2008-04-17 15:11:02 Description: LINER NOTES FOR THE ASSOCIATION'S AND THEN...ALONG COMES THE ASSOCIATION By Richie Unterberger With the two smashes "Along Comes Mary" and "Cherish," the Association (More) LINER NOTES FOR THE ASSOCIATION'S AND THEN...ALONG COMES THE ASSOCIATION By Richie Unterberger With the two smashes "Along Comes Mary" and "Cherish," the Association became one of the hottest new bands of 1966, the singles charting at #7 and #1 respectively. It was no surprise that their debut album, featuring both of those songs, was also a big success, rising to #5 and remaining their highest-charting LP ever, with the exception of their Greatest Hits compilation. The record also gave the Association the chance to showcase their versatility on material penned by both group members and outside songwriters, their complex multi-part vocal harmonies being the greatest unifying factor. And Then...Along Comes the Association was actually preceded by a few singles as the group struggled to establish themselves as a commercial force. Covers of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and Bob Dylan's "One Too Many Mornings," both in 1965, were very much in the folk-rock style that had become a craze with the emergence of the Byrds and their chart-topping cover of Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" in the middle of that year. With "Along Comes Mary," the group moved toward a more pop-rock sound, aided by a dynamite tune from non-member Tandyn Almer, and a new producer, Curt Boettcher. Boettcher was himself making a transition from the folk scene, in which he'd performed as part of the Goldebriars (who released a couple of albums on Epic), to pop-rock. He was already familiar with the Association when he played on a demo of "Along Comes Mary" with the group's lead guitarist, Jules Alexander, who enthusiastically pitched the song to the rest of the band. "When we first started, Jules was not officially designated, but he was more or less the musical director," remembers rhythm guitarist and keyboardist Jim Yester. "'Cause he had been in a couple rock bands before, he had a lot better handle on harmonic structure, and was obviously the best guitar player. He, a lot of times, would line out vocal parts. He'd sit down and figure it out on the guitar and say, 'Okay, you sing this, you sing that.' And then we'd adapt it, and somebody'd say, 'Well, listen. How about this note instead?' But basically things started with Jules." When Alexander brought a tape of the demo of "Along Comes Mary" home, Jim continues, "He says, 'Listen to this song, we gotta try this.' And he said, 'Jim, why don't you sing it?' It was very casual. 'We need a high voice.' 'Cause on the demo, Curt sang it, and Curt's a real high tenor as well. I think the only thing that was roughly the same was that vamp line -- that was Tandyn's whole trip. That and the chord changes. But it was just one single voice." With its dynamic interplay between Yester's lead and the rest of the band's vocal harmonies, as well as an intriguing lyric that jammed about as many syllables as were possible to fit into individual lines of a pop song in 1966, the song took a few months to catch on nationally. By the time it did break into the Top Ten in the summer, And Then...Along Comes the Association was ready to capitalize on it. In fact, however, work on the tracks that ended up on the LP had begun some time before, when Boettcher produced five cuts with the group in Gary Paxton's Homewood Studios. Aside from "Along Comes Mary," these sessions yielded its B-side, "Your Own Love," and two other tracks that ended up on the album, "Remember" and "I'll Be Your Man" (the fifth, "Better Times," remained unissued until 2002). The Association's "One Too Many Mornings" single had been produced by Barry DeVorzon, the president of their label, Valiant Records. But as Yester explains, "After the thing with Barry producing didn't work out, we begged him to let our friend Curt produce us. And he finally condescended, but with the stipulation that we use some studio musicians. So we did a combination of studio musicians and us. But they did the basic tracks, and then we did a lot of the sweetening and the lead guitar stuff, things like that." As the Association's harmonies were along the lines of the sophisticated vocal arrangements used by Boettcher's former group the Goldebriars, and his future ensemble the Millennium, "it was a good match in that respect," concurs Jim. "We were very harmonically involved, and Curt was too. Also, he was very aware of the MFQ [the Modern Folk Quartet], which was my brother's [Jerry's] group. We were all into the MFQ; a lot of groups went to school on the MFQ in L.A. Everybody else made it, and they didn't. It's very bizarre." (Both 1960s albums by the Modern Folk Quartet, who also used sophisticated harmonies blending elements of pop, folk, and jazz, have also been reissued on CD by Collectors' Choice Music.) The decision to make "Along Comes Mary" the single was, in a sense, ordained. "There was three or four of us that were involved with [the religious faith] Subud at that time," says Yester. "Roger McGuinn was also in it, [and] Cyrus