Well, Zubeda Khanum started her awsome career in Film Billo Starrin Darpan & Najma Begum with G.A.Chishty as Music Director in 1951 after He had the chance to see Zubeda singing dholak geet in a marriage ceremony. By the way it was same year when Noor Jehan started her Film Career in Pakistan as Singer, Actress & Director by Film Chan Way (which was offcourse directed by her husband Shaukat Rizvi but Noor Jehan was labelled as Director). Unlike the experienced Noor Jehan, Zubeda Khanum was a shy teenager but with immense singing talent and a wish to come on-screen as well. She had a 30 sec role in Billo and 2 songs to her credit. The film had a poor story and chemical processing was an absolute disappointment as well with a resultant flop on box-office. One more reason was Billo's initial name which was Miraasi (as suggested by Mirza Sultan Baig who was a Popular Radio compere and comedian in Program Nizam Din diyan Gallan aka Jamhoor Di Awaz :) it was changed to Billo cuz of protest from community. Zubeda sang in 2 movies in 1952. One song each in Punjabi Film Nath and an urdu song in Film Harjai picturised on Najma. Like Chan Way was movie of the year in 1951 so was Dopatta in 1952 and almost all other movies flopped. It should be kept ion mind that it was a developing industry and in both years there were not more than 10 movies released per year, so not much of a competition in cinemas. Though the movies flopped but Zubeda with her simplicity, beauty and typical teen-like voice had made her mark and she kept on doing hard work. Thats why when her movie Shehri Babu was released on Eid-ul-Fitr Day, June 13, 1953 it proved to be a superhit and succeeded on Box-Office much more than Noor Jehan's Gulnar which released in the same year in November. Its Music was conducted by Rashid Attre who had come from India after a few movies there. Zubeda did play a small role in Shehri Babu too but her major contribution was playback which dominated almost all other female singers of the time except Noor Jehan who used to sing for herself on-screen. Other seniors like Munawwar Sultana, Zahida Parveen etc gradually vanished from screen as Zubeda was the best match for happy, romantic and especially sad songs for Sabiha, Musarrat Nazir, Bahaar and Yasmin. 1954 brought Sassi, Roohi, Parwaz and Raat ki baat for Zubeda. Only 7 movies were released this year and all flopped except Master Inayat Hussain's Gumnam (Payal mein geet hain chham chham kay by Iqbal Bano as song of the year) However Zubeda started 1955 with Blockbusters like Heer, Patan & PaTay Khan. She was 2nd Couple in Patay Khan with Zarif who played the title role. Noor Jehan was first heroine in PaTay Khan. Its songs are available on Youtube. In 1956 Noor Jehan gave One Blockbuster (Intezar) and one box-office flop (Lakht-e-Jigar) while Zubeda gave 6 Megamovies (Sarfarosh, Baghi, Hameeda in Urdu and Dulla Bhatti, Mahi Munda, Chan Mahi in Punjabi) while Guddi Gudda was an average too. Now I have to stop here for 1956's Morni inwhich Zubeda still played a lil role. See her in a comedy scene with Zarif withwhom she did sing a number of Duets as well. See the fluent Natural Punjabi delivery of dialogs by the 'Ghilafi Ankhon' aur Khoobsurat 'ikahray badan' (smart figure) wali Zubeda Khanum. Enjoy the scene. Dün İzleme ve Değerlendirme Dairesi'nin raporlarını ele alan Üst Kurul, Sultana'nın söylediği 'Kuşu Kalkmaz' adlı parçanın, 3984 sayılı Radyo ve Televizyonların Kuruluş ve Yayınları Hakkında Kanun'un 4. maddesindeki 'genel ahlak, toplum huzuru ve Türk aile yapısına aykırı yayın yapılmamasına ilişkin' 'd' bendine aykırı olduğuna karar verdi. Ahlakdışı argo Şarkı ve klibi konusunda 'Alo RTÜK'e gelen yüzlerce başvuru üzerine inceleme başlattığı belirtilen RTÜK İzleme ve Değerlendirme Dairesi'nin konuya ilişkin raporunda, "Cinsellik üzerine kurgulanan klibin şarkı sözlerinde ahlakdışı argo, küçültücü, seviyesiz, kalitesiz ve gençleri zihinsel ve ahlaki yönden olumsuz bir biçimde etkileyebilecek sözcüklerin yoğun bir biçimde kullanıldığı görülmüştür" denildi. Bu arada Show TV'nin 'Pazar Keyfi' programında başta Aydın olmak üzere bazı sanatçıların 'Kuşu Kalkmaz' şarkısı üzerine yaptıkları bazı konuşmalar da, Show TV'ye yayın durdurma cezası getirdi. Söz konusu raporda, klibe ilişkin görüşleri sorulan şarkıcı Aydın'ın "Türkler'in kuşu kalkar kardeşim, bütün Avrupa bunu bilir" dediği ve yanındaki manken arkadaşı Esra Balamir'e de "Sen hiç gördün mü, kuşu kalkmaz, gördün mü Türkiye sınırları içinde" diye sözler sarf ettiği belirtildi. Erbil'in yorumu 'Pazar Keyfi' programının 2 Temmuz'da yayınlanan bölümünde de Mehmet Ali Erbil'in aynı şarkı üzerindeki yorumları, İnterstar'ın da bir gün yayın durdurma cezası almasına yol açtı.
