Glad i hågen hade man (More) Den 27:e varje månad innebär löning för många, även för dem som jobbar i P-Hus, och även mig inräknat från Essge Plast. Glad i hågen hade man tänkt medverka på en Guitar Hero 2 tillställning där det utlovades dueller av dem hårdare slagen. Dueller a'la the Final Showdown i Once Upon a Time in the West. När jag efter ett par (läs fem-sex) starköl har varit hos en kär vän och tränat inför det stundande battlet så läser jag i ett sms att det hela är inställt. Detta medför att jag börjar ta in mer rödvin än väntat och på det några (läs sju-tio, kanske fler) öl. Tar en taxi från Blå Center ner till Olle och fortsätter, fortsätter och fortsätter. Därefter är det ganska mörkt fram till att jag vaknar upp ur min überfylla av att jag blivit utslängd från Heaven & Hell. Heaven & Hell som vilket i ordningen var det tredje stället jag blivit utslängd från samma kväll. Kommer hem c:a 05.00 efter en bilfärd med en arbetskollega förbi raggarn för att hinna köpa ett exemplar av Hockey VM-bilagan. Vaknar lördagmorgon av att solen stekt i mitt ansikte och min redan varma lägenhet var då som en ångbastu. Och för er som haft era rödvins-baksmällor vet att gassande hetta är kanske inte det första man är sugen på.
Lördag bestod av fotboll, stryktips, mera fotboll och BKB match där det givetvis sattes igång redan på bänk. Därefter sedvanliga omklädningsrumsnacket med diverse vätska som inmundigades av törstiga Björnar. (Lite jobbigt att använda ordet Björnar, men hey, det är väl det vi är?) Efter en mellanlandning vid Brogränd hemma hos Erik F blev det svart igen. Jag och Bodin har efter efterforskningar lyckats betala in oss för fullpris på Olearys 01:50. Nödvändigt tycktes det vara vid tillfället, onödigt så här i efterhand. Kommer till och med ihåg att jag håller i en P2:a där inne, well, efter försök att komma med på nån efterfest i min matrialar outfit slutar det hela i att jag inser att jag tror mig ha tappat mina lägenhetsnycklar. En taxiresa senare hamnar jag återigen på Brogränd och frågar om jag kan få sova med Erik F och dennes flickvän. Efter några om men inte så många men fick jag sova på Färnas soffa. Inser då att jag har mina nycklar hängandes runt min hals, lol?
Valborg vankades efter dessa två underbara kvällar och det roliga var inte slut ännu. Efter en, nåja, hyffsad buffé hemma hos Färna så börjades eftermiddagen med öl. Trögstartat, uppförsbacke, kalla det vad ni vill, men l i t e omotiverat hängde den fyllan över oss tappra jävlar som ändå lyckades bli wasted. En kvarting whiskey kan komma till hjälp många gånger, så även ikväll. Nicke P som trotsade den vanliga krogsvängen följde med mig på G:a Teatern för att kolla på, vad jag kallade gruppen, det tyngsta coverbandet som spelar Maiden låtar. Ett folktomt G:a Teatern mötte oss och vi bestämde oss för att kolla på förbandet, därefter en sväng i baren. Några sexor Fernet, Razz och ett par öl senare slår den mörka sidan till igen och det hela slutar med fjortisfyllan med stort F för Matrialarn. Jag ville inte ens se bandet jag hade betalat in oss för att se utan vi hamnar, efter återberättelse, på News där ölen skummade och ropen skrålade likt irländare på S.t Patricks Day. Lite kiss i en hand, en spark på ett redan ont knä och några fjortistårar senare blev lite av avrundningen för många av oss tappra själar som var ut. En efterfest hamnade man iaf på och efter att ha gått från gamla bowlinghallen släntrade man in lite lätt i lägenheten vid 07.30 snåret för att där finna en tjej som ligger och sover. Jag hade tydligen lämnat mina nycklar till denna tjej som hade gått hem till mig. End of story? Ja, ni vet väl resten...

Let's face it: Rock 'n' Roll is in a pretty sad state at the moment. The scene is dominated by overly emotional indie tripe that is so weighed down by its mixed metaphors that it can barely breathe.
