feature a far more complex, deeper storyline and character development. It is not uncommon for an action themed anime to also involve humor, romance, and even social commentary. The same can be applied to a romance themed anime in that it may involve an action element, or in some cases brutal violence. The following is a list of the major genres and designations that are specific to anime and manga.[8] For other possible genres, see film genre. Genres with Western Counterparts: Action/Adventure: Anime that primarily focuses on martial arts, sword fighting, or other action oriented material. Examples: Ninja Scroll. It is more often than not a Shonen Anime and may be considered a sub-genre. Examples: Ranma ½ or Love Hina. Reverse Harem: As a Harem anime, but where several boy characters are attracted to a single girl character (or sometimes to multiple girl characters). It is more often than not a Shojo Anime and may be considered a sub-genre. Examples: Ouran Host Club or Fruits Basket. Ecchi: Japanese for 'indecent sexuality', derived from the pronunciation of the letter 'H', (the origin of the term is not well known, even in Japan. See main article for more information.) Contains sexual humor, and some fan service. Examples: Love Hina, Oruchuban Ebichu or He Is My Master. Hentai: Japanese for 'abnormal' or 'perverted'. While Western audiences may use the term to refer to pornographic anime or erotica, in Japan the term used to refer to the same material is typically Poruno or Ero. Examples: La Blue Girl or "Bible Black". Shōjo-ai/Yuri: Japanese for 'girl-love'. Refers to anime or manga that focus on love and romance between female characters. It is often being replaced by the term "Girls Love" (GL). Yuri is like Shōjo-ai, but sometimes involves older characters or explicit sexual activity. Examples: Revolutionary Girl Utena or Kannazuki no Miko. Shōnen-ai: Japanese for 'boy-love'. Refers to anime or manga that focus on love and romance between male characters. The term "Shōnen-ai" is being phased out in Japan due to its other meaning of pederasty, and is being replaced by the term "Boys Love" (BL). Examples: Loveless, Gravitation Yaoi: Like "Shōnen-ai" but often involving older characters and explicit sexual activity. Examples: "Sensitive Pornograph" Some anime titles are written for a very specific audience, even narrower than those described above. For example, Initial D, Wangan Midnight and éX-Driver concern street racing and car tuning. Ashita No Joe, Hajime no Ippo were about boxing. Hanaukyo Maid Team is based on the French maid fantasy. Style While different titles and different artists have their own artistic styles, many stylistic elements have become so common such that they are described as being definitive of anime in general. These elements have been given names of their own. The anime drawing style can be learned, particularly with the aid of books such as How to Draw Manga. Such books come complete with information and instructions on the styles used in anime. A common approach is the large eyes style drawn on many anime and manga characters, credited to the influence of Osamu Tezuka, who was inspired by the exaggerated features of American cartoon characters such as Betty Boop and Mickey Mouse and from Disney's Bambi. Tezuka found that large eyes style allowed his characters to show emotions distinctly. Cultural anthropologist Matt Thorn argues that Japanese animators and audiences do not perceive such stylized eyes as inherently more or less foreign.[1] When Tezuka began drawing Ribbon no Kishi, the first manga specifically targeted at young girls, Tezuka further exaggerated the size of the characters' eyes. Indeed, through Ribbon no Kishi, Tezuka set a stylistic template that later shōjo artists tended to follow. Another variation of this style is "super deformed"; which usually feature huge eyes, an enlarged head, and small body. Other stylistic elements are common as well; often in comedic anime, characters that are shocked or surprised will perform a "face fault", in which they display an extremely exaggerated expression. Angry characters may exhibit a "vein" or "stressmark" effect, where lines representing bulging veins will appear on their forehead. Angry women will sometimes summon a mallet from nowhere and strike someone with it, leading to the concept of Hammerspace and cartoon physics. Male characters will develop a bloody nose around their female love interests (typically to indicate arousal, based on an old wives' tale).[9] Embarrassed characters will invariably produce a massive sweat-drop, which has become one of the most widely recognized stereotype motifs of anime. The degree of stylization varies from title to title. Some titles make extensive use of common stylization: FLCL, for example, is known for its wild, exaggerated stylization. In contrast, titles such as Only Yesterday, a film by Isao Takahata, take a much more realistic approach, and feature few stylistic exaggerations. Distribution Licensing Main article: Anime licensing Anime is available outside of Japan in localized form. Licensed anime is modified by distributors through dubbing into the language of the country. The anime may also be edited to alter cultural references that may not be understood by a non-Japanese person and certain companies may remove what may be perceived as objectionable content. This process was far more common in the past (e.g. One Piece), when anime was largely unheard of in the west, but its use has declined in recent years because of the demand for anime in its original form. This "light touch" approach to localization has proved popular with fans as well as viewers formerly unfamiliar with anime. The popularity of such methods is evident by the success of Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block, both of which employ minor edits. The "light touch" approach also applies to DVD releases as they often include both