The Chain is the never ending tie that bound the band together in the past and binds them together now and, hopefully, well into the future. Undoubtedly this song speaks volumes about bitter feelings, a wavering relationship, and the need to keep the links in the chain together. What is in doubt, however, is the focus of these lyrics. Did Stevie write The Chain as a way to vent her frustration and anger over her shattered relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, or is it a statement about the fragile links between the five members of Fleetwood Mac and their need to stay together for each other and for the sake of the band - or some of both? The Chain can easily be interpreted as the written expression of love, anger, hate and frustration toward Stevie and Lindsey's torn relationship and their inability to communicate and interact with each other on a daily basis. This can be found in the lyrics "listen to the wind blow, watch the sun rise" and "...down comes the night". " And if you don't love me now/ you will never love me again" could be a warning to Lindsey to be sure that breaking up is what he wants because he will never get another chance to love her, or simply that she knows their time is running out and she knew it was time to decide to stay together or go their separate ways. She might have given a clue to her desire to be away from him and the rest of the band when she writes " run in the shadows" and "damn you love/ damn you lies" . She loves him and he loves her, yet they can't get along and she feels betrayed because he is the one who is leaving the relationship. They need to "break the silence" and start communicating, but instead he lies and finally "breaks the chain" between them. Her total rage toward him over leaving climaxes in the lyrics "I can still hear you saying/You would never break the Chain". The lyrics also ring true when including all the members Fleetwood Mac as the focus of "The Chain". The discord between Stevie and Lindsey, Christine and John, and the endless fighting within the group took a terrible toll on the band. The energy and passion shown in their music was being consumed by disagreements, finally resulting in Lindsey's departure. "Listen to the wind blow" could refer to the turmoil the band was in day in and day out. Everyone fighting, everyone wanting nothing more that to get away from everyone else. Everyone wanting to get away - to "run in the shadows". Their need to be together was tearing them all apart, and the glue holding them together was weakening day after day - "Listen to the wind blow/ down comes the night". The only way to resolve their problems would be to start communicating - to " break the silence" and strengthen the chain again. Stevie's overwhelming personal anger toward Lindsey comes through with "damn you love/ damn your lies" and "... if you don't love me now/ you will never love me again". The song comes to a climax with the resounding pain and anger of " I can still hear you saying/ you would never break the chain". Fortunately for all of us, the strength of the five links in the chain have been restored. Their wounds have healed and they have grown together again. Whether or not these lyric interpretations are valid or not are almost irrelevant. What IS relevant is that they came back together - not just for all of us, but for themselves. They have finally healed and "broken the silence". Maybe now they will finally stay together and "...never break the chain". http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/interpretations/t/thechain.htm Written by lindsey buckingham, stevie nicks, Mick fleetwood, christine mcvie, and john mcvie. Master Lock now offers one with a nylon sleeve to protect the finish on your bike or what ever else you need to lock up. Here Joe quickly locks up a bike and demonstrates the other features of this Tuff Links Chain Lock which offers quality protection and will deter anyone from helping themselves to your property. Use this with your ATV, boat, bicycle, motorcycle and more.
Today we are going to show you part number 8291DPS. What we have here is the Tuff Links 3 Foot Long Chain with Integrated Key Lock from Master Lock. As you can see it is basically a chain lock thats covered in a cloth material. Great for anything you want to tie up but if it has a nice finish you do not want to scratch it up. Such as a nice piece of equipment like a motorcycle, ATV or a bike. Virtually anything you want to tie up and not have to worry about scratching it. Inside the sleeve there is a sturdy hardened steel chain. The sleeve itself is nylon. It also has a special type of key called a disc key. This is a new design from Master Lock what it does is keeps the lock from being picked at. Also the key cover itself has a nice slide away plastic so if you leave it outside for awhile the elements will not get in there. Now I will go ahead and show you how it works.
