A strange mixture of seemingly unintentional humor , macabre plot twists, and the charm of off-season Provincetown. I wouldn't call it a drama. HILARIOUS. Patty L. is a real overdone nostril flaring trailer park siren. Ryan O'Neil seems to play the straight man to everyone else. I don't know how he maintained such a bland facade - I guess that's his style. He mostly stood around looking haggard, and so managed to provide something like a foil for all the circus freaks. At one point in the beginning of the film during a scene with his hard drinking crustacean of a father (L. T. is great), I thought I saw something like a suppressed smile cross the faces of both actors - a great moment that I'm sure was totally unintentional. Who wouldn't crack under the weight of all the corny dialoge? Contains the funniest dad and son out "fishing" in the rowboat at night scene ever filmed. I can still hear the foghorns. Despite all the corniness, its all somehow...so...mesmerizing.... Was the above comment useful to you? 4 out of 4 people found the following comment useful :- simultaneously funny and haunting neo-noir, 3 September 2003 9/10 Author: chrisdfilm from los angeles, ca. There are a lot of people who really hate this movie. Then strangely they go on and on detailing the things that bother them about it but that they also find fascinating and relentlessly hypnotic. It's unfortunate that people are so rigid in their definition of what makes a 'good' movie. Norman Mailer is by no means a terrible director. He actually does a very credible and commendable job of adapting his own novel to the screen. The dialogue is at times overblown and purplish, but it is never boring and frequently it's downright brilliant. Every performer acquits themselves well, even Debra Sandlund as Patty Laureine, Wings Hauser as the sociopathic macho police chief and John Bedford Lloyd as the eccentric, messed-up millionaire, all of whom can be accused of overacting. But ultimately their performances are completely in tune with their insane characters and draw us into a nasty labyrinth of twisted emotions and nightmarish memories. Ryan O'Neal actually gives one of his finest performances as an alcoholic loser who has messed up his life and who is so prone to blackouts, he's not even sure if he's killed someone. Lawrence Tierney is excellent as his tough guy dad who helps him make sense of the chaos in their small-shut-up-for-the-winter-and-consequently-spooky-as-hell Provincetown coastal neighborhood. Isabella Rossellini is also great in what appears to be an, at first impression, thankless role, but who in fact turns out to be the character who gets the last word and the best revenge. The great thing about this film is it manages to have its cake and eat it, too. It's not only an at times very creepy modern film noir, it's also a frequently hilarious black comedy. Also, contrary to some people's perceptions, the film has a complex narrative structure that pulls the viewer in, much like the best mysteries. If you go in not expecting a conventional mystery thriller but more of a cross between David Lynch, Roman Polanski, Jules Feiffer, Hal Ashby and maybe Arthur Penn(when he directed NIGHT MOVES), I guarantee you you will not be disappointed. Like that film, it's unpolished, awkward and brilliant. Ryan O'Neal, a brilliant empty vessel, as in "Barry Lyndon", is the perfect receptical for Mailer's essentially passive protagonist. Grotesque, awkwardly paced and fascinating, this should be considered manditory viewing. Mailer's hand is so heavy and the film feels so writerly that the experience is play-like and unusual. This exploratory quality is to be hugely prized (see "Kids", "Ninth Configuration", "Safe", "Dancer in the Dark" to see vastly different but equally praiseworthy examples of what can happen when Hollywood outsiders are allowed access to decent budgets and distribution). Was the above comment useful to you? 1 out of 1 people found the following comment useful :- supremely awful, like its author, 31 March 2006 Author: vandino1 from United States Norman Mailer used to mean something, literary-wise. He was a Big Noise back in the fifties and sixties trying to be the heir apparent to his hero Hemingway, but since Mailer was really just a small-statured city boy with no interest in the outdoors he resorted to games of thumb-wrestling and head butting men (and assaulting women) instead of hunting and traveling. Like this movie, Mailer is a juvenile, woman-hating, gay-hating, faux-tough guy obviously obsessed with his fragile masculinity. Decades of hype and bad writing and activities (including the notorious Abbott disaster) have reduced his noisy reputation to virtual silence. He has become as pathetic as this movie, based on another one of his terrible novels. Granted this film is more coherent than his previous directorial attempts way-back-when (i.e. 'Wild 90,' 'Maidstone') there is still no reason to give it any more credibility considering its supreme awfulness. Of course, there IS the 'Showgirls'-like aroma of a risible good time to be had for those inclined to cheer on the execrable disasters of filmmakers who thought they were making something worthwhile and were so very wrong. For other viewers this is a stupefying experience mirrored by the consistently haggard look of Ryan O'Neal throughout. Like Spike Lee, Mailer MUST include his obsessions on screen. Ala Spike, consider this a 'Norman Mailer Joint.' That means you will hear men grousing to other men about "being men" and "not being fags" and how spiteful and cruel all women are, and it will be spoken in purplish film-noir-meets-gym-locker-room dialogue (my favorite: "Don't tickle my stick.") There will be countless scenes of women degrading themselves for no reason or men complaining/crying because those ruthless harpies have emasculated them. Since it's directed by a rank amateur, naturally the actors look either lost or unhinged. In short, this film, like its author, is an embarrassment. Was the above comment useful to you? 1 out of 1 people found the following comment useful :- Norman Mailer's wildly uneven but often provocative rhapsody on noir themes, 21 October 2002 7/10 Author: bmacv from Western New York When Lawrence Tierney utters the line that gives Tough Guys Don't Dance its title, he evokes the stoic, hard-boiled codes of post-war noir, felt in films he made like Born to Kill, The Bodyguard and The Devil Thumbs A Ride. And when Isabella Rossellini shows up, she suggests David Lynch's kooky and subversive Reagan-era suspense movies like Blue Velvet. These homages mark two of the many streams that flow into Norman Mailer's rhapsody on themes of sexual intrigue, multi-tiered duplicity and garish murders. (Mailer directed his movie from his 1984 novel.) It's a baroque contraption that comes close to self-parody - and may even cross the threshold - but neither is it just a fling at film making by a celebrity author intoxicated by his own publicity. The forlorn setting is Cape Cod under the sign of Sagittarius: the dunes and the bars empty, and the Atlantic is choppy and gunmetal grey. Ex-con Ryan O'Neal (his boyish superstardom well behind him) has been drinking heavily since his wealthy if white-trash wife (Debra Sandlund) left him; one morning he wakes to find a tattoo on his arm and his jeep's upholstery soaked in blood. Circumstances lead him to a burrow where he stashes his marijuana harvest; in it he finds the severed heads of his wife and a woman he had picked up (along with her boyfriend) a few nights before. The clues he starts piecing together lead him back down paths that wend through his own none-too-savory past. There's the out-of-town `couple' with whom he had spent a hard-drinking night (Frances Fisher and R. Patrick Sullivan); a woman he had once loved (Rossellini) now married to Provincetown's sadistic Chief of Police (Wings Hauser); another woman he had met when she was married to a wife-swapping Christian preacher (Penn Jillette) and who later wed a rich, spoiled Southern boy (John Bedford Lloyd) then, ultimately, O'Neal, whom she recently left. Helping him find his way is his gruff, cancer-ridden father (Tierney). What plot line there is hangs on cocaine (maybe) and several millions, but that's but a pretext for Mailer to worry the preoccupations, even obsessions, which crop up again and again in his work, most notably the yin/yang of eroticism and violence. The women come across as predatory sirens but