Faryar from the MFQ. We convinced the record company that we were gonna take the five songs we recorded, and the elders of Subud did this thing called testing, where you would tell them the name of a song, and then they would kind of meditate and tell you yay or nay. We did that, and the two strongest reactions we got were from 'Along Comes Mary' and 'Your Own Love.' Actually, 'Your Own Love' got the strongest reaction from them. That song I wrote after I was in Subud for a while, that's kind of where it was coming from, so for me, that's why that reaction was [so positive]. But that's why those two songs were the first release. Then we went back to the record company and said, 'Okay, these are the two.' And they said, 'Okay.'" To fill out the album, the group would record more material in a different studio, which like the first was run by noted producer, engineer, performer, songwriter, and general musical jack-of-all-trades Gary Paxton. "The first one [Homewood Studios], where we did the basics, the studio was an old garage, and the booth was in an old Greyhound bus," laughs Yester. "His second studio [G.S.P.], the studio was the downstairs, like the living room and dining room of a house, and the studio was in a bathroom upstairs. Very bizarre. But it had great sound." In addition, vocals were recorded at a more traditional Hollywood facility, Columbia Recording Studios. Among the top sessions musicians in the support cast were guitarist Mike Deasy (who'd go on to play on other Association albums, as well as writing a song on their Insight Out LP), bassist Jerry Scheff, and percussionists Jim Troxel and Toxey French, with Boettcher contributing tone generator/oscillator. "Curt was very into a lot of outside instruments, and we were very up for experimentation, so we used a lot of different things," remarks Yester. "In fact, we were one of the first to sync two four-tracks together to make an eight-track, using a VSO, variable speed oscillator, to match the speeds of the two tape machines. But by the time we went to finish the first album, Scully came out with the eight-track. When we were working at Columbia Studio A, that's what we were using." As for the material selected for the album, as Yester notes, "most of those songs we'd been doing in concert for about a year or so anyway." The Association LPs would feature a remarkably even spread of songwriting credits among the members, and all six save Brian Cole wrote or co-wrote material on And Then...Along Comes the Association. At this point Jules Alexander (then still performing under the name Gary Alexander, as he would until 1968) and singer-multi-instrumentalist Terry Kirkman "were probably a little more prolific," adds Jim. "But most of the time everybody had at least one or two songs on the album. We tried to have everybody included. We had a publishing deal where everybody shared in everybody else's publishing. It was very clever. We actually had [a] publishing deal before we had a record deal. Because we auditioned for Capitol, and they didn't sign us, but they wouldn't let us out of the building until we gave them a meeting with [the] head of their publishing. 'Cause they couldn't believe a group with six guys, and everybody wrote. And they were pretty decent songs." The group did cover a couple of songs from outside sources on the album. "Don't Blame It on Me" was written by brothers Don and Dick Addrisi, who penned the massive 1967 Association hit "Never My Love." "Blistered" (later a hit for Johnny Cash) came from Billy Ed Wheeler, also known for writing the folk-rock classic "High Flying Bird," co-writing the Kingston Trio's hit "The Reverend Mr. Black," and co-writing "Jackson" (hit duets for the teams of Johnny Cash & June Carter and Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazelwood), as well as scoring a big country hit on his own with "Ode to the Little Brown Shack Out Back." The second big hit off the LP, however, would be a Terry Kirkman original, though it wasn't even planned as the follow-up to "Along Comes Mary." As Yester tells it, "We were going to release 'Enter the Young.' The version that I remember was a DJ from Ohio started playing 'Cherish' off of the album, and it went right up the charts in his area. Either the record company said, 'wait a minute, let's rethink this,' or the other version is, [Association manager Patrick] Colecchio convinced the record company to release 'Cherish' instead." It was a wise decision; on September 24, 1966, the single began a three-week run as the #1 song in the nation. By that time, surprisingly, the group had parted ways with Boettcher. "Towards the end of finishing up the album, he started like trying to put his stamp on us," recalls Yester. "The main reason we left and went with my brother [Jerry] for the second album was that we wanted to be who we were, and not who Curt wanted to be." The result was their second LP, Renaissance, and a story continued on the liner notes to that album, also reissued on CD by Collectors' Choice Music. -- Richie Unterberger (Less)

Okay. So this is my shot at my second movie about Darth Revan from the Knights of the Old Republic video game using actual movies.