It is actually a pretty simple device. What you do is slide the cover back and insert the key and it comes right apart. In this demonstration what we are going to do is tie the bike to this fence post. Designed well so that the chain itself does not catch on the spokes or anything when pushing it through. Put both ends together and it locks. There you have it for part number 8291DPS Tuff Links 3 Foot Long Chain with Integrated Key Lock from Master Lock.

Philip David Ochs (December 19, 1940--April 9, 1976) was a U.S. protest singer (or, as he preferred, a "topical singer"), songwriter, musician and recording artist who was known for his sharp wit, sardonic humor, earnest humanism, political activism, insightful and alliterative lyrics, and haunting voice. He wrote hundreds of songs in the 1960s and released eight LP record albums in his lifetime.
He performed at many political events, including anti-Vietnam War and civil rights rallies, student events, and organized labor events over the course of his career, in addition to many concert appearances at such venues as New York City's The Town Hall and Carnegie Hall. Politically, Ochs described himself as a "left social democrat" who turned into an "early revolutionary" after the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, which had a profound effect on his state of mind.[1] He was often seen as a radical and also a patriot — though he was also interested in differing political philosophies as well as journalism, and was an avid fan of music and movies.
After years of prolific writing in the 1960s, Ochs' mental stability declined in the 1970s and eventually he succumbed to a number of problems including bipolar disorder, depression, and alcoholism, and he took his own life in 1976.
Some of his major influences were Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Bob Gibson, Faron Young, Merle Haggard, John Wayne, and John F. Kennedy. His best known songs include "Power and the Glory", "Draft Dodger Rag", "There But for Fortune", "Changes", "Crucifixion, "When I'm Gone", "Love Me I'm a Liberal", "Links on the Chain", "Ringing of Revolution", "Outside of a Small Circle of Friends", and "I Ain't Marching Anymore".

[Local absinthe makes it's debut, a review, plus information about thujone-free and standard absinthe's legal status internationally.] Video and review by Reviewer Rob Tower Bar 619-284-0158 4757 University Avenue San Diego, CA I went to the Tower Bar on University Avenue, one of San Diego's foremost hipster bars where the best in indy rock bands can be seen amid 1940-60's saloon brickabrac with Rus Meyer boobsloitation videos playing in constant loops on the monitors overhead, early last night to check out whether or not they had absinthe like their myspace says they did. Seems they do, sort of. The brand they have is Lucid, a 124 proof, specially manufactured for sale in the USA and approved by the FDA on March 5, 2007, type of absinthe that doesn't have high doses of thujone, which is the chemical found in wormwood that caused absinthe to be banned in 1915. In the 1970s Nature magazine published an article comparing the molecular shape of thujone to that of THC, and theorized it would act the same way in the brain of humans, sparking the myth that thujone is a cannabinoid. In absinthe's heyday thujone was also blamed for the drink's hallucinogenic reputation. But while in high doses it has been shown to cause epileptic seizures in mice according to current data the hallucination thing has been proven false, and even modern thujone-containing absinthe contains such low levels of the substance one would have to drink enough to suffer from alcohol poisoning before seeing any ill effects from the chemical. So, soon perhaps the "real" stuff they sell in Germany and the Czech Republic may make its way to US cocktail lounges (right after they legalize pot for hookah bars, maybe?). As far as this non-thujone French manufactured brand Lucid goes, at 124 proof the intoxicating effects have not been tampered with, and I can assure you the absinthe Good&Plenty™ licorice flavor is there. It should remind you of a strong anise liqeur like Ouzo or Sambuca. In fact, it could basically be Ouzo or Sambuca with a little lime-green food coloring added to it and most of us wouldn't know what the fuck. Anyways... last night I also asked around at different bars and didn't readily find anyone else except the Tower that had it here yet. Kudos to Mick for scoring the product - at $60 per bottle retail and $10 per shot to the customer we figured he's tripling his money and counting big coup in San Diego's nightclub scene. Posted below are links to the video I shot last night of Matt, the Tower's bartender, igniting sugar over the absinthe as he prepares each drink like a dealer cooking up a shot of heroin for a junkie. Chad Boyer, an account rep from San Diego's City Beat newspaper chain franchise showed up before his 10 o'clock solo acoustic set at San Diego Sports Club to add engaging conversation about naked girls, The US Patriot Act and local city councilmen who are indicted and die under suspicious circumstances. Maybe there is something to the urban legend that absinthe was the inspirational spirit-muse behind the literary and artistic careers of several late-19th-century celebrities ~Ed. Before we start we need to take care of a few preliminary steps, first it's good to get the trailer in line at a nice level spot then take it apart and get some measurements off of it and we'll show you what measurements you need. The first measurements we need are on the truck itself. We're going to measure from the top of the wheel well down to the ground. The reason for these measurements is to make sure we get the truck back to its original height or as close as possible. Finally we need the coupler height with the trailer level on the ground. Just to make sure we need to measure from the ground to the top of the wheel well. On the front wheel we have 39-1/2 inches, and at the rear axle we have 41-1/2inches. from the ground to the top of the coupler we have about 23 inches.
