The act achieved its greatest fame in the late 1970s and early-to-mid 1980s, and used a unique variety of ballad-oriented pop-blue eyed soul (occasionally mixed with dance and rock influences) to dominate the charts. The partnership is the most successful chart duo in the history of American recorded music. The videoclip "Family Man" goes for a conceptual affair. Shot mainly in a set that resembles a living room, it mostly shows the band as they lip-synch, but it also includes shots of kids as they pester H&O, and we also watch some shots of a family with matching pompadours. Inserted on top of this, we discern the romantic pursuits of a man and a woman who both intentionally look like characters from primitive video games. Mike Oldfield's song "Family Man" reached number seven and number six in March and June of 1983, respectively. (Less)

Seriously, I feel so dumb for my mistake. But concidering that this is only my 3rd video EVER, hardly any people watch my channel. I guess it's good to get my mistakes out of the way early on in my "Youtube Career" if you will.
Anyway, welcome to America, Natalie! I hope you get to try cereal while you're here. If not...more for me, I guess.

Ferrari F-50
Chorus
Shorty you ain't gotta take 'em panties off just move it to the side
If you wanna ride on a roller coaster baby come on and ride
It goes up and down and round and round
Stand up or get on the floor
It's only night I know what you like
And I just had a break yall
Verse 1
Good Evening Ladies I tell you from the start
I'm hoping you enjoy my amusement park
There's lots of activities fun things to do
And now I find my pleasure in pleasing you
Some rides go fast some rides go slow
If your heights went up high HELL yeah I go low
It tastes so sweet let's dig in cotton candy
if we get carried away we'd be starting a family
It's a perfect time for a magic trick
Girl you know there's no fun without the magic stick
Now watch me as I pull a rabbit out a hat
Then you can use the rabbit all over your cat
Applause now it's the first half of my act
Started as a pimp now I'm more like a mack
I don't need your paper just don't f**k with my stats
(Oh it's like that?) Yeah it's like that
Chorus
Shorty you ain't gotta take 'em panties just move it to the side
If you wanna ride on a roller coaster baby come on and ride

Stand up or get on the floor
Its only night I know what you like
And I just had a break yall
Verse 2
Now you can ride the horse around the carousel
Explosions Trojans all in the hotel
Put me to the test girl I don't fail
I work it out
Without a doubt
There's plenty water rising I'm sure it'll get you wet in the pot
Have your luster's seduction considered or not
Throw a hoop around the bottle, I'll be your teddy bear
Whatever color you like you know I don't care
I really want to thank you for attending this affair
Now go encourage your friends to come have fun here
I smile when I speak put up your hands sincere
And your pass is valid all summer my dear
So watch everything that you can always return
There's so many tricks to the trade you should learn
Suck that, Lick that, Swallow that lollipop
Forget that, Brick that, Ride it non-stop
Chorus
Shorty you ain't gotta take 'em panties off just move it to the side
If you wanna ride on a roller coaster baby come on and ride
It goes up and down and round and round

And When Did You Last See Your Father? (2007)
And When Did You Last See Your Father? is Blake Morrison's moving and candid memoir of his father in the weeks leading up to his death. When Arthur Morrison was diagnosed with terminal cancer he had only a few weeks left to live. Morrison traveled to Yorkshire to stay with his mother in the village where he grew up. He visited his father at the hospital where he had spent so much time with his own patients as a GP. As his father's condition worsened Morrison contemplated their shared experiences, the intimacies and the irritations of their relationship. After his father's death Morrison questions the nature of the bond between them, articulately expressing the contradictions, frustrations, love and loss bound into the complicated relationships which most of us have with our parents as we grow up.
"When Did You Last See Your Father?" - Arthur Morrison (Jim Broadbent), and his wife Kim (Juliet Stevenson), are GPs in the same medical practice in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. They have two children, Gillian (Claire Skinner), and her older brother Blake (Colin Firth), from whose perspective the story is told. Blake is 40, married with two children, an established author, and having to face the fact that his father is terminally ill. The film opens during a summer bank holiday family trip in the late 1950s. Arthur hits the hard shoulder to skip a long queue of traffic at a car racing event, and eight year old Blake, and the rest of the family, are crippled with embarrassment. It's the first of many flashbacks that illustrate Arthur's bluff attitude to life and his pride in getting something for nothing. These childhood episodes also introduce Beaty (Sarah Lancashire) and her daughter, Josie. It soon becomes clear that Beaty and Arthur are more than just friends and that Josie is potentially Arthur's child. Adult Blake strives to find out the truth about Josie, and in doing so uncovers the interesting parameters of his father's marriage. The essence of this father and son relationship is further expressed through flashbacks to Blake's teens - a family holiday, a fumbled affair with the au pair - where the awkward and introverted Blake is constantly crushed by his father's flirtatious ways and need to be the centre of attention. There are happy and tender memories too; of Arthur teaching Blake to drive, a camping trip in the rain, and Arthur saying goodbye to Blake as he leaves for university. In the present it becomes clear that Arthur still dominates his grown-up son, a dynamic to which Blake is resigned much to his wife, Kathy's (Gina McKee) annoyance. But when he and his family confront the reality of Arthur's cancer, Blake is forced to reconcile himself with the past. Blake's recollections are interspersed with heart-rending and often uncompromising scenes of Arthur's decline and submission to the disease that is killing him. It is ironic that Arthur's battle with his failing health is paralleled by Blake's struggle to come to terms with their relationship but there's a human inevitability here we can all identify with. It is only after Arthur's death; only when the tears come, that Blake is finally able to make peace with his memories.