end up being almost beside the point - they're prizes for sexual competition between males, conflict that shades into edgy attraction, right up to taunting flirtation. (The movie is loaded with homosexual references, generally pejorative - the bisexual boyfriend is even given the name `Pangborn' - and the continuum of couplings, both on screen and in the back story, results in a very kinky daisy chain in which everybody save Tierney might just as well have slept with everybody else. Mailer comes close to suggesting that two men who have slept with the same woman share an implicit homosexual relationship themselves.) Coming to Tough Guys Don't Dance expecting anything like a conventional suspense film (even something `post-' or `neo-') is to court disappointment. One comes for Mailer, who's like the little girl with the curl right in the middle of her forehead: When he's good, he's very, very good, but when he's bad, he's horrid. How the proportions weight out in this movie can be argued, but adventurous and provocative nuggets nestle among some very bad choices (the acting runs the gamut from rather good to execrable, often within the same performance). Caveat spectator: wildly uneven and sometimes grotesquely macho, Tough Guys Don't Dance is far from negligible. Was the above comment useful to you? 1 out of 1 people found the following comment useful :- Painful in the Extreme, 11 January 1999 1/10 Author: SaintNo1 from Canberra Norman Mailer is one of America's great writers, however, he came spectacularly unstuck when scripting and directing this movie. The dialogue is appalling - it might have worked on the printed page but it's embarrassingly bad when spoken. The direction is flat as a pancake, much of the acting is over the top, and usually coupled with bad Southern accents, and the plot descends into ridiculous melodrama almost immediately. It would be totally forgettable except for the presence of the radiant Isabella Rossellini - just fast forward to her scenes or don't watch it in the first place. You'll be missing nothing. Was the above comment useful to you? 2 out of 3 people found the following comment useful :- Nor Can They Direct, 5 February 2003 Author: patrickboyle-1 (patrickboyle@patrickboyle.net) from Oakland I read the book last year. After so many years of disappointments I tried once again to find a piece by Norman Mailer that had the impact on me of "The Naked and the Dead". Alas "Tough Guys" is not that book. However it is a genuine hoot. A hard boiled mystery with a rapid succession of over the top scenes and characters. Not by any means an important book but a a great light (or lite) read. The movie however is just a mess with the exception of Wings Hauser. I was charmed that Mr. Hauser the King of the B Movies finally got a part that let him eat the scenery. John Bedford Lloyd is a problem as the protagonist's effete and ineffective rich college buddy. Lloyd is a big guy and a superior actor. He has been type cast as the the big guy in "The Abyss" and several other roles. He towers over poor little Ryan O'Neal. The nerdy Lloyd character was supposed to have always looked up to the physical O'Neal character. Mailer the director wouldn't change the lines written by Mailer the writer. Poor Lloyd spends all of his scenes hunched over trying to look smaller. It's even worse than the Shawshank Redemption where a 6'5" Tim Robbins tried to be the small weak guy the other cast members talk about. We keep hearing that most of directing is casting but why do we get Peter O'Toole a foot to tall for Lawrence and Mel Gibson a foot to short for Wallace? Was the above comment useful to you? Warning: For Intelligent and Advanced Film Buffs Only!, 10 March 2007 7/10 Author: AlanSquier from United States Okay, now that I have your attention, I don't guarantee that you will rate this the 7/10 I do, even if you qualify as an intelligent and advanced film buff. However, I do believe you will find something to chew on here. It's written and directed by noted author Norman Maileer. And it's tough in every meaning of the word. The rough plot sounds like a rather typical noir. An excessively drinking author given to memory blackouts doesn't know if he committed a murder or not. Believe me, it's not that simple and Mailer takes us down a long winding and convoluted path before we know the whole story. At times, it seems ludicrous, and although I disagree with the Razzie noms it got, I understand. This is the type of movie which some will find inexorably bad. However, it weaves a spell and the tough will stay with it because it's addictive. You will laugh at inappropriate times and groan sometimes, and yet the very serious film buff will continue watching it, and be glad he/she did. And I do believe that many will find this rewarding although certainly not unflawed. Maybe Mailer wanted it flawed. As others mentioned, Wings Hauser is the perfect actor in this. However, Ryan O'Neal gave this his all, and veteran B film noir actor Lawrence Tierney also adds to this. Some will love it; some will hate it. I did neither, but I did enjoy it. There was a point, the chain connecting the characters in their sex lives and in the chain of violence. Love it or hate it, I suspect you will remember this one and not consider it a waste of time. Was the above comment useful to you? Ridiculous, 18 December 2004 Author: (dj_bassett) from Philadelphia *** This comment may contain spoilers *** Outside of some nice location shooting in and around Provincetown, this is just awful, incompetently made from start to finish. Ryan O'Neal, in one long lugubrious flashback, tries to explain to his Dad why there's severed heads in his basement and a tattoo on his arm. The problem all started, you see, when he answered a SCREW ad..... Bad acting, ranging from stiff and wooden (O'Neal, Rosselini) to over the top (Tierney, who nevertheless gets a couple of good lines in, and Hauser, hamming it up as a semi-psychotic sheriff). Prose as purple as all get-out, probably inevitable when you consider Mailer's involvement. Incompetently put together, mostly told in flashback for reasons I can't understand, other than Mailer couldn't figure out a better way to get the information in. A story that doesn't make a lick of sense, although future scholars of Mailer will have to see this to see all of Mailer's issues dramatized: mostly women as either whores or maternal mothers who entrap you and faux Hemingway macho romanticism. Laugh out-loud funny at some points, although I'm not sure if it has enough brio to recommend it to fans of bad movies, as not a lot really happens, all in all. Better just to avoid it. (Less)

English subtitles:
BILL: Hello and welcome to the studio of Tokio Hotel.
Tom: Tokio Hotel!
Bill: Of us. Yeah we're going to show you how recording here looks like and what we have done lately, day and night.
Bill: Let's start at the office. Here we have....diverse decision are made here. Georg is sitting here with Silke
Tom: ...with our beautiful assistant. If you'd have come 2 minutes earlier, it would have been embarrassing.
Bill: Here it's always messy, I have to say. now they have just cleaned-up, so this is the clean version, but usually it's a mess here. Here we make all of the decisions, we're answering e-mails and yeah, all that s**t... office stuff.
Now this is the kitchen, the most important room. Here we stuff our faces day and night. As you can see, Pizza is always here. It's cold and old but that doesn't matter there's always something for everyone.
Tom: Sometimes we also cook pasta.
Bill: Yes, we also cook pasta from time to time. But actually nothing is more important than our oven. Here we make frozen pizza... or order in.
This is the room where instruments are recorded. Sometimes we record guitar parts, but mainly the drums.
Tom: Yeah, mainly drums.
Bill: Gustav is always drumming here to all songs. We also have piano here.
Tom: We can play the piano very good. Let me.
Bill: Nononono, I want. Let's play together.
Tome & Bill: One,two,three
Bill: I played wrong, didn't I? Whatever.Anyway, we are excellent piano players.
All song are made here. Whenever we have new material, we come here and checkout how everything works together. We're rehearsing a lot. Here we are preparing for concerts, all this is happening here.
Let's continue with the heart of the studio.
Tom: The direction.
Bill: Here are lots and lots of buttons, and many people who know how things work. We don't know anything.
