The officers rarely get fired because their union - the fraternal order of police - gets em reinstated.

Andrew Cosgray (aka "Sneek") maintains innocence after police raid local hip-hop concert.
Oxford, Miss. (TLV) - Local music and art fans witnessed one of the most bizarre incidents in recent Oxford history on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at Two Stick Sushi Bar.
The show featured local rapper Charlie Dawson (aka "Stork") and disc jockey Nick Babcock (aka "Nick B."). During their performance, local artist Andrew Cosgray (aka "Sneek") painted free-form graffiti designs on canvases.
According to witnesses, soon after the concert ended several police officers entered Two Stick, and removed all of the paintings that Andrew Cosgray had been working on that night.
"Officers came in and they milled around and talked on their walkie talkies," said Two Stick night manager Adam Griffith. "Before I could ask them what was up, they walked up to the stage, took the paintings and just straight walked out."
"I was following along trying to ask them what it was about, and they just went straight out. I felt like we deserved some sort of explanation as to why they took the paintings."
The incident was captured on video tape by someone at the concert and a DVD copy was dropped off anonymously to The Local Voice office. You can now view the video for yourself at YouTube.com.
Twenty-two year old Andrew Cosgray is an Ole Miss art student living in Oxford, originally from Atlanta, Georgia. He is better know as accomplished graffiti artist "Sneek." Cosgray has worked with nationally known rap groups (The Dungeon Family, Binary Star, Jurassic Five) and a some festivals and has been paid to do several murals over his career.
Oxford Police are investigating spray paint graffiti which has been popping up all over the city over the last year, including the the Square, West Jackson Avenue and the Oxford Skatepark.
Andrew Cosgray says he is innocent and that he has not done any illegal artwork in Oxford. In fact, Cosgray says someone else is copying his signature and my be attempting to frame him.
"I do traditional graffiti art, but keep it legal by doing it on canvases and murals from which I am paid to do." Cosgray explained. "Apparently some kids are going around town and copying my signature. I spell by name 'S-N-E-E-K' but these tags are written 'S-N-E-A-K.' Its not me doing that."
Police confiscated Cosgray's artwork after the live demonstration and escorted him to the station, where he was interrogated for an hour or so. Cosgray says that he cooperated willingly with Oxford Police and will continue to do so because he wants to clear his name.
"I've been making art for many years and have made a name for myself and getting paid for doing legitimate murals." said Cosgray. "Why would I want to ruin my reputation by going around town spray painting amateurish graffiti? This town is too small to do that."
"I think there is another kid just getting into art and learning." Cosgray said. "I can tell he's new by how bad his tags are."
Cosgray hopes the police will get to the bottom of the mystery.

Thanks for talking with me on Tuesday, I do understand that with this situations (4 homes built on a landfill) you are between a rock-and-a-hard place (it is a tough and unfortunate place to be).
Why is the Borough and their lawyers acknowledgement so important?
Because...
1) If they allowed 202 to build a new home on the lot prior to fixing all lots, it would have definitely made 204 & 206 totally worthless (i.e., non-buildable).
2) 204 would have remained a vacant house and the property without real ownership.
3) If acknowledgement would have happened back in 1997 (?) when the bank foreclosed on 204, the property would not have sat empty for 10 years and in 2000 208 would have never been bought by the Investor who poured a ton of concrete in the basement (too bad in less than a year foundation started to crack again). And, in 2002 when I found the State Agency that would buy my house from me (for $160,000) if the Borough would take ownership (talk to [the other Boro lawyer]!).
Remember in 2000 Valley Forge LABs, the geotech engineers who drilled 2-28ft holes and present ~30 page report, strongly recommended to NOT build on the lot.
a) all four properties would need to be fixed together (prior to any consideration of building).

Just a couple of things, the US did not become hated in the world as a result of the Iraq War. The US became universally hated as a result of the bombing of Serbia. Then Russia went wild.
And when the US bombed the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, China also participated in this, this is the beginning of a lot of that hatred. The American media never put that picture together, I've tried to do it. So we see that 9/11 is the result of a kind of an escalation, and the superpower tensions connected to 9/11, it seems to me, are closely related to the process that builds up. And that's also what this Namakon source says.

