Maybe because it is so much easier to value life by looking outside than it is by looking inside...' The window symbolises in an ironic way the human wish to live in the centre and to have a window affording a panoramic view even when living behind that window can be expensive and/or hard... The window is mobile, can be set in various places, can be opened and gives a stunning view of the historical buildings or parks. In such open room, people sit, talk, read, drink coffee, look through the window... The room can also be 'rented' to passers-by, offering a panoramic view ad the like. The apartament can be moved from one place to another with the assistance of passers-by and observers. This way the window always gives a different view... The performance took place in the year 2005 at the following locations in Florence: Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Reppublica and Piazza della Signoria. IT: 'Perche' e' cosi' importante avere una finestra con vista panoramica? Forse perche' e' piu' facile avvalorare la vita con una vista verso l'esterno piuttosto che con uno sguardo rivolto dentro di noi.' La finestra significa abbandono della periferia, rappresenta l'ironico desiderio delle persone di vivere in Centro, e il desiderio di possedere una finestra con vista panoramica, anche se le condizioni della vita dietro quella finestra sono spesso precarie... L'Appartamento e' presentato da una finestra mobile messa in diversi luoghi attrattivi del Centro storico. In questo appartamento aperto le persone si siedono, parlano, guardano dalla finestra... L'Appartamento si puo' mettere in affito, cosi' la situazione diventa ancora piu' ironica...L'Appartamento si sposta da un posto all'altro con l'aiuto dei passanti e degli osservatori, e la vista dalla finestra si presenta sempre nuova. La performance e' svolta nell 2005 a Firence (Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Reppublica, Piazza della Signoria). (Less)
