Description: Most people do not care to differentiate between Belief and Faith and, therefore, such messages as Have Faith in God when people do not act according to Gospel make no sense. Belief called DIN in Urdu (More) Most people do not care to differentiate between Belief and Faith and, therefore, such messages as Have Faith in God when people do not act according to Gospel make no sense. Belief called DIN in Urdu is the forerunner of Faith called EEMAN. Thus, you act according to your beliefs and your deeds generate faith in what you believe in. And if you happened to follow others without having your own beliefs, then you are a blind believer and have a blind faith as well. On the other hands those who act in accordance with the Gospel are said to be the enlightened believers and their faith is not blind. In short, the people who understand the Gospel and put It into practice believe in God and they have a Faith in God. Thus, those people who have a deep faith in God are given a greater ability to understand Gospel. The significance of Belief and Faith is well stressed by the Christ Jesus in the Parable of Sower in which Jesus or His Apostles are the Sowers of His Word, the Seed, whilst the capability of understanding His Word and transforming It into Faith is depicted by the various types or depths of soil. This Parable also outlines the characteristics of the three members of trinity or the three types of people known as hylic, the people of flesh, psychic, the clever people of spirit with doubting minds and pneumatic, the people of Holy ghost who have firm Faith in God. In Matt.13.33, these three types of people also form the three layers of flour into which the Woman, our Mother Holy Spirit, hid the Leaven of His Word to form a huge single Loaf of Bread, the Body of Jesus, the Church Body. Thus, we have in St.Luke 8.5: A Sower (Jesus and His Apostles) went out to Sow (Preach) His Seed: and as He sowed (into the hearts of people), some fell by the wayside or footpath (This type of soil represents the once-born hylic people of the flesh, who are incapable of understanding or grasping His Word because they are normally led by the natural animal instincts. Such people normally respond to child psychology and they will go by the Tit-for-Tat principle. Because they lack spirit to understand the Gospel, their deeds are governed by blind faith e.g. the widow's mite and the cheating of the simpletons by the American televangelists.); It was trodden down (Gospel being for the sensible people of spirit, the hylic people would interpret it by the very letters of Gospel which leads to misinterpretation. For example, the most pious and celibate Samaritan woman of John 4 is proclaimed by the theologians of the letters as a prostitute and Matt.19, the Parable of so-called marriage and divorce is also very much misinterpreted. This is called the treading over the Precious Pearls of Gospel.); and the fowls of air (sensible people of spirit) devoured It (picked sense out of the utterances made by the hylics and they took the Gospel to their hearts to generate faith). And Some fell down upon rocky soil (these are the twice-born people of spirit who have the ability to understand the Gospel but they lack confidence or faith in God and half-heartedly they put His Word into practice i.e. their faith in God is not firm or deep and it is rather as shallow as the rocky soil. Such persons cannot stand the testing times and, therefore, as soon as the plant of faith sprung up and faced the Prince of Darkness, it withered away (left the Way of God) because the person lacked guts, the moisture). And Some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked It (these are also the twice-born persons of Holy ghost, who understand, believe in and put into practice His Word i.e. they have full faith in God but being involved in the secular world of Mammon, the worldly temptations, the thorns, do not let them make a headway. Thus, these are the pneumatics, who go by the logic and they do not exploit the once-born simpletons but their faith in God is choked by the worldly temptations). And Other fell on good ground (these are the pneumatics, who have set themselves free of the Mammon, and thus the worldly temptations, by selling their personal possessions and renouncing the ways of secular world in order to become the Apostles or Roving Preachers in the name of Christ Jesus. Such people have pledged their lives to serve God only - Matt.4.10: Then saith Jesus unto him. Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Father thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. Also, the rich young man who wanted to be Perfect, Jesus advised him to give his property tothe poor. Thus, they receive His Word Free and in abundance and un-like the present clerics, who are the hirelings of Mammon, they Preach, and not teach, the Gospel FREE), and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundred fold (100% is the best one can attain meaning that such devoted pneumatics enter the Bridal Chamber and attain the Perfection through the gifts of Holy Spirit). Estnische SS-Freiwilligen-Division began formation. The majority of the troops were drawn from the 3. Estnische SS-Freiwilligen Brigade, however elements from Ost Battalions Nr. 658, also known as Pups of Rebane (="Fox") and Nr. 659, the 287.Polizei-Füsilier-Bataillon and the returned Estonian volunteers of the Finnish army unit Infantry Regiment 200 were also absorbed into the division. On 8 February 1944, the division was attached to SS-Gruppenführer Felix Steiner's III SS (Germanic) Panzer Corps, currently defending the heavily pressured Narva bridgehead. The division was to replace the remnants of the 9. and 10.Luftwaffe-Feld-Divisions, which were struggling to hold the line against a Soviet bridgehead near Siivertsi. Upon arriving at the front on 20 February, the Estonians were immediately ordered to eradicate the threatening Siivertsi Soviet bridgehead. In nine days of heavy fighting, the division had pushed the Soviets back across the river, and restored the line. The division remained stationed in the Ssivertsi sector, being engaged in heavy combat. In May, the division was pulled back and reformed as the 20. