Description: Een lekker stevig nummer van de amerikaanse rockband "Queens Of The Stone Age" (ook wel "QOTSA" of kortweg "Queens" genoemd) "No One Knows"... het is afkomstig (More) Een lekker stevig nummer van de amerikaanse rockband "Queens Of The Stone Age" (ook wel "QOTSA" of kortweg "Queens" genoemd) "No One Knows"... het is afkomstig van het derde studio-album "Songs For The Deaf" uit 2002 wat een groot succes voor ze was.... Het wordt beschouwd als een van de beste rockplaten uit 2002 en kwam in Amerika zelfs binnen op nummer 3 in de charts... Bij muziekcommunity "Musicmeter.nl" staat het album zelfs genoteerd in de top 250 aller tijden op plaats 22, waar het bijvoorbeeld "Pink Floyd"-s album "The Wall" achter zich laat...!!! De band is opgericht in 1997 nadat "Kyuss" uit elkaar viel... De originele naam "Gamma Ray" was veranderd, omdat die naam al in gebruik was door een andere band... Het centrum van de band werd in het begin gevormd door "Josh Homme" (zang, gitaar) en "Nick Oliveri" (bas, zang), hoewel "Oliveri" niet op het debuutalbum speelde... de rest van de musici rouleren... Het titeloos debuutalbum bevat enkele sterke songs, met als meest bekende het openingsnummer 'Regular John'... In 2001 verschijnt hun tweede studio-album "Rated R", waarvan de hits "Feel Good Hit Of The Summer" en "Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret" hun doorbraak betekenen bij het grote publiek... Vanaf 2002 levert "Mark Lanegan", voormalig zanger van de "Screaming Trees", regelmatige bijdrages... Op het derde studio-album "Songs for the Deaf" speelt "Dave Grohl", bekend van onder andere "Nirvana" en de "Foo Fighters", zeer verdienstelijk mee op drums... Eind 2004 maakte "Josh Homme" bekend dat "Nick Oliveri" en "Mark Lanegan" (tijdelijk) uit de band waren gestapt... Een nieuwe full-length release, "Lullabies To Paralyze", werd in maart uitgebracht na de release van "Stone Age Complications", een album met daarop vier covers en twee B-kanten... De band bestaat anno 2005 uit "Josh Homme", "Troy van Leeuwen" (gitaar/lapsteel) en "Joey Castillo" (drums)... Ook "Mark Lanegan" werd weer opgevist en neemt zowel op "Lullabies To Paralyze" als op de live-optredens een deel van de zanglijnen voor zijn rekening... De bass-partijen werden op deze laatste plaat ingespeeld door "Alain Johannes", die ook live de bass-gitaar bewerkt... Daarbij is "Natasha Schneider" ook te zien als toetseniste, die samen met haar man "Alain Johannes" in "Eleven" speelt... Momenteel is hun nieuwste album "Era Vulgaris" uit en bestaat de huidige bezetting van de band uit "Homme", "Van Leeuwen" en "Castillo"... Voor de komende tour is "Michael Shuman" ("Wires on Fire") als bassist aangesteld en als toetsenist/gitarist gaat "Dean Fertita" (die eerder met "The Raconteurs" tourde) mee... In 2007 stonden ze op "Rock Werchter" en traden ze op in "Paradiso"... even lekker genieten van een stevig rocknummer met een lekkere maffe videoclip... ENJOY...!!! (Less)