Happy thanksgiving!
----------------
From the department of awkward timing: Days after video of Sarah Palin's interview in front of slaughtered turkeys became a web sensation, the conservative group Our Country Deserves Better releases a Thanksgiving-themed ad "thanking" Palin.
The opening of the spot features an announcer praising Palin...in front of images of roasted turkeys.
Some text from the email announcing the advertisement:
Friends, too many times we've seen politicians who "sell out" to the media or political pressure and succumb to politically correct, liberal positions, rather than fight for conservative beliefs. But Gov. Sarah Palin has stood steadfast by her conservatism, both in public as a politician, and in her own private life - carrying to full term her baby boy, Trig, rather than opting out for an abortion as some would have had her done. She believed in the value of that life, just as she believes in the greatness of America.
It's time for us to stand behind Sarah Palin now, not just to support her, but to also show other politicians that if they take the risk to champion conservative ideals, that they will find support from we, the American people.

It would be hard to find a more striking contrast of presidential behavior than what transpired in the course of just a few minutes on cable news early Wednesday. As Barack Obama spoke to reporters in Chicago about the grave concerns and frustrations that the economic crisis portends, George W. Bush was making turkey and dog jokes on the White House lawn.
If one hadn't the faintest clue about the American political process, it would be downright confusing to be told that the latter individual was officially in charge. But this is the status of the White House transition: the public is forced to watch as the man without the certified power sounds competent and concerned while the one controlling the levers does a decent imitation of Nero.
In one particularly poignant ten-minute moment, the camera went from Obama accusing leaders in Washington of failing to provide "bold clear decisive steps to deal with our economic problems" to Bush discussing the pardoning of his "feathered friends."
"Just to be safe," said the outgoing president, "I will be pardoning a second bird in the unlikely event the main act chickens out..." Get it? ... "Turkeys are not only the ones on edge this morning. You see, it turns out the Rose Garden is Barney's turf. So the press corps is a little nervous as well." The latter line was a reference to the president's dog recently biting a reporter from Reuters.
"This is an election year, so it is fitting that the names of these two birds were chosen through the Democratic process," Bush went on. "After a long, drawn out election season, the people finally spoke. The name of the ticket sent here to the White House was Pumpkin and Pecan. Pumpkin is right there. Pecan is in an undisclosed location."
It is a Thanksgiving tradition for the president to pardon a turkey. So Bush is excused on that front. And certainly, the hospitalization of his mother was weighing on his mind (he gave thanks for the fact that she was "doing well.") But contrast the geniality of the White House affair to the generally serious and occasionally dire tone that marked Obama's event, in which he announced the formation of an Economic Recovery Adviser board headed by former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker.
"I think [having a third press conference in three days] speaks to is the frustration of eight years in which middle class wages have gone down, or in real terms their family incomes have been reduced," said the president-elect. "It speaks to my frustration about all the families I've met over the last two years that have lost their health insurance or their pensions are in danger, young people who can't afford to go to college. It expresses frustration about our inability to tackle some of the long-term problems that we've been facing and have been talking about for decades, whether it's health care, energy, an education system that's been slipping behind in critical areas like math or science. And most of all, I think frustration with the incapacity of Washington to take bold, clear, decisive steps to deal with our economic problems."