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (estnische Nr.1), and the returned Narwa battalion was absorbed into the division as the reconnaissance abteilung. By that time active conscription of Estonian men into the German armed forces was well under way, in violation of the international law of war. By spring 1944, approximately 32 000 men were drafted into the German forces, with the 20. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (estnische Nr.1) consisting of some 15 000 men. When Steiner ordered a withdrawal to the Tannenbergstellung on July 25, the division was deployed on the Kinderheim-höhe, the first line of defence for the new position. Over the next month, the division was engaged in heavy defensive battles on the Kinderheim and Grenadier-höhe. In mid-August, the division's 45th Estland and 46th regiments were formed into Kampfgruppe Vent and sent south to help defend the Emajogi river line, seeing heavy fighting. When Hitler authorised a full withdrawal from Estonia in mid September, all men who wished to stay to defend their homes were released from service. Many chose this offer, fighting the Soviets alongside other Estonians and then withdrawing into the forests to become the Forest Brothers. Severely weakened by this, the division was withdrawn to Neuhammer to be refitted. Vistula-Oder Offensive - Final battles Eventually, the reformed division numbered roughly 11,000 Estonians and 2,500 Germans. It was returned to the line in late February, just in time for the Soviet Vistula-Oder Offensive. This offensive forced the German forces back behind the Oder and Neisse rivers. The division was pushed back to the Neisse, taking heavy casualties. The division was then trapped with the XI. Armeekorps in the Oberglogau - Falkenberg - Friedberg area. On 17 March, the division launched a major escape attempt, but despite making headway, the attempt failed. On 19 March, the division tried again, this time succeeding but leaving all heavy weapons and equipment behind in the pocket. In April 1945, the shattered remnants of the division were moved south to the area around Goldberg. After the final Soviet offensive, the division attempted to break out in the west, in order to surrender to the western Allies. After marching over the Reichenberg and Annaberg mountains, the division was encircled by Russian forces and capitulated on May 8. Some of the Estonians who had reached the western allies were handed back to the Soviets. The survivors could, at best, expect a lengthy stay in the Gulags. In contrast, some veterans of the Estonian Legion served as guards under American leadership at the Nuremberg Nazi war crimes trials. -- The Baltic Schutzmannschaft found themselves in a unique situation, they saw the Germans as liberators from Bolshevism. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania were occupied by the Soviet Union for slightly over a year and had experienced the brutality of the Soviets hence a passionate zeal against Bolshevism. The fighting in and around Narva, Estonia was also known as the "Battle of the European SS" since it involved a great number of foreign members in the Waffen-SS. (Less) Channel: youtube

In Bristol, scientists are making headway on something more at home in a science-fiction movie than in the quaint southwestern English city.
Scientists have produced a humanoid robot that can mimic human facial expressions and lip movements in a startingly natural manner.
The androgynous robotic head, known as 'Jules', copies movement and expressions of a human face by converting video image into digital commands that make the robot's 34 servo motors produce mirrored movements.
A project developed by Phd student Peter Jaeckel, Jules is able to interpret commands at 25 frames per second and use ten stock human emotions including happiness and sadness.
"Jules is about creating artificial facial expressions and also being able to read expressions from humans. So in a human-human interaction, we look at facial expression all the time to gain cues about emotional state and whether we're ready to start an interaction, these sorts of things - we do this seamlessly and easily -- and we want to get an artificial system to be able to do the same sort of thing," Chris Melhuish, head of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory (BRL), run by the University of the West of England and the University of Bristol, explained.
Melhuish says that Jules and another project 'Birt', which looks at robots tracking human gaze and and understanding hand gestures, are part of a bigger and a key theme of BRL's research which looks at human-robot interaction specifically in a care situation.
"What we're interested is robots that actually get close to human beings and work cooperatively with them. An obvious example for that would be a care robot, a robotic system which would help somebody who was infirm, perhaps, or disabled possibly or recovering from some injury," Melhuish said.
"It needs to be smart enough to know that when it's handed you the hot drink, that you actually are paying attention and that you know that the drink is hot, you know that it's been handed to you, you know that you are telling the robot then to let go of something. It needs all the smarts that you've got to be able to do that safely. So, Jules and Burt are little facets of that much bigger initiative or theme that we are working on in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory," Melhuish said.
Melhuish says he doesn't believe that Jules is the first humanoid robot able to mimic human facial expression but says what BRL's advances in the research are in making the movements more natural and life-like.
