And read the tiny FAQ at bottom if you're wondering how you can not level up. Bahamut is an optional boss in FFVIII. Beating him makes him join you as a GF (Summon). He is located in the Deep Sea Research Center, and can be obtained as soon as you get the Ragnarok near the end of Disc 3. Speaking of which, as soon as you get the Ragnarok and do the small scenes before going into the Lunatic Pandora, it's the best part of the game to do and finish sidequests. The LP is pretty much a point of no return, so don't go there yet unless you've done everything (unless of course you don't care). Anyway, don't underestimate Bahamut. He can end the fight easily if you're unprepared. You also are forced into two Ruby Dragon fights before hand, in which you must defeat them without being able to access the menu, and then you go right to Bahamut. So make sure you prepare before the Ruby Dragons. Also, make sure you select the right options to the questions Bahamut asks, or you'll end up fighting more than you need to. Bahamut generally has weak attacks. But when you start getting confident, he then whips out Mega Flare. This move completely ignores defenses. So think of it as not having anything junctioned to your defense stats. Ouch, indeed. If you are not at full HP when he does this attack, plan on that character getting KOed. He also has a chance of doing the move twice in a row, which means if you don't heal yourself very fast you'll die. The trick is to try to keep at least one character in Shell status. Shell will halve Mega Flares damage, it's the only protection. However, being in Shell status means Cure/Cura/Curaga will heal less. So I really wouldn't try to keep everyone in Shell, just in case you need to heal fast. While we're on the subject of magic, Bahamut has great magic to Draw. He has Full-Life (Best HP magic junction along with Ultima), and Flare (good for str), and Curaga (good for healing). So I would strongly suggest drawing at least 300 Full-Lifes from him, if not going for Flares and Curagas too. You should already have enough Dispels. I personally like this Bahamut's design. FFIX's my favorite design, but this comes in second place. Worst design goes to FFX's Bahamut IMO. Anywho, if you continue on with the sidequest after getting Bahamut, you get to venture further into the Research Center. Ultima Weapon resides at the bottom (the enemy, not the weapon). I'll be recording that too. -- Q: How do you not level up? Aren't there forced fights that give you exp? A: Well, bosses don't give you exp (as you see in the video). Soldier fights do, but if you cast Break on them, to petrify them, you don't get exp. If you use the Card ability on monsters, you don't get exp from them either. Q: How do you learn Card ability without leveling up? A: Use Seifer when he's in your Party at Dollet. KO Squall and Zell and let Seifer level up the GFs and their abilities (Ifrit needs to be LV10 if you want Lion Heart on disc 1). Since Seifer never joins the Party again, it still counts as a no level game. It's impossible if you don't do this. Q: How do you get Break magic early on? A: Win Cockatrice cards and use Quez's Card Mod ability to mod them into Cockactrice Pinions and then use Diablos' Status RF Magic ability to refine a Pinion into 20 Breaks. Q: I still don't think any of this is possible. Where's the proof? A: www.gamefaqs.com. Try to be less ignorant. (Less)

Ensanguined and or Zodiac Eschutcheon - 99 of X-Potions and at least 20 pheonix down, but you might not need them. - Wyrmfire Shots all the time 1. Judge Gabranth Have a gambit for gil toss, but if your low on gil then forget it. Just remain healthy while your beserkers attack Gabranth. Give a gambit Ally Any = Protectga so that you keep your beserkers protected. But they should be fine with decoy activated. Even if he renews himself, it won't matter just keep attacking him and this battle will end soon enough 2. Vayne This time dispell your beserkers. gambit Foe nearest = Attack. Have 2 more gambits but leave them off for now. Foe Highest Max HP = Attack for your 2 gunners and both of them should have a Hp gambit 30/40 % = X-Potion. Make sure to keep decoy activated on your leader. Foe Nearest = gil toss. Ally HP 50% = X-Potion. Have gambit Ally Vaan/Balthier (or whom you wish as your 2 gunners) = Shell / Ally Any = Protectga. While buffing put on sage's rings to lower mist cost for the spells. Start by giving Vayne a remedy wearing Nihopalaoa. Bring in your 2 gunners once you have remedied Vayne. Keep attacking him and remember to keep decoy up for Vayne. He will hit your decoy but at times can hit your gunners when he casts spells. 3. Vayne Novus You can't really rebuff and all, since its a continuous fight. But thats why you have some new gambits ready. Turn off the Foe Nearest = Attack, and turn on Foe highest max hp = attack, and those Ally hp = X-potions. (I did a mistake so don't forget to put the hp gambits highest in your gambit slots) Give him a remedy with nihopalaoa. Just keep attacking with those wrymfire shots and gil toss for your decoy Very Important. **Everytime you see a small video clip, re-remedy the enemy because he will have lost his main negative = OIL (Less)