All right, you follow the news. You know the story. This is a family oriented YouTube account...
As the news continued to unfold, it started to read like a bad plot for a "B" movie or a harlequin novel. In New York, even Governor Spitzer's more ardent enemies were in disbelief when the story broke and passed off the initial reports as a bad practical joke.
For those of us who simply dread winter, spring can't come soon enough. For those of us who are old enough to understand that good times and bad times are cyclical; perhaps some sunshine, spring flowers, the end of the current Maryland General Assembly session, and some resolution on the many pressing challenges facing our local, and national government will brighten our outlook.
Of course, recently a study was released that folks with a positive outlook live longer and healthier lives, so the other day I endeavored to adopt a "cheer up, things could be worse attitude."
I cheered up and sure enough -- things got worse...
Locally, county and municipalities are grappling with how to fund all the goods and services of which local citizens are demanding with the reality that tax revenues are declining.
Revenues for local government are declining as the cost to operate government continues to escalate and it is starting to sink-in that the Maryland legislature increased taxes last fall yet cut back on the amount of money flowing into the coffers of local government.
Juxtapose this with the fact that Governor Spitzer, a multi-billionaire, threw away as much as $80,000 on his extra-curricular activities. Just think of how much a difference that kind of money would've made in our local community?
Governor Spitzer mercifully resigned on March 12 and ended a sensational 48 hours of salacious melodrama of position, power, greed, and human failings. It has probably ended the career that was considered so bright that his name was being bantered about as a 2012 or 2016 presidential candidate.
There are many lessons to be learned by this sad, sordid saga.

Jess is beside herself—Severus has taken her daughter, her life. She rages at Dumbledore—why didn't he do anything? Dumbledore said it was how it was supposed to be. She tells Dumbledore "I'm getting her back." And then Dumbledore reveals a part of the prophecy Trelawney told, a part he hadn't divulged to Jess yet—one of the family is going to die in the struggle. Jess doesn't care—she's had enough of him. And she storms off in search of her daughter.
It's difficult. She's terrified for Hermione, she can't stand the thought of her being hurt—or worse, dead. She pushes on, determined to save her daughter. As long as she has a say in it, Hermione won't be the one to die. Jess won't let it happen.
Hermione, meanwhile, is in a state of defeat. She's being kept, she doesn't know where (it doesn't really matter anyway), prisoner. Her own father brought her into the Dark Lord's hands, like a lamb brought up to be sacrificed.
Meanwhile, Jess has been captured—Severus found her looking for Hermione nearby...
Severus comes to Hermione, and the smile on his face makes her blood run cold. He tells her they have Jess—she wandered right into their waiting arms. "Perhaps I can break her again—she's so delicate." (I don't put that in the vid, but he says something taunting like that.) Hermione curses him in rage and he calmly walks away.
Now Hermione has a purpose, and she won't lie in defeat any longer. Jess, Jess is her mother. She was brutally raped by Severus—Hermione won't let it happen again. She won't let a Dark Lord who's probably even worse than her father take over. She has a set path before her, a determination that can't be broken. Hermione is ready.
She escapes the prison—she has to save Jess, first and foremost. She finds where Jess is, she follows the sound of a struggle. She is able to see what's going on—Severus is seriously harassing Jess, who's obviously in a terror, reliving her nightmare all over again. Hermione throws a stone to get their (mainly Severus's) attention. Jess has a feeling who threw it, and Severus walks over to where the stone came from, and Hermione steps out so he can clearly see her. There is a tense moment, and then she punches him (WOOHOO!), then grabs Jess and her wand from Severus, and they try to find a way to escape.
But something happens to halt their escape—they meet him—Voldemort. Jess is terrified, but Hermione knows what she must do. Voldemort knows who Hermione is, and he's delighted—what can a simple, fifteen year old girl do to *him?* But he can't begin to imagine the strength Hermione has developed over the years; everything that's happened to her has made her strong.
Many things then happen at once. Voldemort shoots the Killing Curse at Hermione—it bounces back toward him, rebounding off a field that had built up around Hermione, (he didn't know her strength, like I said, Hermione's gotten really powerful), Severus appears, shoves Jess forward, and a shadow of the curse (idk how to explain that...just like I guess, a part of the killing curse) hits her.
Hermione is horrified. Severus is content—Voldemort might be dead, but he's gotten some satisfaction out of the whole affair now. He flees.
Hermione is distraught. No—not her, not her mother, not her best friend, not Jess. She falls to Jess's side, crying, distraught. The curse didn't hit Jess full on, but it's still having an effect. It's very clear that Jess is dying.
Is it too late for her? Was she the one who was destined to die?