Once again, Katie Holmes is my Revan because I played a female in the game. All the men are Carth, the woman at the end of the movie is Bastila.
I tried to show some of her relationship problems she went through with Carth in this video, a bit of Bastila is at the end as Revan looses a friend(if she goes Darkside).
The parts in black and white are her memories, parts in color are things that actually happen in my "KOTOR world, IE: Carth rescues her after the Star Forge, Bastila dies.
Some of the sound bits are a bit hard to here, one in the beginning of Carth and Revan talking goes like this:
"You're a lot of things, but you're never the last person I want to see."
You can hear the next part
"You say it will be different but it won't be."
I thought this related to how Revan is trying to prove that she is not "Darth Revan" to Carth and that she is not the same person who killed his wife and ruined his life, ect.
The part of, "I just wish he would have told me," I thought this was how Revan felt in the beginning of the game since Carth is all, I don't want to tell about my past.
At about 1:18ish the words are, "What's so wrong with me?" I thought this went along with Revan and how she was confussed about her past, why she was acting and feeling what she was feeling, ect.
At about 3:06, there is a colored part of Carth walking about saying, "Don't leave without me." and I thought this was how Revan didn't want Carth to go on the Star Forge because she was afriad he would die and Carth kept insisting he wanted to be there with her in the end.
Thank you so much for reading this, I just feel to understand and like this video, you have to read this. Sorry.
Hope you enjoy the video, please comment if you like. Would it not be amazing if there was an actual KOTOR movie? (Less)

This is the first of two direct responses I'll give from the IHY scene, so there's another actual music video that deals with this issue coming up soon. Also, someone asked me to share my thoughts on last nights episode, so prepare for another long optimistic description, that is if you read it all ;)
To watch in High Quality:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5l2K1C3OqM&fmt=18
Considering last night I thought this poem speaks volumes as to where Lucas's head/heart are at when he said that statement. I really think this is coming from Lucas wishing he hated Peyton because its easier, but he can't hate her, and that's really what he hates, he hates that he doesn't hate her. This is the poem:
Ten Things I Hate About You
I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair,
I hate the way you drive my car, I hate it when you stare,
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind,
I hate you so much it makes me sick, it even makes me ryhme,
I hate the way your always right, I hate it when you lie,
I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry,
I hate it when your not around, and the fact that you didn't call,
but mostly I hate the way I don't hate you,
not even close,
not even a little bit, not even at all.
Although my first response was; I can't belive he could possible say those words to her-this isn't the Lucas Scott we've come to know and love, he would never say such a thing to Peyton!-And that's a totally valid response bc its heartbreaking having to see them go through this. However, I do not think its ultimately harmful to the couple. Not at all. In fact, I think that this is one of the more positive signs we've seen in the last several epies. Why do I say that? Bc hate isn't the opposite of love, not at all. The opposite to love is indifference. Hate is much to strong to be indifferent. Hate is strong. Hate is passionate. Hate takes time and energy. Hate takes lots of emotional investment. Now, I do not truly believe he hates her, he may think he hates her, or at least in that moment think he does, but I really don't believe that he does and that we will see that in the future. But just the fact that he may have thought/think he does shows him putting a lot of emotion towards Peyton. He's confused, he's conflicted, he's scared, and all that intense emotion he's been holding in his heart for years since they've been apart, and especially since she's come back, has been starting to bubble and boil up over the surface, slowly (painfully slow) showing itself, and he doesn't know what to do with it. So at the moment he's turned that intense emotion into "hating" bc he doesn't want to deal with the reality of it any other way. But he will have to someday, and I think that day is drawer near. Although its been a tough season for LPers to sit through I think its been a very important one also. Lucas has been hard to take lately, as much as I love him his continuous Li whining has even me cringing, but all of it has taken us to this "I hate you" and as hard as it is to hear and watch I think that they needed to go this far with Lucas and make him this dark. That was the point. Taking him this far shows that without a doubt their love is true. Because no matter how far he goes from the man both we and Peyton once knew, ultimately he still loves her, and she still loves him. This is where Peyton's admittance of being in love with both the idea of Lucas and the reality, bc Lucas isn't the same man we've known in the past, she's still in love with the Lucas from the past-the one we all miss and love as well, but she doesn't just love the memory of his old self, no, she also loves the man standing before in the present. Some may think that her continuing to love him after everything is weak or pathetic, I however, think that it is an amazing representation of patience, grace, and love at its purest. They both rise above it all through their love. Their feelings aren't just about who they are at that given moment, but rather about the more steady and lasting nature of their hearts and the love they share between them. This season has shown us that even if they alter as individuals, their love for each other will not alter, and it will stay steadfast (even if one of them has it beneath the surface at the moment). I believe in these two so much. I believe they will end it together, "I feel it in my heart". ;)
Feedback always appreciated!