the dubbed audio and the original Japanese audio with subtitles, are typically unedited. Anime edited for television is usually released on DVD "uncut," with all scenes intact. Anime has also been a commercial success in Asia, Europe and Latin America, where anime has become even more mainstream than in the United States. For example, the Saint Seiya video game was released in Europe due to the popularity of the show even years after the series has been off-air. Fansubs Main article: Fansub Although it is a violation of copyright laws in many countries, some fans watch fansubs, recordings of anime series that have been subtitled by fans. Watching subtitled Japanese versions, though not necessarily downloaded fansubs, is seen by many enthusiasts as the preferred method of watching anime. The ethical implications of producing, distributing, or watching fansubs are topics of much controversy even when fansub groups do not profit from their activities and cease distribution of their work once the series has been licensed outside of Japan. Television TV networks regularly broadcast anime programming. Cable channels such as Cartoon Network, Disney, Sci-Fi, and others dedicate some of their time slots for anime. Then the Anime Network specifically shows anime. In Japan, major national TV networks broadcast anime regularly. Anime beyond Japan Early anime in the United States The United States saw its first exposure to anime in June of 1961, when Shônen Sarutobi Sasuke (Magic Boy) was released by MGM, followed a few weeks later by Hakuja den (Panda and the Magic Serpent, or The Tale of the White Serpent). Anime then got its running jump in September of 1963, when NBC syndicated a dubbed version of the Japanese series Astro Boy. Not counting such Japanese/American co-productions as The King Kong Show and Johnny Cypher in Dimension Zero[1], only seven more anime TV series were released in the United States in the 1960s. These were 8 Man (1965), Gigantor (1966), Kimba the White Lion (1966), Prince Planet (1966), Marine Boy (1966), The Amazing 3 (1967) and Speed Racer (1967). Speed Racer would be the last anime series released in the United States until 1978 when the 1972 series Kagaku ninja tai Gatchaman was adapted for American audiences as Battle of the Planets.[10] Many anime series that made it to American television from the 1960s through the 1980s tended to be science fiction or action-oriented, such as Star Blazers (the English dub of Space Battleship Yamato) and Robotech and Voltron (both Americanized amalgamations of unrelated anime series cobbled together into a single story). As the 1980s wore on, more anime series and films targeted at very young children also found their way to U.S. TV screens, often on cable television channels or in syndication. Nickelodeon broadcast many mostly Canadian-made English dubs of anime films during its early years, including TV series such as Mysterious Cities of Gold, Adventures of the Little Koala, Belle and Sebastian, The Adventures of the Little Prince, Noozles, Maya the Bee, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, and The Littl' Bits, many of which were aired on "Nick Jr.", the network's block of programming for very young viewers. The Disney Channel broadcast both of the feature-length anime films starring Osamu Tezuka's famous unicorn character Unico, and CBN redubbed and broadcast its Bible-based anime TV series co-produced with Tatsunoko, Superbook and The Flying House. HBO also showed juvenile-targeted anime on occasion, including TV series such as Tales of Little Women, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Saban's Adventures of Pinocchio and feature films such as Gisaburo Sugii's 1974 Jack and the Beanstalk. A great many anime films and feature-length TV series compilations were also released direct-to-video in the U.S., and were often available for rental at mainstream video stores. Some titles which were distributed in the U.S. in this fashion included Candy Candy, Captain Future, Angel, Serendipity the Pink Dragon, Taro the Dragon Boy, Robby the Rascal (Cybot Robotchi), and Ninja the Wonder Boy (Manga Sarutobi Sasuke). For the most part, though, these TV series and films were not actively promoted as being of Japanese origin; in fact, many of them went so far as to remove most or all Japanese names from the credits except for credits to the animation studios. In the series themselves, character names were often changed and Japanese cultural references removed to make them more accessible to English-speaking audiences, such as Genshi being changed to Flint in Space-Time Detective Genshi-kun. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, this trend began to change as more openly Japanese works, such as Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing, Pokémon, Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh! achieved mainstream popularity on American television. Although many of these shows did undergo some kind of "Americanization" in the form of character name changes and edits for violence, language, and the occasional nudity, viewers were more aware of the shows' country of origin, which might perhaps pique their curiosity to seek out other works in a similar style. Current reception in the United States AnimeNation's John Oppliger had this to say on the matter: The support for anime among American anime fans is very strong. The availability of anime in America is truly impressive, especially within the anime fan community. Awareness of Japanese animation in America is at an all time high. However, mainstream acceptance of anime in America lags far behind the advances anime has made in other respects. A close examination of the support for anime on American television may provide a revealing and realistic gauge of the actual penetration of anime into America and American culture. Anime may seem like it's tremendously successful in America because its high profile, but the facts tell another story. According to AC Nielsen, Pixar's The Incredibles sold 16 million copies on DVD in America last year. Shark Tale sold nearly 10 million copies. Even the DVD release of Bambi sold 6 million copies in 2005. In comparison, all four Inuyasha movies combined have sold just over 1 million copies in the past year and a half. Evidently, the success of anime in America is very relative. American anime fans are very devoted. Through underground means hardcore American fans now have access to brand new Japanese anime before even many Japanese residents do. America's anime fan community is influential because it's affluent, intelligent, and motivated; but it's not very large.