Tom: No, I know how things work. I can control this all.
Bill: No... yeah... I'm not so good at this. I leave that to the guys who work for us. Some place here there are all tracks from all instruments and stuff. We always listen to songs. Whenever we have a new one, we listen here to how it sounds like.
Tom: Then the boss decides if it's good enough or not. MOI!
Bill: At a musician, this is the place you are least of all.
Tom: No, I'm always here, I'm recording my guitar parts here. Sitting on the couch, very relaxed. Most of the time I only need one take. I'm very fast, the others always need much more time.
Bill: But now you have to follow us to the most interesting part of the studio. The room where the great singer is recording. One floor above...
We are getting closer and closer to the room where the singer is recording everything.
Hereeeee... Very, very... unspectacular. This is where I work, where I spend several hours a day.
Tom: Lyrics are always lying here. I'm singing the chorus part. Or rather, Bill is singing the chorus and I'm singing the main part.
Bill: No, I have to tell you, the guys can't sing at all. But really, this is were I spend most of my time. When the guys have been busy downstairs, I get a lot of work to do.
And now we show you the door to the place where we spend our nights. Behind this door is our apartment, where we live when we're recording. I guess it's better we don't show it to you.
Tom: We will show it as soon as a cleaning crew was in there.
Bill: it's very very messy.
Tom: Currently we are trying to redecorate everything.
Bill: Theoretically we can go from here to recording right after waking up, but we do this rarely. But it's useful to live right here. Okay, I guess that's it. As you can see it's not very spectacular, but this is where we spend a huge part of our lives.
Tom: And sometimes we have parties here too.
Bill: I hope you enjoyed our little tour. See you soon. (Less)

Learn how to use the Law of Attraction to overcome you personal challenges. It worked for me when I applied this Universal Law during my despair, after my child was diagnosed with Autism.
How I Used The Law of Attraction To End My Despair After My Child Was Diagnosed With Autism
Hi, my name is Jennifer Graham and for the first time in a long time, I can honestly say that I am embracing all aspects of my life! It wasn't always that way though. I went through a long, painful and lonely journey to get to where I am today. I am sharing my story because I hope that it will inspire you to not only over come your greatest challenges but to also see the gifts they bring. Learning to do this is the best thing that I ever did for myself and my family.
This portion of my spiritual awakening began to unfold shortly after my husband and I became parents. We were so proud to have this beautiful baby who was so full of life. By age of two, our baby could recite the presidents and point to and name the states on a map.
Then suddenly one day at the age of three, our beloved child could no longer utter the words "Mommy" or "Daddy" and started slurring other words. On top of that, we started getting calls from the pre-school telling us that our child was having behavioral problems. During that period, I was also noticing that our child was doing things that I didn't understand. Our pediatrician was sympathetic but told us that the school district does that type of testing. When we went to the school district we were told to go back to the pediatrician.
I was devastated and in so much pain not knowing what was wrong with my child or where to go for help. I didn't know of any other parents who were facing what I was going through. I felt so alone. The best way I can describe it is like having a major crisis but with no 911. Meanwhile, my child's behavior became more unpredictable in school.
We later went to a psychologist who told us that our child had ADHD. I resisted using medication for a long time, but I eventually gave in because the behavioral problems were only getting worse and I felt it became a safety issue. The medication wasn't effective so we tried another one then another and still no results. By this time, several teachers were telling me that my child's behavior was so bizarre that they thought my child had a much more serious problem than ADHD.
Further complicating matters, my job as a television news reporter was now more demanding than ever. I was now working about sixteen hours a day. All of this caused me a tremendous amount of stress. I wanted to quit my job but decided to stay because I was worried about money since my husband and I were accustomed to having two incomes.
I felt so trapped by my job situation. What bothered me most was that I had an overwhelming feeling that my life was completely in the hands of others. Someone else decided when I worked, how long I worked or if I could take a much needed day off. I finally reached a breaking point and had to let the job go.
The Turning Point
Fortunately, at this time, my child's behavior stabilized enough to ease everyone's concerns. But now I was facing a crossroad with my career. I knew I wanted to continue working in television but I also knew that I didn't want to work for someone else again. I wasn't quite sure how to reconcile the two.
ThenI gradually began to realize that I am in control of what happens in my life. This brought me to the painful realization that I didn't value myself and was surrounding myself (unconsciously) at work with people who supported my beliefs (inner fears of unworthiness)about myself.
How I started Using The Law of Attraction In My Life
I began to take a close look at how I created (attracted) this situation although I was compeletly unaware that I was doing this at the time. I immediately started paying close attention to my thoughts and core beliefs.I also closely observed what (and who) I was attracting into my life. I was truly beginning to appreciate and understand the power of The Law of Attraction.
I began reading every book I could find on the subject. This led me to the movie The Secret and the book The Science of Getting Rich and The SGR Program.
These are the resources that taught me how really focus on and attract what I desire into my life. I learned how to get in touch with my higher self and was told that a great opportunity was coming my way. A few days later, a colleague invited me to join him in running a video production company.
Now I have even more opportunities than ever! I use the Law of Attraction to help bring in clients. My greatest success though with this program is in helping my child.
Shortly after I joined the production company, I started getting calls from the school again. I was being told that my child was behaving strangely, not interacting well with other students and maybe didn't belong in mainstream schooling. So again I began my search for someone who could help me help my child.
Learning Painful News About My Child
Finally, after years of going from doctor to doctor, I was told that my child has Asperger's Syndrome which is a form of autism. As devastating that news was, a part of me was relieved because I thought that maybe now I could get my child the proper treatment. Sadly, that wasn't the case and still no one could tell me how to deal with the behavioral issues.
Every time I picked up the phone to receive a call from the school, it was like playing Russian roulette. Sometimes they were calling with good news about the accomplishments of my other child. Other times they were calling with terrible news about my child with Aspberger's.
I started getting very depressed and knew I needed to do something because again, I was allowing something outside of myself to control my life. I figured if the Law of Attraction could work in business it can help my personal life too. By studying the SGR program I learned about other universal laws such as The Law of Polarity which basically says that if a situation can be viewed as very bad, then there has to be something very good about it. This actually allowed me to see love and beauty in my journey.
I noticed that although the principal and teachers had been telling me all these things over the years that were very hard to hear, I could tell from the looks on their faces and the tones of their voices that they genuinely care about my child and I openly expressed my gratitude to them. I took time to really sit with and contemplate all the positive energy I was receiving. In other words, I changed the way I SAW my circumstances and then my circumstances started changing.
Almost immediately, other caring people at the school whom I had never crossed paths with before came into my life and told me about programs especially for children like my child. I immediately started getting my child the necessary help and within months, my child was making major progress. Although the teachers were noticing that my child was behaving much better, the other students were still keeping their distance. During lunch, the classmates would talk among themselves but not include my child. That's when I decided to teach my child how to use the law of attraction.
My Child's Amazing Results After Using The Law of Attraction For The Very First Time
That night, right before bed time, I had my child visualize what it would look like and feel like to be surrounded by other children with everyone laughing and talking and having a good time. I talked my child through the entire visualization and I could see my child's enthusiasm. Now, mind you I did this WITHOUT telling my child about The Law of Attraction or why we were doing the visualization because I figured we'd have to do this for many nights before we saw any results and I didn't want my child to be disappointed. After all, the students had kept their distance from my child for quite some time because they just didn't understand the behavior.I figured it might take quite some time to reverse this situation.
