Finally! Last part of chapter 4-1! I know now there's a sly "door tactic" against this boss. But I didn't know about it when I played, so...I got hit two times! The first time was because I tried to kick down the tank with A, but you can't use that button if the boss attacks you and you are prompted to push another button. Bah. And the last hit was just cruel.
Anyway, I have already finished chapter 4-2, so hopefully you'll see it here soon.
Pistol use: none
Rules and info about this knife run:
1: Knife and pistol only.
2: Pistol may only be used where the knife is useless (eg shooting down mad truck drivers or defeat Salazar).
3: No selling, buying or upgrading from the merchant.
4: No typewriter savings.
5: No continues.
6: Professional difficulty
The sound might be a bit off, but it's because I had to convert between different formats a couple of times in order to get the clips from my DVD Recorder to run on my PC and ultimately, on YouTube.
Also, I'm now using AVS Video Converter instead of Total Video Converter. There are two differences:
1: AVS leaves a water mark on every movie that pops up pretty often to tell you I'm using an unregistered version of the program. But it's small and it doesn't do much damage to the movie.
2: AVS doesn't have a trial period, meaning I can use it forever! So you better get used to that water mark! :P
I'm playing the GameCube version in PAL50. But there's no difference in speed from NTSC (US) or PAL60. The only difference is that the framerate is a little lower than NTSC and PAL60.
Important info for all American watchers! (and Japanese, too) The knife is TWICE as strong in the PAL GameCube version as it is in the NTSC GameCube version. Thanks goes to a guy nicknamed "Candyman" for helping me find this out. With other words, doing the knife run on the PAL version is much easier than on the NTSC version! (but it's still not easy, mind you) (Less) Channel: youtube

Had to use the pistol on the Zealot on the dragon statue and the two Zealots hunting Ashley with their spikey vehicle thing.
Now, the knights. Thanks very much to Atwyatt, because without watching his knight knife video I would have given up on this. Though I'm not as skilled as he is, so knifing them takes VERY long. This video is only the very beginning of chapter 4-1. Be warned.
In this video, I managed to knock the helmet off the first knight. Also, attacked the halberd knight first on purpose, there are two sword knights and one of them has a tricky move pattern; it always moves to the right, making hitting it harder.
Pistol use:
Shooting down the Zealot on the fire breathing dragon.
Shooting down the two Zealots on the spikey vehicle thing.

You have to have some luck to avoid them all, because their move pattern is completely random. The red Zealot with the ugly masks who normally operates the big gun, he is actually cheating on you. If you follow him like I do, and look at him when he's running out from the last door, he won't magically teleport inside to that square and use the gun, but instead stand there and feel disgrace for trying to cheat. If you don't look at him, he will cheat. ;) It was really hard to avoid the bow gun Zealots because normally they're firing at you as soon as you jump down there. Yeah, you guessed it. You need luck again! And the last room in this video, you need to figure out the right path to run in order to avoid confrontations at the wrong spots. The reason I didn't redo is because of my rules; I would have to restart the whole chapter once again (like two hours), so that's why I kept playing even though it went that bad. Pistol use: Shooting the two chain attachments to the bridge. Shooting the three wooden blocks in the clock tower. Rules and info about this knife run: 1: Knife and pistol only. 2: Pistol may only be used where the knife is useless (eg shooting down mad truck drivers or defeat Salazar). 3: No selling, buying or upgrading from the merchant. 4: No typewriter savings. 5: No continues. 6: Professional difficulty The sound might be a bit off, but it's because I had to convert between different formats a couple of times in order to get the clips from my DVD Recorder to run on my PC and ultimately, on YouTube. Also, taking out the red Zealot is also important because if you kill other Zealots before you finish him, more Zealots will keep coming. But if you kill the red one, no more will come! Ashley's part is quick and easy, that puzzle is also easy if you take one row at a time. I focused on getting the top row finished first, then the middle one. Of course, those knights always worries me... Pistol use: Shooting down all Zealots on the bottom floor.