The movie works thanks to the charm of its leads and the writer and director Jay Jonroy's observations about Jewish and Muslim family life." - Matt Zoller Seitz, The New York Times. ++++ Inspired by a true story, a Romeo & Juliet comedy about the sparks that fly when a Jew and a Muslim fall in love in New York. **** "While the movie evokes a comic tone, David & Layla is a plea for world peace; an optimistic cri de coeur. The music is splendid." - Harvey Karten, Film Journal International. **** "Take the star-crossed romance of Romeo & Juliet, add some graphic sexual humor a la The 40-Year-Old Virgin and toss into the crucible of Middle East politics, and you get David & Layla, a frothy romantic comedy. Every scene Callie Thorne is in crackles with unhinged hilarity. David & Layla is suffused with the warmth and passion of the filmmaker Jay Jonroy." - Ann Hornaday, The Washington Post. **** "It's hard not to be infected by the good humor and sheer joie de vivre of 'David & Layla'." - Ella Taylor, LA Weekly. **** "An earnest, frequently funny comedy. Shiva Rose (Layla) excels as a self-reliant damsel in distress worth rooting for." - Lisa Nesselson, VARIETY. **** "David & Layla manages to be both randy and chaste. Packed with meals, music and religious ideas. The climactic celebration sequence is a high point. Displays an unusual grasp of complex political issues. It's an offbeat cross-cultural romance with a positive message." - Michael Ordoña, The Los Angeles Times. **** "A superior variation on My Big Fat Greek Wedding, with unexpected insights." - Joe Baltake, Independent Film Critic. **** "This indie New York comedy ultimately seduces us with a steady assault of goodwill, bad jokes, goofy charm and buoyant music into buying a love affair between Brooklyn Jew and a Kurdish Muslim. It becomes contagious." - Michael Fox, Washington Jewish Week. **** "David & Layla provides loving insights into the joys and sufferings of the Kurdish people. Writer/director Jay Jonroy has done a fine job." -Tom Tugend, Jerusalem Journal. **** "A bold, politically relevant film against impossible odds." - Harold Pinter, 2005 Nobel Laureate, Academy Award nominee, London Playwright. **** "Let's call for a ceasefire in the hostilities in the Middle East, require all combatants to take a 108-minute break and watch this movie. A perfect companion piece to the Oscar-winning short film 'West Bank Story.' Jonroy shows that laughter has a way of opening the mind to an appreciation of cultural differences and developing an understanding of basic human rights. David Moscow has the physical comedy shtick down pat. Shiva Rose in a breakthrough, star-making performance is the glue that holds all this together." - Keith D. Cohen, The Jewish Chronicle. **** "A cross-cultural love story. The performances are another virtue. Boyish, reedy Moscow is fresh, immensely likable and amusing, while Rose boasts classic beauty, stoic dignity and an ability to pull off her character's rare but striking angry outbursts." - Sid Smith, Chicago Tribune. **** "My big, fat, Jewish-Muslim wedding." -Tom Tugend, The Jerusalem Post. ++++ "Course of Love Runs Smooth in Film about Muslim-Jewish relations." - Judith Latham, VOA Press Conference USA. Of course, recently a study was released that folks with a positive outlook live longer and healthier lives, so the other day I endeavored to adopt a "cheer up, things could be worse attitude." I cheered up and sure enough -- things got worse... ** I've decided that I should probably explain this whole parent/sibling thing. So, here's the key factor: Dan and Keith are not related. So, Nathan and Haley are in no way related.
Brooke holds cheer practice after school, but little does she know Rachel has moved it forward; making it earlier. The two start bickering.
Back at Peyton's house, Haley sees all the bands that Peyton has gotten to play at Tric and get on her album for charity. Peyton tells Haley that she's expecting an answer from another artist, that artist being Haley.
Keith threatens Deb that if she fights him for custody of Haley then he'll tell everyone about her pill popping addiction. Deb tells Keith to go ahead, he's already ruined this family. Little do they know, Haley's listening at the doorway.
Brooke and Sam have lunch at the Café as the two get to know each other better.
Haley goes to Karen's house and tells her that she can't get her happy ending while her family gets destroyed. It's not fair. She tells Karen to stay away from her father.
Back at school, Dan finds his son Nathan and tells him what happened at home with Haley and his mother.
Nathan defends his mother, Karen which leads to a fight with Haley about the affair. Although the two had promised not to let it get in the way, Haley had been saddened over what she had heard and blamed Karen for it. Nathan tells Haley that it wasn't Karen's fault that Keith couldn't keep his hands on his own wife and leaves the house.
Lucas talks to Nathan about what's been going on and tells Nathan to back off of Haley. It's Keith and Karen's fault, not Deb's. Nathan doesn't believe what he's hearing which leads to a drift between the brothers.
Haley calls Brooke and she comes over. Brooke comforts Haley while the two talk. Brooke later calls Sam and tells him about the recent events, about Haley crying.
Sam then tells Dean and he tells Sam that Haley wouldn't want to see him.
Lucas goes to visit Peyton, only to find her father back from work and the two get to chatting before Peyton comes down.
Sam asks Dean for the truth about the relationship between him and Haley.
That night, Haley, sick of the fighting, heads on over to Dean and Sam's hotel room. (Less)