Well, the next day when my child got home from school, I casually asked how lunch went. To my surprise, my child's eyes lit up as my child said "It was Great! My best friend saved a seat for me at the lunch table and I got to sit with all my other friends!" I asked what friends and my child said that since the class behaved so well that day, the teacher said that they could eat lunch with ANY class in their grade. So the kids that invited my child to sit with them were friends and classmates from previous years and were either unaware of or didn't remember my child's behavioral issues. So to them, my child was still cool!
We tried the visualization exercise other nights with similar results the next day! Only in these instanceschildren who had previously ignored my child were now reaching out to my child!
My Life Today
My child just completed summer school and the teachers are telling me that there have NOT been any behavioral problems during this session. My child is even making new friends and is extremely helpful around the classroom.
As far as my career is concerned, I am now working in television again but this time it's on my own terms. I'm a partner in a video production company. We produce everything from documentaries to PSAs to interactive DVDs. This gives me the opportunity to do voice over and on air work.
The best part is I now have the freedom only do projects that benefit the community such as producing educational videos on topics such as over coming childhood obesity and homelessness.

This (More) By the way, the second song isn't by Billy Talent, but Blindside. ~~~~ This video focuses on how to perform the roles of attacker, collector, defender, and healer individually in that order. This is assuming you know how to play the game pretty much already from the ingame tutorial (how to get a team, how to read your menu, how to use your horn, and how to kill the Penance Queen). Keep in mind I was combat level 69 when I recorded this so if you're somewhere higher than that, you're probably going to want to use a dragon weapon and better armor. ~~~~~ Many people think your team loses points for using the cannon to kill penance instead of their designated killer. You don't. Click on "Advanced Breakdown" at the end of any wave and you'll see points are given for "Penance _____ Killed" (runner...fighter..healer). There's no spot for negative points because of "Penance _____ Killed by cannon" or anything. Anyone can shoot the cannon to kill the penance, and no one loses points for it. That's what the cannon is there for! Thanks to RoyalMessup for clearing this up http://youtube.com/watch?v=zR7IcufK3g8 . By the way, some people have asked how much time the torso takes. I really don't know for others, but I've done the torso for 3 other friends, and it took me about 4-7 hours each time because I knew what to do. I'd estimate 2-3 nights if it's your first night playing the game. It also helps not to kill the queen until you are about to get the torso and need to kill her to purchase it (she's tough). It can help you, too. This program is more than just about getting rich financially, but also getting rich in your relationships and spiritually. Hi, my name is Jennifer G.and for the first time in a long time, I can honestly say that I am embracing all aspects of my life! It wasn't always that way though. I went through a long, painful and lonely journey to get to where I am today. I am sharing my story because I hope that it will inspire you to not only over come your greatest challenges but to also see the gifts they bring. Learning to do this is the best thing that I ever did for myself and my family This portion of my spiritual awakening began to unfold shortly after my husband and I became parents. The Turning Points Fortunately, at this time, my child's behavior stabilized enough to ease everyone's concerns. But now I was facing a crossroad with my career. I knew I wanted to continue working in television but I also knew that I didn't want to work for someone else again. I wasn't quite sure how to reconcile the two. Then I gradually began to realize that I am in control of what happens in my life. This brought me to the painful realization that I didn't value myself and was surrounding myself (unconsciously) at work with people who supported my beliefs (inner fears of unworthiness)about myself. How I started Using The Law of Attraction In My Life I began to take a close look at how I created (attracted) this situation although I was compeletly unaware that I was doing this at the time I immediately started paying close attention to my thoughts and core beliefs. I also closely observed what (and who) I was attracting into my life. Learning Painful News About My Child Finally, after years of going from doctor to doctor, I was told that my child has Asperger's Syndrome which is a form of autism. My Child's Amazing Results After Using The Law of Attraction For The Very First Time That night, right before bed time, I had my child visualize what it would look like and feel like to be surrounded by other children with everyone laughing and talking and having a good time. Only in these instances children who had previously ignored my child were now reaching out to my child My child just completed summer school and the teachers are telling me that there have NOT been any behavioral problems during this session. Learn How To Attract Everything You Want. I'd like to help you bring the same positive changes into your life that I'm bringing into mine. I'm interested in hearing from people who are interested in tapping into their own personal power to help themselves and others. I want you to know that you don't have to you have to just sit back and accept your circumstances if you don't like them. My Child's Amazing Results After Using The Law of Attraction For The Very First Time That night, right before bed time, I had my child visualize what it would look like and feel like to be surrounded by other children with everyone laughing and talking and having a good time. My Life Today My child just completed summer school and the teachers are telling me that there have NOT been any behavioral problems during this session. Formed at the University of Vermont in 1983, the band's four members performed together for the better part of 21 years until their breakup in August 2004. Their music had elements of a wide variety of genres[1], including, but not limited to, rock, jazz, and funk sounds. Each of their concerts was original in terms of the songs performed, the order in which they appeared, and the way in which they were performed. Although the group received little radio play or MTV exposure, Phish developed a large and dedicated following by word of mouth, via Phish.net (originally a mailing list, then a Usenet newsgroup, now a website), and the exchange of live recordings. The beginning (1983-1992) Phish was formed at University of Vermont in 1983 by guitarists Trey Anastasio and Jeff Holdsworth, bassist Mike Gordon and drummer Jon Fishman. For their first gig, a Halloween dance in the basement of the ROTC dormitory, the band was billed as Blackwood Convention, a reference to a bidding convention in contract bridge. Their second gig — and their first billed as Phish — was November 3 in the basement of Slade Hall at UVM,[2] though another source gives the date as December 2.[3] The band was joined by percussionist Marc Daubert in the fall of 1984;[4] he left the band early in 1985,[5] and Page McConnell joined on keyboards in September. Holdsworth left the group after graduation in 1986, solidifying the band's lineup of "Trey, Page, Mike, and Fish" — the lineup that would remain for the rest of the band's lifespan.[5] Following a prank at UVM with his friend and former bandmate Steve Pollak — also known as "The Dude of Life" — Anastasio decided to leave the college. With the encouragement of McConnell (who received $50 for each transferee), Anastasio and Fishman relocated in mid-1986 to Goddard College, a small school in the hills of Plainfield, Vermont.[5] Phish distributed at least six different experimental self-titled cassettes during this era, including The White Tape.[6] This first studio recording was circulated in two variations: the first, mixed in a dorm room as late as 1985, received a higher distribution than the second studio remix of the original four tracks, circa 1987. The older version was officially released as The White Tape in 1998.[7] By 1985, the group had encountered Burlington, Vermont, luthier Paul Languedoc, who would eventually design two guitars for Anastasio and two basses for Gordon. In October 1986, he began working as their sound engineer. Since then, Languedoc built exclusively for the two, and his designs and traditional wood choices have given Phish a unique instrumental identity.[8] Recently, however, Languedoc has begun crafting guitars on custom order and, on a very limited basis, to the general public through local music shops. Phish in the fall of 1986.As his senior project, Anastasio penned The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday, a nine-song concept album that would become their second studio experiment. Recorded between 1987 and 1988, it was submitted in July of that year, accompanied by a written thesis. Elements of the story — known as Gamehendge — grew to include an additional eight songs. The band performed the suite in concert on five occasions: in 1988, 1991, 1993, and twice in 1994 without replicating the song list.