[11] Despite assessments like that, and its rare and limited release in American theaters, anime's legitimacy and respect in North America has grown well enough to garner major native artistic awards such as the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2002 for Spirited Away by Hayao Miyazaki. Anime has a dedicated fan following in English speaking countries, particularly active on the internet, and at conventions regularly held throughout the US and UK. Commercial appeal Anime has become commercially profitable in western countries as early commercially successful western adaptations of anime, such as Astro Boy, have revealed.[12] The phenomenal success of Nintendo's multi-billion dollar Pokémon franchise[13] was helped greatly by the spin-off anime series that, first broadcast in the late 1990s, is still running worldwide to this day. Influence on Western culture Western Animation Main article: Anime-influenced animation Anime-influenced animation refers to non-Japanese works of animation that emulate the visual style of anime. Though most of these works are created by and primarily shown in the United States, many also involve production studios from Europe and non-Japanese Asia. These generally adapted anime stylizations and anime methods described in anime physics into their own. Such examples exist in Totally Spies!, The Boondocks, W.I.T.C.H. and Megas XLR. In addition, works such as Avatar: The Last Airbender features Asian themes. While these examples are not considered anime by the fanbase majority, they are best noted for being "influenced by anime". Conventions Main article: Anime convention Fan-based conventions have long existed. Conventions for anime began to appear in the early 1990's, starting with Anime Expo, Animethon, Otakon, and JACON. Eventually, anime conventions are held annually in various cities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anime (Less)

He is (More) Tim McGraw (born May 1, 1967) is an American country music singer who has achieved many number one hits on the country singles and album charts, with total sales in excess of 40 million units. He is married to country singer Faith Hill and is the son of baseball player Tug McGraw. His trademark hit songs include "Indian Outlaw", "Don't Take the Girl", "I Like It, I Love It", "Something Like That", "It's Your Love" (featuring his wife, Faith Hill), and "Live Like You Were Dying". As of his 2006, McGraw has had nine consecutive albums debut at Number One on the Billboard with twenty-six of his singles reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country 100 chart, with three of them being named the #1 country song of the year ("It's Your Love", "Just To See You Smile", and "Live Like You Were Dying"). He has won 3 Grammys, 11 Academy of Country Music awards, 10 Country Music Association (CMA) awards, 9 American Music Awards and 3 People's Choice Awards. His Soul2Soul II tour with Faith Hill in 2006 became the highest-grossing tour in country music history, and ranked as one of the top five in all genres of music.[1] McGraw has ventured into acting, with a supporting role in the Billy Bob Thornton film Friday Night Lights and a lead role in 2006's Flicka. He is also a minority owner of the Arena Football League's Nashville Kats. Early life McGraw was born Samuel Timothy McGraw in Delhi, LA, a town in Richland Parish, the son of waitress Elizabeth D'Agostino Trimble and Tug McGraw, a relief pitcher for the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. McGraw is of Italian-Irish descent on his mother's side and Scots-Irish descent on his father's side.[2] Raised by his mother, in Start, LA east of Monroe, LA, McGraw grew up believing his stepfather, Horace Smith, was his birth father. While searching his mother's closet when he was eleven to find pictures for a school project McGraw discovered his birth certificate. After his discovery his mother revealed that his birth father was Tug McGraw, and brought him to meet his father for the first time.[2] Tug denied being Tim's father until Tim was 18 years old, when Tug first noticed how similar Tim looked to him when he was that young, and the two remained close until Tug's death in 2004. As a child, McGraw loved to play competitive sports, including baseball, even though he did not know Tug McGraw was his father.[2] He studied sports medicine at Northeast Louisiana University on a baseball scholarship, and roomed with former NFL quarterback Doug Pederson[3] where he became a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.[4] During this period, he learned to play guitar and would frequently perform and sing for tips, although he claims that his roommates often hid the guitar because he was so bad. In 1989, on the day his hero Keith Whitley died,[3] McGraw dropped out of college to head to Nashville and pursue a musical career.[2] [edit] 1990s [edit] 1990-1992 McGraw came to the attention of Curb Records in 1990 through chance circumstances and his father's connections. After cutting a demo single, McGraw gave a copy to Tug McGraw. A man who was friends with Curb Records executives heard the demo while driving with Tug McGraw one day and recommended that Curb contact the young singer. Several weeks after he was able to play his tape for Curb executives, they signed him to a recording contract.