SYSTEM OF A DOWN @ Bojangles - Sacramento, CA 1999...also on the bill were HED PE http://capitalchaos.net System of a Down (also referred to as System or abbreviated as SOAD) is a four-piece, Grammy-award winning band, formed in 1995 in Los Angeles, California. All four members are of Armenian descent, grandsons of Armenian Genocide survivors, and are widely known for their outspoken views found in many of their songs. System of a Down has achieved commercial success over five albums, with singles such as "Chop Suey!" and "B.Y.O.B.". System of a Down is a part of the Axis of Justice, a non-profit organization formed by band member Serj Tankian (along with Tom Morello) that is dedicated to bringing together musicians, music fans, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice. http://systemofadown.com History [edit] Soil (1991-1995) The roots of System of a Down lie in the band Soil, a group from Los Angeles that included Serj Tankian on vocals and Daron Malakian on guitar, as well as Dave Hakopyan (Bassist for Apex Theory) on bass and Domingo Laranio (Local Hawaii Drummer) on drums. Shavo Odadjian joined Soil near their end as a guitarist. After three years, only one live show, and one jam session recording, the band split up. [edit] In the beginning (1995 - 1997) After Soil split up, Tankian and Malakian then formed a new band, System of a Down, based on a poem that Daron wrote. The poem's title was "Victims of a Down", but Serj Tankian thought that Victim would only appeal to a narrow audience and the word System would appeal to a larger, more general audience. They called on Shavo Odadjian, with whom they knew from when Soil shared a recording studio with Odadjian's previous band as well as when Odadjian was briefly their guitar player. Odadjian was originally the band's manager and promoter, though he quickly accepted the offer to permanently join the band as bassist. Since then, managerial duties have been undertaken by the highly successful Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group and streetwise founder David "Beno" Benveniste. One of SOAD's first releases was "Sugar", which was recorded on their first demo tape, and they have played the song at nearly every live performance since then. The band then found a drummer, Ontronik Khachaturian. SOAD quickly made an early Untitled 1995 Demo Tape, which had very early recordings of "Mr. Jack" (called "PIG"), along with songs called "Flake," "Toast" and an early recording of "The Metro," a cover of the Berlin song of the same name. There were also other tapes made, which contained early recordings of "36" (called ".36"), "Roulette" and "X" (called "Multiply")[8]. After this, the band recorded Demo Tape 1, which had early versions of "Sugar," "Suite-Pee," and "P.L.U.C.K.," as well as the rare track "Dam." Demo Tape 2 was released in 1996 and had a rough demo of the song "Soil" as well as the most known unreleased tracks such as "Honey" and "Temper." At the beginning of 1997, SOAD recorded their final publically-released demo tape, Demo Tape 3, which had rough versions of "Peephole," "War?," and "Know." Prior to 1998, SOAD's live shows were called "The Dark Red Experience." [9] In mid 1997, Ontronik Khachaturian left the band due to a hand injury. Soon after playing at the Whisky-A-Go-Go and Viper Room with new drummer John Dolmayan, producer Rick Rubin caught the band's attention and told them to keep in touch with him. Showing great interest, they recorded Demo Tape 4 near the end of that year. This demo, however, was made only to be sent to record companies. The tape was not released to the public until several years later when it was leaked onto the Internet. After Rick helped them get signed onto American/Columbia Records, SOAD began to record in his studio. In 1997 SOAD won the Best Signed Band award from the Rock City Awards. Debut album (1998 - 2000) In the summer of 1998, System of a Down released their debut album, System of a Down. They enjoyed moderate success with their first single "Sugar" becoming a radio favorite, followed by the singles "Spiders" and "War?". After the release of the album, System of a Down toured extensively, opening for Slayer before making their way to the second stage of Ozzfest. Following Ozzfest, they toured with Fear Factory and Incubus before headlining the Sno-Core tour with Puya, Mr. Bungle, The Cat and Incubus providing support. System was scheduled to play the 1999 Family Values Tour, but were kicked off by Fred Durst over his inability to sign the band Taproot. Fred Durst has since admitted that he was a "complete wanker" in relation to this "oversight"[citation needed]. The band have yet to comment on Durst's involvement or commentary. In 2000, the group contributed their cover of the Black Sabbath song "Snowblind" to the Sabbath tribute album Nativity in Black 2. [edit] Mainstream success: Toxicity/Steal This Album! (2001 - 2003) The group's big break arrived when their second album Toxicity debuted at #1 on the American and Canadian charts, eventually achieving multi-platinum certification. The album has since sold 6 million copies worldwide. It was still on top in America on the week of the September 11, 2001 attacks and the political environment caused by the attacks added to the controversy surrounding their hit single "Chop Suey!" causing it to be taken off the radio as it contained politically sensitive lyrics at the time such as "(I