[9] Beginning in the spring of 1988, the band began practicing in earnest, sometimes locking themselves in a room and jamming for hours on end. Dubbed "Okipa Ceremonies" (also spelled Oh Kee Pa), one such jam took place at Anastasio's apartment, and a second was at Paul Languedoc's house in August 1989.[10] The band attributes the sessions to Anastasio, who discovered the concept in the films A Man Called Horse and Modern Primitives.[11] As a result of this dedication, the band issued their first mass-released recording, a double album called Junta, later that year. On January 26, 1989, Phish played the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, Massachusetts. The owners of the club had never heard of Phish and refused to book them, so the band rented the club for the night. The show sold out due to the caravan of fans that had traveled to see the band.[12] By late 1990, Phish's concerts were becoming more and more intricate, often making a consistent effort to involve the audience in the performance. In a special "secret language,"[13] the audience would react in a certain manner based on a particular musical cue from the band. For instance, if Anastasio "teased" a motif from The Simpsons theme song, the audience would yell, "D'oh!" in imitation of Homer Simpson. (help·info) In 1992, Phish introduced collaboration between audience and band called the "Big Ball Jam" in which each band member would throw a large beach ball into the audience and play a note each time his ball was hit. In so doing, the audience was helping to create an original composition. In an experiment known as "The Rotation Jam", each member would switch instruments with the musician on his left. On occasion, a performance of "You Enjoy Myself" involved Gordon and Anastasio performing synchronized maneuvers on mini-trampolines while playing their instruments.[14] Phish, along with Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, and The Beatles, was one of the first bands to have a Usenet newsgroup (rec.music.phish), which launched in 1991. Aware of the band's growing popularity, Elektra Records signed them that year. The following year A Picture of Nectar was complete: their first major studio release, enjoying far more extensive production than either 1988's Junta or 1990s Lawn Boy. These albums were eventually re-released on Elektra, as well. The first annual H.O.R.D.E. festival in 1992 provided Phish with their first national tour of major amphitheaters. The lineup, among others, included Phish, Blues Traveler, The Spin Doctors, and Widespread Panic. That summer, the band toured Europe with the Violent Femmes and later toured Europe and the U.S. with Carlos Santana. Rise in popularity (1993-1995) Phish began headlining major amphitheaters in the summer of 1993. That year, the group released Rift packaged as a concept album and with heavy promotion from Elektra. In 1994, the band released Hoist. To promote the album, the band made their only video for MTV, "Down With Disease", airing in June of that year. On Halloween of that year, the group promised to don a fan-selected "musical costume" by playing an entire album from another band. After an extensive mail-based poll, Phish performed the 30-song, self-titled Beatles classic — better known as The White Album — as the second of their three sets at the Glens Falls Civic Center in upstate New York. Following the death of Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia in the summer of 1995 and the appearance of "Down With Disease" on Beavis and Butthead, the band experienced a surge in the growth of their fan base and an increased awareness in popular culture. Poster for Phish's 1995 Halloween extravaganzaIn their tradition of playing a well-known album by another band for Halloween, Phish contracted a full horn section for their performance of The Who's Quadrophenia in 1995. Their first live album — A Live One — which was released during the summer of 1995 became Phish's first RIAA certified gold album in November 1995.[15] During this fall tour, the band challenged their audience to two games of chess, with each show of the tour consisting of a pair of moves. The band made their move during the first set, and, during the break between sets, the audience members could vote on their collective move at the Greenpeace table. The audience conceded the first game at the November 15 show in Florida, and the band conceded the second at their New Year's Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. Having played only two games, the score remains tied at 1-1.[16] This year-end concert would later be named as one of the greatest concerts of the 1990s by Rolling Stone magazine.[17] Cultural icons (1996-2000) Phish retreated to their Vermont recording studio and recorded hours and hours of improvisations, sometimes overlaying them on one another, and used those tracks as a basis to write most of the songs on the second half of Billy Breathes, which they released in the fall of 1996. Alongside traditional rock-based crescendos, the album has more acoustic guitar than their previous records, and was regarded by the band and some fans[18] as their crowning studio achievement. That summer, they mounted their first two-day festival — The Clifford Ball — at a decommissioned Air Force base in Plattsburgh, New York. Between 70,000 and 80,000 people were in attendance; MTV was on-hand to document the experience. In Phish's own makeshift city, Great Northeast Productions created an amusement park, restaurants, a post office, playgrounds, arcades, and movie theaters, and for two days Plattsburg AFB was the ninth largest city in New York. Aside from six "traditional" sets, the band rode a flatbed truck through the campground, serenading the audience at 3 a.m.[19] The concert's production company went on to host six more Phish festivals. Jams were becoming so long that several 1997 sets contained only four songs; their improvisational ventures were developing into a new funk-inspired jamming style. Vermont-based ice cream conglomerate Ben & Jerry's launched "Phish Food" that year and proceeds from the flavor are donated to the Lake Champlain Initiative. Part of Phish's new non-profit foundation, The WaterWheel Foundation was also comprised of two other now-defunct branches: The Touring Branch and the Vermont Giving Program.[20] The Great Went, Phish's second large-scale festival, was held that summer at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, just miles from the Canadian border. The band drew 65,000 people, qualifying the festival to be the largest city in Maine.[21] Band and audience collaborated yet again in a colossal work of art: individual pieces of art by fans were connected to a large piece of art by the band. A giant matchstick was lit, burning the resultant tower to the ground.[22] The Story of the GhostPhish headlined Farm Aid in the summer of 1998, sharing the stage with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Paul Shaffer. Again, altering their approach to studio releases, the band recorded hours of improvisational jams over a period of several days and took the highlights of those jams and wrote songs around them. The result was The Story of the Ghost and the instrumental The Siket Disc in 1999. Phish returned to Limestone for the Lemonwheel festival, and 70,000 fans again made the event the largest city in Maine. On Halloween in Las Vegas, Nevada, the group performed Loaded by The Velvet Underground; two nights later they played Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety to an audience of 4,000 in Utah. The following year, the band decided to forego the annual summer festival to prepare for the New Year's Eve millennium celebration. However, at the eleventh hour, Camp Oswego was held in July in Volney, New York, with 65,000 in attendance. For the Millennium Celebration, Phish traveled to the Big Cypress Indian Reservation in the Florida Everglades. Of the major New Years Eve concerts around the globe — Sting, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel — at 85,000, Phish had the largest attendance of any paid concert event that night.[23] During ABC's millennium coverage, Peter Jennings and World News Tonight reported on the massive audience and featured the band's performance of "Heavy Things". Called "Big Cypress", the enormous festival culminated with an extended seven-and-a-half hour set that began at midnight and ended at sunrise. 2000 saw no Halloween show, no summer festival and no new songs: May's Farmhouse contained material dating from 1997. That summer, the band announced that they would take their first "extended time-out" following their upcoming fall tour.