WT: This was a big deal. This killed 10 times more people than 9/11, and it's all based on fraud... the genocide against the Albanians or Kosovars never occurred. It never occurred. They bombed the bridges on the Danube and cut ship traffic on the most important waterway in Eastern and Central Europe. WT: The outcome is that there's a NATO peacekeeping force. This is also important because you can see how it reaches up into the present day. In 1999 NATO bombed Serbia. It's the first time NATO ever went to war as an alliance. And it had to do with Madeleine Albright, who made this possible.
In the year 2000 they're able to kidnap Milosevic, illegally, in flagrant violation of Serbian law, and drag him to this kangaroo court in the Hague. Now, obviously, this person, he's a villain and I tried to organize against him as much as I could when he was actually carrying out genocide campaigns in Croatia and in Bosnia, so I have no love for Milosevic. But the kind of illegal actions that were taken is an overwhelmingly bad idea.
And then in 2001, you get the classic CIA 'people power' revolution in Belgrade. And that worked so well that the experts, the cadre of case officers who carried out the people power revolution in Belgrade, have now gone on to Georgia, to Ukraine, to Beirut and so forth.
And how do they do this? It's a media spectacle, what you do is you go into the Capitol, say Belgrade, you put up some tents, you get large amounts of narcotics, you allow orgies to take place in the tents, you get a lot of booze and you get some consumer goods, the money comes from the National Endowment for Democracy, project democracy, the thing that Oliver North worked for.

Operation Nautilus II had been running for more than a month in its second phase this summer, coordinated by the EU's border control agency.
"We can confirm that Nautilus II stopped last Sunday as planned," a European Commission source told The Times yesterday. "We believe the illegal migration 'season' is almost over and, thus, there is no need for this mission to continue, at least for this year."
The patrols were conducted over a four-month period divided into two phases. The Sicily-Malta-Libya strait was first patrolled for the full month of July. After a controversial pause in August, the mission resumed on September 10, 2007.
Apart from the Armed Forces of Malta, the mission also attracted the participation of naval and aerial assets from France, Germany, Portugal, Greece and Spain, although at different levels.
During the first phase, Italy had sent a small aircraft as a token participation. However, following a change of heart, it had decided to boost its participation in the second part of the mission by dispatching patrol boats and a frigate.
Commission sources said that although it was too early to draw any conclusions on the results of Nautilus II, the first indications were positive for Malta as fewer illegal immigrants arrived on the island in the course of the mission.
In the two phases, between July 1-31 and September 10 to October 14, 2007, a total of 579 illegal immigrants landed in Malta. This was 347 fewer than in the same period last year when a total of 926 immigrants ended up on Maltese shores.
According to European Justice Commissioner Franco Frattini, during the first phase of Nautilus II, over 700 illegal immigrants were intercepted in the Mediterranean and turned back to their point of departure.
The sources said this year's main setback has again been the non-participation of Libya despite being invited to join.
Some 80 per cent of all costs incurred by the AFM for this mission will come from the EU budget. It is expected that Malta will be reimbursed €1 million (Lm429,300) in connection this year's mission.
The Commission has pledged that the patrols will be conducted on a permanent basis as from the beginning of next year.

The workers gathered in Tel Aviv to protest for their rights. They claim that the Israeli authoritys' decision to deport them is unjust and they have all the necessary work permits.
[Chinese Worker]:
"This is my second stay in Israel. I have been here 4 years all together. According to the last government policy I was allowed to stay 63 months but since then the policy changed and now they demand that I leave".
Another worker facing deportation says that the Israeli Ministry of Interior claims to have records of three people with a similar name to his. He says they also claim that he has visited Israel in the past while he claims he didn't.
Gershon Gelman, director of Tel Aviv's Federation of Laborers came to help. He does not agree with the government's decision to deport the workers, and raised some disturbing questions.

"Here I come to present and assist a big group of Chinese construction workers who came legally to Israel and unfortunately after 14 or 16 months the government decides they have to go back home because they were in Israel 6 years ago for only two years. So my question is why do we invite them to come work here again if they have to go back after one year."
Some Chinese workers report spending between 10 -- 25 thousand dollars for the Israeli work permit. Many took bank loans or even mortgaged their houses to afford it. Now, they are afraid to return to China empty handed without the financial means to cover the loan.
The Israeli Ministry of Industry estimates that between 1995-2004 30,000 Chinese workers entered Israel legally while 24.5 thousand left.