don't think you) trust in my self-righteous suicide." Regardless, the video gained constant play on MTV as did the second single, "Toxicity". Even with the controversy surrounding "Chop Suey!" which earned a Grammy nomination, System of a Down still received constant airplay in the United States throughout late 2001 and 2002 with "Toxicity " and "Aerials". In May of 2006, VH1 listed Toxicity in the #14 slot in the 40 Greatest Metal Songs. In 2001, the band went on tour with Slipknot. In late 2001, a few unreleased tracks made their way onto the Internet. The group released a statement that the tracks were unfinished material. Soon after, the band released the final versions of the songs, which were recorded at the same time, but hadn't been used for Toxicity. The result was Steal This Album!, released in November 2002. Steal This Album! resembled a burnable CD that was marked with a felt-tip marker. 50,000 special copies of the album with different CD designs were also released, each designed by a different member of the band. The name of the album is a reference to Abbie Hoffman's counter-culture book, Steal This Book and as a message to those who stole the songs and released them on the Internet. Dolmayan said in an interview "I don't care if fans download our songs from the internet but I don't like it when fans get our songs before the release date"[citation needed]. The singles "Innervision" and "I-E-A-I-A-I-O" were released as radio-only promos and received constant airplay on alternative radio. A video for "Boom!" was filmed with director Michael Moore as a protest against the War in Iraq. [edit] Mezmerize/Hypnotize (2004 - 2005) From 2004 to 2005, the group produced a double album, Mezmerize/Hypnotize with the two parts released six months apart. The first album, Mezmerize, was released on May 17 2005, to favorable reviews by critics. It debuted at #1 in the United States, Canada, Australia and all around the world, making it System of a Down's second #1 album. First week sales rocketed to over 800,000 copies worldwide[citation needed]. The Grammy Award-winning single "B.Y.O.B.", which questions the integrity of war, worked its way up the Billboard Modern Rock and Mainstream Rock charts. The next single, "Question!" was released with Shavo Odadjian co-directing the music video. Following the release of Mezmerize, the band toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada with The Mars Volta and Bad Acid Trip supporting. The second part of the double album, Hypnotize, was released on November 22 2005. Like Mezmerize, it debuted at #1 in the US, making System of a Down, along with the Beatles, and rappers 2Pac and DMX, the only artists to ever have two studio albums debut at #1 in the same year. Their second single off the Hypnotize album, "Lonely Day" was released in March in the United States. System of a Down released "Kill Rock 'N Roll" as their third. airplay only, single. In February of 2006, System of a Down won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance for "B.Y.O.B.", beating out other established artists such as Nine Inch Nails and Robert Plant. The band headlined Ozzfest 2006 in cities where tour founder Ozzy Osbourne opted not to appear or wasn't playing on the main stage. In May of 2006, the band announced they were going on hiatus. Daron Malakian has confirmed the break will probably last a few years, but insists that the band would not be splitting up. He told MTV, "We're not breaking up. If that was the case, we wouldn't be doing this Ozzfest. We're going to take a very long break after Ozzfest and do our own things. We've done System for over ten years, and I think it's healthy to take a rest." On July 8 at the Ozzfest, Malakian improvised the lyrics to "Lonely Day", saying "Such a lonely day, with the band/these motherfuckers I can't stand!".[11] However, later in an interview with Kerrang!, Malakian stated that he said "this" (referring to the day) rather than "these" (referring to the band). During their Ozzfest performance on July 29th in New York City, Serj altered some of the lines on "Toxicity" by singing "The Toxicity of our city, it's so shitty" (instead of "of our city" repeated) and "Disorder, disorder, we're all on a border" (instead of a third "disorder"). Also while performing in New York City Serj altered lines to Sugar saying, "I sit in my desolate room, no lights, no music, just ice cream" (instead of "just anger"). During their performance in Houston, Malakian also took a moment to say, "There's been a lot of rumors about us breaking up. Well don't fuckin' listen to them. Us four right here, we will always be System of a Down!"[citation needed] During the hiatus, Malakian, Dolmayan and Odadjian will be in a band called Scars on Broadway, and will work on its debut album in the fall. Odadjian will also be participating in the project. He will also be working on a project with RZA of Wu-Tang Clan. Tankian plans to keep recording as a solo artist/producer in "Serjical Strike", while Dolmayan, on top of Scars on Broadway, plans to open a comic book store online, which should be up online in November 2007.[12] System of a Down's final performance before their hiatus took place on August 13, 2006 in West Palm Beach, Florida. "Tonight will be the last show we play for a long time together," Malakian told the crowd during Sunday's last performance. "We'll be back. We just don't know when."