It is designed to be a general utility that can trim and clean up video before exporting to tape or processing with another program. It does not possess the editing power of a general-purpose editor such as Adobe Premiere, but is streamlined for fast linear operations over video. VirtualDub has batch-processing capabilities for processing large numbers of files, which you can extend with third-party video filters. VirtualDub is best at processing AVI files, although it can read (not write) MPEG-1 and handle BMP image sets.
Version 1.8.1 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Ok, virtualdub will not help make beginners custom titantrons and loop trons to make full. Unless you are prepared for it, stick with WMM
Anyway, this is a very powerful video editing software. In this topic, I will give a download link for Basic VirtualDub and my own custom version.
Things you need with VirtualDub:
* VirtualDub of course
* Compressors
* MediaCoder
We already know we need VDub, but I will now go in to detail about other softwares you need to go with it.
You need compressors to keep the filesize low when exporting. Not using compressors can lead to 30 second files exporting at over a gigabyte in filesize.
And you need MediaCoder to support VDub's strict format support. When making customs and making trons full, its best to use mpeg-4 with an avi container(.avi) and NO audio
This is possible with MediaCoder.

Derived from 16 mm film.
Available in VHS, DVD, MPEG and Sony DV-cam.
The film begins with several very short clips including a view of the newer dormitories, men wearing rat caps, a lecture scene, young people leaving a train (probably students arriving to attend UF), the stadium, registration, and the Student Service booth. The segments become longer and include some events as the Century Tower dedication, the Sigma Chi Derby with the parade, exhibits, speakers at some event in the Florida Gym, and the Student Service booth.
The film contains a variety of scenes and events and without sound it is difficult to decipher some of them although it can be determined that some of the clips are from 1953 while others were from 1956. In general, there is some interesting footage of the UF campus and the students in the early 1950's.

www.youcanputanynay.justgotowned.com
In March 2008, YouTube launched 'High Quality' versions of its videos. The new version offers the possibility of better video definition (480x360 pixels instead of the standard 320x240 pixels) for any video uploaded after this date. YouTube will decide which videos are capable of this improved quality based on the standard of the original upload. Users can choose "always show me higher quality when available" on their video quality settings page in their
Asked why YouTube did not choose HD format, the site answered : "Our general philosophy is to make sure that as many people as possible can access YouTube and that videos start quickly and play smoothly. That's one reason why you don't see us racing to call this "Super Duper YouTube HD," because most people don't want to wait a long time for videos to play."
As of November 2007 YouTube plays back videos limited in both size and quality. The size is limited to pixel dimensions of 320 by 240 and the quality is limited to a bitrate of around 314 kbit/s with a frame rate dependent on the uploaded video.[39]YouTube limits the playback size and quality by re-encoding the user's uploaded video at the time of upload. In 2006 YouTube permitted playback at higher quality, larger sizes, and in stereo, but some time after January 2007 YouTube applied quality reductions to new uploads.[40]
YouTube's video playback technology is based on Macromedia's Flash Player 9 and uses the Sorenson Spark H.263 video codec. This technology allows the site to display videos with quality comparable to more established video playback technologies (such as Windows Media Player, QuickTime and RealPlayer) that generally require the user to download and install a web browser plugin in order to view video. Flash also requires a plug-in, but Adobe considers the Flash 7 plug-in to be present on about 90% of online computers.[41] The video can also be played back with third-party media players such as GOM Player, gnash, VLC as well as some ffmpeg-based video players.
YouTube converts videos into the Flash Video format after uploading.[42] The different files are stored in obscurely named subdomains, accessible either directly or through YouTube's get_video PHP script[dead link]. YouTube also converts content to other formats so that it can be viewed outside of the website. See below.
YouTube officially accepts uploaded videos in .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, MPEG and .MP4, formats[43]
Users can view videos in windowed mode or full screen mode and it is possible to switch modes during playback without reloading it due to the full-screen function of Adobe Flash Player 9.
On September 14, 2007, Members of the VIDEOHelp.com forums discovered a method to allow high-quality video and stereo sound.[44] The method involved converting a video to the .flv format YouTube uses, and using a Hex Editor to extend the video's displayed playback time (usually to 10 or 11 minutes for non-Director accounts), thus "tricking" YouTube into believing that the file's bitrate was much lower than it actually was. Although load times significantly increased for videos, both video and sound quality was notably better than in comparable videos uploaded without the method. However, on February 4, 2008, following a maintenance period, YouTube took countermeasures against this method, and it is now impossible to upload high-quality videos[45]. This had no effect on any high-quality videos already uploaded to YouTube.
Political candidates for the 2008 U.S. Presidential election have been using YouTube as an outlet for advertising their candidacies. Voters can view candidate statements and make videos supporting (or opposing) presidential candidates (e.g., videos for Ron Paul, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden).[12] [13] Third Party presidential candidates have also made extensive use of YouTube. Libertarian Steve Kubby's campaign debuted a short animated film, featuring the faces and voices of campaign contributors who financed its production, on YouTube on September 29th, 2007.[14] The U.S. media has often commented that YouTube played a significant role in the 2006 defeat of Republican Senator George Allen due to a video clip of him making allegedly racist remarks that was continuously replayed by YouTube viewers during the campaign.[15] [16] [17] [18] [19] Political commentators such as James Kotecki have also joined the YouTube world of politics. Many commentators make videos on YouTube critiquing a presidential candidate's YouTube videos, or simply using YouTube as a medium to get their opinions heard. Recently, French and Italian politicians, such as Antonio Di Pietro, have also been using the site as part of their campaigns. YouTube has also been used by former Australian Prime Minister John Howard in the lead up to the 2007 federal election. (Less)