The head was developed in the U.S. by American specialist in robotics, David Hanson and is made of a flexible rubber skin known as 'Frubber'.
Melhuish says we need to understand human-robot interaction a lot more, if one day robots are to play a larger role in our everyday life where, he says, and contrary to the idea generated by science fiction movies, he believes the majority won't be humanoid. (Less) Channel: youtube

First, Russia is maintaining a high rate of economic growth. Our GDP increased by 8.3% last year, this year the growth target was originally 4%, but in reality it will be about 6% 5.7-5.8%. Industrial output has also registered steady growth. We think that it will come out at 8% at the end of the year. The favourable foreign trade conditions is only one reason. Internal incentives have appeared in Russia. One indicator is the work of our banking sector, which has increased credit to industry by more than 40%.
Secondly, the legal conditions for business have noticeably improved. The number of licensed activities has dropped from 2,000 (the legacy of the planned economy) to 104. That is still a few too many, but we intend to take another step to cut down on bureaucracy and liberalise the Russian economy. Businesses will soon be registered on a one-stop basis, within a single system and according to uniform rules. A law to this effect will come into force in July of next year.
The new Land Code, whose absence has been a brake on the economy for many years, will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the investment and business climate.
Legislation has been passed to counter money-laundering. We have challenged the black market which has been eroding the countrys economy. We have supported legal business, and it has received extra protection.
Thirdly, the corporate governance of Russian companies is gradually improving. A corporate governance code based on world business standards has been prepared.
Fourth, also very important, and perhaps the most important thing is the easing of the tax burden, something that has been discussed in Russia for years (for a whole ten years) and on which very little had been done until recently. As of January 2002 profit tax will be cut from 35% to 24%. All the tax breaks are abolished, that is, Russian business is becoming more transparent. And I have no doubt that we will stick to this approach in forming the rules of the game.
In the field of extraction of natural resources we have introduced one tax instead of three. Many in this room probably know that we now boast the lowest rate of income tax levied on private persons. It is the lowest in Europe, it is a flat-rate tax which does not depend on the size of income, and it is just 13%. And I must say that such a liberal approach had the immediate effect of sharply increasing the collection of taxes into the federal budget.
Accession to the WTO is one of our priorities. We are deliberately synchronising this process with internal reforms. Having said that, we understand that this step would bring not only benefits but also additional obligations. We realise we have to do it within a short space of time and we are deliberately speeding up the negotiating process. Already we are preparing a package of laws that will fill the blank spots in terms of international standards and WTO rules.
And I would like to stress that we will seek standard terms of admission to the WTO. It is quite a complicated process, but of late, it has been making good headway, not without support from our American partners. (Less) Channel: youtube

U.S. vs. Iran: rhetoric or possible progress?
The U.S. President Barack Obama says America is ready to talk to Iran to try and dismantle the wall that has been standing between them for three decades. However, what Iran wants is words put into practice.
The new U.S. administration has announced that it wants to make a change and start a dialogue. It is quite clear that a real change should be fundamental and not tactical, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stated in response to Obamas promises.
Will real change in approaches to working with Iran come about? Statements by the new American president appear to echo the previous administrations rhetoric:
Its actions have been unhelpful when it comes to promoting peace both in the region and around the world, said Obama, adding that their financing of terrorist organisations like Hezbollah and Hamas, their bellicose language that theyve used towards Israel, their development of a nuclear weapon.
Popular blogger Ben Cohen from Los Angeles, who focuses on American politics in his work, believes headway is possible if the U.S. lowers its condescending voice.
I dont think this rhetoric is helpful, because things he says about Iran are destabilising the region. From the Iranian perspective, of course, its America which is destabilising the region. I think Obamas rhetoric is unhelpful, Cohen said.
Middle East expert Richard Bullet has focused on U.S. ties with Iran for years. He was one of the people to participate in back-channel talks with Iran in the Clinton era. He believes if the U.S. offers dialogue, it should really listen to the other side.
The United States has concerns, Iran has concerns, but there is almost no recognition in the United States of what Irans concerns are. There will have to be some kind of recognition by the United States that if we put our issues on the table, we also have to recognise that they have issues that they can put on the table, Bullet says.
He adds that more verbal commitments can be expected from America, but words alone do not mean a solution is any closer. (Less) Channel: youtube

Transcript
When rural southern blacks eventually moved to the cities of the north, they brought their own kind of English with them. They're young men now, but 25 years ago, Dwayne, Asheen, and Kihilee were students at this school. Situated in a prosperous, mostly white suburb of Ann Arbor, there were not many black kids at the Martin Luther King school. When they spoke, as they did at home in African American English, their teachers simploy assumed they couldn't do school work.
ABrenen: They sort of felt like we were unteachable in a sense, I would feel. So, it kind of made them go towards other students more and gave them a little bit more help than they would give us.