[2] Two years later, in 1992, he had his first minor hit "Welcome to the Club" off his self-titled debut album. Although the album failed to make much of a dent on the charts, McGraw did have two other minor hits from it in 1993, "Memory Lane" and "Two Steppin Mind."[3] [edit] 1994-1995 His second album, Not a Moment Too Soon, was much more successful, becoming best selling country album in 1994. The first single, "Indian Outlaw", caused considerable controversy as critics argued that it presented Native Americans in a patronizing way.[3] Some radio stations refused to play it,[5] but the controversy helped spur sales and the song became McGraw's first top ten country single (getting as high as #8) and reaching #15 on the pop chart.[6] The second single from the album, "Don't Take the Girl", became McGraw's first #1 country hit and "helped cement his image as a ruggedly good-looking guy with a sensitive side."[5] The following year, the album's title track became a #1 country single, while "Down on the Farm" reached number two and "Refried Dreams" reached the top 5. The album sold over 5 million copies, topping the Billboard 200 as well as the country album charts.[3] On the strength of this success, McGraw won Academy of Country Music awards for Album of the Year and Top New Male Vocalist in 1994.[7] All I Want, released in 1995, continued his run of success, debuting at number one on the country charts. The album sold over two million copies and reached the top 5 on the Billboard 200. "I Like It, I Love It" reached number one on the country charts as the leadoff single, while "She Never Lets It Go to Her Heart" also went to number one in 1996. "Can't Really Be Gone", "All I Want is a Life", and "Maybe We Should Just Sleep On It" were all top 5 hits.[3] [edit] 1996 (marriage) In 1996, McGraw headlined the most successful country tour of the year, with Faith Hill as his supporting act. The tour's name, The Spontaneous Combustion Tour, turned out to be prophetic as the singers married in October 1996[citation needed] The couple have since had three daughters, Gracie Katherine (born 1997), Maggie Elizabeth (born 1998) and Audrey Caroline (born 2001).[8] [edit] 1997-1999 McGraw's next album, 1997's Everywhere, again topped the country charts and reached number two on the album charts, selling 4 million copies.[3] The first single, "Its Your Love", a duet with Faith Hill, became the first single in twenty years to spend six weeks on top of Billboard's country singles chart (the previous such song had been Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson's "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)" in 1977).[citation needed] The single reached #7 on the pop chart (and gained platinum status); and became the most played single in the history of the Billboard country charts.[citation needed] Five more singles "Everywhere", "Where the Green Grass Grows", "One of These Days", "For a Little While", and "Just to See You Smile" reached the top of the country charts from the album, with the last of these setting a new record by spending 42 weeks on the Billboard charts.[9] The Country Music Association awarded Everywhere its Album of the Year award for 1997. A Place in the Sun in 1999 continued McGraw's streak, debuting atop both the US pop and country album charts[7] and selling three million albums. It featured another four chart topping singles on the country charts including "Please Remember Me", "Something Like That", "My Best Friend", and "My Next Thirty Years"; "Some Things Never Change" reached #7 on the country chart.[3] He also contributed a song for the Grammy-winning tribute album to Bob Willis, Ride With Bob. His song, a cover of "Milk Cow Blues", was recorded as a duet with Asleep at the Wheel, whom he had met while performing together at the George Strait Country Music Festival.[7] McGraw recorded two more duets with his wife in the late 1990s, both of which appeared on her albums. "Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me" off her multi-platinum 1998 album Faith, reached the top five of the US country charts,[3] while her follow-up and 1999 album Breathe featured "Let's Make Love", which would win a Grammy Award in 2000 for Best Country Vocal Collaboration.[7] [edit] 2000s [edit] 2000-2001 In 2000, McGraw released his Greatest Hits album which topped the charts for nine weeks and sold almost 6 million copies, making it one of the biggest selling albums in the modern country market. In the latter half of the year, he and Hill went out on the Soul2Soul Tour, playing to sellout crowds in 64 venues including Madison Square Garden. It was one of the top tours of any genre in the US and the leading country tour during 2000.[9] While in New York, McGraw and Kenny Chesney became involved in a scuffle with police officers after Chesney, who had permission from the sheriff's daughter, attemped to ride a police horse. McGraw came to Chesney's aid after police officers nearby believed the horse was being stolen and tried to arrest him. The two were arrested and charged with assault, but were later cleared. During a concert with the George Strait Country Music Festival several weeks later, Hill, dressed as a police officer, made an unscheduled appearance at the end of McGraw's set and led him off the stage.[10] McGraw's next album, Set This Circus Down, was released in April 2001 and spawned four number one country hits - "Grown Men Don't Cry", "Angry All the Time", "The Cowboy in Me", and "Unbroken". He also provided harmony vocals for the Jo Dee Messina song "Bring on the Rain", which he also produced. The song topped the country charts.[7] Hungry for more of his music, fans downloaded a version of his performance of the song "Things Change" from his appearance at the Country Music Association Awards Show. The song was played extensively on radio, becoming the first country song to appear on the charts from a fully downloaded version.