This may help processing of video where there is slight blurring between the fields, but may also cause there to be interlaced frames in the output.This option may be set to 1 or 2 to use a chroma plane instead of the luma plane for doing pullup's computations. This may improve accuracy on very clean source material, but more likely will decrease accuracy, especially if thereis chroma noise (rainbow effect) or any grayscale video. The main purpose of setting mp to a chroma plane is to reduce CPU load and make pullup usable in realtime on slow machines. Always follow pullup with the softskip filter when encoding to ensure that pullup is able to see each frame. Failureto do so will lead to incorrect output and will usually crash, due to design limitations in the codec/ filter layer. Inverse telecine filter, similar to the pullup filter above. It is designed to handle any pulldown pattern, including mixedsoft and hard telecine and limited support for movies that are slowed down or sped up from their original framerate for TV. Only the luma plane is used to find the frame breaks. If a field has no match, it is deinterlaced with simplelinear approximation. If the source is MPEG-2, this must be the first filter to allow access to the field-flags set by the MPEG-2 decoder. Depending on the source MPEG, you may be fine ignoring this advice, as long as you do not seelots of "Bottom-first field" warnings. With no options it does normal inverse telecine, and should be used together with mencoder -fps 30000/ 1001 -ofps 24000/1001. When this filter is used with mplayer, it will result in an unevenframerate during playback, but it is still generally better than using pp=lb or no deinterlacing at all. Multiple options can be specified separated by /. Just like the crop filter, but faster, and works on mixed hard and soft telecined con-tent as well as when y is not a multiple of 4. If x or y would require cropping fractional pixels from the chroma planes, the crop area is extended. This usually means that x and y must be even. For each ifps input frames the filterwill output ofps frames. The ratio of ifps/ ofps should match the -fps/-ofps ratio. This could be used to filter movies that are broadcast on TV at a frame rate different from their original framerate. If n is nonzero, the chromaplane is copied unchanged. This is useful for YV12 sampled TV, which discards one of the chroma fields. On x86, if n=1, use MMX2 optimized functions, if n=2, use 3DNow! optimized functions, otherwise, use plain C. If this op-tion is not specified, MMX2 and 3DNow! are auto-detected, use this option to override auto-detection. The larger n will speed up the filter at the expense of accuracy. The default value is n=3. If n is odd, a frame immediately fol-lowing a frame marked with the REPEAT_FIRST_FIELD MPEG flag is assumed to be progressive, thus filter will not spend any time on soft-telecined MPEG-2 content. This is the only effect of this flag if MMX2 or 3DNow! isavailable. Without MMX2 and 3DNow, if n=0 or 1, the same calculations will be used as with n=2 or 3. If n=2 or 3, the number of luma levels used to find the frame breaks is reduced from 256 to 128, which results in a faster filterwithout losing much accuracy. If n=4 or 5, a faster, but much less accurate metric will be used to find the frame breaks, which is more likely to misdetect high vertical detail as interlaced content. If n is nonzero, print the detailedmetrics for each frame. Useful for debugging. Deinterlace threshold. Used during de-interlacing of unmatched frames. Larger value means less deinterlacing, use n=256 to completely turn off deinterlacing. Default is n=8.Threshold for comparing a top and bottom fields. Defaults to 128. Threshold to detect temporal change of a field. Default is 128. Sum of Absolute Difference threshold, default is 64. This filter works only correct with MEncoderand acts on the MPEG-2 flags used for soft 3:2 pulldown (soft telecine). If you want to use the ivtc or detc filter on movies that are partly soft telecined, inserting this filter before them should make them more reliable. Inversetelecine for deinterlaced video. If 3:2-pulldown telecined video has lost one of the fields or is deinterlaced using a method that keeps one field and interpolates the other, the result is a juddering video that has every fourth frame du-plicated. This filter is intended to find and drop those duplicates and restore the original film framerate. When using this filter, you must specify -ofps that is 4/5 of the fps of the input file and place the softskip later in the filter chainto make sure that divtc sees (Less)

Sorry about the quality and the crappyness of the video. I couldn't find a video camera, so I had to use the video recorder from the digital camera. It takes good footage for a camera, but it saves in .mov, and Windows Movie Maker won't accept it (if anyone knows any other good freeware video editing software, contact me, please).
Now, that doesn't sound hard to do, but there are no working .mov to .wmv/.avi/mpeg-4 converters which aren't free trials that converts MORE than 5 mins of each video, which lead me to cut about 5 mins of 2, 10 min files.
Then, the crappyness of WMM kicks in. It has a problem publishing some footage mean't to be before the credits, which lead me to cut even MORE video.
But, I guess this works. And here it is. If I ever get the patience to try and fix this movie, I will, and I will replace this. But until then, happy viewing!
EDIT: I only enabled embedding for my site, but if you want to use it, contact me first. (Less)
