It aired with the "Do the Bartman" music video, with airtime cut out for it.++++++++++Plot Homer and Bart are highly anticipating a trip to the monster truck rally featuring Truck-o-Saurus, a giant robotic dinosaur which ultimately crushes the Simpson family car. The rally's grand finale features a death-defying stunt by "the world's greatest daredevil", Lance Murdock. Despite the fact that the act leaves Murdock badly hurt and hospital-bound, Bart is enamored and dreams of becoming a daredevil. Bart quickly injures himself during his first skateboard stunt. At the hospital, Dr. Hibbert shows Bart a ward full of children who have been hurt from attempting stunts. Nonetheless, Bart is persistent and continues, jumping over a swimming pool, some animals, and Homer on his hammock. On a class trip to Springfield Gorge, Bart announces that on the coming Saturday he will jump over the gorge. Lisa talks Bart into visiting the hospital to see Murdock, hoping that the daredevil will talk him out of the dangerous stunt. Unexpectedly, however, Murdock encourages Bart to continue on his legacy. Bart plans to do it against the wishes of Homer, who insists that it is too dangerous. Even after a punishment, several orders, and a "heart-to-heart talk" with Homer, Bart still goes to the gorge and tries to jump it. He is stopped at the last second by Homer, who angrily resolves to jump the gorge himself to show Bart what it's like to see a family member needlessly risk their life for no good reason. Bart, not wanting to see his father get injured (or possibly die) on his account, recants his wish to jump the gorge, and promises he will never try to be a daredevil again. He and Homer reconcile, but Homer is still on the skateboard which rolls down and flies over the gorge by itself, with him on board. Although he becomes airborne, Homer loses momentum and plummets into the gorge. A helicopter winches Homer out, slamming him against the side of the gorge several times in the process before he is loaded into a waiting ambulance. Mere seconds after driving away, however, the ambulance crashes into a tree and the gurney carrying Homer falls out of the back, and Homer once again falls to the floor of the canyon, being hit on the head by the gurney. Homer is eventually taken to the hospital and put in the same ward as Lance Murdock, where he says "You think you've got guts? Try raising my kids!" (Less)

This episode won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming less than One Hour). This is also a clip-show.+++++++++++++++++++++Plot This non-canon[1] episode is a parody of Behind the Music, the popular VH1 biography show, even sharing the same narrator, Jim Forbes. It begins with the Simpson family history and how they got into show business. The first part of the fake documentary follows the family from their weak beginnings to their exceptional prosperity. A television show, a recording contract, a lot of awards, and countless wealth follow Homer's inadequate video "pilot". However, problems begin to arise as the Simpsons' fame continues. After a funny stunt causes him injury (the cliff plummet from "Bart the Daredevil", after a montage of Homer injury clips), Homer becomes addicted to prescription painkillers, Marge makes some senseless business investments, and Bart goes to rehab after attacking female flight attendants, being replaced on the show by Richie Rich. The IRS examines soon after and takes away their house (called "Homertime", since it belonged to rapper MC Hammer before he went bankrupt and was called "Hammertime", which Homer pounded the first m off of and the "A" into an "O" so that it read "HO MERTIME"). Then, the family gets into a big dispute and splits up at the Iowa State Fair. Fox is forced to put the show on hiatus, since none of the Simpsons will talk to each other. The members go their independent ways: Homer follows a career in the legitimate theater; Bart replaces Lorenzo Lamas as the star of the syndicated action show Renegade; Marge makes a nightclub act performing Bob Marley's song I Shot the Sheriff; and Lisa writes a tell-all book about her experiences and how Homer would slip anti-growth hormones into her cereal, entitled "Where Are My Residuals?". Bringing the family back together seems hopeless until country singer Willie Nelson puts on a phony awards show in order to reconcile the family. They hug and forget past wrongs in a sensitive reunion. Again, they look with hope to the many years of episodes of the Simpsons to come...or not. The episode ends with an epilogue, in which the narrator states, "...the future looks brighter than ever for this northern Kentucky family." (See below for analysis of this line.) Following the epilogue, we see the Simpson family in a video editing room, viewing a scene from an upcoming episode, which Homer claims will be in the last season. The scene shows the family talking about winning a trip to Delaware, and was later used as an actual scene in the episode, "Simpsons Tall Tales".[2] The final scene shows a mock teaser for an "upcoming episode" of Behind the Laughter about Huckleberry Hound. However, a confusion over whether demolitions are supposed to involve implosions or explosions results in the Casino being blasted into a huge dust cloud, with Don Rickles flying through the air with the dust. The family goes to the car wash to get rid of the dust, and when Homer is there, he sees that Ned Flanders gets a senior discount. At church, Flanders admits to Homer that he is sixty years old. He says that he follows the three "c"s of success: clean living, chewing thoroughly, and "a daily dose of vitamin Church!" However, he also has never lived impulsively, and never really had any fun in life. The rest of the town stops admiring Ned for living so well, and begins to pity him for having never truly lived at all. Ned reluctantly agrees with this and asks Homer to teach him the secret to his lust for life, leading Homer to take him on a gambling trip to Las Vegas. Homer is confident about going there, but Flanders is nervous. They see Captain Lance Murdoch (from "Bart the Daredevil") doing one of his stunts, and Homer chooses to volunteer, and survives. They wander into a casino "Nero's Palace" and begin to play roulette. Ned protests based on Deuteronomy 7 but Homer ignores the protest and takes the reference as a lucky number and they win, but immediately lose it all during a blackout. They then go to the casino's bar and get drunk, waking up the next morning in their hotel room and married to two cocktail waitresses: Homer's new wife is named Amber, and Ned's new wife is Ginger (who have video evidence of the two men marrying them while drunk). Homer and Ned try to escape from the waitresses, and go on a wild rampage through the casino to the song Viva Las Vegas, until they are confronted by casino security, Gunter and Ernst (also from "$pringfield"), Drederick Tatum, and the Moody Blues. They fail to escape the casino, and are literally forced out of the state before being told that they are not welcome in Las Vegas again. Homer and Ned head back to their real wives in Springfield by hitchhiking. Meanwhile, two vultures fly by to attack Homer and Ned, and while they are screaming, Homer tells Ned to cover his own eyes.