[9] [edit] 2002-2003 In 2002, Tim McGraw bucked country music traditions by recording his album Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors with his tour band The Dancehall Doctors. Unlike rock music, where it is commonplace for touring bands to provide the music on albums recorded by the artist they support, country albums are typically recorded with session musicians.[11] McGraw chose to use his own touring band in order to recognize their part in his success and to capture some of the feel of a real band.[9] All of the Dancehall Doctors have worked with McGraw since at least 1996. They include: Darran Smith - Lead Guitar, Acoustic guitar Bob Minner - Rhythm Guitar, Acoustic guitar, Banjo, Mandolin Denny Hemingson - Steel Guitar, Electric, Baritone, and Slide Guitars, Dobro John Marcus - Bass guitar Dean Brown - Fiddle, Mandolin Jeff McMahon - Piano, Organ, Synthesizer, Keyboards Billy Mason - Drums David Dunkley - Percussion.[9] The album debuted at number 2 on the country albums charts,[2] with the single "Real Good Man" reaching number one on the Hot Country Songs chart. "She's My Kind of Rain" reached number 2 in 2003 and "Red Rag Top" reached the top 5. The album also featured a cover version of Elton John's early 1970s classic "Tiny Dancer", as well as appearances by Kim Carnes on "Comfort Me" - a response to the September 11, 2001 attacks - and Don Henley and Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles on "Illegal". [edit] 2004-2005 2004's Live Like You Were Dying continued McGraw's record of commercial success. The title track, dedicated to his father Tug McGraw who died of brain cancer earlier in the year, was a soaring ode to living life fully and in the moment,[12] while the second single "Back When" was a paean to an easy nostalgia. 'Live Like You Were Dying' spent seven non-consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard (10 weeks on Radio & Records) and went on to become the biggest hit single of the year. It also became one the most awarded songs/records by winning ACM Single and Song of the Year, CMA Single and Song of the Year and a Grammy. In late 2004, his unlikely duet with hip-hop artist Nelly on " Over and Over", a soft ballad of lost love, became a crossover hit[13] spending 10 weeks atop the Top 40 chart. This made Tim the first modern country artist to have two 10 week number one hits in a single year.[citation needed] "Over and Over" brought McGraw a success he had never previously experienced on contemporary hit radio, rap radio, and brought both artists success neither had previously experienced in the hot adult contemporary market. The song also spent a week at the top of the UK single charts, and was McGraw's first visit to the UK hit countdown. Unlike fellow country artists Garth Brooks and Shania Twain, each of whom have had significant crossover success, McGraw is still well-liked by the country music industry.[11] Throughout the 2005 NFL season McGraw sang an alternate version of "I Like It, I Love It" every week during the season. The alternate lyrics, which changed each week, would make reference to plays during Sunday's games and the song would be played alongside video highlights during halftime on Monday Night Football.[14] Later in the year McGraw became a minority owner of the Arena Football League's Nashville Kats when majority owner Bud Adams (owner of the NFL's Tennessee Titans) was awarded the expansion franchise.[15] It was dedicated to Tug McGraw.. 2006-present In April 2006 McGraw and Hill began their 73-concert 55 city Soul2Soul II Tour 2006, again to strong commercial acceptance. The tour grossed nearly $89 million and sold almost 1.1 million tickets, making it the top grossing tour in the history of country music.[16] It was named "Major Tour of the Year" by the prestigious Pollstar Magazine, beating out such heavyweights as Madonna and the Rolling Stones. In a special gesture, the couple donated all of the profits from their performance in New Orleans to Hurricane Katrina relief.[17] Tim, along with Kenny Chesney, contributed to a version of Tracy Lawrence's song "Find Out Who Your Friends Are", which can be found on Lawrence's album For the Love. Although the official single version features only Lawrence's vocals, many stations have opted to play the version with McGraw and Chesney instead. McGraw released his eleventh album, Let It Go, on March 27, 2007. The album's debut single, "Last Dollar (Fly Away)", reached No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart, marking Tim's first No. 1 single since "Back When" in late 2004. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart and #1 on the Billboard Country Album chart, marking his 4th #1 top 200 album and 9th #1 country album (Source: Billboard Magazine). During the Academy of Country Music awards show on May 21, 2007, McGraw performed a song titled "If You're Reading This", which he co-wrote with the Warren Brothers.[18] Several radio stations began to play the live recording of the song; as a result, it entered the Hot Country Songs chart at #35.[19] McGraw also produced the debut album of country music duo Halfway to Hazard. The duo's first single, "Daisy", peaked at #39 on the country charts in Summer of 2007. Acting McGraw's first acting appearance came in a 1995 episode of The Jeff Foxworthy Show, where he played Foxworthy's rival. In 2004 McGraw played a sheriff in Rick Schroder's independent release Black Cloud. Later in the same year, McGraw received good notices as the overbearing father of a running back in the major studio Texas high school football drama Friday Night Lights. The Dallas Observer said the role was "played with unexpected ferocity by country singer Tim McGraw."