[13] It was stated by Sharon Osbourne that System of a Down were paid "about $325,000 a show."[14] System of a Down's latest info is that their songs will be used in the new 2006 film "Screamers". They will also appear in the movie, in an interview talking about the importance of helping create awareness and recognition of the Armenian Genocide. "Screamers" will be hitting theaters in large city markets such as New York City, Detroit, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Fresno, Providence, and Boston. An earlier engagement will start exclusively in Los Angeles on Friday, December 8, 2006." System of a Down was honored at the USC v. Cal game at the Los Angeles Coliseum in Los Angeles, CA. The Spirit of Troy also known as the Trojan Marching Band performed three System of a Down songs. John Dolmayan and Shavo Odadjian were kind enough to play "Toxicity" along with the marching band. Tankian recently said that he has wanted to work on his "solo record for years". As for the future of the band, he said that he does not know whether System of a Down is over or not. He also stated that "maybe in a few years" the band would "want to make another album. It's impossible to tell right now. It'll be later down the line; then we'll be able to tell what might happen."[15] Bassist Shavo Odadjian was recently revealed to be directing the first video for the comeback of the hardcore punk band, Bad Brains. [16] For the 2007 Grammys, System of a Down was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Lonely Day", but lost to Wolfmother and their song "Woman". [edit] Music style and influences System of a Down's main influence is mostly from early alternative rock bands, as well as from heavy metal, punk rock, jazz fusion, Armenian folk music (Harout, Paul, Armik), classic rock, blues, industrial genres, and Middle Eastern music. The band has used a wide range of instruments, including electric mandolins, sitars, 12-string guitars and Middle Eastern ouds. They used drop C tuning exclusively in their first three albums. The latter two System albums used Drop Db tuning, except in the songs Question!, Dreaming and Attack, in which they reverted to drop C tuning. Daron has stated on several accounts that his songwriting is inspired heavily by The Beatles. Shavo's and Daron's first influences were Kiss. Shavo has also stated in a video interview at Big Day Out that he would not like to do any collaborations, because they don't want to use other people to make themselves famous. Then he quickly changed his answer and said "Mike Patton" and that they would love to do anything with him. [edit] Genre dispute There is some contention over the band's genre. They have been labeled as nu metal, which may be attributed[attribution needed] to their first album being released during the nu metal boom of the mid-to-late 90s, though they had been making music and touring before most nu metal. Columbia Records, which distributes producer Rick Rubin's American Recordings, had a part in casting the band as nu metal.[17] Brad Tolinski of Guitar World said, "These guys were grouped in with bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit, and they were able to sneak in under the wire because of those affiliations, even though they didn't sound like them... And when nu-metal got cleared away, System of a Down was still standing... They were clearly able to create their own identity and unique sound."[17] Guitarist Daron Malakian has said in a Guitar World interview that he is glad System of a Down has not slipped into the nu metal genre. During a 2005 concert, he announced, "They used to call us nü-metal, now they call us prog rock. Whatever's popular at the moment, I think that's what they'll call us."[18] In a 2005 interview with the Houston Press, Malakian said, "Lately, we've been doing interviews, and people have been like, 'You guys are really leading the way for the new prog movement,' and I'm like, 'What?' ...It's just kind of aggravating that people always have to have something to compare us to, or bunch us up with. I'm not saying we're the most original band in the world, but I don't really feel that we fall into a heavy-metal category or a pure rock category. There's a lot of stuff mixed up into one."[citation needed] Against comparisons to Rage Against the Machine, Tankian said, "Yeah, we have some political songs, but we have more that are about love and life and sex and pogo-stick orgies and all that."[17] Malakian said, "We don't belong to any one scene."System has also been described as a mixture of aggro punk, classic metal, Frank Zappa, goth, and Armenian music. System of a Down has achieved commercial success over five albums, with singles such as "Chop Suey!" and "B.Y.O.B.". System of a Down is a part of the Axis of Justice, a non-profit organization formed by band member Serj Tankian (along with Tom Morello) that is dedicated to bringing together musicians, music fans, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice. http://systemofadown.com
History
[edit] Soil (1991-1995)
The roots of System of a Down lie in the band Soil, a group from Los Angeles that included Serj Tankian on vocals and Daron Malakian on guitar, as well as Dave Hakopyan (Bassist for Apex Theory) on bass and Domingo Laranio (Local Hawaii Drummer) on drums. Shavo Odadjian joined Soil near their end as a guitarist. After three years, only one live show, and one jam session recording, the band split up.