RM: Can you remember some of the things that were said? Teachers would say?
ABrenen: Actually to be honest, the teachers really didn't even communicate with us too much. It just was sort of like, in a sense, that we were on our own.
RM: Do you remember any of that? You were younger.
KB: I was really young, but I mean I remember enough to know that I wasn't being treated the same way as all the other kids in the class, or a lot of the other kids. You know, that's the irony of it all. It's Martin Luther King's School and, you know, they hadn't learned anything from Martin Luther King. Well, hopefully, they learned it, but they didn't learn it back then.
RM: Three mothers who refused to accept 2nd best for their sons.
RM: Annie, what was it that got you and other parents upset enough to bring a lawsuit against the school?
ABlair: My kids was tested and was tested and was put into special ed classes, and I felt like that they were not getting educated and was not treated equally. And I felt like that shouldn't be a barrier because of the language to stop them from being educated.
RM: Ruth Zweifler is a social worker familiar with the housing project the boys came from. Listening to Annie tell how her son and his friends were failing at school, she knew something was wrong.
RZ: There were maybe 24 black, poor black children in a sea of affluent white families. And they really were having a very hard time.
RM: Ruth became convinced that the kids were being discriminated against because of their African-American English.
RZ: Language is the marker for assumed attitudes. Coming with an implied criticism, which is what I think a black child carries with him. We as adults, as mainstream society, as Americans have really done bad by these little kids.
RM: Unable to make any headway with the school admininstrators, Ruth went to Detroit. One of the lawyers she consulted as Ken Lewis. The legal strategy they and others thrased out led to a landmark court decision on black English.
KL: Our job was to see if we could come up with some legal theories that made sense that we could pursue on their behalf. The initial thrust of the case was to deal with the children's poverty, as the reason why they were not being educated. There is really no Constitutional right not to be poor in this country. And so, trying to find some constitutional provision that would help us along those lines was a futile effort. So, language became a part of it. And since that language barrier seemed to impact adversely only on black youngsters, we were able to tie in the race issue.
John Baugh: The most significant thing that I believe was raised during that trial was that you had a federal judge acknowledge formally that African American vernacular English represented a significant linguistic barrier to academic achievement and success. He confirmed that the school district was really insensitive to the linguistic background of the vast majority of African American students within the school district.
RM: Years later, the argument Ken Lewis used in this courthouse was raised by educators in Oakland, California. But, they claimed Black English, which they called Ebonics, was a separate language. That caused a national storm. (Less) Channel: youtube

She initially worked as a translator for an American firm, but had to change direction when the project ended. In 2003, Civici became self-employed and with her husband, started a furniture company concentrating on selling chairs in Italy and metal beds in Germany. This was not as easy as it sounds because Turkey's biggest furniture manufacturer is based in Kayseri. March 19, 2002

Вступительное слово на встрече с представителями еврейских общин России
19 марта 2002 года
Москва, Кремль
VLADIMIR PUTIN: I am glad to greet you in the Kremlin.
As you know, the Government and the head of state have lately been paying special attention to civil inter-faith peace in Russia to promote friendship and understanding between ethnic entities and religious communities.Russia will not survive unless we put insurmountable obstacles in the way of all kinds of xenophobia, and ethnic and religious extremism. That is one of the main challenges in our multi-denominational and multi-ethnic country. Of this I am deeply convinced. As I have repeatedly said in my public addresses, Russia is a unique land, in a sense—it is a country where Christianity, Judaism and Islam have harmoniously coexisted for centuries. Their alloy is an inalienable part of European culture and the basis of the multi-ethnic Russian nations strength. In this connection, I want to point out the Jewish peoples contribution to the development of this country. I dont want to sound commonplace, so I shall not mention things everyone knows—the contribution of particular ethnic entities to Russian literature and multi-ethnic Russian culture. I want to highlight recent events—some initiatives from the Jewish community in our extremely sensitive foreign political moves and plans. These are positive initiatives—suffice it to mention an appeal to your colleagues in the United States to abolish the Jackson-Vanik amendment in respect of trade with Russia. We know the process is making headway, and I thank you for it. While in the United States, I had very encouraging meetings with Congressmen representing relevant public organisations. We had a good, serious conversation. We regard the policy of certain Jewish public organisations in the United States as continuing that conversation. In particular, we paid attention to a letter from one of those organisations to the US Administration. It was the American Jewish Congress, if I am not mistaken. The message called to shift a part of US petroleum economic interests from some long-established energy exporters to Russia. I think it was a correct initiative, and I hope it will be echoed in my meetings with the US President in May.
That is all I intended to say in the beginning. I congratulate you, and all Jews in Russia, on the approaching Pesach. The word means Passover, and I hope we shall pass over all our problems. (Less) Channel: youtube