[20] The movie went on to gross over $60 million dollars worldwide at the box office[21] and sold millions in the DVD market. Most recently it was named one of the top 50 high school movies of all time (number 37) by Entertainment Weekly. McGraw's first lead role was in the 2006 film Flicka, which was released in theatres October 20, 2006. In the remake of the classic book "My Friend Flicka", McGraw played the father, Rob, costarring with Alison Lohman and Maria Bello. The family-friendly movie debuted in the top 10 list and has grossed over 25 Million dollars at the box office.[22] McGraw again achieved critical acclaim for his acting.[23][24] Shortly before Flicka opened McGraw received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star is located at 6901 Hollywood Blvd. near stars in the sidewalk honoring Julie Andrews, William Shatner and the late Greta Garbo. One of his Flicka co-stars, Alison Lohman, attended the ceremony that included comments from Billy Bob Thornton, McGraw's co-star in the film, Friday Night Lights.[25] In addition to acting in Flicka, McGraw served as executive producer of the soundtrack album, which was released by his record label, StyleSonic Records, in association with Curb Records and Fox 2000 films. It featured the closing credit song "My Little Girl", one of the first two songs that McGraw recorded that he also co-wrote (the other being "I've Got Friends That Do," both of which were included on Greatest Hits Vol. 2).[26] The song was nominated by the Broadcast Film Critics for "Best Song" in a film, and the movie was nominated in the category "Best Family Film (Live Action). The movie proved to be another huge success in the DVD market and has sold over a million copies, debuting at number 3 on the DVD sales chart.[22] Charitable efforts As his success has grown, McGraw has become increasingly interested in giving back to the community. When McGraw first reached fame in 1994 he established his annual Swampstock event. Begun as a charity softball game to raise money for hometown little league programs, the event now includes a celebrity softball game and a multi-artist concert that attracts over 11,000 fans per year. The combined events have funded new little league parks and equipment and established college scholarship funds for students in the Northeast Louisiana area.[27] From 1996-1999 McGraw also hosted an annual New Year's Eve concert in Nashville with special guests including Jeff Foxworthy, the Dixie Chicks, and Martina McBride. The 1997 show raised over $100,000 for the Country Music Foundation Hall of Fame and Museum. Beginning in 1999, McGraw would pick select cities on each tour, and, the night before he was scheduled to perform, would choose a local club and host a quickly-organized show. This tour within a tour became known as "The Bread and Water Tour", and all proceeds from the show would go to a charity from that community.[27] In the days immediately following Hurricane Katrina, McGraw and his wife, who was raised in Mississippi, joined groups taking supplies to Gulfport, Mississippi. The two also hosted several charity concerts to benefit those who were displaced by the storm.[28] Later in the year the couple established the Neighbor's Keeper Foundation, which provides funding for community charities to assist with basic humanitarian services in the event of a natural disaster or for desperate personal circumstances. McGraw is also a member of the American Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, in which various celebrities donate their time, skills, and fame to help the Red Cross highlight important initiatives and response efforts.[29] McGraw, a Democrat, has stated that he would one day like to run for public office in the future, possibly for Senate or governor of his home state of Tennessee. In the same interview, he praised former President Bill Clinton.[30] On July 12th, 2007, it was made public that McGraw and his wife Faith Hill, while in Grand Rapids, MI for a performance, donated $5,000.00 to Kailey Kozminski, 3 year-old daughter of Officer Robert Kozminski, a Grand Rapids police officer who was killed on July 8th, 2007 while responding to a domestic disturbance.[citation needed] (Less)

Hill's "soulful and rasping voice"[1] and talent for picking songs[2] have helped her to sell over 30 million records and accumulate 11 number one singles on the Country charts. Hill has been honored by the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music, the Grammy Awards, the American Music Awards and the People's Choice Awards. Her Soul2Soul II Tour 2006 with husband McGraw became the highest-grossing country tour of all time.[3] In 2001 she was named one of the 30 most powerful women in America by Ladies Home Journal. Biography [edit] Early life Hill was born Audrey Faith Perry in Ridgeland, Mississippi near Jackson, Mississippi. She was adopted as an infant, and raised by a couple in the nearby town of Star. Her adoptive parents raised their two (biological) sons and Hill in a very Christian environment.[2] Hill's vocal talent was apparent early, and she had her first public performance, a 4-H luncheon, when she was seven.[4] By the time she was a teenager, Hill was a regular performer at area churches, even those not in her own Baptist denomination.[5] At seventeen, Hill formed a band that played in local rodeos. She briefly attended college, but at 19 quit school to move to Nashville and pursue her dream of being a country singer. In her early days in Nashville, Hill auditioned to be a backup singer for Reba McEntire, but failed to secure the job.[2] After a stint selling t-shirts, Hill became a secretary at a music publishing firm.[4] Apart from her quest for entry into the music industry, Hill also began working towards a more robust family life. In 1988 she married songwriter and music executive Dan Hill, who provided the surname she would use as she became famous. Two years later she began a search for her natural mother, whom she eventually met and with whom she still corresponds.