This is Purely a quick overview how to get the Cdj-400s to work as midi controllers for Traktor 3, and also how to route it out through an external mixer. I also want to add since I had a couple questions about it, my mixer is not a midi controller, it is a standard mixer so any mixer can be used and hooked up the same way I used mine. This isn't me trying to beatmatch or anything, just a guide. I still prefer using my thumb drives in regular cdj mode versus using this setup. I already had this program though and I figured I would set these up to see how well they worked together. Overall its not bad, just takes getting used to because the feel isnt exactly the same. There are not any videos on here showing how to get everything working though, so I thought this may help some people out. I used a Tks file I found on the NI forum and added features to it to create the one I now have. The file can be modified how ever someone would want, but in the process of doing that I basically had to restart traktor 50 times becuase it would freeze or error up. So using this will save some time and aggrivation going through and using the learn function for all the controls, and trying to guess what is what. A big thing I forgot is that I also have the SELECT PUSH Knob setup to scroll through the track collection, and the push function on that knob is to select and load the song. Another feature I forgot is the SEEK buttons left and right, it is set to scan through the song. Some side notes. I could only set the pitch fader to 100% or 8%, I have now figured out how to set it to anything, so I now have it at 6%. Also, the buttons I have setup for the effects knobs speeds can be adjusted, that is done in the midi hotkeys section. I was messing around with the latency settings and for whatever reason mine was setup to 40.5ms, so this video was done with 40.5ms latency. My computer can run it at 10ms smoothly and it sounds much better, still not perfect but much better. This is the link to the TKS file that I have put together myself and from another Tks file. This is Purely a quick overview how to get the Cdj-400s to work as midi controllers for Traktor 3, and also how to route it out through an external mixer. I also want to add since I had a couple questions about it, my mixer is not a midi controller, it is a standard mixer so any mixer can be used and hooked up the same way I used mine. This isn't me trying to beatmatch or anything, just a guide. I still prefer using my thumb drives in regular cdj mode versus using this setup. I already had this program though and I figured I would set these up to see how well they worked together. Overall its not bad, just takes getting used to because the feel isnt exactly the same. There are not any videos on here showing how to get everything working though, so I thought this may help some people out.
I used a Tks file I found on the NI forum and added features to it to create the one I now have. The file can be modified how ever someone would want, but in the process of doing that I basically had to restart traktor 50 times becuase it would freeze or error up. So using this will save some time and aggrivation going through and using the learn function for all the controls, and trying to guess what is what.
A big thing I forgot is that I also have the SELECT PUSH Knob setup to scroll through the track collection, and the push function on that knob is to select and load the song. Another feature I forgot is the SEEK buttons left and right, it is set to scan through the song.
Some side notes. I could only set the pitch fader to 100% or 8%, I have now figured out how to set it to anything, so I now have it at 6%. Also, the buttons I have setup for the effects knobs speeds can be adjusted, that is done in the midi hotkeys section.
I was messing around with the latency settings and for whatever reason mine was setup to 40.5ms, so this video was done with 40.5ms latency. My computer can run it at 10ms smoothly and it sounds much better, still not perfect but much better.

Okay guys, no more asking for clarification on how to do horse farming runs for obtaining rare horses (including Red Hare). This video is to give both a guide and a video on how to farm for rare horses. To obtain Red Hare on PS3, go look up the time trick to get him very quickly. Yes, in the video I did kill Zhang Fei in 2 hits while I was riding toward Liu Bei just for fun. He doesn't become powered up unless he reaches the bridge, so killing him near the tents is ideal. You should be finishing these runs in about a minute, not 1:30 like this run. I wasted time killing Zhang Fei and used an ice horse instead of a lightning horse. Also, I wasn't using a flash weapon, so it didn't kill Liu Bei faster. If you have the 360 version, here is how I do my horse farming runs. If you are getting DW6 on 360 you are in for days (hours if lucky) of horse farming. I have spent quite a few hours, more than 12 and probably close to 20. I'll give you my recommendation that I gave all my pals. Write this down, adhere to it exactly. First off, red horses are the rarest color horses you'll come across. There are 6 different rare horses you can get. To farm horses the quickest, play Chang Ban on Easy on Cao Cao's side, with 2 players or one if you don't want to have a 2nd player enter every time you start a new round. Have both players with a horse that has find saddle on it. You should have characters with Lucky Lady skills, meaning Liu Bei, Guan Ping, and other such characters. I recommend using Liu Bei. Try using a horse with lightning element to make this go quicker, and have the Musou trait on your horse as well. As soon as the battle starts, go straight forward until you get to the 2nd bridge. Cross that bridge, and go forward, passing the small battle that is taking place. The path will force you to curve left, leading to a crate holding the horse saddle on this stage. Destroy that crate, then keep going forward, following the curving path until you can go right, leading to a small camp with tents. You should be passing Zhang Fei right at this moment if you have 450+ speed on your horse. You should be able to catch up to Liu Bei before he even passes over the bridge that Zhang Fei defends. Ram your horse into Liu Bei to stun him with the lightning bolt that will strike him from your horse's lightning element. If your character has the Musou Increases Faster skill and your horse has the Musou trait on him, then you should have JUST reached a full musou bar when you got to the tents. Jump off your horse and musou Liu Bei. You should be able to kill him in one musou. If he starts running away if you mess up, then just run after him, until you are within about 5 yards of him and press x or y to do your dash attack. Even if it is no where near hitting him, he will overreact and dodge it, causing him to stop for 2 seconds. Run up to him to combo and kill him. You should finish this stage in :55 to 1:10 every time. You should receive 3 horses, 1 from each character who used a find saddle horse, and 1 from the saddle in the crate. If Liu Bei dropped a horse saddle, you'll get one more from there too. Now, you want a horse with the description "His eyes consider the world" as well as "has a heavenly physique". If you don't have both of those phrases in the description, it will NOT become a rare horse. By rare horse, I mean one of the 6 Red Hare type horses, which each have their own unique ability for being the rare horse, which a regular horse would not have, along with 3 traits, as opposed to the 2 traits regular horses have. If you receive a horse with both of those phrases in its description, you need to follow this guide. I want you to remember that if you receive the right trait and stat up, then save right then and continue from there. That way if you don't get the right trait or stats, you can restart, and try again at the last part, and keep whatever optimum stats and such you have already earned. You want your stat increases for each level up to be as close to the following numbers as possible, so that you can be more likely to reach at least 485 in all stats. If you don't get 485+ in all stats, your horse will not turn into a rare horse. Speed = 39 Jump = 49 Destruction = 94 Attack = 79 The rest of the guide is continued on the part 2 video.
