Description: FORMED IN 1996 BY KITTEN JOHNSON & SEAN SIEVER with their shared love of pop & rock, Pharmacy was formed. Kitten, well-known in music circles, put an ad in the local free paper, The San Diego (More) FORMED IN 1996 BY KITTEN JOHNSON & SEAN SIEVER with their shared love of pop & rock, Pharmacy was formed. Kitten, well-known in music circles, put an ad in the local free paper, The San Diego Reader, looking for musicans and Sean answered. Sean, too, was running ads using phrases like "...chemistry over quality..." and "alternapop" knowing that a real effective Brit-Pop band's charisma is more important that technical prowess. The former bassist for the San Diego bands Uninvited Guest, Radioactive Lactate, Nutopia and Ashbury Queen, Sean had a lot of music history and networking. Plus, working at Carvin (a guitar and electronics manufacturer) for 10 years didn't hurt. He was an experienced bassist, published journalist and songwriter. Next came Nick Peters on drums. A metronomic monster that played for the song (very much like his main influence, Ringo Starr), singer, actor and friend of Sean's who also was a Beatles/Motown/Pop music lover as well... Last to join was guitarist/songwriter Scott Samuels. The band practiced for a few months but with disagreements amongst band members and Pharmacy had dissolved. Sean and Nick went on to play with Arigon Starr (with Sean on bass, helping arrange and engineer her first album). Sean also built up a relationship in the Badfinger circles and had the opportunity to supply materials for the Badfinger biography and perform interviews with former band members and perform as a backing musician to restorative recordings of their two key songwriters Pete Ham & Tom Evans. Kitten and Scott went on to form "Kitten's Pharmacy." For 4 years, Kitten's Pharmacy were opening for such acts as Third Eye Blind, Bow Wow Wow, D Generation, & Steve Wynn also putting out a CD with some radio airplay for their wonderful cover of "Fox on the Run." In late 1999, Kitten's Pharmacy broke-up once and for all. Through the years, Kitten promoted other bands and did a lot of bookings, Sean focused on a family with his Japanese wife and two daughters. As Sean & Kitten reconnected, having healed the wounds of a deep misunderstanding ages ago, it was decided it was time to put The Original Pharmacy back on track with a spirit of co-operation, cohesiveness and commonality that wasn't present in Kitten's Pharmacy. Kitten's Pharmacy guitarist and vocalist Franc Alonzo is back on board too! Franc brings a great voice, presence and songs along too.