[6] A co-worker heard Hill singing to herself one day, and soon the head of her music publishing company was encouraging her to become a demo singer for the firm.[4] She supplemented this work by singing backup vocals for songwriter Gary Burr, who often performed his new songs at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe. During one of those performances, an executive from Warner Bros. Records was in the audience, and, impressed with Hill's voice, began the process of signing her to a recording contract.[2] [edit] 1993 1997: Country success Hill's debut album was Take Me as I Am (1993); sales were strong, buoyed by the chart success of "Wild One". Hill became the first female country singer in 30 years to hold Billboard's #1 position for four consecutive weeks when "Wild One" managed the feat in 1994.[7] Her version of Erma Franklin's "Piece of My Heart", also went to the top of the country charts in 1994,[4] although rock fans drew unflattering comparisons to Janis Joplin's cover.[citation needed] The album sold a total of 3 million copies.[4] Shortly after the release of her album, Hill found her marriage falling apart. She and Dan Hill divorced in 1994.[6] The recording of Faith's second album was delayed by surgery to repair a ruptured blood vessel on her vocal cords. It Matters to Me finally appeared in 1995 and was another success, with the title track becoming her fourth #1 country single. Several other top 10 singles followed, and this album also sold over 3 million copies.[4] The fifth single from the album, "I Can't Do That Anymore," was written by country music artist Alan Jackson. In the spring of 1996 Hill began the Spontaneous Combustion Tour with country singer Tim McGraw. At that time Hill had recently become engaged to her former producer, Scott Hendricks, and McGraw had recently broken an engagement. McGraw and Hill were quickly attracted to each other and Hill broke her engagement so that she and McGraw could begin dating. The pair became engaged on the tour and married on October 6, 1996.[6] They have three daughters together: Gracie Katherine (b. 1997), Maggie Elizabeth (b. 1998) and Audrey Caroline (b. 2001). Since their marriage, Hill and McGraw have strived to never be apart for more than three consecutive days.[2] [edit] 1998 2004: Pop crossover After the release of It Matters to Me, Hill took a three-year break from recording to give herself a rest from four years of touring and to begin a family with McGraw. During her break, she joined forces with her husband for their first duet, "It's Your Love". [1] The song stayed at Number 1 for six weeks[4] and won awards from both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. Hill has remarked that sometimes when they perform the song together, " it [doesn't] feel like anybody else was really watching."[1] She reentered the music business with 1998's Faith.[1] The album moved her closer towards a mainstream, pop-oriented sound, although it retained some country sound. "This Kiss" became a #1 country hit, and was the first of her singles to place on the pop charts, peaking at #7. The album sold over six million copies and delivered more hits including another duet with McGraw, "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me", "Let Me Let Go" and "The Secret Of Life".[4] To follow up this new found success Hill immediately released Breathe, which debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Country and all genre charts, ahead of albums by Mariah Carey and Savage Garden.[8] Although the album had few overt country sounds, it "complement[ed] her vocal strengths."[9] For the first time, the album consisted solely of songs about love and did not venture into the more somber territory that her previous albums had touched.[9] The title track, "Breathe", reached Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[8] "The Way You Love Me" hit the top ten as well (#6), and became one of the longest running singles in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 (57 weeks).[citation needed] The album won Hill three Grammy Awards including Best Country Album, Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for Let's Make Love featuring Tim McGraw and Best Country Female Vocal Performance for Breathe.[10].[10] It also marked a step away from her girl-next-door image, as the videos and promotional pictures all portrayed a much sexier image. Breathe has sold almost 10 million copies worldwide.[11] Hill used her 1999 tour to support a national children's book drive. Fans who donated books at one of her concerts were entered into a drawing to meet her personally after the show.[12] The effort resulted in the donation of 35,000 children's books, which were distributed to hospitals, schools, libraries, and daycare centers in 40 cities across the United States.[13] 2000 was an especially busy year for Hill. Besides a successful tour with her husband, Hill was featured in a CBS television special, VH1's Behind the Music, VH1 Divas 2000, and the Lifetime cable channel's Intimate Portraits series.[8] She signed an endorsement deal with CoverGirl makeup.[4], performed at the Academy Awards and the Grammy Awards, appeared on the cover of numerous magazine, and performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl.[8] Hill was also named to Mr. Blackwell's 10-best dressed women of 2000, the only singer listed among actresses and other celebrities. Hill and McGraw also embarked on their first Soul2Soul tour the "Soul2Soul Tour 2000".[14] Musically, in 2000 Hill recorded a song for the movie Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas The song also appeared on the pop and country charts. Hill's success on the pop charts disturbed some country music insiders, who questioned whether she was trying to dismiss her country roots and move into the pop genre. Despite the grumbling, Hill won the CMA Female Vocalist of The Year Award, and in her acceptance speech announced, "I love this business and I love this industry...and my heart is here."