It is a spiritual poetry written like a dialogue with the divine. The painitngs in the animation depicts a very famous event in Islam which is the Ascent of Prophet Muhammad to heaven. The winged people are the different angels accompanying him to heaven and back. The Persian miniatures are from the mid-1500s depicting Mohammed ascending to paradise astride the miraculous horse Buraq, surrounded by angels. In Islamic lore, this event is called the "miraj," or the Night Journey.Muhammad's extraordinary journey to heaven started in the Ka'bah in Mecca, where he was sleeping. The archangel Gabriel woke him up and led him outside to Buraq, a white horse (the name means 'white horse') equipped with huge wings. Buraq took Muhammad to visit heaven, visiting Jerusalem en route. Muhammad passed through the various stages of heaven, meeting Adam in the first, Jesus in the second and so on. In the sixth heaven he met Moses, and in the seventh, Abraham. Beyond it was Paradise. Before Buraq returned him home, Muhammad also visited hell. Archangel Gabriel, whose name means God is my strength or Man of God, serves on the white ray of purity. Gabriel is recognized by the three major Western religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The first spinning calligraphy one says something like this: "How can the heart that has not experienced the sorrow ( of separation from the divine ) in my heart, comprehend what I go through at night. The scrolling text in the background is devotional verses exolting the divine or god ( the Sufi poets usually don't directly refer to god as god in their poems and leave it sort of for the reader to figure out part of the text translates "the heart is filled with its kindness, and the eyes are a reflection of its light", "I have no knowledge of afterlife but I know I am forever under its ( "it" meaning the divine ) debt". The second spinning calligraphy says "Due to the repeated weeping (for the divine) the pupil of my eye is bleeding. "The figures drawing that were picked depict the ascent of Muhammad. But the poems that are by Hafiz are not in any direct way related to the picture because in the poems it does not say anything about the ascent of Muhammad. In an indirect way however, the picture of ascent is generically related to many Sufi poems because ascent of Muhammad was basically a direct experience of the divine. ( In popular culture they believe he really got on a horse and flew to the heavens and returned ). But If you look at the ascent as one man's direct and personal experience of the divine, and see that Hafiz is also talking about his own sorrows of wanting to be with the divine etc, then mixing of these poems and the painting become a very appropriate and natural association.