[24] During the tour's last concert on October 7, 2000 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, they played a regular show and left without saying a word as The Beatles' Let It Be played over the sound system. The hiatus allowed the members of Phish to explore more deeply their musical side projects. Anastasio continued the solo career he'd begun two years earlier, formed the group Oysterhead, and began conducting an orchestral composition with the Vermont Youth Orchestra. Gordon made an album with acoustic guitar legend Leo Kottke and two films before launching his own solo career. Fishman alternated between Jazz Mandolin Project and his band Pork Tornado, while McConnell formed the trio Vida Blue. One more time (2002-2004) Over two years after the hiatus began, Phish announced that they were getting back on the road with a New Year's Eve 2002 concert at Madison Square Garden. They also recorded Round Room in only three days. In their return concert, McConnell's brother was introduced as actor Tom Hanks. The doppelgänger sang a line of the song "Wilson", prompting several media outlets to report that the actor had "jammed with Phish." At the end of the 2003 summer tour, Phish held their first summer festival in four years, returning to Limestone for It. The festival drew crowds of over 60,000 fans, once again making Limestone the most populous city in Maine. In December, the band celebrated its 20th anniversary with a 4 show mini-tour culminating at Boston's Fleet Center. During the Albany date on this tour, Phish invited founding member Jeff Holdsworth onstage for the first time since 1986. In order to avoid the exhaustion and pitfalls of previous years' high-paced touring, Phish played sporadically after the reunion, with tours lasting about two weeks. After an April 2004 run of shows in Las Vegas, Anastasio announced on Phish.com that after a small summer tour the band was breaking up. Their final album, Undermind, was released in late spring. The band jammed with rapper Jay-Z at their second Brooklyn show in the summer of 2004, and performed a seven-song set atop the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theater during The Late Show with David Letterman to fans who had gathered on the street, a move reminiscent of The Beatles' final performance on the rooftop of the Apple building in London. Their final show was also the last Phish summer festival — Coventry — named for the town in Vermont that hosted the event. 100,000 people were expected to attend, and it was simulcast to thousands more in movie theaters across America. Phish's final bow, August 15, 2004After a week of rain that prompted rumors of a sinking stage, Gordon announced on the local radio station that attendees should turn around, no more cars were being allowed in. As only about 20,000 people had been admitted, many concert-goers abandoned their vehicles on highway roadsides, shoulders and medians and hiked to the site, some as far as thirty miles. With the amount of people that walked in, the crowd grew to an estimated 65,000 in attendance. The band broke down crying onstage several times during the final concert, most notably when McConnell choked up during the ballad "Wading in the Velvet Sea" and elicited Anastasio to say a few words of farewell. Their final encore consisted of one song — "The Curtain" — which contains the now-meaningful repeated line "Please, me, have no regrets." Coventry was an emotional goodbye for Phish and for its audience; an end to Phish's chapter in rock music. Without any help from radio, music television channels or album sales, Phish became one of the biggest live acts of all time. As Rolling Stone put it:[25] " Given their sense of community, their ambition and their challenging, generous performances, Phish have become the most important band of the Nineties. " (Less)

Recorded between 1987 and 1988, it was submitted in July of that year, accompanied by a written thesis. Elements of the story — known as Gamehendge — grew to include an additional eight songs. The band performed the suite in concert on five occasions: in 1988, 1991, 1993, and twice in 1994 without replicating the song list.[9]
Beginning in the spring of 1988, the band began practicing in earnest, sometimes locking themselves in a room and jamming for hours on end.
The show sold out due to the caravan of fans that had traveled to see the band.[12]
By late 1990, Phish's concerts were becoming more and more intricate, often making a consistent effort to involve the audience in the performance.
On occasion, a performance of "You Enjoy Myself" involved Gordon and Anastasio performing synchronized maneuvers on mini-trampolines while playing their instruments.[14]
Phish, along with Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, and The Beatles, was one of the first bands to have a Usenet newsgroup (rec.music.phish), which launched in 1991.
Rise in popularity (1993-1995)
Phish began headlining major amphitheaters in the summer of 1993.
Their first live album — A Live One — which was released during the summer of 1995 became Phish's first RIAA certified gold album in November 1995.[15]
During this fall tour, the band challenged their audience to two games of chess, with each show of the tour consisting of a pair of moves. The band made their move during the first set, and, during the break between sets, the audience members could vote on their collective move at the Greenpeace table. The audience conceded the first game at the November 15 show in Florida, and the band conceded the second at their New Year's Eve concert at Madison Square Garden. Having played only two games, the score remains tied at 1-1.[16] This year-end concert would later be named as one of the greatest concerts of the 1990s by Rolling Stone magazine.[17]
Cultural icons (1996-2000)
Phish retreated to their Vermont recording studio and recorded hours and hours of improvisations, sometimes overlaying them on one another, and used those tracks as a basis to write most of the songs on the second half of Billy Breathes, which they released in the fall of 1996.
Part of Phish's new non-profit foundation, The WaterWheel Foundation was also comprised of two other now-defunct branches: The Touring Branch and the Vermont Giving Program.[20]
The Great Went, Phish's second large-scale festival, was held that summer at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine, just miles from the Canadian border. The band drew 65,000 people, qualifying the festival to be the largest city in Maine.[21] Band and audience collaborated yet again in a colossal work of art: individual pieces of art by fans were connected to a large piece of art by the band. A giant matchstick was lit, burning the resultant tower to the ground.[22]
The Story of the GhostPhish headlined Farm Aid in the summer of 1998, sharing the stage with Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Paul Shaffer.
One more time (2002-2004)
Over two years after the hiatus began, Phish announced that they were getting back on the road with a New Year's Eve 2002 concert at Madison Square Garden. They also recorded Round Room in only three days. In their return concert, McConnell's brother was introduced as actor Tom Hanks. The doppelgänger sang a line of the song "Wilson", prompting several media outlets to report that the actor had "jammed with Phish."
At the end of the 2003 summer tour, Phish held their first summer festival in four years, returning to Limestone for It.
Their final encore consisted of one song — "The Curtain" — which contains the now-meaningful repeated line "Please, me, have no regrets."
Coventry was an emotional goodbye for Phish and for its audience; an end to Phish's chapter in rock music. Without any help from radio, music television channels or album sales, Phish became one of the biggest live acts of all time. As Rolling Stone put it:[25]
" Given their sense of community, their ambition and their challenging, generous performances, Phish have become the most important band of the Nineties. " (Less)

Lyrics for Alicia Keys - No One:
I just want you close
Where you can stay forever
You can be sure
That it will only get better
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I dont worry cause
Everythings gonna be alright
People keep talking
They can say what they like
But all I know is everything's gonna be alright
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
You you
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
When the rain is pouring down
And my heart is hurting
You will always be around
This I know for certain
You and me together
Through the days and nights
I dont worry cause
Everythings gonna be alright
People keep talking
They can say what they like
But all I know is everything's gonna be alright
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
You you
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
I know some people search the world
To find something like what we have
I know people will try
Try to divide
Something so real
So till the end of time
Im telling you that
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I'm feeling
No one no one no one
Can get in the way of what I feel for you
Oh oh oh....

We know, we know: Now that you're single, all of your friends are clamouring for your fabulous company. But if you're hoping to meet someone special, which pals will prove most helpful—single friends? Couples, perhaps? Or are you better off hitting the town alone? While any friend who makes you feel good about yourself belongs on your speed-dial, there are distinctive pros and cons to socialising with single people and married, says Karen Gail Lewis, author of With or Without a Man: Single Women Taking Control of Their Lives. And yes, there are even plusses to being the mysterious woman eating alone at the bar. So read on for the real deal about which method will work best for you.Single friends
They're always up for after-work margaritas. And it doesn't take much arm-twisting to drag a few mates to events for the unattached, whether that's a raging party at a dance club or a meet-and-greet in a church basement. "Going out with single friends allows you to see life from a single perspective," says Joyce Morley-Ball, a relationship therapist. "It lets you be reintroduced to the singles scene—with friends."