Guyz Nite is here to save the day. Hailed by many as "the ultimate post-punk take on the cock-rock myth," these fellas bring Rock back to the halcyon days with catchy-as-all-Hell tunes, soaring guitars, macho swagger, and lyrics that dont take themselves too seriously. In fact, these dudes arent really serious at all, which is surprising considering how talented they are.
In the spring of 2005, Lead Front man Guy Manley, Lead Rhythm Guitarist Bear Woods, and Lead Bassist Gunz "Mick" Bones, fueled by their dissatisfaction with the Rock scene surrounding them, decided to form a band that not only hailed back to the salad days of David Lee Roth and Steve Perry, but truly meant something to them personally. "To Hell with metaphor," said Manley at the band's first sit-down. "I wanna write about what I know. Like beer, for example. And boobs, maybe. Having to piss. Stuff that me and my bros talk about all the time, but dont seem to get much credence in Rock anymore. Maybe we could even write a song about that guy, over there." It turned out that That Guy happened to be the future Lead Drummer of Guyz Nite, Tony Alpine, who was born with drumsticks and a kick pedal in his mouth. Finally, with the addition of Lead Lead Guitarist Dwayne Reede's searing licks and solos, the Guyz were ready to make an album and take their rock to the world.
As the name implies, Guyz Nite is about all things dude. They've been described as mantastic, brotacular, and totally frikkin' awesome. But it's important to remember that songs like Beer & Boobs and Your Mom are not ironic: Guyz Nite doesn't feel the need to hide behind irony like many other indie bands out there today. There's a truth and honesty to each of their songs that makes them so hilarious. These dudes love the frat-boy-cum-arena-rocker personas they inhabit, and they arent afraid to embrace their sometimes-boorish attitudes. In Gil Got Gay, for example, Manley explores the complexities of a relationship with a friend he's just found to be gay after a drunken escapade at a local bar. He's accepting, but also weary: "Gil got gay, buy hey, it's okay." Then later, speaking to Gil directly: "I know you still respect me as a friend, and don't picture what I'm looking like naked." Truly inspired. And funny.
So, grab a slice, sit back, drink a brew, pop on some porn, and take a listen to Guyz Nite. Take them to the next kegger you go to. Quote them endlessly. Put them on your iPod and bump them while you do extreme sports. Email forwards of their MySpace page to your friends until they get pissed off at you and make you take them off your "Bored at Work" address book. Bring it to your villa in the Hamptons and go skinny-dipping with them at dusk. Just love them. And, always remember the three Bs of Guyz Nite: Beers. Bros. Babes. And Rock. (Less)

Overseas, Kaskade has been the headliner at huge festivals and events including Field Day and Park Life in Sydney, Australia, or he\'ll pop up on any given weekend at mega-clubs ranging from Carfax in Johannesburg, South Africa to Summer Dance in Manila. If there\'s a dance culture alive and well in this world, Kaskade has likely been there, and he\'s likely scheduled to go there again soon. Kaskade\'s explosion onto the dance music scene and subsequent rise to top-tier status is not without significance. As Tricia Romano of the Village Voice observed, \"In dance music no one ever seems to graduate or ever get promoted, which means that the ability for new DJs and producers to break in the upper ranks is incredibly hard. In the opening track of Love Mysterious, \"Stars Align,\" Kaskade addresses the veritable sea of success he\'s been sailing with relative ease and without obstacle: \"It represents how I feel about my career and the way things have been going for me. I didn\'t consciously write it to express this point, but listening back to the record, I definitely associate this track with my life. It\'s about how everything has just lined up and somehow, has seemed to work out. I\'m not it in for the scene.\' I don\'t wear shiny sequin shirts and I don\'t usually hang out in clubs unless I\'m going for a specific reason.\" With his relaxed West Coast demeanor (it\'s not uncommon for him to show up to a club in flip flops), and his affable personality, Kaskade is an anomaly to the stereotypes often associated with the DJ persona. Individuality is apparent in Kaskade\'s personality, and so is the music he produces, which is consistently fresh and discernibly original. Love Mysterious lives up to this reputation and reinforces Kaskade\'s stronghold in dance music.
