Career
Atkins appeared with 0-1 and Chris Black as part of Cash Money Click (not to be confused with Cash Money Records).
In 1998, he was signed to Def Jam Recordings, with his first major appearance alongside Jay-Z on the song "Can I Get A...". In 1999, he released his solo debut, Venni Vetti Vecci, and had a hit single "Holla Holla". The album went on to platinum status.
In 2000, Atkins was also featured on Irv Gotti's successful album, Irv Gotti Presents... The Murderers. This album featured other Murder Inc. record label artists as well as DMX, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes.
In 2000 Atkins released Rule 3:36, his second album. The first released single was "Between Me & You" featuring Christina Milian, which proved to be a hit and was followed by another successful single, "Put It On Me" featuring Lil' Mo and Vita. The album received an unexpected level of support, and went on to go triple platinum.
On October 2, 2001, Atkins released his third album, Pain Is Love. The first single, "Livin' It Up", was a hit. It featured guest vocals by R&B singer Case and sampled Stevie Wonder's "Do I Do". The follow up single, "Always On Time", was released in December of the same year and was yet another success. The song introduced the public to singer Ashanti, who performed the chorus. The album also featured the successful remix "I'm Real" with Jennifer Lopez. Finally, the album included the song "So Much Pain", a tribute to Tupac Shakur, and also went on to become triple platinum.
His fourth studio album, The Last Temptation, was released on November 19 2002. Although the album was fairly successful (it was certified platinum), it failed to carry the momentum brought by his previous album. Lead singles, "Thug Lovin" (featuring Bobby Brown) and "Mesmerize" (featuring Ashanti) were successful.
In 2002, Atkins appeared on Irv Gotti Presents The Inc and Irv Gotti Presents: the Remixes. Both albums were successful, spawning such hits as "Down 4 U" and "Ain't It Funny Remix."
Atkins' fifth album, Blood in My Eye, was known for tracks which were aimed at rappers 50 Cent, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, and Snoop Dogg.
Atkins released R.U.L.E. on November 9, 2004, and had hits with "Wonderful" (featuring R. Kelly), "New York" (featuring Fat Joe and Jadakiss), and "Caught Up" (featuring Ashanti & Lloyd). The album was certified gold in the U.S.
Atkins recently released new tracks from his upcoming mixtape on his myspace page. The mixtape features contributions from artists such as Ashanti, Fat Joe, Nas, Black Child, Caddillac Tah and 0-1, as well as brand new signees Harry O, Young Life and The Gift. He also is releasing his first single from his upcoming album, The Mirror, titled "Free".
He appeared on the remix of "Rakata" by Wisin Y Yandel.
Atkins is rumored to be in the upcoming movie Saw IV. It's being filmed as of April 16, 2007 in Toronto and is scheduled to be released October 26, 2007.

Fiddy heeft het ruzie maken op hiphoptracks oftewel beefs gebruikt als een zeer succesvolle marketingstrategie. Hij is de man met de meeste ruzies in de geschiedenis van hiphop. Zo heeft hij onder andere beef gehad met rapgrootheden als R. Kelly, Nas, Jadakiss, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Jay-Z en The Game. 50 Cent werd geboren op 6 juli 1975 onder de naam Curtis James Jackson III. Hij werd geboren in 'South Side Jamaica' in de achterbuurt Queens van New York. Hij werd door zijn moeder Sabrina tot zijn achtste opgevoed. Zij overleed in 1984. Tot op de dag van vandaag weet Curtis nog niet wie zijn vader is of was. Curtis verhuisde daarna naar zijn grootouders, die zich over hem ontfermden. Curtis wou in zijn jeugd een professionele bokser worden. Zijn grootouders konden niet voorkomen dat Curtis al snel op het verkeerde pad raakte. Dat kwam omdat hij opgroeide in een wijk met veel drugsbendes. Curtis had al contacten met drugsdealers als een 12-jarig jongetje en hij ging naarmate hij ouder werd steeds vaker met verkeerde vrienden om. Als 12-jarig jongetje begon hij al in te breken en hij verkocht crack op straat onder de naam Boo-Boo. Voor de handel in drugs werd hij daarna ook van de Andrew Jackson High School getrapt en belandde hij in de gevangenis. Hij maakte zich niet erg druk; eenmaal terug op vrije voeten ging hij gewoon verder waar hij gebleven was. Curtis werd al snel een succesvolle crackdealer. Hij vernoemde zichzelf later naar een legendarische drugsdealer uit Queens, 50 Cent. Als hij niet aan het dealen of met andere criminele activiteiten bezig was, ging hij naar Guy R. Brewer Boulevard, bijgenaamd New York Avenue en daar werkte hij aan zijn rap-vaardigheden. Hij verdiende nog wat extra geld door op straat te rappen voor voorbijgangers. Dit betekende niet dat hij zijn carrire als dealer opgaf. Dat gebeurde pas in de tweede helft van de jaren negentig, toen zijn zoontje Marquise werd geboren. Door de geboorte van zijn zoon werden de ogen geopend van 50 Cent. Hij zag in dat er wel toekomst zat in een carrire als rapper en niet in een carrire als drugsbaron. Hij tekende een contract bij JMJ, het platenlabel van Run DMC's Jam Master Jay. Van hem leerde 50 Cent zijn rapsongs structuur te geven en te verbeteren. Ook leerde Jam Master Jay hem door te zetten ondanks de vele tegenslagen die hij nog zou tegenkomen. Zijn leermeester geloofde er heilig in dat 50 Cent een grote ster zou worden. Het echte begin van zijn carrire als rapper begon uiteindelijk in 1999 toen hij het producentenduo Trackmasters ontmoette. Zij zagen wel wat in 50 en regelden een contract bij Columbia Records voor hem. 50 Cent verbleef daarna ruim twee weken in een studio in het betere gedeelte van New York. In die periode nam hij 36 nummers op, die op de cd 'Power of the Dollar' kwamen te staan. Een aantal critici die de cd kregen te horen waren zeer lovend over het werk, maar toch is de cd nooit uitgebracht. Volgens Columbia stonden er te veel gestolen beats op de cd. Trackmasters wilden daarna niet verder met hem samenwerken, nadat ze op straat werden beschoten tijdens de opnames van 50 Cent's eerste video 'Thug Love', die hij samen met Destiny's Child zou opnemen. Zijn eerste echte single was 'How To Rob An Industry Nigga', n van die 36 nummers. Hierin rapt 50 Cent op een komische manier op welke manier bekende rappers als Jay-Z, Big Oun, Sticky Fingaz en Ghostface Killah beroofd konden worden. Zijn fans en platenmaatschappij konden er om lachen, maar de collega-rappers in kwestie absoluut niet. Voordat zijn carrire goed en wel was begonnen had 50 al vijanden gemaakt in de hiphop-wereld.