As long as you avoid jaded singletons, that is. Spending time with kill-joy pals who roll their eyes when you meet someone special will not only put a damper on your enthusiasm, it may actually cause you to blow off great prospective partners. Likewise, avoid any and all divorced friends who want to turn every outing into a bitch about the ex session, warns Wendy Allen, Ph.D., a relationship expert . "Stick with the 'winners,' the ones who've done work on themselves and have achieved some peace of mind."Don't assume hanging with couples will turn you into a third wheel. "Divorced men and women need time to heal. Going out with couples can be a safe and fun thing to do," says Allen. And, bonus, when you go out with a couple that has a great relationship, "you can observe what makes for a happy marriage," she adds.
Allen knows firsthand. Once she was back on the market, she spent a lot of time at the home of a happily married pair she knew. "I learned a lot from them about how to handle conflict and show affection," she says. Maybe that made her more open to the romantic opportunity just around the corner—or, down the street, rather. "I met a man who was working a couple of streets from this couple's house, and we ended up getting married."
Susan Silver, a writer in Croydon, also believes hanging out with paired-up pals has its fringe benefits. "Going out with couples is the best for meeting someone, because they'll look around for you with no self-interest," she notes. "And men tend to have more guy contacts." (In fact, Silver went on several dates with buddies of her married male friends.) Besides, logging time at the home of a cosily married pair can ease your transition into the wide world of dating. "I am very grateful to my couple friends for schlepping me along and inviting me to their homes for the weekend," she continues. The challenge, of course, is to not spend too many nights wedged on a sofa between two married, inhaling popcorn and watching Strictly come Dancing! It sounds crazy. It sounds terrifying. But there are some very good reasons to consider holding your head up high and hitting that party/book reading/open mic night alone. Such as? The biggest pro is "you can do any activity you want—rather than stay home and miss it and wish you had gone," says Sherry Alpert, a divorced executive in Cambridge. "We singles who don't have kids at home can use our freedom, which we have more of than couples because we're not answering to anyone."
Plus, planning your own itinerary means you're more likely to stumble upon a like-minded partner. "You have more control finding someone to your liking if you choose the type of setting or event," points out Lewis. "And when you go alone, you are much more likely to meet others, since you're less reliant on your friends."
That's true even when you're attending decidedly unromantic events. Alpert happened upon someone special at, oddly enough, an acquaintance's mother's memorial service. "I certainly didn't go to the memorial hoping to meet someone," she says. "But we talked there, met each other afterward, and had a two-year relationship."
So go ahead, venture out at least once without that security blanket of friends. Ask for a table for one. Chances are you won't be dining alone for long.

Newcomer Jake McVey made the decision to walk away from a lucrative business (More) www.jakemcvey.com Within every musical soul, there’s always an inner battle between security and creativity. Newcomer Jake McVey made the decision to walk away from a lucrative business designing and building custom guitars to pursue his dream. Instead of providing instruments for others to play music, he decided to step out and make his own. "It was a scary leap," confesses McVey, who just released his second album, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. "Everyone always wants security, but I always knew I was going to go this direction. It got to the point where I was doing a ton of shows and still working the day job. I always knew I was going to make music and somehow you just come to the point where it’s time. I bought a bus, sold everything I had, moved in it and went on the road." The decision has paid off as McVey has become one of the most in demand young acts in country music. Performing 300 shows last year, he was named one of the Top Ten touring acts by Billboard magazine. His experience encompasses a variety of venues from sold out clubs to opening for Martina McBride in front of a crowd of 22,000. His high-energy stage show has earned the respect of fellow performers as he’s paid his dues opening for Dierks Bentley, Sugarland, Keith Anderson, Jason Aldean and Little Big Town, among others. This year he was booked for 10 consecutive nights at the Iowa State Fair. "I love to entertain, that’s my drug," says McVey, whose upbeat attitude and impressive work ethic are nearly as appealing as his fresh country sound. "I love people, the more the better. I don’t really get butterflies anymore. It’s just great to entertain and do what you love to do." Performing for fans all across the country is the fulfillment of a dream Jake had been preparing for most of his life. "My mom played piano and my dad was a drummer, so music was always going around the house," recalls McVey, who grew up working on is parents’ Iowa farm. "I knew at a young age that music is I wanted to do. Once I graduated, I moved to Phoenix to learn how to build guitars at the Roberto-Venn School of Luithery. Now most all of them---except one---that I play on stage are the ones that I built. When I first started and my tour schedule wasn’t so busy, I had my own little shop, but it started getting bigger and my goals were still here in the industry. I said ‘I can do this when I retire.’ I still build every once in a while for myself." McVey’s first CD attracted attention, especially with the singles "Unknown Highway" and "One of Those Days." Still McVey admits it wasn’t easy when he first hit the road. "I had to sell some of my prized guitars to keep things a float for a while," says McVey, whose high-energy stage show and skill as a guitarist has elicited comparisons to Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. "It was tough, but my approach was the old way of just taking the music to the people. And Of course, we’re Internet savvy and that’s helped too." His knowledge of instruments as well a wealth of performing experience that taught him what an audience wants coalesce on Jake’s new album. "Tone is everything that’s for sure," he says of carefully selecting the instruments he used on his latest recording. "I play a lot of lead, the Keith Urban thing instead of just strumming acoustic or playing rhythm. I’ll do that when I need to, but when I rip off a solo, I have as much fun as the rest of them. It’s a part of my life." A gifted singer and songwriter, McVey cites a diverse array of influences including Ray Charles, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Brad Paisley. "Instrument driven artists are the ones that inspired me a lot," says McVey, who writes regularly for www.guitarjamdaily.com. "Sometimes there’s nothing more powerful than just sitting on a stool and playing a song." Produced by J. Gary Smith, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE is a potent collection of songs that explore life’s challenges and celebrate the triumphs. Mixing youthful optimism with a hard dose of cold reality, McVey’s music taps a universal current of emotion. On the Even Stevens-penned "Carry On," McVey’s warm, soulful vocal reminds us that "what don’t kill us makes us strong." It’s an emotional song that explores some heartbreaking scenarios yet still offers up hope. "I Want to Live Like That" is a thoughtful look at a life well lived and the things that matter most. "Times Like These" is a poignant ballad with an understated melody and a lyric that celebrates the cornerstones of life---love and faith. McVey also turns in a compelling version of the John Rich tune "I Pray for You," which serves as a perfect vehicle for his road-tested, emotion-laded vocals. "Any Road Will Get You There" boasts a catchy chorus and infectious melody, and McVey’s skill as a songwriter shines on "Maybe." The title track, "Anything Is Possible," was penned by Catt Gravitt and Carl Falk. "It’s just a good positive tune," says McVey, "and we got the idea of doing pay it forward things, kind of like the ‘Pay It Forward’ movie. When we go on tour, we’ll visit nursing homes or children’s hospitals before our show in that town and do a 45-minute acoustic show. It’s great. I’ve heard 90 something-year-old women who can whistle louder than I can. They are just having a heck of a time. It feels good to go into a town and give something back." McVey’s music has a sense of purpose and an ever-present element of fun. When he first embarked on this journey, he told his dad "failure is not an option." He bought a bus, hit the road and has never looked back. McVey embodies the title track to his new record and proved that with hard work and creative passion, anything IS possible. "It’s a lot of work," he says, "but it always does pay off as long as you have heart behind the wheel." (Less)