[edit] In the beginning (1995 - 1997)
After Soil split up, Tankian and Malakian then formed a new band, System of a Down, based on a poem that Daron wrote.
Debut album (1998 - 2000)
In the summer of 1998, System of a Down released their debut album, System of a Down.
(2001 - 2003)
The group's big break arrived when their second album Toxicity debuted at #1 on the American and Canadian charts, eventually achieving multi-platinum certification.
[edit] Mezmerize/Hypnotize (2004 - 2005)
From 2004 to 2005, the group produced a double album, Mezmerize/Hypnotize with the two parts released six months apart.

Partners
********
You can make two hamsters partners. Partners have to be a female and
a male. Partners can then have babies.
To make your hamsters partners you have to have a male and a female of
the same breed (Golden and Golden or Roborovski and Roborovski.
However, a Cambell and a Dwarf can be partnered)
Go to the third icon (yellow) and then click on the third tab on the
left hand side. Cage two shows space for two hamsters. Have or move
the one you want as a partner in that cage and then move the second
one in to it. If you go back you will see that both your hamsters are
now together. In the top left hand corner (next to the menu button)
there is another icon with two hamsters. Click this and you can set
up a partnership between the two hamsters.
Making hamsters partners means that you can have babies.
Note: Once you leave this cage the hamster you moved will be returned
to its cage.
Your cousin might ask if you want your hamster to become a partner
with their hamster - it is up to you whether or not you decide to
partner them. You can also use wireless so that you and a friend can
make your hamsters partners.
Cages
*****
As you progress in the game more cages become available, although they
aren't cheap. You start off with the basic cage. You will then be
able to upgrade this and eventually have a wider, two-storey cage.
All items need to be removed when exchanging cages (make sure to check
food and water when the bowl and water bottle are placed back in the
cage)
To exchange cages you drag the object on to the image of the cage
(where it says what the item is. Note: This NOT where the layout of
the cage is)
When you upgrade your cage to a two floor you have to add the second
floor and a ladder/ramp to allow your hamster to get up there. You
can buy the floor and ladders/ramp from the shop. The floors and
ladders/ramps are separate but you can buy matching ones e.g. blue
ramp and blue floor or log ladder and log floor.
To put in a second floor you have to go on to the menu and on to the
first icon (green). You drag the floor across on to the squared area
underneath where it says second floor. You then have to move the
ladder/ramp and place it on the first floor of the cage. You might
have to move the top floor and ladder around a bit until it slots in
to place. You can then place your other items in the cage (Note: you
can have items in before you place the ladder but it is easier to put
the ladder in first and then the items. Remember that some items are
also bigger than others and may stop you placing a second floor in.)
Item List
*********
There are loads of different items and you unlock more as you play
through the game. The following shows a lot of the items you
can buy for your hamster/cage and some information on them.
Items which have different letters next to them are either colours or
to do with the item they are. E.g. yellow may just be Y or yell and
bottle may just become b.
Most of the items come in the main colours - red, blue, green and
yellow and a lot of things are in wood as well.

and one of these is chat. When you click this it takes you to a
screen showing three people. They will all talk to you when you click
on them. If you talk to them enough you will eventually become their
friend and be able to take your hamster to their houses.
Sometimes you can get tips from talking to these people. If you want
to keep talking to them you have to go back a couple of screens and
then go back to it.