Go ahead and write those measurements down on the blanks of your instruction sheet for reference later on. To start off the assembly we need to put the shank into the truck and put our head assembly on the back, loosely, and attach our ball. When installing our shank here, we're going to do a quick estimate where it's going to lay at, chances are we're going to have to adjust it up or down. For now we're just going to hold it in place. We're also at this point going to install our adjustment washers, we'll start off with six washers and we can always adjust it from there. Next we'll install the ball on here and to make it easier we will turn this sideways. We'll install our 2-5/16 ball, which is part number 19286. Next we're going to install the chains on our spring bars and we do that by putting the chain up to the spring bar, inserting a u-bolt and putting some nuts on to hold it in place. When you tighten these down, you run the threads past the nut is all it takes. You just have to make sure this has plenty of movement. Now repeat for the other side. Next we're going to couple up the truck and the trailer. We did leave the head assembly loose, which we'll tighten down as one of the last things we do. Next we install our spring bars and start getting those adjusted up. Before we install our lift lock brackets, we insert the tightening bolts that go in here. Sometimes the paint gets a little thick in there, so you might have to use a wrench to run them through. Really all this bolt does is hold everything in place. Optionally you can use these two bolt holes to permanently attach these to your trailer if you want, but it's not a have to deal.
Now we need to position the lift lock brackets. You need to pull the spring bar up some you won't get too far, but pull chain as vertical as you can. Align the bracket with the center of the chain. At this point we can tighten the bracket down to the frame. Now we'll repeat for the other side. It looks like there's some cables in the way so we'll undo this to make room for it. Once we have the cables out of the way we can install our bracket. Now we can make the springbar chain connection. With the lift unit in the raised position, we'll pull on the chain and note which link is closest to the hook. We'll note which one it is and go down two links and use that one for the hook up. Now we'll jack up the trailer on the ball pulling up the truck at the same time to take tension off and making it easier to hook up the chains. Now repeat for the other side. One thing to make note of is to make sure you have five links minimum. That way you have plenty of room for the chain to move in between turns. Next we insert our safety clips, then we'll lower the jack and let it carry the weight. We'll adjust the hook up if necessary, we need to check and make sure the ride height hasn't changed that much. We need to check the opening at the fronts original uncoupled dimension and compare it to what we have now. 39-1/2 inches is the original dimension, and we have 39-1/2 still. The rear should be slightly lower, originally it was 41-1/4 and I have 39-3/4. About a half an inch which is acceptable. It looks like we've chosen the right weight distribution, now we'll tighten down the bolts on the head assembly. With our head bolts tightened down and our head screw tightened down, all in all we're ready to tow. If the measurements didn't come out right, one thing we'd have to do is remove some of the washers on the top or add some to achieve the proper tension we need. That covers it for part number 7903 the Draw-Tite weight distribution assembly for our 1200 pounds tongue weight and 12000 pounds trailer weight. (Less) Channel: youtube