Includes excerpts of a video shot of "Never...Spain" adaptation by a photog who was passing through in Westport (early 90's), who also sings, & who had rhythm guitar; vocals; and finger snapping added to the audio of that video-at a studio in North Carolina where the photog. resides. (several voice straining takes were taped for the raw footage made after quitting time for Danny's street show for the night, wee hours in Westport)Also includes some Robert Z. and Brownsville S. On the first footage here, it is a continution of excerpts, began on the next-most-recent posting ("Croman, adaptations-ad-lib;L.Z..etcetera"), of a comedy club open microphone appearance - during time Danny was catching paid work billed as "comedy" around the two-state area, in addition to his all-music gigs and street playing venue. The comedy, which was actually music/comedy, helped him form his present day "half serious musician/half jokster" peforming style. This particular set, excerpted from, was on one of many nights in which he - along with other working and amateur comics - put in time for exposure and practice at open microphone nights at area clubs known for that, a group that enjoyed company amongst others of like mind. One of the performances on Westport's streets excerpted here, you see former partner Tara Quirk and Danny playing a tune, a little past the time of their main partnership. The tune, one of several the pair had down pat, always went over well both there and at the Snafu club where they also did several gigs together. It is not only a good example displaying Danny's self-base- accompanying/intricate picking style which makes a fuller than average sound for a solo act or one-instrument minimalist combos. Having developed the style enabled him to better emulate the appropriate sounds the public recalls on the popular versions (and not an easy adaptation to make) without cheesy foot orchestra-in-a-can peddles or drum machines. The picking style has been part of Danny's signature performing style - which helped solidify some suceess for him as a performer over the years, albeit in a role once thought of as unconventional. The video also gives a glimpse at what a natural Tara Q. is at singing. Starting from her time playing with and learning from Danny, she began expanding out to playing, first, guitar then several instruments. She was, in fact, so natural - that practically any instrument you set in front of her, she'd play it in a way which did it justice, and then some. In the era when Danny used to set up a full drum kit on Westport's streets, on one memorable occasion Danny started in playing The Low Spark Of High-Heeled Boys, and without hesitation Tara kicked in the difficult percussion for the tune, doing so the first time she ever attemped the song, and having barely played drums at all, prior. She not only played it but did so better than many long time drummers this author has heard try the song. She remains a favorite performer to this author amongst all his associations in the area, she's developed some very good original songs, also. Not all of the footage would transcribe to d.v.d., in fact the tracking nomily seen actually damaged the beginning of that clip on the original tape. It's a drag but that's the way it goes sometimes dealing with recordings. As far as the method of facing the camera towards the passers-by and listeners, there are several factors in why that method was used, and with more rapidity in the earlier years. Firstly, in many cases the camcorder was used primarily to get the audio of the performance. Also, in some of the areas performed in, to have placed the video camera at the proper distance away from the performer would have both posed risks of it been knocked down and in some instances stolen. So duck taping the tripod somewhere along the wall behind, close enough to keep an eye on it, yet in a place where it could at least be focused on something, capture-able for posterity - in addition to the audio, helped prevent said risks. Also a side benefit, in some case was that pointing towards the audience allowed for the audience to feel an equal part in a show, they are, after all, supporting it, usually. In that way, certain areas lent themselves well to demo videos in which the excitement of the crowd enjoying the performance was a way to give potential employers of the performer a glimpse of the affect he has on his audience. For a street performer to have a camera trained on himself for great lengths of time, amongst certain types of audiences, would not be too acceptable a way to do things. The people watching aspect of the videos is also excellent, and video-taping performances can also help the performer memorize crowd members who only show up occasionally, helping to put names with faces. The people watching aspect of the videos is also excellent, and video-taping performances can also help the performer memorize crowd members who only show up occasionally, helping to put names with faces. aims to make this Ramadan a Ramadan you won't forget! The show appears on the Iftar Bites Program on Islam Channel.
Todays topic is:
Day 22 In Training
Some Gems to take away and implement from this session:
• I'tikaaf to seclude ones self in the Masjid (for the last 10 nights of Ramadan).
• If you encourage others, then they are going to encourage you.
• Prayer IS better than sleep.
• Allah trained his messenger, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam through the night prayer.
• After you have mastered the Fardh, Qiyam Ul-Layl (The Night Prayer) should be next on your list as this is the most beloved thing to Allah after Fardh.
• Carry your attitude from Ramadan, throughout the whole year.
• The prophet sallallahu alaih wa sallam said: Give glad tidings to those who walk to the Fajr and Isha salah in the night, as they will have full light from Allah on the Day of Resurrection.

I woke up the next morning, or should I say afternoon, I didnt know I could sleep so long it was nearing three, but I remembered Joe had woken me up earlier, he and everyone went out, and took Hayley with them, insisting I stay with Nick. I was surprised to feel a pair of strong arms still wrapped around me. I turned myself around, so I could face him, still sleeping soundly. I was expecting him to be looking better than last night, instead he looked worse. He stirred a little and his eyes opened. His voice was low and hoarse.
Nick: Morning, beautiful *he faked a smile*
Tay: I know youre still not feeling well.
Nick: I feel fine, never better.
Tay: *touches her lips to his forehead* you still have a fever, good try though.
Nick: But the tour-
Tay: Will wait, your mom has put it on hold for a few days. Enjoy the break, please?
Nick: Fine.
Tay: Thank you *kisses his cheek* Rest some more.
Nick: Where is Hayls?
Tay: Gone out with the family, go insisted I stay and Kev brought me starbucks. You hungry?
Nick: Nah.
Tay: *wraps her arms around him, Nick rests his head on hers* thats better.
Nicks POV
Usually I find it hard to rest, but with Tay I didnt have much choice. It felt good just to lay there in each others arms. I could feel her stomach rise and fall, memories from a night three years ago flooded back into my memory. The night Tay insisted she stay in the hospital with Kev and me. I held her tighter and she took notice. She moved her hand and rested it on my chest, lifting her head, kissing me softly. I took her hand in mine, it was her left one. I ran my fingers over her engagement ring, smiling slightly to myself, and then looking down back into her eyes which were searching mine for a answer of some sort. Gosh, shes beautiful, I sighed.
Tay: Are you surprised I still wear it?
Nick: I thought you would have moved on
Tay: Impossible, there were so many nights I wished that I was in your arms.
Nick: You could have called- anything.
Tay: I know, but I couldnt it took so much to come back and knock on your dressing room door, but it took much more to leave you at the alter
Nick: I should have ran after you
Tay *upset* Nick, can we please stop talking about this? Im sorry
Nick: I love you
Tay: I love you too, Nicholas.
Tays POV
It wasnt much longer before he fell back asleep, I too started to drift off, but I felt a sudden weight on me, it was Hayley.
Hayley: *whispers* Mommy, are you feeling ok?
Tay: Im fine sweetie, thank you.
She moved so that she was in between me and Nick, and soon fell asleep.
I woke up early the next morning around 3, Nick was tossing and turning and had broken out in a sweat. (Less)
