There was in my opinion too much bounce and wobble. I will try again in the near future after adjusting the hand grip and counter balance. I also think I should do more arm curls and practice my hold on the pod. I just want to get this right before I hire a model or actress to perform.
The video was shot with a Nikon Coolpix 5100 camera at 640x480 resolution 15fps and 8k audio. I am trying to raise capital to purchase a Canon XL2 to replace my stolen 3CCD camera.
When I put it in the editor, I changed the color to monochrome and adjusted the brightness and contrast. I like the grainy effect it gave (but that is lost in the upload to youtube).
The FX was just a couple of crossfades and one mosaic. I shortened the time to fit the music. I always try to get more footage than I need just to make sure I have something to work with in editing.
I was also testing a video editor that I upgraded on my P4. It is the Ulead MediaStudio version 6.52 Director's Cut. Got it on ebay for $9. It's also not a full version but has color correction with the wave form or histogram all functioning. Some of the other items from the previous versions complement this so it's as though I now have the full version.
I used to use the Ulead MediaStudio Pro version 5.2 Video Edition or the older MediaStudio 2.5 Video Edition. I enjoyed both but they were crippled in not being the full versions with color correction and the wave form or histogram.
It will be interesting to see how this setup compares to my Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD on the G4.
The edited movie was created 24 frames per second using the XVid codec sized at 320x240 24 bit color and audio at 22,050k 16 bit stereo.
The music is Adigio for Strings by Samuel Barber.
It speaks to me of lifes struggles and triumphs with higher highs and lower lows. This and the idea of Ciciphus climbing the mountain while pushing up a boulder for all eternity, sort of reminds me of my own difficulties in working with a shoestring budget. Perhaps in my case my shoestrings are always tied together. :o/ (Less) Channel: youtube

INTRODUCTION:
"Bismarck" is filmed using Silent Hunter 3 PC Game. It
tells the famous story of KMS Bismarck and a visual account of major stages in Operation Rheinubung.
THANKS:
I would like to thank the Subsim.com community and mod
makers who made and already great looking game even
better. Mods I've used are listed in the end of the movie.
CCIP Camera Mod deserves a special mention because it
allows for very nice shots that give a true sense of scale
when necessary.
PRODUCTION:
I've used SH3's mission editor to recreate every episode
shown in the movie down to the minute, in order to make it
look as accurately as possible, though of course I don't
think it's realistic to get all things correctly. The following
moments are shown:
- Leaving of Gdynia port
- Bismarck, Prinz Eugen and convoy ships and mine
sweepers off the island of Rugen
- The Great Belt and sighting of Bismarck squadron by
Swedish aircraft carrying cruiser Goetland
- Bergen fjord station
- Arctic Circle Navigation, first shots in anger at a
shadowing British cruiser
- The Battle of Denmark Strait
- The separation of Bismarck and Prinz Eugen
- Swordfish attack
- The Sinking of Bismarck
For video recording I've used Fraps 1.9D for better frame
rates (even though my machine is not very powerful, so
sometimes you get some frame rate drops - sorry..);
Adobe Premier Pro 7.0 for video editing and post
production effects; Jet Audio 6 for sound recordings.
SOUND:
I've used the music as soundtrack by Howard Shore from
the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Hans Zimmerman from
Gladiator, plus some stock game sounds.
RESEARCH
First and foremost, http://www.bismarck-class.dk/ was the
website I've used extensively for the movie. From events
listed, down to paint schemes, it was most useful. I painted
Bismarck, Prinz Eugen and Home Fleet warships myself,
in order to get them to look more close to the real life
counterparts.
HISTORY
Bismarck was meant to break into the Atlantic and raid
commerce shipping lines. She put to see on May 18th,
1941 and travelled through the Great Belt (Denmark) and
into Norway - where after being repainted (swastika signs
covered and Baltic camouflage painted over), together
with Prinz Eugen - went to the Atlantic taking the northern
route through the Denmark Strait between Iceland and
Greenland. The Home Fleet command were aware of
those plans, and after being alarmed by Swedish aircraft
carrying cruiser Goetland, the chase had begun. On May
24th, HMS Hood and HMS Prince of Wales supported by
cruisers Norfolk and Suffolk attacked Bismarck and Prinz
Eugen in the early hours and in foggy conditions. The
battle was short, and resulted in HMS Hood being blown
up by one of Bismarck's salvos, resulting in a great loss of
life and made the matter of destroying Bismarck all that
more important for the British command. Having sustained
damage in the Battle of Denmark Strait, Bismarck was
forced to let Prinz Eugen go while she tried to out manoeuvre
her pursuers. On May 26th, she received what many
consider a fatal hit, when the torpedo explosion jammed
her rudder, making her hard to steer. On the
morning of the 27th, the British battleships have caught up
and sunk Bismarck in a battle that lasted 2 hours and also
resulted in big crew losses of Bismarck. Operation
Rheinubung failed and the role of hunting down convoys
was left primarily for the U-boats.
