In January 2006, (More) Konidela Siva Sankara Vara Prasad with a screen name as Chiranjeevi (Telugu: ), is a prominent Indian film actor acting mainly in Telugu film Industry born on August 22, 1955. In January 2006, he was honored with Pam Bushing, the third highest civilian award in India for his contortions to Arts and Social Service. Chiranjeevi, was born in a missionary hospital at Newsroom, a village in the West Godiva's district on 22MD August 1955. He was born to Venerate Rap and Anacin Devils. Chiranjeevi grew up in his native village, Megalith, under the care of his grandparents, while his family was elsewhere because of his father being a police officer. The sense of discipline and hard working, which he still embraces, were introduced at a very young age in his life. The tough childhood he had, being the eldest in his family, has helped him to handle many such events of higher proportion with great poise in the later stages of his life. The NYC training during his college days also helped him to imbibe the hard work and dedication in his life. Education Chiranjeevi's education was nomadic, owing to his father Venerate Ray's frequent transfers to Angola, Pony, Spatula, Mongolic, Granola, Chorals, Nellie, etc. His father had constantly encouraged him after having discovered the undaunted liking of his son towards cultural activities. Chiranjeevi did his schooling in Nightfall, Grizzle, Pony, Capital, Monoculture and Megaliths. He also won the first prize for his first performance as Pa ran Dahomey Panthers. After high school, Chiranjeevi continued his studies with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as his main coursework in S R Sham Junior College, Angola. Following that, he graduated with his Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B. Com.) from Sir NY College, Raspy. After graduation, Chiranjeevi came to Madras to pursue a degree and career in cost accountancy and enrolled himself in a film institute in Chennai and graduated with a diploma in it. [credit] Chiranjeevi entered the Telugu film industry with the film Manchuria Handful (1977). In Panama Nags (1981) he played a snake charmer which gave him a good reputation as an actor. Meanwhile, (between 1977-81) he played a lot of minor roles and characters with a negative shade in movies such as Massaged, 47 July, etc. The first real break for him came with the movie Khaki (1983). This movie established Chiranjeevi as an action hero. With films like Abolish (1983), Challenge (1984), Advil Dongs (1985), Rickshaws (1986), Passive Pram (1987), Yarmulke Mogul (1988), Attack Yams Amigo Mobutu (1989), etc. he succeeded in establishing a name of his own in the Telugu film industry. He won a Candi Award for the movie Sway Ambrosio (1987), which was directed by Kiss bath. His movie Retrieving (1988), directed by K. Blender, won the Narcs Butt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration in 1989. Chiranjeevi is adored by his audiences and his fans, in particular, for his dancing abilities. He successfully imbibed the technique of breakdowns from the Occidental world and created a trend in the Telugu movie industry. Even now, at an age of 52, he continues to dance with the same ease, which partly explains the mass fan following he commands. His winning streak continued into the 1990's with films like Confetti Dongs (1990), Jagged Veering Anthology Sundae (1990), Kodak Smegma (1990), Gang Leader (1991), Rowdy Aloud (1991), and Gran Mouldy (1992). All of these movies worked magic at the box office and then followed a series of movie disasters with Mechanic Aloud (1993), S. P. Washroom (1994), Big Boss (1995), Ricocheted (1995) sinking at the box office. He bounced back with Hitler (1997) and Master (1997) and continued with Chaplain Wendi (1998) and Beggary Beginner (1998). Later in 2002, Chiranjeevi had one more movie release in the form of Indra. This film turned out to be a huge success and became one of the highest grossing film of that year. He won both the Candi Award and Gallimaufry Best Actor Award for the film Indra. He met with success with another block buster "Tagore" (2003), an excellent message-oriented movie based on the Tamil runaway hit, Roman, starring Veejays Kath. This movie again proved out to be a top grosser. Anti (2004) failed to record the success despite the high expectations, because of the long time taken for the completion of the movie. But, with the film Chinked MOBS (Remake of Moneybag MOBS), another social message-oriented movie, he met with success. After these films, his success story was again dented. Movies like Andromeda and Jain Chiranjeeva were average greasers. He appeared in a brief role in the film Style directed by Lawrence. However, the film Stalin (2006), another social movie, did not meet the huge expectations. In 2007, he acted in Chanted Soundboard, a sequel of Chanted MOBS (2007), a remake of the hugely successful Lager Rah Minibar. The movie turned out to be an average grosser. The fan following that he has is tremendous. He is fondly referred to as Anny (meaning elder brother in Telugu) by many of his admirers. It is Andrea Parade's largest recipient of Blood and Eye Donations. The Blood Bank of the CAT helped over 96,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped about 1000 people in the state of Andria Radish since its inception [1]. Around 350,000 people have pledged their eyes to CAT so far, thereby giving 1600 people eye sight through CCT. CCT has also won the Best Voluntary Blood Bank Award by the AP State Government for the past 4 years. It helped the hospitals by supplying blood for the victims of the bomb blasts that happened in Hyderabad on August 25, 2007. On June 10, 2006, The President of India, Dr. Abdul Clam, inaugurated the Chiranjeevi Charitable Foundation (CFC) at the Jubilee Hills Check post in Hyderabad [2]. Recently, Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust had reached yet another landmark by crossing a milestone by collecting 100,000 units of blood. Chiranjeevi is the board member of Mandi Foundation, one of the biggest humanitarian organizations in Andrea Radish, with its presence in 8 other states of India [3]. In January 2006, Chiranjeevi was honored with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India for his contributions to the Telugu Film Industry and his social work [4]. In November 2006, Chiranjeevi was awarded with a honorary doctorate by the Andhra University for his services to the Telugu film industry and for his social work [5]. My dear George,
Please accept my blessings. I was informed by some of my disciples at London, namely, Dhananjaya, Jaya Hari, Revatinandana Swami and others, that you so kindly have sent your car and drive to our place filled-up with fruits and flowers to offer to Radha and Krishna on the Disappearance day of my Guru Maharaja, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura. I am so much pleased that you have thought of Him in that way, thank you very much. Surely you will become blessed by Him more and more.