[8] In 2001, Hill recorded a song for the Pearl Harbor soundtrack. "There You'll Be" also appeared on the album There You'll Be: The Best Of Faith Hill, an international greatest hits album. The album featured some dance mixes of "Piece Of My Heart," "Let Me Let Go," "The Way You Love Me" and "Breathe." In 2002, Hill released her new album with a more pop-oriented sound, Cry. The album "spotlight[ed] her impressive set of pipes", but also marked the completion of her "transformation into a pop diva", containing few nods to her country roots. Though the album debuted at #1 on Billboard magazine's pop and country album charts,[4] and Hill made her debut as musical guest on Saturday Night Live, the album's singles (including the title track "Cry", written and originally performed by Angie Aparo) received much less radio airplay than her previous smashes.[15] The album however, did win a Grammy Award and has sold over 3 million copies worldwide.[10] Faith Hill's 2002 single "Baby You Belong" off her Cry album was used as the theme song for the movie Lilo & Stitch. The music video featured clips from the movie as well as performance clips, It was released and well received in Asia. Hill was also interested in branching out into acting. Although she was rumored to have won a part in Mel Gibson's We Were Soldiers, she did not actually appear in the movie.[16] Her movie debut came in the summer of 2004, when Hill co-starred with Nicole Kidman, Matthew Broderick and Glenn Close in director Frank Oz's remake of the 1975 thriller The Stepford Wives.[17] 2005 2006: Back to country roots In 2005, Faith Hill returned with her new country album, Fireflies. The CD debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Country and all genre albums charts, placing her among only a handful of artists to have 3 consecutive albums debut at number 1 on both charts.[18] The debut single, "Mississippi Girl", became Hill's highest-debuting single. The song was written specifically for her by John Rich (of Big and Rich) and Adam Shoenfield of MuzikMafia, and tells the abbreviated story of her life. Hill recorded two other songs by Rich, "Sunshine and Summertime" and "Like We Never Loved at All", both of which became successful singles.[19] The album marked a return to Hill's country roots and succeeded in reestablishing her place on country radio.[20] Her focus changed to charitable endeavors in 2005. In the days immediately following Hurricane Katrina, Hill and her husband, who was raised in Louisiana, joined groups taking supplies to Gulfport, Mississippi. The two also hosted several charity concerts to benefit those who were displaced by the storm.[21] Later in the year the couple established the Neighbor's Keeper Foundation, which provides funding for community charities to assist with basic humanitarian services in the event of a natural disaster or for desperate personal circumstances. After a six-year break from touring following the birth of her youngest daughter,[2] in 2006 Hill and husband Tim McGraw embarked on their Soul2Soul II Tour 2006. The tour became the highest grossing country music tour ever with a gross of $90 million.[22][3] It was named "Major Tour of the Year" by the prestigous Pollstar Magazine, beating out such heavyweights as Madonna and the Rolling Stones. In a special gesture, the couple donated all of the profits from their performance in New Orleans to Hurricane Katrina relief.[23] 2006 CMA Awards controversy In November 2006, Hill made entertainment news headlines when she appeared to react angrily to losing the Female Vocalist of the Year award to Carrie Underwood at the CMA Awards. Hill, who was backstage at the time, could be seen pacing in anticipation and throwing both hands in the air as if she had won, and then mouthing "What!?" into the camera and then stepping away from the camera after Underwood's name was called.[24] Hill claimed that her reaction was a joke, saying in a statement, "The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention, given the talent gathered, is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving female vocalist of the year."[25] She later called Underwood to congratulate her and to clear up any misconceptions between the two singers.[26] Underwood has stated in public that she believes Hill meant no ill-will, and that although she did not believe Hill needed to apologize, her immediate attempt to make amends elevated Underwood's respect for her. Some fans, especially those of Underwood, remain unconvinced and believe that Hill was in fact upset at Underwood's win.[27] Present Her latest album, a collection entitled The Hits In 2007, Hill started work on her first domestic greatest hits package, titled The Hits, which was released on October 2. The Hits features two new songs, "Lost" and "Red Umbrella" (the current single), plus a live version of the song "Stronger," taken from the Soul2Soul 2007 tour. The album also features hits covering her entire career from 1993-2005. Included with The Hits is a DVD of 11 of Hill's music videos. Hill will be heard on Aretha Franklin's upcoming album A Woman Falling Out of Love, planned to be released later this year. She also recorded a duet called "Sleeping with the Telephone" for Reba McEntire's Duets album, released on September 18 2007. Hill is also featured on husband Tim McGraw's new album Let It Go. She sings two duets with him, "I Need You" and "Shotgun Rider". Both songs were sung at the couple's critically acclaimed Soul2Soul II Tour 2006. She and Tim recently did an encore of their Soul2Soul II Tour; Soul2Soul 2007 began in June and ran through August. Hill was recently asked to sing the theme for Sunday Night Football that airs on the NBC network. The song is called "Waiting All Week For Sunday Night". (Less)
