Eight teenagers have been arrested in Lakeland, Fla., on charges that they allegedly beat another teen in an "animalistic attack" so they could make a videotape to post on YouTube.
Seven of the teens remained in juvenile detention Tuesday, authorities said. A boy who was charged as an adult has been released on bail.
Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home, authorities said.
One of the girls struck the 16-year-old victim on the head several times and then slammed her head into a wall, knocking her unconscious, according to an arrest report.
Later, according to a clip of the video that was released by the Polk County sheriff's office, the teens can be seen blocking a door and hitting Victoria.
"When I saw my daughter in the emergency room, I didn't even recognize my own daughter," her father Patrick Lindsay, said a recent news conference in front of their Florida home. "I just walked in and held her. I didn't want her to see me weep."
"I've never seen anybody's face disfigured like that."
While the beatings took place more than a week ago, Patrick and Talisa Lindsay said their daughter remains scared for her life.
"She is having nightmares over it," said her mother, during a news conference outside their Florida home. "She has multiple bruises from it, from her head all the way down."
Her parents blamed the Internet for the incident.
"These Web sites are creating a space for criminal activity, beating, fights," Patrick Lindsay said. "MySpace, MTV's 'Jackass,' they are enticing our children and desensitizing out children. Now, if they create the best shock video, they are the heroes. They think it is top dollar."
They described their daughter as a popular, honor-roll student and varsity cheerleader, who was "very well liked."
"She didn't deserve to be beat down like a dog," her father said. "She thought she was going to die."

"Just the shock of it happening to you and seeing your daughter in a deformity, that was horrific," Talisa Lindsay said. "It's very emotional."
Rubbing his wife's back as she tried to gain her composure, Patrick Lindsay vowed to get justice for their daughter.
"I'm very upset with these Internet sites," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, MySpace is the anti-Christ for children. I'm going to carry this as far as I can."
Sheriff Grady Judd told NBC's "Today" show on Tuesday that the incident was an "absolutely an animalistic attack."
"They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet," he said.
Christina Garcia, mother of one of the defendants, said her daughter had turned the tape over to police.

Mean while Alexander Hamilton was writing letters attacking Burr this angered Burr. Burr then challenged Hamilton to a Dual. Hamilton accepted but lost the dual and died because of it. Fearing murder charges he fled to North Carolina. He then spent the rest of his life as a fugitive living in England, Mexico then finally quietly dying in New York.

Alexander Hamilton was the illegetiment child of James Hamilton. He live most of his early life almost as an orphan. This song is dedicated to Jesus Christ along with any person is who is going through pain or suffering or hard times of any sort. All around the world we see it happening. There are people suffering from poverty (physical, emotional, financial, spiritual), homelessness, starvation, disease, cancer, addictions, physical and sexual abuse, violence, even school shootings are happening now days such as the tragedies at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois universities. Everyday, people are dying - our loved ones, our family members, our friends, even us! Everyday, there are people who are scared and do not know where to turn.
The generation we live in today is facing many problems and many are living in the midst of crisis and tragedy everyday! Globally, there are 46 million innocent children who are sacrificed through abortion every year (that's nearly twice the population of Texas). Our young kids are turning to sex and porn addictions more than ever now. Our homes are broken with divorce rates climbing to 50% leaving our kids without a stable family, and violence keeps enduring all around the world through terrorism, racism, and hate groups. Disease and cancer continues to grow as well. In 2007, estimates show that 33.2 million people were living with HIV/AIDS, and close to 2.1 million of them died the same year. Not to mention, 6 million children under the age of 5 die every year as a result of hunger. It shows you that there are some desperate cries in the streets!
Our young people are turning to suicide and forms of self-injury (such as cutting) more and more now to "escape" their pain. Addictions of all kinds are consuming people everyday! People are seriously being put into bondage through addictions such as smoking, drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, eating disorders, and pornography. Speaking of porn, the average age a child will first view it is 11 years. Also, the average age that children are first exploited through prostitution is 12 years.
It is also a tragedy not to remember the countless millions of people who die every year due to genocide and war and other cruelties like it. Natural disasters are happening more often, and having an ever more dramatic impact on the world in terms of both their human and economic costs. Over the past decade, the total affected by natural disasters has tripled to 2 billion.
Overall, there is ALOT of stuff messed up in this world, and there are many victims due to it! People search for love and cannot find it. They long for hope while they struggle in misery. However, to me...I have found the answer to these problems! The answer is perfection and it is only found in Christ Jesus. For He is the One who will make EVERYTHING new! (Revelation 21:3-5)

Fearing murder charges he fled to North Carolina. He then spent the rest of his life as a fugitive living in England, Mexico then finally quietly dying in New York. Hamilton Alexander Hamilton was the illegetiment child of James Hamilton. He live most of his early life almost as an orphan. In 1775 Hamilton joined the volunteer army were he quickly gained rank and became a lieutenant. He captured a British battery witch he took and turned in to his own unit. Hamilton made this unit on his own using donated funds to buy equipment and uniforms. Hamilton like Burr became a war hero in the eyes of the people. Hamilton was known because of his successful assault on the fortress at Yorktown. Also like Burr this recognition helped his political career.