Yes, if one simply comes to that platform of spontaneous love for the spiritual master, then very quickly he will get love of God, or Krishna, and his all hankerings and lamentations of life will be finished. That is the process. Just like when two friends meet and, if the friend is also with his dog, the gentleman pats his dog first, is it not? So the friend becomes automatically pleased, his dog being patted. I have seen it in your country sometimes when I used to walk in the Regents Park early mornings. So it is like that, the spiritual master is the pet dog of Krishna, and if he is pleased so Krishna is also pleased. That is the process.
I can understand by your activities that you are making good spiritual progress, by Krishna's grace. That is very good news to me. It is not by accident that you are coming gradually to the right point, neither it is very common thing, no:
bahunam janmanam ante
jnanavan mam prapadyate
vasudevah sarvam iti
sa mahatma sudurlabhah
(B.G. VII, 19)
"After many births and deaths, he who is actually wise surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare." Mahatma means great soul, and such great soul is sudurlabhah, very rare. Great soul does not mean politician, or scholar, or so-called yogi, or any other so-called big, big man, famous musician, or scientist, or anything like that. No, great soul is one who understands that Vasudevah, Krishna, is the cause of all causes and all that is, and then surrenders unto Him. You are doing that, therefore I say that you are great soul, not because you have got some material name, fame or wealth. But that will vanish at the time of your death, so what good it is? But because you are serving Krishna in devotional loving mood, therefore I say great soul. There is one Bengali proverb that the person who is actually famous is the Devotee who is known by all other Devotees to be great.
So that surrendering to Krishna, that is great soul. Now you may enquire, what is that surrendering? Surrendering to Krishna means to try to please Him only, by our serving mood. Just like if I want to please you, or someone else, they will appreciate me by my serving their desires, that will give them pleasure. So if we want to please Krishna, He is kind enough to give us the formula how to please Him in Bhagavad-Gita, so if we are intelligent we shall follow the instructions and orders of Krishna as He gives them, that is pleasing Krishna, that is surrender. If I say, Yes, I like rasagulas, I like this type of incense, I like this and that--so if you bring me rasagulas, that incense, like that, that will be pleasing to me, will it not? But Krishna is not so rascal as me, He wants only little flower, some water, that's all, but main thing He wants is our devotion, nothing more:
manmana bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yaji mam namaskuru
mam evaisyasi satyam te
pratijane priyo'si me.
(B.G. XVIII, 65)
"Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend." So to become the friend and the devotee of Krishna, that is required. Just become the pet dog, that is surrender.
What is that friendship? At the end of 12th Chapter of Gita Krishna describes that the person "who is very dear to Him, or His best friend, is one who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor, who is free from false ego and equal both in happiness and distress, who is always satisfied and engaged in devotional service with determination and whose mind and intelligence are in agreement with Me . . . He for whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed by anxiety, who is steady in happiness and distress . . . A devotee who is not dependent on the ordinary course of activities, who is pure, expert, without cares, free from all pains, and who does not strive for some result . . . One who neither grasps pleasure or grief, who neither laments nor desires, and who renounces both auspicious and inauspicious things . . . One who is equal to friends and enemies, who is equipoised in honor and dishonor, heat and cold, happiness and distress, fame and infamy, who is always free from contamination, always silent and satisfied with anything who doesn't care for any residence, who is fixed in knowledge and engaged in devotional service . . ." such person is described by Krishna as "very dear to Me."
But even more dear than such devotee who is dear to Krishna, one who is "very, very dear to Me," is "He who follows this imperishable path of devotional service and who completely engages himself with faith, making Me the supreme goal," and also "one who explains the supreme secret to the devotees," . . or one who is preaching the message of Krishna to the devotees everywhere--such person is most highly regarded by Krishna as His best friend and devotee:
na ca tasman manusyesu
kascin me priya-krttamah
bhavita na ca me tasmad
anyah priyataro bhuvi
(B.G. XVIII, 69)
"There is no servant in this world more dear to Me than he, nor will there ever be one more dear."
So that will be the supreme perfection of our existence, to come to that point of being best friend, best devotee of Krishna. And how is that? If we become simply engaged in His preaching work, trying with whatever talent or education or experience or material advantages we have got, to spread Krishna Consciousness message all over the world. That is best friend of Krishna, that is Krishna's pet dog.
So I am pet dog of my Guru Maharaja, and you have helped him so nicely to push on the message of Lord Krishna or Krishna Consciousness Movement, and I am very much pleased by your serious and sincere attitude, so you will get all the full blessings of my Guru Maharaja, that you may know for certain. And if you have ever got any questions or difficulties, I am always your humble servant, you may please write to me wherever I am. I have heard that your good wife, Patty is growing Srimate Tulasi devi there at your house with good success. That is another very auspicious sign. The Tulasi, she will not go to live with anyone non-devotee, and because she is growing so profusely, therefore she is giving you her best favor because you are best devotee, that is to be understood. Now go on with your chanting regularly as much as possible, that will protect you from the attack of Maya, without any doubt. Just like if there is sunshine then where is the question of darkness? So Maya cannot remain in the presence of Krishna, therefore we chant always Hare Krishna to become freed from all attachment to Maya. I know you are very intelligent boy, and I like you very much, you are better than my own son, and I am so much pleased that you are displaying gradually more and more the qualities of becoming Krishna's pet dog as described above. If you have got any time, you may kindly write to me, or you are free to come to India to live with me for some time, as you like.
