Description: Give It Away 5 of 5 Josh Klinghoffer contributes on guitar. 03.08.07 Fleamail March 8, 2007 From: Michael Balzary Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2007 3:21 AM To: members@redhotchilipeppers.com (More) Give It Away 5 of 5 Josh Klinghoffer contributes on guitar. 03.08.07 Fleamail March 8, 2007 From: Michael Balzary Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2007 3:21 AM To: members@redhotchilipeppers.com Subject: we played houston tonight and san antonio the night before had a great jam at the end of the show tonight in houston our friend josh kinghoffer jammed with us and it was a psychedelic experience whoo wee tonight was the last night that we played with gnarls barkley it was great to play with them they had a great feeling about them and a beautiful and unique kind of music that cee lo really owns the stage and holds it down we are lucky to play with great artists love is a many splendored thing when i drove up to the show i met 2 nice girls who has big angels wings on that they made out of cardboard and newpaper there names were carla and angelique and i got them into the show i hope they had fun because they were glowing with goodness now i am siting in the hotel room and my wife and baby are sleeping and im gonna go to sleep it is gonna be great the beauty of a warm bed ahh the great beauty life is good i am reading 'standing on the shoulders of giants' by kareem abdul jabaar it is a history book about the harlem renaissance which took place in the 20's in harlem in new york in the united states it was an incredible explosion of art and culture that happened for a lot of reasons great writers........... some of it i knew about i and a lot i didnt it is so much fun and so inspiring to read about sometimes a guy can be proud to be a human being when i finish it i'll say some more anyways time to brush my teeth and stuff _____________________________________________________________________________________ 03.07.07 Fleamail March 7, 2007 well i have not written a fleamail in a long time i dont know why i just haven't just not in the groove of it guess we played tonight in des moines, iowa i had a lot of fun....i injured my back on a trampoline about a week ago and the last few shows have been painful for me i did a backflip and just had too much momentum and just landed on my spine on a metal bar than ran along the circumference ouch so anyways, tonight it started feeling better and i felt more free on stage a released kind of feeling so i felt free and good anthony is battling a cold and it was hard for him it is difficult to get better when you have to play all the time and travel around and put out a lot of energy but if you look up the world trooper in the dictionary you will see a picture of anthony kiedis things have been good for us overall lately certainly we have been touring for this stadium arcadium record for a year now and it is a lot but the opportunity to connect with so many people over this last year has been fucking cool yesterday it was so snowy when we drove from milwaukee to desmoines that we nearly didnt make it but we did i saw the greatest dvd today a concert of art blakey and the jazz messengers from 1958 lee morgan on trumpet benny golson on saxaphone jymie merritt on bass and boby timmons on piano man it is so amazing to me i think that is my favorite era of jazz and my favorite era and type of music ever that i know of i mean there is so much music that makes me feel good in different ways but that art blakey and the jazz mesengers in 1958 with lee morgan i think that it is my favorite nothing can make me feel better i think if was stuck on a deserted island and could one dvd that would be it especially if i had my trumpet too......... and so amazed and so happy and so inspired with spirit inspired with spirit inspired with spirit i love you _____________________________________________________________________________________ (Less)