All credit goes to Nicholas Jonas
Every year at Christmas
All I can see
Are pictures of the things I want
Around the tree
But this year's a little different
I'm not thinking of myself
So my prayer for this Christmas
Is for somebody else
(Chorus)
So I pray
Joy To the World
Peace for every boy and girl
Hope when life is hard
Light when everything seems dark
God I know you're listening
And you can hear
The need of every broken heart
And all their tears
I don't have a lot to offer
Just this one simple prayer
That this Christmas everyone would know
Somebody caresi¢Â€Â¦
(Chorus)
So I prayi¢Â€Â¦
Joy To the World
Peace for every boy and girl
Hope when life is hard
Light when everything seems dark
I pray that every hungry soul
Will be filled and will be warm
That not a single, solitary child
Would suffer harm
And Lord we find their ending
As we take another view
My hope is that this Christmas prayer
Would somehow come true
I prayi¢Â€Â¦
Humanity would rise
And join with me
And together we'll sing
Joy To the World (To all the world)
Peace (Peace) for every boy and girl (for every boy and girl)
(Talking bout hope) Hope when life is hard (when life is hard)
Light when everything seems dark
I pray that (I pray) every hungry soul
Will be filled and will be warm
(Not a single child) That not a single, solitary child
Would suffer harm
And Lord we find their ending
As we take another view
My hope is that this Christmas prayer
Would somehow come true.
Joy To the World
Peace for every boy and girl (Less)

I shot it with three different cameras to capture different looks for the voyeuristic feel I was going for. I wanted to create a diegesis with the camera while still making the camera a character within the movie, so that the viewer could see a glimpse of the internal world of the character presented.
I also wanted to use the ambiguity in the characters to demonstrate different points about the perception of human behavior by and large ("lotta shit" for a 10 minute movie, I know haha).
Only problem is when I put the footage online some frames got cut and they would not render for some reason. It is only really distracting in part 1 really, and they are just single frames so it is nothing too big though- but I am still quite pissed about it. Haha, to be perfectly honest.
I know it is hard to see it given this format, but the movie has a lot of subtext and subtle nuances, both culturally in how it references where I am from (South Jersey), and the attitudes of culture in general. But if you can, try looking at this work in a closer lens than just another "schitzo movie," because as with "News to Me," there are a lot of things to see if you are able to pay close enough attention to it, particularly with the mirror scene in part 2.
Now whenever many of my fellow classmates have asked me about certain aspects of my movies in the past I have always said "oh yeah- that was done deliberately," but that for whatever reason always seems to translate to "oh yeah? Well, no he didn't! he's just saying that!"
-In this movie their were questions concerning the way that the film was shot, and in the structure of the story itself- but I would just like to assure the viewer, as I am an experimental filmmaker, everything is an experiment to see what the viewer can or cannot see.
All that lofty dialouge being said, thank you very much and I hope you enjoy it. (Less)

I apoligize for that. But some of the "Unclean Cuts" I did on purpose. I just made this since Air is mostly about 4 different girls all with sad stories on my opinion, and the song isn't very happy. I tried my first sad kinda angry music video... So I hope it came out good. But I admit this is on of my bad videoes. But... I hope you like anyways!!!

I actually am happy with the way this video turned out. The sims look different because I used new versions of my friends and me. They actually look a lot more like us (except me, but I fail at making myself haha). There's no opening sequence because I actually deleted the opening sequence file off of my computer. But oh well. I hope you like this episode as much as I do!
Oh and btw, I'm starting a mini series soon! It will probably only be about three episodes, but drama will ensue!
Thanks for watching! (Less)

And we don't have attention problems! Just the other day, for example, I went to the store and got everything I needed.
Oh you should have seen this woman there, she had to weigh around 500 lbs. She wouldn't have seem to fat if her friend was larger than a size zero.
That's one thing I never understood. How can there be a size zero? Are there negative numbers? I'm a 31. Maybe it has something to do with women actually caring if they're fat.
But let me get back on subject. I went to the store to get eggs, milk, and some kind of fruit. There's a lot of fruit out there. Have you ever seen a Sugar Apple? It tastes like sugar and looks like an odd apple. Guess that's where they got the name.
Have you ever wondered where the name of some things come from? Speaking of which, is the word garnish a different language for "useless waste"?
I don't know, I got the wrong kind of milk so I had to go back, but I decided to watch TV till I fell asleep. (Less)
